The memory of the grave sites in the Presidio, some centuries old, is still arresting.

Each stone marker, each fallen warrior, is carefully honored with a perfectly placed American flag on Memorial Day. Dedication, precision and respect are encapsulated in thousands of Stars and Stripes.

Millennia old evergreens surround the cemetery on almost all sides. It gives a sense of time and scale matched only by Arlington.

I commend the Irish on their ingenuity. I particularly love the confession where "Chris" admits he likes taking ersatz drugs more than drinking. As if it is shameful for an Irishman not to love drinking.
