Project 2 Statement
My goal for project 2 starts with maintaining communication to the viewer using the power of typography and motion. I did not want to solely rely on illustrations and if I did it is seen as a secondary element throughout the film. With freedom to do anything for this project, I chose to do something silly, nostalgic, and fun, and nothing to me meets these requirements the way Spongebob does. For typography I drew inspiration mainly from title sequences seen throughout various Spongebob episodes and did my best to choose fonts that best reflect each audible character in the clip. Colour also takes inspiration from each character and movement is added to create more emotion for stronger impact in the way they appear on screen. During the making of this project, the creator of Spongebob, Stephen Hillenburg passed on November 28, 2018 and encourages the decision to do a clip from his master piece, Spongebob Squarepants. Rest In Peace Stephen Hillenburg.

Exercise 3: Health Mart For this exercise I decided to stick with the original logo, but changed the font to Helvetica Neue. I wanted to treat this exercise as if Health Mart were a real client asking to create a motion graphic for their company. In this case this exercise allows me to test my abilities to adapt towards a company’s brand and look into their core values, voice, tone, and language in order to get a good grasp on how to identify them through motion. The limitations were challenging but creates a starting point to work and play with to get the job done.

Project 1: Scrib Con
A made up event for my type in motion class. Scrib is a convention that celebrates the art of doodle. This event would work similarly towards a zine convention where artists can gather and sell their illustrative work as a community of doodlers. In this motion graphic the featured artists that would appear are @mrdoodle @keithharingofficial @differantly The doodles displayed are inspired by their art style.
