“May I please draw your OC?”
Reblog this message if you encourage anyone that wants to draw your OC to do so.  No need to ask for permission in advance.
Go for it.  Draw my OC.  If you want, I’ll even give you reference posts.  Go to town on it.
You are welcome to draw my OC and surprise me with the result.  Seriously.  In fact, I encourage it.  I will proudly display whatever it is you submit to me regarding my OC.  There is a chance that I will squeal about it for several days.
Even if you feel you aren’t good at whatever artistic adventure it is you do, please feel free to submit it to me.  I want to see what you have done.

Taliesin Jaffe on Percy
Tumblr media
“Percy definitely has a lot of me in him. We’re complicated mechanisms, human beings. A lot of Percy came from questions about myself. Percy was originally a script. It was a question I asked metaphorically, that then turned into a character, that grew from there.
What is the person in the bargain that I can love and relate to, that, when offered “I can give you this thing to satisfy a very base feeling in you, and in return ten thousand people you’ll never meet are going to die”…? And it was very much like, I wanna find a person I can love who can say yes to that. In the original story that I wrote, he was very much “I’m consigning the future to this inevitable negativity in return for my own personal satisfaction”. Much more flowy in the time.

And then for Percy it became “how do I find a positive resolution for this character”? And my belief for a long time was that there is none. Once you have somebody who makes this decision — Nobel being a good example of that — somebody who did something fucking terrible, the repercussions of which we’re still living… Sure, anybody could have done it and anybody would, but…
And that’s the question, is this unredeemable? For a person like this, where is the redemption, where does it come from, and where does peace come from, once you know that you’ve fucked up that badly? And when you know that you’re a person who, in that moment, will make the wrong call?
It was really interesting. And I couldn’t believe that I found a resolution for it.”
~ Between the Sheets: Taliesin Jaffe (starts at 56:08)

The resolution of Percy’s character arc: a truth never before uttered. The moment (only seconds after he tries and fails to damn himself forever), when he finally admits and accepts that he’s hurt like humans hurt, not broken to an inhuman shape. He doesn’t have to be a monster any more, and isn’t required to meet a monster’s end. He can go make some clocks now.

Trinkets, Worthless, 8: These trinket are garbage plain and simple. They would be termed vendor trash or junk loot in video games. They aren’t touched by stray magic or mystery as with regular trinkets, aren’t made from valuable materials and aren’t particular useful even if they aren’t damaged.
A box of odd beads that bear no resemblance to eyes, yet always seem to watch the nearest creature.
A wanted poster that bears the face of a terrified elf. The reward is not listed.
A bright orange, ceramic throwing star that will always miss its target.
A small pair of scissors that only cut eyebrow hair.
A glass bottle filled with multiple layers of differently-colored sand.
A dried leaf that is entirely unaffected by any sort of natural wind or breeze.
A shirt button that changes shape every day.
A map with vague directions to an abandoned gnome’s house.
A small wooden box that contains a single, worn thimble.
A 1’ x 2’ sheet of white canvas upon which the words “SUFFERING IS NOT ART!” are written and underlined in blood.
—Keep reading for 90 more trinkets.
