I think one of the kindest things you can do for people with various mental health struggles is just... let people back into your life after they've been absent for a while.

Making friends as an adult is so fucking hard already and isolating yourself from other people is a very common symptom of depression, anxiety, burnout, ocd, trauma, grief, etc. Which means that someone will do the hard work of recovery/healing and resurface back into a world where their previous friends have written them off because they stopped showing up.

So if you know someone where you're like "yeah we could have been better friends but they fell off the map a bit" and that person suddenly reaches out, or starts showing up to events even though you kind of forgot they were still in the group chat... well they may have been Going Through It and you don't actually have to punish them for their absence you can just be glad that they're back.

This is Krillissssk, the Ilion’s security officer. Krill’ to his cohorts if you want to incur his wrath (you don’t, but people do it anyway). He’s a 7’3 insectoid alien from the planet Beelzebub. Prideful. Quick to anger. Enjoys a challenge. Serves Is in the employment of lesser life forms vertebrates. Harder to kill than an armed Cockroach and five times as deadly. Probably sounds like some variety of Scott McNeil!

Believe it or not: despite the non-human face, he’s VERY good at speaking English (well, more so than Paz anyway)! Thanks to a complexly articulated larynx that allows his species to terrifyingly mimic the calls of their prey, he can even do a spot on impression of YOU🫵!

BTS Notes: His coloration is actually based off of the Mjolnir Security Officer from Bungie’s Marathon trilogy. It was almost bright green until I realized I already had two other characters who had that same color…

This was also before I learned how to use vectors… yeah… he was also much skinnier!

Oh god should I even mention them here..? What are the odds that they’ll block me here too? I’m a firm believer in credit where it’s due, but they told me they consider these sketches mine even though they’re clearly not. They’ll probably see this, too… I wish I could talk to them again… They’re not just an artist, they’re one of my best friends… I wish I could clear the water, find out why they’re blocking me… I fear it’s shown above…

Whatever. Look in previous posts for the artist. It’s the same one. They were a big help in redesigning Krillissssk and designing a lot of my other characters too. They’re very talented and helpful.

Well, hopefully I’ll finish my villain dump soon! For now: That’s my main cast! Maybe I’ll find someone to help me design my ship, too. I’d do it myself, but I’ve been struggling with it…

This. Is my second time trying to post this. After having lost it due to poor internet the first time… and being disheartened for a few days…

No stupid, it’s not my villain dump! I’m still working on that!

Why it’s First Lieuteneral Space Captainface my final human characters for my main roster: The Brothers Spearman!

Let’s get into it! And hopefully not lose this to the digital void!

First up is Bill, the elder Spearman! Freighter Captain, history enthusiast, Astromarine Corps dropout. He’s basically a fictionalized me with less facial hair the apparent main protagonist. Though, that mostly depends on the episode…

Relevant info. No, military training did nothing to make him less lanky.

Oh, and you’ve definitely seen him before. But I hadn’t finalized his design yet…

And making his digital debut: Alex Spearman, the Ilion’s copilot and first mate! He’s cynical, but he’s not a bad guy. Also, despite being 6’ and more toned, the fact that he’s shorter than Bill kinda gets to him. Even though it shouldn’t.

I originally envisioned him looking closer to Bill, but my self-imposed strategy for “vocal and visual variety” mad me sprinkle in some Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo into his design. There’s also a bit of Dallas from ‘Alien’ in there too.

See? Atleast he’s more responsible than him! Except about waking up on time, but can you blame him? Also: whereas his brother is kinda sweet on Kichoria, he is… not… quite the opposite in fact. But maybe she’ll grow on him..? Who knows! I DO!

Anyways… hopefully I’ll have more to show! Like my villain dump. Although…

Heard of him? No? Now you have.

I’ve been commissioning him on and off for pieces since, like, December of last year. He does quality works in a sorta pixelated style. And I do mean quality…

First one he did was of my alien plant girl Kichoria. Because of course I did…

The literal next day, I used my Christmas bonus to pay for two more characters: Cleo and Roswell as she breaks his spine leans on him.

Yeah. These two pieces are currently the backgrounds of my computer and iPad.

But I commissioned those awhile ago, how about something more recent?

Here’s a Full Color piece of Cleo with her custom built flamethrower! Gad didn’t skimp out on the flames for this piece.

There are other pieces I’ve commissioned from him, but you’re not ready for those… By that I mean he’s one of the select few I’ve trusted with Kichoria’s full colors and hasn’t read my script…

Anyway, you should check out @th3gadfly! He made his move back here from Twitter and I figure he could use more followers here. He has a superhero comic that’s very good reading, very reasonable prices for comms, and he’s just a decent guy all around! Oh and he’s got furry female fighting game idea, if that’s your thing. It is for me…

Whoa! Hey! Sooooo… Twitter’s disintegrating, something about Muskrats setting fire to 75% of the load bearing staff or something… so I’m probably gonna be here more often as I look for alternatives! Hopefully they let people post the sex again after giving us the ability to post boobs again…

Anywho… I’ve updated Kichoria’s design!

…Yeah, much better proportions imho.

Also: Ship layout! Maybe I’ll get around to a full design at some point… maybe I’ll swallow my pride, pull together some money, and commission it… I don’t know…

For the sake of productivity, I’ve started working on full episodes out of order. I’ll work out the continuity later…

So far, I have episodes 11 and 6 finished. I’m particularly proud of episode 6… managed to get it just inside the minimum page limit I set. Usually I go over it…

More to come for sure! I have a Villain Dump in my draft and a new main character design that I intend for another two for one!
