Dedicated to Ukrainians who in over three years of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine grew so accustomed to everyday missile and drone attacks they stopped reacting to safety measures, and just attempt to live their lives.
It’s terrifying how the madness that should spark outrage, reaction, and cause consequences to the attacker is instead treated as normal by the world and force the people of Ukraine to “just bear with it”. Every day (c) @ yuliyaosyka

Dream a little dream of me. Last chapter. The door
Tumblr media
Pairing: Morpheus x FemaleReader
Rating: PG
Words: 660
“I can try to close the anomaly again,” you said later.
“It will be closed once you return your memories,” Morpheus replied calmly.
You knew it, but you were nervous. What will happen if you are this immortal creature again? The key to the door.
“You are nervous,” Morpheus admitted.
“A little bit,” you said.
“I will always be with you,” he whispered. “You won’t be alone. You can stay in the Dreaming if you want.”
“Tell me now everything,” you whispered.
“You were created by gods to protect the gates between Chaos and the Dreaming,” Morpheus replied. “It was a long time ago. We met with you back then. I was…impressed. I was young back then. And then gods took over my kingdom. They imprisoned me, and some chaotic creature killed you. You were reborn as a human. The last gift of gods.”
“But without memories,” you noticed.
“Yes,” Morpheus agreed. “The accident mixed everything up. You should stay in the Dreaming. If you were to die, perhaps you would return your memories.”
“Oh…” you sighed.
“I’m sorry,” Morpheus sighed. “It was my fault.”
“What do you mean?” you asked, surprised.
Morpheus
Some time ago
Of course, I didn’t want her to let go. I wanted her to stay and become my queen. But it means that I need to use her vulnerable condition. Her loss of memories. I should let her go.
“Are you sure it’s wise, my lord?” Lucien asked. “We still don’t know why she doesn’t have memories. Maybe we should keep her a little longer.”
“No, Lucien,” I sighed. “I should let her go to find her own way. If we keep her here, she could never return her memories back.”
“If you say so,” she sighed.
So I went to find Y/N. Even if my heart broke a little bit. Or not a little bit, I should do this. I found her in the garden. She looked at me, and her expression became concerned.
“Did something happen?” she asked.
“No, I… I just need to tell you something,” I whispered.
“What is it?” she asked softly.
“I love you,” I confessed.
“I love you too,” she shined.
Then I kissed her. She was so beautiful. So kind. She understands me like no one else.
“And I need you to let go,” I whispered.
“What?” she asked, confused.
And then she disappeared. And I was left alone under the rain with pieces of my broken heart.
Nowadays
“I didn’t know,” you whispered. “But I’m sure that wasn’t your fault. Perhaps I would wake up but later.”
“No,” he sighed.
“Morpheus,” you said. “It’s not your fault. Stop blaming yourself for everything. If it were the case, I would wake up earlier.”
“Did your memories return?” he asked.
“No,” you said. “Perhaps, you should kiss me one more time. Or even more.”
“I will obey,” he smirked and kissed me.
His lips were soft and warm, and you felt how the strength was returning to you. Alongside with your memories. You felt a little bit dizzy.
“Are you alright?” Morpheus asked.
“I remember,” you replied. “Maybe you are the key to my memories. Maybe we should be together after all.”
“After all, I don’t want you to stay in the Waking world,” he said. “And you also shouldn’t blame yourself for what happened.”
“I know,” you smiled. “Now let’s fix this anomaly.”
From your hand came a light that started to sew the hole in the Dreaming. You still feel sad that you should leave your mortal life.
“Can I visit my family sometimes?” you asked.
“You can,” Morpheus said. “But not for long.”
“Thank you,” you smiled.
“Are you ready for your new life?” he asked. “Or should I say, for your old life?”
“Well, it’s kind of new because I’m going to live with you in the Dreaming,” you smiled. “We won’t be alone and separate now.”
“No, we won’t,” he smiled softly too.

Dream a little dream of me. Chapter 7. The light of the star
Tumblr media
Pairing: Morpheus x FemaleReader
Rating: PG
Words: 2400
“What will happen if I stay?” you asked.
“That is unknown,” replied the first woman. “Perhaps, you will shatter the border between worlds. And even more nightmares might escape.”
“They escaped because they were looking for her,” Morpheus declined. “If she stays here, they won’t need to do this.”
“Then I shouldn’t return to my world,” you realized. “Or everyone will be in danger. I don’t want to endanger them.”
“We can find another way,” he said.
“What should we do?” you asked.
“We answered your question,” the first woman said. “The rest is for you to decide.”
And they disappeared. You were silent, as was Morpheus. And then you sighed.
“I think I need to stay here,” you said. “In the Dreaming.”
“We can find the way,” he said.
“Why?” you shrugged. “You wanted me to stay. I think there is a way. And it would be better since you can’t be with mortals.”
“We don’t know what happen if you will remember everything,” the man said. “Everything can change, as they said.”
“Everything won’t be the same again anyway,” you replied. “That’s alright. I just need to talk to my family.”
“What are you going to tell him?” he asked.
“I can tell…that I’m going with you,” you said.
“They don’t trust me yet,” he said. “They can’t let you go with me yet.”
“We can say that I need to be observed in your hospital,” you said. “For some time. But I will find the way to visit him. Somehow.”
“Do you think they will believe it?” Morpheus asked.
“I don’t know,” you sighed and felt suddenly very tired. “Do you have other options now? I need to tell them anyway that I will be absent. Even if they don’t like it, they can’t just lock me inside. I’m grown-up already.”
“Definitely,” he smirked.
“Stop making fun of me,” you said. “We need to return.”
Morpheus didn’t argue with me. And we teleported back to my flat. It was still the night. But sunrise should be soon.
“I hope nothing happened while I was in the Dreaming,” you said.
“Not much time passed,” he noticed. “You need to rest while you still have time.”
“And what about you?” you asked.
“I will make sure that there are no dreams or nightmares left in your town,” he replied seriously. “And then I will return to you.”
“Will I go to the Dreaming?” you asked.
“No, you can rest without dreams,” he said. “Let me put you to sleep.”
“Alright,” you lied again. “But don’t go for too long. I am almost scared to be left alone again.”
“I promise,” he said seriously and touched your hand.
Sleep overtook you in a minute.
Morpheus
I also feel scared. If she returns to her dreams, will everything change? All the dreaming can change, and I…won't be alone anymore. Or even lonelier than before. She won’t be human anymore, but she can be far away from me.
“Boss, are you alright?” Matthew asked. “You look like you are going to cry. Did you hear bad news about her or the Dreaming?”
“She is not human,” I replied. “Did you see any other nightmares around the town?”
“No, I didn’t,” he said.
“Look for her,” I said. “I need to go to the Dreaming. I will return soon. But she shouldn’t leave home while I am there. Do you understand?”
“Yes, boss,” the raven replied.
Some time ago
The charming blond guy walked right through the door of the shop you were working in. He looked polite and handsome.
“Hello,” he smiled. “I think I lost.”
“It’s not a big town,” you smiled. “So you should have a talent to get lost here. Anyway, are you new in our town?”
“Yes, I was transferred here for work,” the man replied. “My name is Justin.”
“Y\N,” you replied. “Unfortunately, I can’t help you right now. Because I’m working. Maybe later?”
“Alright,” he smiled. “See you later then.”
This man kept returning to your shop and then could wait for me from work. He was gentle and kind at first. And you started to date. But then he became… possessive and controlling.
“I’m not a thing,” you said. “You don’t own me.”
“I want you to save you,” he replied. “People can hurt you.”
“You are the one who is hurting me with your behavior,” you said. “Whom do you want to protect me from? My family and friends?”
“I want you to be stronger than this,” he replied.
“I don’t need this,” you said.
You broke up with him. But he was always nearby you all this time. And it was irritating.
Nowadays
When you woke up, it was already the morning. But there were no Morpheus in the sight. But Matthew was sitting on your window.
“Rise and shine,” he said.
“Hello, Matthew,” you said. “When is Morpheus?”
“He will return soon,” the bird replied.
“I need to talk to my family,” you said. “I feel that my mother can call me soon.”
“Boss said that you need to wait for him here,” Matthew replied. “He will be back, and you can do that together.”
“Do you find other nightmares?” you asked.”
“No, but…” he tried.
“Then everything will be alright,” you said, getting dressed. “I will stay in my parents' home. You can fly with me.”
Matthew made some nervous noise but followed you. But you didn’t reach your destination because you bumped into someone.
“Justin?” You looked surprised. “What did you do here?”
“I was looking for you,” he smiled.
“This early?” you asked, surprised.
“Well, you’re going somewhere so early,” he noticed.
“Yes, to my parents,” you said. “They’re waiting for me.”
“I can walk you there,” he suggested.
“No, thank you,” you said. “I don’t need your help.”
You started to feel uncomfortable. His presence was…concerning. Why does he appear only now? What does he need?
“I insist,” he whispered. “I know that you started remembering things. I want to help you. To protect from bad decisions.”
“What?” Now you were really afraid.
“You need to go with me,” he said and took your hand firmly.
You gave Matthew a worried look. And he understood you and flew away. As you hope to find Morpheus. Because something was very wrong.
Morpheus
When I planned to return to Y\N house, Matthew flew to me. He was very worried.
“Boss!” he said. “Something happened…”
“I told you to look after it,” I said firmly.
“And I did,” he said. “But she insisted on going to her parents. And as soon as she left the house, a man came to her.”
Fear settled in my heart. I shouldn’t leave her. I was so angry with myself.
“Where is she now?” I asked. “What does that man look like?”
“He was blonde, tall, and charming,” the raven replied. “Firstly, I thought that it was Corinthian. But he is not a nightmare. And he knows something about her. He said that he wanted to protect her from bad decisions.”
That was bad. I felt that something was terribly wrong. He is not a nightmare, but he could be something else. Who? A demon?
“Find her and tell me,” I said.
He didn’t bring you to your parents. Instead, he brought you to his messy house. For someone who is always dressed so well, he has quite a chaotic place.
“So what now?” you asked. “Am I your hostage?”
“No, you’re my guest,” he smiled.
“I want to go to my parents,” you said. “If I’m your guest, then you should let me go. We have nothing to talk about.”
“I think we did,” he said.
“What are you talking about?” you asked.
“You should help me,” he said. “And if you remember everything, you won’t be able to do that. He won’t let you.”
“I don’t understand,” you felt that perhaps he was insane.
“You need to come with me and open the door,” he said.
“Who are you?” you asked.
Suddenly you felt like that time on the street when everything started to change. But now you saw that his handsome face was…wrong. Like the mask that started to crack. His eyes were like black holes and emotionless.
“What are you?” you asked, scared.
“I’m the person that was always looking after you,” Justin replied. “I loved you when everyone else  was only taking your love. Isn’t it enough?”
“You’re not real,” you whispered. “And you tried to keep me to yourself. You were suffocating me. I don’t belong to you.”
“I can do anything for you.” His voice was now…weird. He was emotionless. “And you are to do only one thing for me.”
“No!” you said.
You don’t know what he needs from you, but you have the feeling that it is wrong. You couldn’t believe that you were dating a monster.
“Why not?” he asked. “You don’t even know what I want. It won’t cost anything from you.”
“No, I won’t do anything for you,” you said. “You kidnapped and tried to look charming. You’re not human, are you?”
“Maybe not,” he smirked, and that looked terrifying. “But I was there when your beloved king of dreams wasn’t.”
Morpheus. You hope that he will come and rescue you soon. Because you have no idea what to do. You almost fainted from the thought that you dated some creature… Maybe you can ask him and win time.
“So what are you then?” you asked. “And what do you want?”
He almost calmed down in an instant. So you should keep him in a good mood until Morpheus comes. You can do that.
“I am the one who wants to go home,” he said.
“And how can I help you with that?” you asked.
“You are the key that opens the door between the Dreaming and Chaos,” he said. “Only you can do that.”
“I’m what?” you asked.
“You’re the key to this door,” he whispered. “And I wanted you to open it, but if you would remember everything, you wouldn’t.”
“Go away,” you heard a suddenly angry voice.
Thank God, it was Morpheus. He came. You tried to run to him, but Justin, or whatever it was, caught your arm.
“So you came after all,” he said. “Good, we can go to your world together. And open the door to my world.”
“Let her go, demon.” Morpheus’s eyes were black with fury. “Or I will turn your life into a real nightmare.”
“I don’t think so,” he said. “Besides, you probably want her by your side.”
“I don’t want her to suffer,” Morpheus replies. “And you won’t make her a tool for you.”
“Maybe we should open the door and let him go,” you suggested.
“No, he doesn’t want to go,” Morpheus said. “He wants to let others in. And maybe to kill you again like that time.”
“What?” You looked at your ex-boyfriend.
“Oh, should you spoil everything?” Justin asked, annoyed. “Very well, then I think we need to return memories.”
“What are you talking about?” you asked and tried to make yourself free.
“He was the one who killed you before you became mortal,” Morpheus said, slowly approaching them. “Perhaps, he thought, “your death would open the gates.”
“And what about accidents?” you asked. “Did you do this too?”
“No,” he said. “I wasn’t sure if it helps. What if you die for real this time? And I should wait for you to be reborn and look for you.”
“You’re sick,” you said.
“That’s enough,” he said and squeezed your hand. “We need to go.”
“No!” you said, feeling sudden strength inside of you. “Creatures like that are not the rule for me. I’m not yours to take.”
And then light shone out of you that made Justin let you go. He backed up and almost fell.
“No one will open those gates again,” you said. “Even if you kill me. You need to leave and never return here.”
“I won’t be as merciful as Y\n,” Morpheus admitted. “You will live in a nightmare from now on, so you can’t bother anyone.”
Justin didn’t have time to run away. Morpheus blew his sand in him, and the creature immediately fell asleep.
“Are you alright?” he came to me carefully.
“Yes,” you whispered. “Thank you for coming.”
“Of course,” he nodded.
“Is he just sleeping?” you asked.
“Yes,” Morpheus replied. “You shouldn’t leave without me.”
“I know, I’m sorry,” you sighed.
But he didn’t look angry. He came closer and embraced you gently.
“I suppose we still need to get to my parents' home,” you said.
“Are you completely sure in your decision?” Morpheus asked.
“It seems I don’t have so much of a choice,” you sighed. “Or some other creatures can escape to the waking world.”
“It wasn’t your fault,” he said.
“Can you tell me, please, what happened?” you asked. “The whole story. But first, let’s get out here and visit my parents.”
They were concerned by your exhausted look and concern in Morpheus’s eyes. But that was convincing them that you do need some sort of extra treatment.
“Maybe it would be better to stay here,” mother suggested. “When we can help and visit you.”
“Unfortunately, only in my clinic can she get special treatment.” Morpheus was frowning. He didn’t like this lie.
“That’s unfair,” father sighed. “We just got you back. And now you can go away again. We will miss you.”
“I know, you sighed. “I will miss you too. And as soon as possible, I will come to visit you. I am sure that Morpheus can take care of me.”
“He’d better to do that,” replied father. “You can give us an address so we can come to visit you. Can you do that?”
“Not yet,” Morpheus replied. “She needs rest.”
“Are you sure?” mother asked for the last time.
“I’m sure,” you smiled. “Don’t worry, I will be fine.”
She just sighed. I hugged them for the last time. Then I decided to talk to my friends. And then it was time to go.
“Are you ready?” Morpheus asked.
“I think so.” You felt sad. Because during a short period of time, your life changed a few times. What is waiting for you now?”
“Don’t be afraid,” Morpheus said softly. “I will be with you. You won't be lonely.”
“I hope I shouldn’t stay on the guard of these doors,” you smiled. “It would be so boring.”
“No,” he smiled. “Let’s go.”

Dream a little dream of me. Chapter 6. The last dream
Tumblr media
Pairing: Morpheus x FemaleReader
Rating: PG
Words: 2800
The wait was long. You began to worry. But you didn’t want to sleep. You were afraid of dreams now. But it seemed you fell asleep anyway.
Some time ago
“It seemed The Dreaming became brighter with you here,” said Morpheus.
You spend some time already here. You still didn’t remember anything, but you fell in love with Morpheus. He was rather cute and gentle even when he was so serious. It was just the way he is. And he became softer.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you smiled. “Maybe it’s because you’re in a better mood. The Dreaming reacts to you.”
“Perhaps,” he nodded and sat next to you in the garden. “Would you like to stay here if you can?”
He asked suddenly, and you froze. He didn’t talk about it before.
“Are you serious?” you asked.
“When I wasn’t?” he asked in return.
“I don’t know,” you noticed. “You have never asked me this before. You said it’s forbidden for humans to be here for a long time.”
“Your case is different,” he said.
“Because I’m in a coma and could be dead?” you smiled sadly.
“You’re not dead,” he said. “You would appear here in the form of a raven in that case. I’m sure you'll wake up soon.”
“There is still a mystery of me being here without memories,” you noticed. “And you can’t wake me up.”
“I can live with that,” he smiled a little bit. “I used to your presence here.”
“Oh, that’s so sweet,” you smiled too. “And I’m glad that it’s you with me here.”
You blushed, and he smirked. That bastard.
“Do you really like my presence?” he asked.
“Why not?” you smiled. “You are smart and interesting.”
And attractive, you think. But you aren’t going to tell him that. Or he will become even more arrogant than he was.
“I’m glad to hear that,” he said.
“For a good, you have quite interesting self-esteem,” you said. “Why do you think no one would stay by your side?”
“Rarely does someone stay for long,” he replied. “They said I am too much. I shine too bright, and my love is suffocating.”
“Maybe they weren’t meant to stay for a long time,” you noticed.
“What do you mean?” he asked, a little bit surprised.
“I mean, they are not your persons,” you replied. “They didn’t love you.”
“Perhaps,” Morpheus replied.
“Your mistakes don’t define who you are,” you said. “And it’s never too late to change. You are not bad.”
“You don’t know me enough to judge,” he said.
“I know you enough,” you smiled.
Slowly his behavior changed even more. He tried to bring you something every time—a dress, jewelry, flowers, or sweets. He even suggests that if you stayed, he could make you a little house. How could you not love him? How could you think that he is not sweet?
“Are you courting me?” you said finally.
Morpheus immediately stiffened and frowned. There was a little blush on his pale cheeks.
“I can stop if…” he began, but I interrupted him.
“No,” you said softly. “I do like that. I’m just a little bit surprised. You didn’t say…what you exactly feel.”
“I….care a lot about you,” Morpheus said after a pause. “And I hope that one day you will care about me too.”
“Oh, Morpheus,” you smiled. “I am also in love with you. You could just tell me. But I appreciate all these gestures.”
“Truly?” he asked with hope.
“Of course,” you smiled.
He gently touched your cheek, and you blushed. Your heart beat so fast if it wants to escape your chest. You looked into his cosmic eyes.
“You are truly wonderful,” he said.
“Says the god of dreams,” you smiled softly and hugged his slender waist. He was so marvelously handsome, you can cry.
“I’m not a god,” he rolled his eyes but then smiled.
“You’re a god, for me,” you replied. “Or pretty close to the one. But I don’t want you to be hurt when the time comes for me to wake up.”
“We can meet in your world,” he said.
“Deal,” you said. “And…look!”
You noticed that reality began to change around you. Beautiful flowers started to grow around you. And the weather was so good.
“Is that you?” you asked.
“No,” Morpheus replied, surprised. “Perhaps, the Dreaming also likes you.”
“But you are the Dreaming, my love.” You looked at him.
“Perhaps my emotions are working like that now,” he said.
“Perhaps,” you smiled.
You woke up. You began to understand that perhaps it was your doing. Furthermore, you made these flowers. Or your feelings. But what does that mean?
At that moment someone knocked on your door. You almost fell off your bed. It can’t be Morpheus. He would appear out of thin air right in front of you. Then…who was that? You were scared to approach the door.
“Sweetheart, it’s me; open the door,” you heard your mother’s voice. “You didn’t answer the call, so I came to check on you.”
You looked at your phone, but there weren’t unanswered calls. Perhaps it didn’t pass enough time for mom to begin to worry again. But who is out there then?
“Y\N, I know that you are here,” the voice said.
It wasn’t your mother. It was one of the nightmares, for sure. Even if it was your mother, nothing will happen if you won’t answer.
“You should go home,” she continued. “You know where your home is, right? You should come with me…”
Then it got silent. And then a shadow appeared in the middle of the room. The shadow reminds me of a woman.
“You should fix what you have done,” she whispered.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” you said. “I’m just a human. Morpheus won’t be happy if you find out…”
You understood that you should call Morpheus in the first place. But you didn’t know that nightmares can get into your home. And before you could call him, the nightmare attacked in an instant. But she would stop when you raised your hands to protect your face.
“Don’t touch me,” you screamed.
And she stopped. She froze and couldn’t do anything.
“Morpheus,” you called before this weird magic passed.
And Morpheus appeared. He frowned when he saw his nightmare.
“What did you do to her?” he asked.
“I don’t know,” you said. “She tried to attack me. And I raised my hands and just froze.”
“You don’t need to worry anymore,” he said, also raising his hand, and the nightmare disappeared. “Are you alright?” he asked.
“Yes, but it scared me a little,” you said. “I forgot to call you right away. I thought I was safe. I’m sorry.”
“You don’t need to be sorry,” Morpheus said softly. “I’m sorry I was absent for too long. Did something else happen?”
“I fell asleep again, and I saw what happened between us in the Dreaming,” you said. “Or the part of it.”
“And what exactly did you see?” the man asked.
“You're courting and our confessions,” you replied, blushing. “And also I thought…maybe I made those flowers.”
“You’re not a part of the Dreaming,” he frowned.
“Then what is happening now?” you asked.
Morpheus silently looked at you. You saw in his eyes that there is a battle inside of him. He didn’t want to believe that something wrong might be with you.
“Do you know how do you do that?” he asked.
“No,” you replied.
“Perhaps you’re right,” he said seriously. “But how did it happen that I didn’t sense anything in you? Except your loss of memories.”
“I don’t know,” you sighed. “What should we do now?”
“I will stay with you,” he said.
“Do you hate me now?” you asked.
“I don’t hate you,” he replied. “I’m just confused. And I don’t like that feeling. I had already gathered my nightmares not so long ago. And I didn’t expect to do this again. Did she tell you something?”
“That she should take me home to fix things,” you replied. “But I don’t know what she meant. “Do you know?”
“The one I found also told me that you shouldn’t be here,” he said. “You need to fall asleep, and then I will take you to the Dreaming again.”
“Alright,” you sighed. “But I don’t know how to fall asleep right now.”
“I will help you with that,” Morpheus said. “Lie down.”
You obeyed and lay down on the bed. And looked nervously at him. You still had the feeling that he was angry with you. But Morpheus took a torch with sand.
“Sweet dreams,” he said and blew it on you.
“My lord!” said Lucienne when you appeared in the Dreaming. “What about the nightmares?”
“I found two,” he said. “Y/N could stop one of them.”
“What?” Lucienne looked at me.
“I don’t know what happened,” you shrugged. “But she wanted to bring me here. She said that I need to fix something.”
“And do you remember those flowers around us, Lucienne?” Morpheus asked. “It seemed that Y\n did this either.”
“Don’t look at me,” you said.
“How is it possible if she is not a vortex?” the librarian asked.
“That’s what we need to find out,” Morpheus said. “And she stays here until the threat is gone. It’s safer that way.”
“Can I help?” you asked.
“You can help Lucienne,” the man said. “She will appreciate your help.”
“And what about you?” you asked.
“I need to find the rest of the nightmares and decide what to do with that…anomaly in the Dreaming,” he replied. “We can’t afford to let the rest of the nightmares or dreams slip through it. You will be safe here if you don't leave the palace.”
You want to say something else. Furthermore, you want him to stay and say one more time that everything will be alright. But instead you watched him go.
Morpheus
That was concerning. All of that was concerning. She wasn’t a human and wasn’t a vortex. Then what is she?
“Boss, the nightmare returned to the Dreaming,” Matthew flew and sat on his shoulder. “I suppose it was the last.”
“Perhaps,” I replied. “I need to talk to it.”
In a moment, Nightmare appeared right in front of him in the throne room. It looked concerned. But it was not frightened or guilty.
“You abandoned your post,” I said. “What can you say?”
“I should take this opportunity,” he replied. “And the girl… She was like a lighthouse, and we were linked to her.”
“What do you mean?” I frowned.
“She is a light,” the nightmare explained. “And she has a part of Dreaming in her.”
“A part…of the Dreaming?” I asked, shocked.
“She shouldn’t wake up,” he continued. “She should stay here. Her place is here. Don’t you remember, my lord?”
I stared at him with shock. That couldn’t be right. How could they even could know that? But perhaps I wasn’t right. I don’t know…something.
“Return to your dreams,” I said after the moment.
The nightmare disappeared. I sighed. All of this caused a headache. I don’t usually love unsolved mysteries. And this was the one.
“What do you think, boss?” Matthew asked.
“I think that there are a lot of things we don’t know,” I said. “How can my nightmare know that she is from the Dreaming? And why didn't I know?”
“Maybe you send them away too early,” the raven suggested. “You should ask them. Maybe they know more.”
“Perhaps…” I said.
But Matthew makes sense. I should clarify some things. And I called Nightmares again. They were scared this time.
“You should tell me everything you know,” I said.
“We just know that she doesn’t belong to the Waking world,” one of the nightmares replied. “She belongs with us.”
“Is she a dream?” I asked.
“No,” the other replied. “She is something else. Something bright.”
“Who is she then?” I asked.
“We don’t know,” they said. “But she’s supposed to stay here. Not return to the Waking world. Everything should change.”
I sighed. I was tired, and I let them go. That conversation didn’t clarify anything. Perhaps I should talk with someone.
“What now, boss?” asked Matthew.
“I need to talk to someone,” I said. “But my sister didn’t have an answer.”
“Can you talk with other members of your family?” Matthew asked.
“I don’t think so,” I replied. “But first I will talk to Lucienne.”
Your search for answers was sometimes interrupted with questions from Lucienne. She tried to understand who you are.
“What did you think at that moment?” she interrogated you.
“I don’t remember,” you said. “I told you already.”
“You can't remember anything,” she said.
“Maybe someone put a spell on me,” you shrugged. “That’s possible, right? We have already found books about that.”
“Did you remember any suspicious interactions?” the librarian asked.
“No, there weren’t any suspicious interactions,” you said. “Not that I recall of. What is the vortex? You didn’t tell me.”
“It’s a human who can blur the line between dreams and reality,” she said. “Until they crashed into each other.”
“First it sounded interesting, now it’s terrible,” you noticed.
“Lord Morpheus should kill one,” she admitted.
“What?” You almost dropped the book. “Wasn’t it a little extreme?”
“No,” Lucienne replied calmly. “She started destroying her world. And another vortex almost made the world collapse.”
“That’s terrible,” you sighed. “But do you think I’m the one?”
“Well, I don’t know now,” she shrugged. “But Lord Morpheus is convinced that you’re not. Though we can’t find another explanation.”
“Then we need to ask,” Morpheus appeared suddenly. “Perhaps we should ask the Fates.”
“They always talk in riddles,” Lucienne sighed. “And they don’t like you much, my lord.”
“I don’t have another option,” he replied.
“Fates?” you asked. “As Moiras?”
“What do you know about them?” asked Morpheus.
“What I read in Greek mythology,” you shrugged. “Can you communicate with them?”
“Yes, but I need to bring them a gift,” he said.
“Please, reconsider, my lord,” Lucienne said.
“I made my decision,” he said. “Now I need to figure out what gift I should bring.”
“Can I be with you during this meeting?” you asked.
“I don’t think so,” he said.
“My lord, they may want to look at her,” the librarian admitted.
“You are right,” Morpheus stopped and looked at her. “You can go with me, Y/N. But they can want something from you too.”
“What can they take from me?” you asked, surprised.
“They can ask anything,” the librarian replied. “Don’t be afraid.”
“Fine,” you sighed.
This advice doesn't sound helpful, though. But you can trust Morpheus, you hope. If only mother knew what was happening…
“Do you trust me?” Morpheus took my hand.
“Yes,” you replied.
“Then let’s go and find the gift,” he said.
You let him take you to other parts of the Dreaming. Where he found some artifacts. He wasn’t sure about them, though.
“What now?” you asked.
“Now we need to call them on the crossroad,” he said. “We need to find an appropriate dream for this. And hope that they will answer us.”
You were a little bit nervous when Morpheus started to call the Fates. Hecate. The lightning brightened the sky. And three women appeared in front of you. One was old, one was middle-aged, and the third was young.
“Morpheus,” said the oldest. “We didn’t see you for a long time.”
“What question do you have this time?” said the second one.
“And who is she?” asked the youngest.
“That is exactly the question,” Morpheus replied. “She is not quite human. Everyone said that she is a part of the Dreaming. But I don’t remember.”
“What an interesting question,” said one of the woman.
“A real puzzle,” said another.
They came closer to you, and you did everything not to move. They were looking at you like at something very interesting.
“If you give a little bit of your light,” said the oldest woman.
“We can say,” said the second.
“I brought you gifts,” said Morpheus.
“We said our conditions,” declined the youngest.
“We said our price,” admitted the oldest.
“That’s alright,” you said to him. “I agree.”
“Don’t be afraid, child,” one of them said and came closer. Then she put her hand on your chest, and you felt burning.
“Y\N,” you heard Morpheus.
And suddenly the light shines bright from your body. And you felt exhausted. They left you alone, looking at you.
“Very interesting,” said the oldest one. “You are back.”
“What?” you whispered.
“You are daughter of the light that has lived a long time ago,” said the second woman. “You should keep balance between the Dreaming and the reality. You can help someone who is lost in dreams.”
“You also were a key to the gates between Dreaming and Chaos,” said the third one. “And then something happened. You were killed in the Dreaming and returned as human.”
“You were reincarnated every time,” said the oldest. “But after the accident you were really close to getting your memories back.”
“And your function,” said the middle. “Your returning to the Dreaming made this anomaly in the Dreaming. “Now you should choose.”
“Choose what?” you asked.
“To stay in the Waking world, making more anomalies, or to return your memories and change everything,” finished the youngest.

Dream a little dream of me. Chapter 5. Nightmare’s hunt
Tumblr media
Pairing: Morpheus x FemaleReader
Rating: PG
Words: 2300
“Well, a good thing then that I won’t stay at my parents house for a night,” you admitted. “Actually, I hoped you helped to put my things from their house to my flat.”
“And you won’t argue about me staying with you?” he asked.
“You already did that,” you shrugged.
“You should be more worried about things,” Morpheus admitted.
“Maybe I’m just glad that you stay longer with me,” you smiled. “And also, you are going to take care of this problem.”
“I see,” he chuckled.
“But we’re not going to tell my parents that you stay,” you said. “Or they lock me in their house.”
Morpheus just smiled and returned to home with you. He helped you to get your stuff even faster with his teleportation magic.
“My parents are probably thinking that we did this too fast,” you smiled. “But now we can actually rest.”
“If you say so,” he agreed.
“Do you think nightmares are going to visit me again?” you asked.
“I think it’s possible,” he said. “Or perhaps, it is just casual dreams. But I need to observe and make sure that you are safe.”
“Thank you,” you smiled.
Morpheus just nodded and sat on the bed.
“Why did they come here?” you asked, making tea. “And why do you think I’m in danger?”
“I still don’t have the whole picture,” Morpheus replied. “But my librarian thinks that it’s connected to you somehow.”
“What?” you asked.
“Some anomalies appeared in the Dreaming,” he said. “After you wake. And nightmares slipped out to find…something.”
“To find me,” you said.
“I won’t let them hurt you,” he said.
“But they want to find me?” you asked. “I’m nothing special.”
“That’s what I try to find out,” Morpheus said. “Perhaps it’s connected to your absence of memories in the Dreaming.”
“Oh, I’m sorry I can’t help,” you sighed.
“You can help by staying safe,” he said. “And you should promise me that you'll tell me if you remember anything.”
“Of course,” you nodded.
“Did you recognize that place in your dream?” the man asked.
“I had the feeling that I know this place,” you replied. “But now I don’t know if I recognize it. But you know, we almost feel in the dreams that we know something, but once we wake up, we forget this feeling.”
“People just return to places they once knew,” Morpheus replied. “The Dreaming is like home. A place where they can feel safe.”
“I see,” you replied. “So you think I once was in this place but just don’t remember it.”
“Perhaps,” he nodded. “And I think if you fall asleep, I will take you with me to the Dreaming. Just in case.”
“I would be glad to visit your kingdom again,” you smiled.
“I thought so,” he nodded.
“I hope these anomalies didn’t make much damage,” you noticed. “I swear, I didn’t do anything to damage it.
“I know,” he nodded. “We can look at it together. And you will be safer next to me. In case nightmares will return.”
“Yes, you’re right,” you nodded.
Somehow this new information made you nervous. But there was still a lot of time till the night. You decided that you need to spend time.
“Maybe we can go to the city,” you suggested.
“I would like you to stay here,” Morpheus said. “I need to check the Dreaming.”
“You can do it later,” you insisted. “When we go there tonight.”
You seemed to see the expression of annoyance on his face. But then he looked absolutely calm again. And looked at you.
“Alright, we can go somewhere,” he said. “But not for too long.”
“We can check if they are in the city,” you admitted. “Maybe they’re hiding somewhere. Ask people around.”
“I don’t think that is a good idea,” Morpheus said.
“Why not?” you asked. “They could notice some new people in the town. And we can check them. Sounds like a plan to me.”
“We can alarm them,” Morpheus admitted. “But it is worth trying.”
“Good, then let’s go,” you smiled.
There weren’t many people on streets. It was quite odd. It was almost evening. Where can they be at this time of day?
And then you felt a little dizzy. Something began to shift around you. Like in a very weird dream.
“Y\N,” Morpheus called, and you felt his hands on your shoulders.
“What is going on?” you asked.
“The border between the Waking world and the Dreaming is shifting,” he replied and embraced you. “And Nightmares are nearby.”
“But why?” you asked, confused and scared. “Didn’t it happen before?”
“Only when Vortex was born, but you’re not one of them,” Morpheus was dead serious. “We need to go to the Dreaming now.”
“Why?” you asked. “You can catch them here.”
“It would be easier to do there,” he declined. “Perhaps they follow us.”
“Alright,” you agree.
And he embraced you before; in a swirl of sand, he teleported you to the Dreaming. A short, dark-skinned woman was very surprised to see you.
“My lord,” she said. “And Y\N. Do you remember me?”
“Vaguely,” you confessed.
“Was something happening?” she asked.
“The border is shifting,” Morpheus replied. “And Nightmares were trying to take her. We need to lure them here.”
“Shifting?” the librarian was shocked. “Does that mean Y\N is vortex?”
“No, I would know,” Morpheus replied. “There must be another explanation. We need to find out what it is and catch nightmares.”
“But…” she looked at me hesitantly.
“She is in danger; that is why she is with me,” the man replied.
“I’m sorry,” you smiled apologetically.
“What exactly happened?” she asked.
“Something changed,” you said. “I can’t explain it. Do you know that weird dream where everything is whimsical?”
“Yes?” she asked.
“It felt like that kind of dream,” you said. “Everything just blurred, and I felt dizzy. And I would probably fall if Morpheus wouldn’t hold me.”
“That something new,” she said. “My lord, are you sure about vortex?”
“Yes,” he said.
“What made you say that this situation is different?” she insisted.
“We would notice this earlier,” he said. “And nightmares escaped to find her. That’s mean Y\N is dangerous or essential for the Dreaming.”
“Corinthian also was haunting the vortex,” she admitted.
“He was living in the Waking world, and these nightmares found their way to escape there to find her,” Morpheus said.
The librarian, whose name was Lucienne, as you recalled right, looked at you more attentively. You felt guilty of something.
“I don't know what’s going on,” you said. “My guess is as good as yours.”
“Then you can help find the answer,” she said.
“Sure,” you shrugged.
Sometimes you were stayed with Lucien at the library, helping her to gather some information. You could feel Morpheus’s presence too. But he was busy, and you almost didn’t talk.
“Hi,” a raven flew in the library. “Do you remember me?”
“Should I?” you asked, not sure.
“I am Matthew!” he said. “We were kind of friends.”
“I’m sorry,” you smiled apologetically again. “My memories are still kind of a mess. And my life is a mess too.”
“How is that?” he asked.
“Well…nightmares seem to haunt me,” you said. “Literally.”
“Not good,” the bird agreed.
“Yes, couldn’t agree more,” you said.
“Matthew, don’t interrupt us,” said Lucienne.
“Oh, he can take a look,” you suggested. “He can fly, and look what is going on in dreaming. And where nightmares are. Right, Morpheus?”
“You can sense me,” he said.
“I can,” you agreed.
“I approved her idea,” Morpheus said. “Go, Matthew.”
“As you wish,” the raven said and flew away.
“Maybe you will show me those parts of the Dreaming that were damaged?” you asked. “Maybe we will figure out something.”
“So now you are ordering me,” he said.
“No, I am suggesting,” you smiled.
And you felt like something like that happened before.
“Do we have this conversation before?” you asked.
“Perhaps,” he smiled.
“So?” you asked. “Are we going or not?”
You actually felt like home in the Dreaming. You should spend a lot of time there. But Morpheus nodded and took you somewhere to the fields. Then you saw it. It was like reality was torn apart. And you can see space in his holes.
“Wow, I didn’t expect this,” you said.
“So did I,” Morpheus replied. “Lucienne thinks that it is something connected to you.”
“I don't know what to say,” you said. “Was it there when I was here?”
“No,” he replied. “It appeared while I was with you in the Waking world.”
“After I woke up,” you admitted. “Do you also think that it’s my doing? I don’t have any powers to do such a thing.”
“No, I don’t think so,” Morpheus said after a minute. “At least I don’t think you could do it on purpose. You didn’t want to be followed by nightmares.”
“Definitely,” you nodded. “How can we fix this?”
“It is my work to do,” he said. “You shouldn’t worry about it.”
He raised a hand in the direction of this anomaly, but nothing had worked. He was confused. And then Morpheus was dead serious.
“What’s wrong?” you asked.
“I don’t know,” he replied. “It didn’t work.”
“Perhaps, it needs something else,” you admitted.
“Perhaps, the reason for the anomaly,” he looked at you.
“Are you suggesting that it needs me?” you asked. “Even if that’s true, I don’t know what I should do. I can’t even remember everything.”
“It’s just a suggestion,” he said. “I want to see how it would behave if you came closer. I will be here if you need me.”
You looked at him with disbelief. How did your peaceful day turn into this? But you sighed and approached this anomaly. You felt…dizzy. You almost heard whispering from here.
“Remember,” you heard.
“What is it?” Morpheus asked. “Can you see something?”
“Yes,” you shake your head. “But maybe it’s dizziness.”
And then you began to fall. Strong arms caught you and didn’t let you fall. Morpheus was looking at you with concern.
“Are you alright?” he asked.
“Yes,” you replied. “Maybe. I’m a little dizzy.”
“I think it’s enough for today,” he said. “I will get you home.”
“But…” you couldn’t argue. In a moment you both were in your flat.
Morpheus put you carefully on the bed. You felt like you were fragile. But it was a good feeling. Dizziness passed away.
“I didn’t need to take you for a long time to the Dreaming,” he said. “Or to let you go to this anomaly. It can be harmful for you.”
“I’m okay, really,” you smiled.
“You should rest,” he said seriously.
Your conversation was interrupted by a phone call. Perhaps you were absent some time in this world, and your family tried to reach you.
“Yes?” You answered the call.
“Where have you been?” your mother asked.
“I told you I will be in my flat,” you said.
“You didn’t pick up the phone,” she replied.
“I was busy, sorry,” you sighed. “Is something wrong, or do you miss me already?”
“Look in the window,” she said.
You looked at Morpheus and then looked through the window. There were some strange scenes out there. Everything was shifting and changing, and it was dark.
“Wow, it is…something,” you whispered. “What time is?”
“It’s just five o’clock,” mother replied. “It shouldn’t be so dark.”
“I need to go, but I’m fine,” you said quickly. “Call you later.”
You finished the call before she could protest and looked at Morpheus. He still was very serious and concerned.
“It is very concerning,” he admitted.
“I can see that,” you said. “What are we going to do?”
“I need to return to the Dreaming,” he said. But then he sighed. “But I think I need to be here. Nightmares are probably here too.”
“It would be appreciated if you would be here,” you said. “But can Matthew find you here?”
“Yes, he can travel between the world's like all ravens do,” he replied. “But I need you to stay here. It’s important.”
“Of course, I don’t want to go into this chaos,” you said.
“If something happens, you will call me or Matthew,” he said.
“Alright,” you agreed.
“You just need say our names,” Morpheus continued.
“You are talking like an overprotective parent who leaves his child home alone for the first time,” you smiled. “I will be okay.”
He paled a little, if it’s possible. And you understand that you probably said something wrong. It made you worry immediately.
“I’m sorry,” you said quickly. “I didn’t mean to offend you.”
“I didn’t know my protectiveness could be seen like this,” Morpheus said.
“It’s not,” you took his hands in yours. “Will you return?”
“As soon as possible,” he nodded and disappeared.
You still felt guilty somehow.
Morpheus
As soon as I left her home, Matthew joined me and sat on my shoulder.
“What did you find out?” I asked.
“There are nightmares nearby,” he said.
“How many?” Morpheus asked.
“A few,” the bird replied. “What are you going to do?”
“To bring them to the Dreaming,” I said. “They can be a threat for Y\N. And to this world. And must be punished.”
“Yes, that made quite a distress to this word,” Matthew noticed.
“Did you see escaped nightmares in the Dreaming?” I asked.
“No,” the raven replied.
I appeared in front of one of the nightmares. That was a blonde woman called Trixie. She looked frightened when she saw me.
“Lord Morpheus,” she hissed.
“You abandoned your place, Nightmare,” I said.
“This anomaly…destroys my home,” she said. “The girl shouldn’t wake up. She needs to stop existing.”
“What are you saying?” I frowned.
“She is dangerous,” the nightmare replied.
“You’re lying,” I said and sent her to the darkness.
But that unpleasant feeling still stayed with me. Anyway, I should find other nightmares.

Dream a little dream of me. Chapter 4. Shards of memories
Tumblr media
Pairing: Morpheus x FemaleReader
Rating: PG
Words: 2470
Notes: Sorry, fpr the long absence. Arcane took my mind and soul XD
Some time ago
A few days passed, and you noticed that he started to seek your presence more. But he was calm and tried not to show that he doesn't actually want to be alone.
“Still no memories?” he asked when you were in the library.
“No,” you sighed. “I’m sorry.”
“You don’t need to apologize to me,” Morpheus said. “I can imagine it’s more inconvenient for you than for me.”
“I suppose so,” you shrugged. “I didn’t feel any concern yet. But I worry that I can be inconvenient for you.”
“Don’t worry about that,” he said.
You just started to know this gentle part of him. Mysterious, handsome, gentle, and a little bit arrogant. But you felt that it’s something more in him.
“Thank you,” you said. “For letting me stay here.”
“I can’t say no to someone who is trying to find peace,” he said. “The Dreaming is the place for everyone who is looking for home.”
“Home,” you said.
“But remember, you can’t stay here forever,” he said seriously. “Mortals can live here. There is your body somewhere in the waking world.”
“But you say this is home,” you admitted.
“Only in dreams,” he said.
“So it’s guest home then?” you smirked.
“Perhaps,” he smirked too. “You come here when you need to rest from everyday life.”
“What about nightmares?” you asked. “You don’t come to rest in a nightmare. It can cause more stress than life.”
“It can teach you,” he became serious again.
“Don’t look at me like that,” you stopped teasing him. “I don’t criticize your work. I am just curious and tease you a little bit.”
“Nightmares have sense,” he said. “They are important. They teach you how to face your fears. Do you remember them?”
“No,” you said.
“Do you want to see one of my nightmares?” he asked.
“Only if you won’t leave me alone with them,” you smiled.
“I would never,” he said and took your hand gently.
You felt the warmth of his hand. Your skin is covered with goosebumps. But it was…a good feeling. You couldn’t fall for him, right?
“Are you alright?” he asked suddenly. “You looked distant.”
“Yes,” you followed him somewhere outside the castle. And then he brought both of you somewhere with sand.
“Where are we going?” you asked.
“You will see,” he replied.
“Always so mysterious,” you said.
He brought to the place in the Dreaming with a dark castle and dark forest. It was truly like the place from some vampire movie.
“Remember, you promised not to leave me behind,” you said.
“Are you ready to explore or not?” he asked.
“You’re terrible,” you smiled. “But show me your way.”
“Perhaps one of your dreams was just like that one,” he mentioned.
“Perhaps,” you said, following him to the castle.
The castle was empty. High stairs, chandeliers. An old piece of furniture.
“Is anyone there?” you asked.
“Do you want for someone to be there?” he asked in return.
“I’m not sure,” you replied. “Are they going to hurt me?”
“No, while I’m with you,” he said.
“It sounds reassuring,” you smiled.
He showed you all the Victorian rooms and furniture, but you didn’t find anyone there.
“Why are we here?” you asked.
He opened another door, and suddenly you saw the ball. People dressed in beautiful clothes, dancing. How didn’t you hear music?
“What is this?” you asked.
“A dream,” Morpheus replied. “Every door is a dream. You can fill it in with your ideas while you’re sleeping.”
“Fascinating,” you whispered.
“Every nightmare can turn into a dream and otherwise,” he said. “But once upon a time I didn’t believe that it was possible.”
“Why?” you asked.
“Because I believe that I can be good only for one thing,” he said, “my function. It’s the only thing I knew.”
“And now?” you asked.
“Now I’m trying to change,” he said.
“I can see that,” you smiled.
“You can’t see that,” Morpheus sighed. “You didn’t know me back then.”
“You were a little bit rude to me,” you replied. “But now you’re trying to be nice. I can see that you can be different.”
“Thank you,” he whispered.
“For what?” you asked. “It is you who is giving me a home.”
“And you’re believing in me,” he said.
Present days
When you woke up, Morpheus wasn’t there. But he left you a cup of coffee, a flower, and a note.
“I’m sorry for not staying,” he wrote. “I need to do something. But I will see you later.”
You felt a little sad that he didn’t stay for breakfast. But you were glad that he will return. You started to prepare breakfast. What did you see in your dream? You were sure you saw Morpheus? Maybe it is your memories.
While you were drinking coffee, your mother called you. She was worried.
“You didn’t come home yesterday,” she said.
“I told you where I was,” you said.
“Are you alone?” she said.
“Mom,” you groaned. “I'm an adult, but yes, I’m alone.”
“I just don’t want someone to use your trust,” she said. “You’re fragile and confused now. Someone can…”
“I think Morpheus is the last person who can hurt me, if you’re implying on him,” you interrupt her. “He is a gentleman.”
“Were you with him yesterday?” she asked.
“In the evening,” you said.
“What were you doing with him?” she asked.
“Talking and drinking tea,” you wrote.
“Will you come home today?” she wrote.
“Yes, I need to take some of my stuff,” you replied.
“Good,” she replied.
“I need to go,” you said. “See you soon.”
You tried to remember what you saw in your dream. You remembered beautiful places and some creatures. They were calling for you. You need to ask Morpheus about this. He should explain you about dreams.
When you left home, you felt like someone was watching you. Even though you didn’t see anyone. But this feeling lingered while you were going home.
“Are you alright?” my mother asked. “You looked worried.”
“I just had a strange feeling,” you said.
“Maybe you moved to your flat too early,” she noticed. “You’re probably still confused and weak after the hospital.”
“I’m fine,” you said. “That’s probably because we met my ex-boyfriend. Please don’t encourage him to talk to me.”
“But instead you’re talking to a complete stranger,” she noticed.
“Morpheus is a good guy,” you said. “And he was nothing but polite and gentle.”
“Alright,” she sighed. “If you’re sure that someone was watching, that I would recommend you to wait for him here.”
“You just want to talk to him,” you admitted. “But you’re probably right. It would be easier if he helped me.”
“See, do you want to eat something?” she asked.
“No, I had breakfast at home. I am going to pack my things,” you replied. “But if Morpheus comes later, we can have dinner together here.”
“Sounds good to me,” Mother nodded.
And you went to your room. You hope that Morpheus will come soon, and you shouldn’t go out alone. And explain everything about dreams.
You perhaps fell asleep because reality seemed to change. You shook your head. Maybe your mother was right, and you’re not completely alright after the accident. Maybe you should take a nap. Then waiting for Morpheus wouldn't be so long.
Morpheus
Early in the morning Matthew found me in the Waking world. And the bird was a little bit concerned. I looked at him with a question.
“What happened, Matthew?” I asked.
“Lucienne is worrying,” he said. “You need to return to the castle. At least listen to what happened. It’s urgent.”
I sighed. Of course, something should happen. I didn’t want to leave her. But what if it’s something dangerous? His world is calling.
“Give a minute,” I said and found a paper and a pen.
I wrote a note for her so she won’t worry. And then returned to his world. I could only hope that it’s for long.
“My lord,” Lucienne was already waiting for him.
“What happened, Lucienne?” I asked, trying to talk without annoyance.
“Something is going on, my lord,” she replied. “Dreaming is shifting, and some dreams and nightmares…they are escaped.”
“Not again,” I frowned.
It took me some time to gather and find some of them last time, and I don’t have this time now. Or I can lose her.
“How many?” I asked.
“Not many,” she said. “But some of them are nightmares. They escaped to the Waking world. And I don’t know why.”
“What about shifting?” I asked. Even though I felt anxiety. She is there, unprotected.
“Some places in the Dreaming are weird,” she replied. “As…a hole to somewhere.”
“And what are your thoughts about that?” I asked.
“I think nightmares escaped through these holes,” she replied. “And perhaps it can have something to do with her.”
“No,” I declined.
“But…” she tried to say.
“It can’t be her,” he said. “She is just a human with amnesia.”
“A human whose mind you couldn’t read,” she admitted. “It should mean something.”
“No, maybe it’s just because her mind was a chaos,” I said.
“We can’t cross out this possibility,” Lucienne admitted. “But I don’t want you to stay out of here. Perhaps you should watch her closer, my lord.”
“And I still need to find nightmares,” I sighed. “Again.”
“I’m afraid so,” she nodded.
“Thank you, Lucienne,” I said. “I need to meet her and make sure that she is alright before I will hunt down my subjects.”
“I will let you know when I find something new,” she nodded.
And I return to the Waking world. Anxious feelings didn’t leave me.
Dreams were weird. You were in a different place, but some odd people surrounded you. They tried to touch you.
“You are back now,” they whispered.
“I don’t know you,” you said. “Please, don’t touch me.”
“Wake up,” you heard and opened your eyes.
Morpheus was in the room and looked concerned. You sat in your bed and looked at him.
“Did my mother let you in?” you said.
“No,” he said. “I felt that you were dreaming, and you were scared. So I came straight to the room to help if I can.”
“Oh, so is everything okay?” you asked.
“For now,” he frowned. “You might be in danger, though.”
“What do you mean?” you asked.
“Some nightmares from my world are gone,” Morpheus replied. “They might be in your world. So I need to find them.”
“And are you to stay with me to protect me?” you said.
“I will need to leave you to find them,” the man replied. “But I will look after you. I will not leave you for long.”
“But you need to stay now,” you smiled. “My mother wants to see you for dinner. So you need to enter through the door.”
“I don’t know if I should…” He didn’t look convinced.
“Common, you want to protect me,” you said. You didn’t know where this bravery and boldness came from in you. “So you should be near. And you go after the dinner.”
“Very well,” he pouted.
He is probably annoyed and concerned, but his pouted face was kind of cute and adorable. You smiled at him gently.
“Don’t be so grumpy,” you said. “It’s just a dinner. So they stop talking about you being a stranger for me.”
“You make sense,” he said. “Wait a minute.”
And he disappeared right in front of you. And you heard knocking when you left your room. And you heard his voice.
“Hello,” Morpheus said politely.
“Oh, do you come for dinner?” your mother asked. “You can wait in the living room. I will call Y/N. And soon her father should come.”
“I’m already here,” you went downstairs. “Hello.”
You smiled at him softly again, and he smiled back at you.
“Hello, are you alright?” he asked.
“Yes,” you smiled. “Are you going to stay for dinner, please?”
“Yes,” he nodded.
“Very well!” Your mother was very glad for this chance to get to know him better. Maybe they will trust him after that.
You showed the man that he can sit at the table, and you sit next to him. Even if Mother perhaps meant for you to sit in front of him.
“So for how long are you planning to stay in our town?” Mother asked.
“For some time,” he replied.
“Mom,” you said awkwardly.
“I’m just curious,” she said without shame.
“I will need to return home for some time too,” Morpheus replied. “But I’m not going to leave your daughter for good.”
“Glad to hear that,” the woman said.
At that moment your father returned, and he was surprised to see your gathering in the kitchen. But he nodded politely to Morpheus.
“Are we going to have family dinner tonight?” he asked.
“We do,” mother replied.
“Just don’t embarrass me, please,” you sighed. “Or Morpheus will never visit us again.”
And he smiled. Probably, he finds this situation funny. You kicked him slightly. He frowned, and you whispered to him.
“Don’t enjoy my suffering.”
“I don’t,” he smiled.
“What are you whispering about?” mother asked, preparing the table.
“Nothing,” you replied quickly.
“We need to talk alone,” Morpheus whispered quietly. “Later.”
“Alright,” you said.
“So tell us, what do you do for a living?” your father asked him.
And Morpheus told him that he has an important job relating to dreams. They were surprised by this answer. Also, it sounds vague.
“Are you a doctor?” your mother asked.
“Something like that,” he replied. “I help…people with sleep.”
“Was it you?” Suddenly you had an idea. “In the hospital when I woke up? I have just remembered that. You helped me.”
They were intrigued by your words. But Morpheus understood what you are trying to do. And decided to stick to your legend.
“That’s right,” he nodded. “I was there when you opened your eyes.”
“That’s not possible,” your mother declined. “We were there when she woke up. And we didn’t see you there.”
“That was before,” he said. “She woke up for a little bit.”
“Yeah, I could hardly remember this moment,” you admitted.
“So you’re working in this hospital,” Father said.
“I was…invited for her case,” Morpheus said. “But I work in another city. And soon I will need to return to work.”
“Unfortunately,” you said.
“But I will return,” Morpheus replied.
Dinner was long and full of questions. You felt exhausted and took Morpheus for a walk. He didn’t mind.
“So, this night I also saw a dream,” you said.
“What dream?” he asked seriously.
“I was in some place,” you replied. “And figures were surrounding me. Do you know what that can mean?
“I think I should stay for longer,” he frowned.
“Do you think I’m in actual danger?” you asked.
“These nightmares could be nearby,” he said. “I will stay with you tonight.”

On April 4, a russian missile hit a playground in Kryvyi Rih, killing 26 people, including 9 children.
Today, April 6, is a day of mourning in Ukraine. We remember and will never forget
russia is a country of terrorists and murderers
So, remember it too. 🥀

International Writers' Day hits different when you're from Ukraine
Just a few stories of Ukrainian writers killed by russia in 2024/25. There are more of them. Keeping their memory alive is the least we can do
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
* Nedopysani is a memorial project to honor those Ukrainian people of literature who were killed by Russia. Our goal is not merely to make a list—we want to celebrate lives of the fallen ones, read their poems and novels, carry on their legacy.
We are the echoes of their voices

ENG: Ugh i’m so done today. Found this on Pinterest where a photoshoot from a Ukrainian photograph, using Ukrainian models, in Ukraine with Ukrainian traditional clothing was stated to be russian. This is blatant disrespect and cultural appropriation and I don’t want to stay silent. The original author of this photo is Anna Senik and she has many other beautiful photos capturing ukrainian garments and not only. These are not the only picture which was stolen by this account and she has many more pictures from ukrainian museums and projects which are labeled as russian. The worst part is that my friend who used to post about Luhansk region on Pinterest decided to close her account because these pictures were stolen from there.

Dream a little dream of me. Chapter 3. Another date
Tumblr media
Pairing: Morpheus x FemaleReader
Rating: PG
Words: 2700
Note: I decided to finish this fanfic and it won't be Pov but You insert fic again
“So how did you spend time?” asked mother during the breakfast.
“Good,” You replied. “We went to a restaurant. And then take a walk to the park, and he walked me home. He was gentle.”
“Be careful with him," she said.
“I know, alright?” You sighed. “Don’t ruin the moment.”
“What are you going to do tonight?” she asked.
“I’m not going to wait for tonight," you said. “We are going to the date in the light of the day. To the coffee shop first.”
“Did you plan this date?” asked dad.
“Yes, today it was me," you nodded.
«Do you like this guy?” he asked suddenly.
You froze. Do you like him? Yes, you suppose so. It was something in him that makes you want to meet him again and listen to his velvet voice, look into the blue eyes, and...touch him. Even kiss him. His lips are very seductive.
“Your facial expression told me everything,"  father admitted.
“Don’t look at me then,"  you murmured, blushing.
“I am happy for you," he said. “But it would be nice if you invited him for dinner one day. I want to look at him.”
“Just look and no threats?” You smiled.
“I promise not to threaten him," he smiled back.
You picked a simple black dress for this. And you still looked like you're going to the date. So you picked a pink t-shirt and skirt. And you were satisfied with this look. It was cute and casual. You still have this feeling like he doesn’t care for your clothes because he sees your soul.
And finally, the time for another date has come. You heard the ring on the door and hurried to open. He was in black clothes. Now it was t-shirt and jeans. And Morpheus still looked awesome.
 «Is everything alright?” he asked.
“Yes,” you smiled awkwardly. “You just look stunning.”
“You look beautiful yourself," he smiled. “Pink suits you as well. Shall we go?”
“Yes”, you closed the door behind you and took his hand.
His fingers were warm, and his skin was silky and white. He was like a dream himself. You were walking for a half an hour when you noticed that everyone was looking at you.
“What’s wrong?” he sensed your anxiety.
“I think everyone is looking at you," You said. “Or at us. I dressed in pink, and you are in black. Like earth and sky.”
“Is it bothering you?” he asked.
“Perhaps,” you replied. “I just do not get used to attention.”
He certainly did something, and people stop paying attention to you. You looked at him with surprise.
“What did you do?” You asked.
“I just made him see other things," he smirked. “You don’t need to worry. Your reputation won’t hurt from this.”
“My reputation?” you smiled.
“Maybe, you are afraid to be seen with me,” he said.
“It’s not like that," you smiled. “I just really don’t get used to attention. I’m flattered to be seen with such a…”
You shut up and blushed. You couldn’t believe you almost said a compliment to him again. But of course he notices it.
“What?” he asked, smirking.
“With such a handsome man,” you whispered.
“Then I will return everything as it was," Morpheus admitted. “And you don’t need to worry. No one thinks badly about you.”
“Can you read their minds?” You asked.
“I can read their thoughts that are concerning us,” he replied.
“Oh, I see,” you smiled, and finally took him to a small but cozy café. “Do you often visit such places?”
“No, only when I meet a friend of mine or walking with my sister," he said, and let you take him to the table. “She loves to know about human experience.”
“Oh, you have a sister,” you acknowledged.
“Yes, she is one of my siblings,” he said.
“How many siblings do you have?” You asked.
“Six,” Morpheus replied. “But I don’t want to talk about them. We don’t have a good relationship. They are too much to handle.”
“Yes, I can imagine that," you admitted.
“I doubt so,” he replied. “My family isn’t overprotective like yours. They can be selfish. They like to dwell in my affairs. Some even can endanger my life.”
“Oh, I’m sorry,” You said. His words surprised you.
“You don’t need to apologize; it’s not your fault,” he said.
“I think it can affect you,” you said. “It can make you close up and give you trust issues. For now, the cure will be the chocolate cake for you.”
“I don’t need food to heal,” he smirked.
“Please?” You smiled. “And you need to try a coffee here. It’s decent”.
“Very well,” he replied and made an order.
“We have a less formal atmosphere in the café," you smiled. “Especially when we want to talk and find out more about each other.”
“I already told you something about me,” he admitted. “Now, I suppose, is your turn. Are you going to stay with your parents?”
“No, I am going to return to my own flat tomorrow,” You said. “You can visit me here also without my parent’s supervision.”
“Do you trust me enough to invite me to your place?” he smiled in return.
“You trust me too,” you smiled. “Or am I wrong? Perhaps, you can tell me about what we were doing in my dreams.”
“It will be a long story,” he admitted. “And I won’t tell you everything in one time. It can be too much for today.”
“But you can tell me at least something,” you said.
“Yes”, he nodded and started his story.
Some time ago
Morpheus
“Sister, I need your assistance,” I said to Death’s sigil. She answered almost immediately. And appeared in my realm.
“What happened, little brother?” she smiled gladly at him.
“I want to talk about the girl in my castle,” I replied. “She is a mortal.”
“Well, you have never needed my advice about some dreamers in your realm,” she said. “That happens sometime, when some of them appear near your castle, right?”
“Yes,” I nodded. “But there is something strange about her. She doesn’t remember anything. And I couldn’t look into her dreams.”
“Oh?” she asked. “That is fascinating.”
“I think someone is blocking her memories from me,” I said. “Do you have any idea on this matter? Do you know her?”
“Can you allow me to meet her?” she asked in return. “I want to see her and her situation as myself. Maybe I will sense something.”
“Very well,” I nodded. “Let’s go”.
Of course, she was reading in the Fiddle’s green. It reminds Alice in Wonderland. She smiled when she saw.
“Hello, Lord Morpheus,” she said. “And…?”
“Call me D,” Death smiled. “I’m his sister.”
It wasn't necessary to say this. But the girl smiled with curiosity.
“Nice to meet you, D,” she said. “Is something happening?”
“That what I want to know,” Death answered. “Dream told me about your situation and the lack of memory. Don’t you mind if I look?”
“Alright”, she replied, but a little bit unsure.
Death touched her hand, and the girl screamed in surprise. She became pale, and then my sister let her go.
“You were right,” she said. “I can’t see anything, too.”
“What does that mean?” the girl asked.
“That can be powerful magic,” sister said. “And that is the mystery. I tried to ask our brother what they know.”
“Do you think I’m alive?” she suddenly asked.
“Yes, you are,” Death smiled at her gently. “Perhaps, you are in deep sleep. But we don’t know what the cause of it was.”
“Do you think Destiny will tell you something?” I asked.
“Perhaps, I can only try,” she said. “What about your books? I thought you had dreams of all the humans in your library.”
“We couldn’t find it,” I said.
“That is a mystery indeed,” she smiled. “It was nice to meet you.”
“Likewise”, the girl smiled.
“See you soon, little brother,” she said and disappeared.
“She was nice,” the girl admitted.
“She was,” I agreed. “Did you spend all the time here reading?”
“Yes,” she said. “Is that ok? I just don’t want to interrupt you.”
“It’s okay,” I replied. “Do you want to take a walk?”
“Sure," she quickly stands up. “I thought, maybe, you show something in your world? I didn’t want to come somewhere forbidden.”
“You shouldn’t be here at all,” I admitted. “But while you're there, I suppose I can show you a few places. Let’s go”.
I showed her castle and some places around it. She was amused by the things she saw.
“I like it,” she confessed. “Your world. Thank you for showing me it.”
“But it doesn’t mean that you should stay here forever,” he said. “I showed you, because you stay here for some time anyway.”
“I know that," she sighed. “Do you still think that I’m trying to stay here on purpose? I can tell that it’s not funny, when you don’t have memories.”
“But you remember what you like,” I admitted. “Maybe you can remember something else. Some feelings perhaps?”
“I’m not sure," she replied. “I have the feeling though that I need to find some answer in the book. But I can’t find it.”
“What answer?” I asked.
“I don’t know,” she said desperately. “I would tell if I knew or remembered something. I promise, I will tell you.”
“Very well,” I agreed. “I believe you.”
Present days
“So you mysteriously met me in your dreams,” you said.
“Indeed,” he replied.
“And did you try to find me in real life?” you looked at him.
“I tried,” he nodded. “Fortunately, it wasn’t too long.”
“How did you know where to find me?” you asked.
“I know where you wake up,” Morpheus replied.
“So why are you afraid to tell me more?” you asked.
“I’m afraid that you’re going to be confused,” he replied. “And it won’t help you to get back your memories.”
“So for how long are you going to stay here?” you asked.
“For a few weeks,” he shrugged.
“And you hope to return my memories meanwhile,” you admitted.
“I hope so, yes,” pain appeared in his eyes.
Perhaps he missed you more than he admitted.
“And what if I won’t remember you?” you asked.
“I will return home,” he replied simple.
“But I…” I blushed and shut up. What is going on with me if I don’t want to let go of him? The man I don’t know.
“What?” he looked at me.
“I want to know you better,” you said. “I don’t want you to leave yet.”
“I’m not leaving,” he smiled softly. “It gives me hope.”
You thought that his smile was charming. And he is the most handsome man ever.
“I’m glad,” you said. “Let’s go and rest somewhere.”
“Let’s go,” he nodded.
“So, what else were we doing in your world?” you asked.
“A lot of things,” he smiled. “Tell me, what are you going to do when you will feel better?”
“I’m already feeling better,” you smiled. “But then…I don’t know... Probably, you should find some work to do.”
“Did you have someone before?” he asked.
“What?” you asked surprised. “Are you jealous?”
“No,” he replied, but avoided your gaze.
You remember your ex haunted you earlier. The memories of you two seem distant and blurry now. You didn’t remember why you were together.
“I had, but we broke up before accident,” you said.
He sighed with relief. Is he really jealous?
“Are you afraid that my heart was taken?” you smirked.
“Perhaps,” Morpheus replied. “You had no memories back then. It was concerning. I thought that someone should care for you here.”
“Like my parents,” you admitted.
“Yes, probably,” he smiled.
“I’m glad that you took care of me there,” you smiled back. “Dreamers are happy while you’re here, making comfort dreams.”
“Perhaps not every dream brings comfort,” he said. “And not everyone thinks that I… am good and glad to know me.”
“It’s hard to believe in that,” you noticed.
“I’m glad that you think so,” Morpheus replied. “But how do I think I need to bring you back so you can rest?”
“No, I feel good,” you refused, feeling like a naughty child. “I don’t waste my time being... without you.”
“I insist,” he smiled softly and paid for our coffee.
“Then I have an idea,” you said. “We can go to my flat. The time has come to return there. And there no one can interrupt us.”
“Won’t your parents be worried?” the man asked.
“I will write them,” you smirked. “Later.”
“Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Morpheus asked.
“We can just drink tea,” you noticed.
“Then lead the way,” he smiled.
You didn’t know why you trusted him that much to show him your apartment, but deep inside you feel that it’s safe.
“Home sweet home,” you said, opening a door.
“It feels…like you.” He admitted.
“Oh?” you smiled.
“I can sense your dreams here,” he said. “Your hopes.”
“And what my dreams are about?” you asked.
“Books, traveling,” he replied. “Love.”
“And what about love?” you asked.
“You dream about special love that makes your hearts beat faster,” he said, stepping closer. “The one you can fight for.”
“Very good depiction,” you admitted.
He smiled softly and touched my hair. You can sense the heat he radiated. Your body reacted like you knew him very well.
“And what are your dreams about?” you whispered.
“Love,” he said. “Someone who I can share the eternity with. Someone who won’t run away after the smallest trouble.”
“I can understand it,” you smiled.
“Why aren’t you afraid of me?” he asked.
“I feel something,” you said. “A connection.”
“Good,” he nodded.
“Tea?” you offered. Going to the kitchen.
“You shouldn’t worry,” Morpheus admitted.
“But the conversation with a tea is much better,” you smiled.
At that moment mother’s patience ran out, and she sent you a message:
“Where are you?” she wrote.
“At my apartment,” you replied.
“Are you alright?” the mother asked.
“I’m perfectly fine,” you replied, and you put the phone aside.
“Is everything alright?” Morpheus asked.
“Yes, just mom got worried,” you replied. “Don’t worry, I told her where I am. I just didn’t tell him that I’m still with you.”
“Maybe it wasn’t a wise decision,” Morpheus admitted.
“I don’t think so,” you said. “I have a feeling that I can trust you. You won’t hurt me, will you?”
“No,” he smiled. “Instead, I wish to know who sat up catastrophe and harmed you. You could die in this accident.”
“Maybe it was just an accident,” you admitted.
Will get to know what happened,” he promised.
“You’re very serious,” you smiled. “I believe you.”
You handed him a cup, and he took it. His fingers touched you, and you felt something. A warmness. And you saw pieces of memories.
“Are you alright?” he asked, concerned.
“Yes, just pieces of memories, I supposed,” you replied. “I’m ok.”
“What did you see?” he asked.
“Us,” you said. “Together.”
“You need to rest,” the man insisted. “I don’t want to tire you. I can go.”
“No, you can stay,” you said quickly.
“Are you sure?” he asked. “I don’t want to prevent your rest.”
“You can sleep in the living room,” you said. What were you thinking? “I can prepare a sofa for you. I don’t want to be alone.”
He was silent for a few moments. Perhaps, he was considering. You weren’t sure it was a good idea either. But then he nodded.
“Very well,” he nodded and took off his coat. “I will help you.”
He was so thin but strong. You couldn’t unsee his white skin and long neck. But you should concentrate on preparing the room for him. And you tried not to think about what your parents will tell you if they find out.
“I’m grateful,” he said.
“No, I am grateful that you stay,” you smiled. “Good night.”
“Good night,” he said softly.
You hid in your bedroom and sighed. What are you doing? What if he is delirious? And made up all the story to gain your trust? No, it can’t be true. He is too charming, gentle, and kind for this. And he seems really concerned for you.

A russian drone with a high-explosive warhead attacked the 'sarcophagus' of the destroyed Chornobyl NPP Unit 4
A fire broke out there after the impact, it has been extinguished. The radiation background has not increased so far. Preliminary reports indicate that the damage to the sarcophagus is significant.
Look at how badly Russia wants peace! According to the new US government, of course. Look at the actions of a completely normal, non-terrorist country that only wants peace and safety.

How to love a dream. Bonus chapter. Christmas
Tumblr media
Pairing: Morpheus x FemaleReader
Rating: PG
Words: 370
Morpheus
“You can give a present any time,” I admitted. “So I don’t need one. You didn’t own me anything, my love.”
“I know,” she replied. “But it’s a tradition. I want to make you this gift. Didn’t anyone make you any gifts?”
“No,” I replied, and tried to recall when I receive the gift last time. “It was a long time ago.”
“That’s so unfortunate,” she admitted. “I will make it up to you, I promise.”
“You’re too kind,” I smiled.
“Nonsense,” she kissed my cheek. “I love you.”
I wasn’t quite used to these words. And I felt blushing.
“You’re too cute when you are blushing,” she said cheerfully.
“I’m not cute,” I replied.
“Alright, alright,” she laughed. “Let’s go to the table. I want to eat already.”
“Shouldn’t we wait for Hob?” I asked.
We decided to invite Hob for Christmas too. He was the one who brought us together. If he doesn’t have other plans. And the man agreed.
“If he comes an hour later, I won’t leave him anything,” she said.
And at this moment, someone rang to the door. I opened, and of course it was Hob Gadling. He smiled and brought present.
“Did I miss all the fun?” he smiled.
“Not yet,” Y\n appeared and took the present. “But you were close, professor. But Morpheus had your best interests in mind.”
“I came just in time,” he said, and entered.
“Come to the table,” Y\n said.
I felt relief when we gathered together near the table. It was less tense than the previous time, when we had dinner in the Hob’s flat.
“Do you remember how hostile you were the last dinner?” Y\n remembered as well.
“And I’m truly sorry,” I sighed.
“I know, love,” she smirked. “I’m teasing.”
“So are you immortal like me?” Hob smiled.
“I think so,” she replied. “You need to ask Morpheus. But his sister is very sweet. She said that she is glad for us.”
“So now you’re my immortal student?” he joked.
“That sounds terrible,” she sighed.
Finally, everything was right. I felt happy. And I hope that I can make Y\N happy too. I felt hope. And I won’t mess everything again.
