Three SoCal wildfires now

The Thomas fire, in Ventura County. 45,000 acres, destroying at least 150 structures and forcing 27,000 people to evacuate.

The Creek fire, near Sylma, in Los Angeles County. 11,000 acres. 2,500 homes were evacuated.

The Rye fire, which just started, near Santa Clarita, in Los Angeles County. 500 acres.

This is now the 5th wildfire currently burning in SoCal. The Creek Fire has prompted the evacuation of 100,000 people and the number of evacuations will grow due to the highly populated area around the Skirball Fire. The governor declared a state of emergency yesterday but so far the federal government has offered no aide. Keep us in your prayers.

anyone in Ventura County please keep all your windows and doors shut, if you need to be outside, put on goggles (or sunglasses) and a gas mask (or a bandana). smoke is very dangerous to anyone, especially those with health issues and the young and elderly so PLEASE take the proper precautions while we’re dealing with this fire.

PSA: Ventura County Fires

Hey, not sure how many of you live in Ventura County, so I’m not sure if this will affect you in any way. However, I live in Ventura County and right now there is a HUGE brush fire that started Monday evening December 4th. Since then 27000 people have been evacuated and I think 4500 or 45000 (can’t remember at this very moment) acres have been touched by the fires. There have also been mass power outages, as in the entire county has lost power.

If you are affected, please listen to law enforcement. Take all safety precautions. Make sure you have working flashlights and warm clothes as it’s super windy and getting cold. Make sure you have nonperishable foods and lots of water. Please take your pets, do not abandon them. For more information you can check out readyventuracounty.org

There they have listed the evacuated areas and evacuation shelters. I think they have numbers to call if you need help with pets or if the elderly need help with transportation. Fortunately, as of right now, I am fine and not too close to the fires. If I believe so, the winds are pushing it opposite my house. But there is smoke everywhere, so please be weary of that as well. Stay safe everyone
