Hanging out with them for the first time

A few hours later, both Izumi and Setsuka were starting to get tired of unpacking. Setsuka decided to take a break and picked her phone to see what time it was. As she checked her phone, she saw some texts from Panda and Izumi in their family group chat:

Izumi was the first to arrive in the common room. As she came in, the group greeted her and invited her to join them around the table. Izumi sat between Maxi and Toge, leaving an empty place for Setsuka next to Nobara and Megumi. The first thing she noticed when she entered the room was the delicious aroma surrounding the place!

“It really smells amazing!I’m soooo hungry”, claimed Izumi.

“Is your cousin coming? We’re starving!”,wondered Maki.

“I guess so.. she said she’d be on her way as soon as she finishes her last boxes..”  At the same moment, Setsuka came in and exclaimed: “wow it smells so good in here!! I’m so hungry I could eat an elephant, sorry for the wait  by the way I really wanted to unpack as much as I could today!” 

“Well I hope you’ll settle for chicken”, said Megumi.

“Oh-Oh my god Megumi.. D-did you attempt to make a joke?? HAHAHAHA oh god Fushiguro, since when are you such a clown HAHAHAHAHA”, cried Nobara. 

“Tsk, shut up”

With Megumi’s reaction, everybody bursted out laughing. 

“Is it ready yet?”, asked Nobara.

“Salmon, Salmon”, confirmed Toge.

“ALRIGHTY, let’s dig in”, said Izumi excitedly! 

“WOW!! These meatballs are great!! Who made them?”, asked Maki. 

“Oh, I did.” announced Fushiguro. 

“Mustard leaf”

There was a moment of silence as they were all surprised to learn that Megumi could cook so well, then Nobara broke it with: “You can cook for yourself? Not really surprising, actually.”

“No, Itadori taught me how to make these..” 

“I see”, answered Nobara with sadness written all over her face. 

Before she could stop herself Setsuka asked: “Who’s Itadori?” 

“He was a 1st year.. Sukuna’s vessel.. he passed away a few days ago..” replied Panda. 

 “He was a good friend.. He deserved better..” added Megumi, his eyes glistening. 

“I’m really sorry.. I didn’t know..”

“It’s fine.. How could you have known?”, replied the latter with a sad smile. 

“To Yuji!” , cheered Nobara. 

They continued their meal in silence until Maki broke it with a question: “ So why were you two sent to Kyoto if you’re Yaga’s daughters?” 

“hmmm actually it was a punishment.. The elders sent us there because we were slacking off and not taking the whole sorcerer thing seriously..”, explained Izumi.

“It wasn’t Yaga’s decision though.. They said it was too risky to have us not trained properly.. as if we were dogs, tsk.” added Setsuka. 

“Why did the elders get involved tho? I’m pretty sure you were not the only two curse-users that didn’t care much about the whole sorcerer thing?” questioned Megumi.

“Salmon”, Inumaki said, curious. 

“For real Panda, are you ashamed of us? How come you never talked about us to your friends?” complained Izumi. 

Before Panda tried to reject Izumi's claims, Setsuka retorted: “For starter, we were supposed to be executed with our family when we were young and Yaga made a contract with them to spare our lives. Secondly, it might be because we’re Special-grades users. I guess it was too risky to let us do whatever we wanted.. anyway that’s what we deduced from what we've heard.. They never really explained anything to us” 

Everybody but Panda looked at them with wide eyes: “SPECIAL GRADES?? YOU’RE KIDDING RIGHT??”, said Maki.  

“Salmon Salmon”

“Show us your student IDs!!”, demanded Nobara. 

“See, that’s why I barely talked about you two.. No one would have believed me..” said Panda, bummed out. 

As they showed their IDs to their new classmates, they could see the astonishment on their faces: “Wow, they were actually telling the truth.” gasped Nobara. 

“Of course we were!Why would we lie about something like that? flexing nonexistent skills are not really our thing.”. Setsuka was annoyed. 

“Oh Tonkatsu, you know they didn’t mean it that way. We don’t exactly look that strong and you know it!”, scolded Izumi. 

“I guess” grumbled Setsuka.

“We’re glad to have you on our sides then” laughed Maki

“Yeah well we won’t go berserk in the inter-school event either.. We're gonna keep it low profile” said Izumi. 

“Igura?”

“Yeah why?” followed Megumi. 

“Let’s just say that we have.. limitations.. We’re not allowed to use our full powers.. Because of the contract you know” 

“Kinda like Yuta at first” explained Panda. 

“I mean even then, we can still hold our own in hand-to-hand combat and our cursed techniques are still on point”, pressed Izumi “I even won against Todo once”, added the latter with a smirk.

“Izu, we’ve been through this already, that pea-brain let you win back then.”

“No he didn’t, I won fair and square!! Setsuka insists that Todo has a soft spot for me so he let me win on purpose back then, but that’s simply impossible! Todo is not that kind of guy .”

“If you say so, Izumi. Let’s just say that I never won against him, but that you never won against me either, which means we're equally strong” 

“Alright girls, let’s spar tomorrow then! We’ll see what you’ve got!”, defied Maki, winking.

Izumi and Setsuka Fujiki first day at Tokyo Jujutsu High.

“Hey Setsuka, are you done packing? Do you still have room for that?” 

Izumi asked, barging into her cousin’s soon to be empty dorm room. After moving to Kyoto two years ago,  as a punishment for their lack of staidness, it was finally time for  Izumi and Setsuka to go back home. After a meeting between their adoptive father Yaga, principal Gakuganji and the elders, it had been determined that the Fujiki girls had matured enough to transfer back to Tokyo. 

“What for, that old thing? Do you really need all that stuff Nezumi?” questioned Setsuka, glancing at the frog lamp the smaller girl was holding .. Izumi looked at her with pleading eyes and as she was going to start begging, Setsuka nodded towards a half-full box. Once they were done packing, Professor Utahime accompanied the girls to the school entrance, where Ichiji was waiting for them. As they were saying their goodbye,they could see tears blurring Utahime’s vision: “ I’m going to miss teaching you everyday, take good care of you two, okay?”

Before their teacher could start crying, Setsuka dropped her last bag in the trunk before slamming it shut: “ Don’t go all soft on us, teach! Besides, we'll see each other in a few months for the tournament! We’ll be just fine, so don’t worry about us! Take care, sensei!” Setsuka entered the car first and called her cousin: “You coming Izu?” 

Izumi said her goodbye and hugged their teacher one last time before following Setsuka. 

As they were taking off, the girls opened their car windows and yelled: “UTAHIME-SENSEI!! WE WON’T FORGET TO SAY HI TO YOUR BOYFRIEND FOR YOU”. 

They both giggled as they could see their teacher fuming in the rear mirror. 

*3 hours later* 

“We’re here misses, how does it feel to be back home?” 

“Thank you for the ride Ichiji! I’m so happy!! I couldn’t stand most of our classmates at Kyoto High and we won’t even start about Gakuganji.. Besides, I really missed our family! Isn't it great to be here,right Tonkatsu?” Izumi answered first. 

“Right Nezumi! But nothing really changed, did it? After the school was destroyed last year you’d think they’d have made a few mods but nope, nada.. anyway, feels great to be back! Thanks Ichiji! How much time do we have to settle before our next mission?” replied Setsuka as she stretched her arms.

“ Your father granted you 2 days before you officially start in your respective classes. Before that you are welcomed to walk around the campus and maybe introduce yourselves to your new classmates! Oh and about your brother, he still doesn’t know that you two are back! On that note, I need to drive Gojo to his meeting with your father! It’s great to have you back on the school grounds! Take care!” 

After Ichiji left, the Fujiki cousin’s moved in direction of their rooms. Before they could make it to the dorms, they were interrupted by a group of people: 

“ OI, you two! You’re not from here! Identify yourself!” called a dark haired girl with glasses. The group was constituted of 5 individuals. Two girls, two boys and the very familiar face of their adoptive brother. “Don’t make her repeat herself, so who are you?” said the other girl. 

Setsuka noticed her cousin’s startled face and the tears welling up in her eyes, before the white haired girl could make a snarky comment about how welcoming the people in Tokyo were,  she was cut by the very loud and familiar voice of Panda: “NEZUMI?? TONKATSU?? YOU’RE HERE????” exclaimed Panda as he was lifting the two girls in a tight hug.

 “Panda!!! I missed you so much big bro” 

“ Come on you brute! You’re choking me!! Is it a way to treat your sisters?” 

The group was shocked by what the black and white duo had claimed: 

 “Brother? sisters? Panda, you have siblings?” said the sea urchin looking guy. “Salmon” replied a white haired boy. 

“Yeah, well they’re adopted but we still grew up and were raised together by Yaga!!  If I recall, I only mentioned them once or twice to Toge!” explained Panda. The bear then turned to his sisters and said: “I had no idea you guys were coming to visit! Why didn’t you text me? Anyway I’ll introduce y’all! So first here, we have Zenin Maki, she’s a second like us Izumi! Maki is a cursed weapon specialist! She’s really good at hand to hand combat” 

The dark haired girl with glasses from earlier then said: “Sorry about earlier. Since the attack last year we’re wary of strangers” 

The Fujiki girls nodded. Panda continued: “ Then we have Inumaki Toge! He’s also in second! He’s a cursed speech user so he voluntarily limits his vocabulary to Onigiri ingredients to keep people around him safe!We’re also all learning sign-language to make communication easier” 

“Kelp” said Toge looking at the girls, before making eye contact with Izumi’s teary eyes. 

“Then we have the first years! Kugisaki Nobara, she also uses cursed weapons and has a voodoo technique.” Nobara introduced herself and Panda moved to the last member of their small group: “and lastly we have Fushiguro Megumi! He is a ten-shadows user! Gojo is his guardian! So yeah these two are the same year as you Setsuka!” 

The boy named Megumi only nodded at the girls and waved slightly!   

“ Well nice to meet you all!! I’m Fujiki Izumi! I use an invocation-type cursed technique. I’m looking forward to training with you all! I hope we can become friends!Let’s exchange our numbers so we can all chat” 

“ I’m Fujiki Setsuka. I’m a curse-transmuter and manipulator. And we’re not only visiting this time, Panda! We’re transferring back here. I hope y’all started training for the tournament? We’re ready to kick Kyoto’s ass, so I hope y’all know how to fight.”

“ARE YOU FOR REAL??? WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME???” 

“Surprise” replied Izumi, she then continued with: “Anyway, let’s hangout later today, yeah? I’m pretty sure our boxes have arrived by now and we really need to set up our rooms so we’ll get going, nice to meet you all!” 

After the girls left to their respective rooms, Maki and Nobara bombarded Panda with questions about his adoptive sisters. As they left for the training grounds, Megumi and Toge  followed and listened attentively to Panda’s answers. After Yuji’s death and Yuta’s departure, they all hoped that these two would be a good addition to the team and hopefully they would become good friends.
