As someone around for 9-11 and the "NEVER FORGET NUMBER #1 GREATEST TRAGEDY EVER IN HISTURY" response to it I am in thrilled and invigorated by the fact that younger people just make amogus memes and TikTok nonsense about it. A huge chunk of America cared more about it than any entire genocide and thought you would cry learning about it. They hoped it'd make every generation patriotically angry forever and ever and want to join the military. Instead you Photoshop the towers into squidwards house and shit. Never stop lol

I think we need to normalize using "people" as a species neutral word.

Like idk in my brain the word people just doesn't automatically = human. To me it's just a way to signify intelligence and individuality, and to emphasize the need for respect towards another creature, not specific to any one species.

Dogs can be people, mice can be people, dragons can be people, humans can be people, birds can be people, elves can be people, robots can be people, and so on.

It's also (in my opinion) just much easier than always saying "beings" or "individuals" when referring to varying assortments of creatures.

Between 30-40 seconds you can plainly see that a counterprotestor with an Israeli flag screamed “K*ll all J*ws” to trigger a confrontation and discredit the movement at Northeastern University. The university reps used this remark as grounds for the student protestors’ arrests this morning, insinuating they were the source of the slur.

hi guys !! sorry for not posting art rn ive been kinda busy for the past few days but since i posted about this on twitter and it flopped HARD (🤢) i wanted to come on here and share some resources for palestine that i know of, since time is seriously running out for the people of gaza to evacuate to egypt

okay first is decolonize palestine. this is a really good resource for researching the history surronding the attrocities occuring in palestine rn. if you want you can also check out their myth busting section which i find to be really useful information ^^

arab.org has 6 causes they are supporting rn, including palestine. with a click of a button you could be helping palestinian people RIGHT NOW from the comfort of your own home. when you press their "click to help" button, it generates revenue from sponsored advertising, and you can do it once per day. this is more of a popular one so youve probably already heard of it but yeah

operation olive branch is a volunteer based organization that has a HUGE spreadsheet of palestinian families and their gofundmes. if you want to donate DIRECTLY to a palestinian family, youll want to visit their spreadsheet.

lastly is the boycott list from the BDS movement. just dont buy from any of these brands please. this is a targeted boycott so please focus your boycotting on these brands

Writing a Blind or Visually Impaired Character

A Multi-Step Guide Written by a Visually Impaired Writer and Blogger

I’m hoping this blog will over time develop its own following, and when it does people will inevitably see my bio and notice what I included: I’m visually impaired.

Yes, a visually impaired writer, and I’ve written with two blind characters before so I have some practice in the field.

So, inevitably, someone is going to ask how to write a blind character.

Or, at least, I hope you’ll ask someone who’s actually blind or visually impaired about writing a blind character before you get too involved with your new WIP.

Part Six: Should You Cure Your Character’s Blindness? (Short Answer: No)

There’s no way to write a cure for your blind character that doesn’t make blind readers hate you. Sorry. We came here to finally experience a relatable character who experiences the world like us, but none of us are getting cured so seeing this character we learned to love become something alien from us in the end feels like a slap in the face
