As we reopen, the race to embrace change begins.
As we reopen, the race to embrace change begins. What the future might hold for small business and restaurants. #covid19 #savehospitality #onetable #onpoli #cdnpoli @restaurantsca
In case you missed the news this week, the majority of the province is reopening for business. Adapted for the age of COVID-19 of course. The big part of that is the fact that restaurants are now able to open patios for sit down service. It raises the question of what the future of the industry is going to be.
According to Halton Public Health, groups of 10 maximum to reflect the new social…

Do Letters Really Work?
So the majority of the province is going into stage 2. Whats changed since last week? Aside from the position of #ontario leadership again, not much #onpoli #cdnpoli #halton #burlON #oakville #milton
In the lead up to the stage 2 reopening of the province, I have commented that the logic behind the process has been murky and confusing. Monday’s report that the stage 2 reopening has been expanded in Ontario does little to assuage that feeling.
On June 8th, the provincial government released it’s plan to move into stage 2 of it’s reopening process. The next day Halton mayors Marianne Meed…

The lack of imagination of the Ontario government is staggering...
The lack of imagination of the #Ontario government is staggering. Doug Ford is being revealed to be the wrong person to lead us out of this #covid19 pandemic #onpoli #cdnpoli
I saw this tweet on my feed just now.
https://twitter.com/politicsfisher/status/1271839816099852288?s=21
The cutting of red tape and regulations is what led to our long term care home fiasco. This is amazingly short sighted vision on the part of Premier Ford and his government.
Doug Ford was the right man to stop an economy. It’s abundantly clear he’s the wrong man to lead us into a…

Nothing makes sense any more
Nothing makes sense any more, as we reopen in #Ontario, it seems we become more and more confused about what we’re supposed to be doing. #onpoli #covid19 #cdnpoli
The admiration many have had for the Premier lately is starting to falter. The transition into a new COVID-19 world has repeatedly been met with confusion from the public. Social distancing guidelines were announced to be expanding to 10 people on Monday last week. Only to learn on Friday, when they came into effect were a strict exclusion zone that probably would’ve taken sometime to research…

Today is the Day...
Today is the Day...it’s #relayathome. This has to have been one of the most rollercoaster of event experiences. Adapting to a #covid19 world has been necessary for us all. Tonight it pays off. Click on the link to read more and sign up for our event tonight! #burlON #milton #oakville #haltonON
Today is Relay at Home. As COVID-19 forced all of us to adjust our lives in dramatic fashion, so to did the ways our not for profits fundraise. The Canadian Cancer Society’s mission to find a life free from cancer persists despite the pandemic. Unfortunately it has meant that the standard events to capitalize on people’s generosity were transitioned into a new untested virtual format.
(mor…

Daycares are opening and parents are holding their breath
Daycares are opening and parents are holding their breath. @sflecce is failing to instill confidence in parents that their children will be safe and sound as the province begins to reopen #covid19 #onpoli #onted #daycare
As a parent with a child in daycare, I am sure I was not the only one watching Minister Stephen Lecce’s announcement this week with baited anticipation. As the province moves into this new staged opening process, a lot of questions are being asked.
First and foremost on every parent’s mind is, will my child be safe going back to their daycare? It’s an understandable notion, considering the…

A short note on the CERB
The CERB is a good program, and I can say this from personal experience. Going after Canadians like criminals for signing up to a program they desperately need is a bad move. #cdnpoli #cerb #covid19
A lot of the news yesterday was about how the Trudeau government was looking to crack down on CERB fraudsters. I don’t know what the numbers are for fraudulent claims for CERB. I’m also betting that the government has no idea either. I do know though its a good program that is helping folks through this trying period. I know this because I am on CERB.
Prior to this pandemic, I was on EI. I…

The province reopens and I am confused
The province reopens and I am confused. Ontario’s stage 2 reopening is the latest in the confusing messaging we’ve received from the province as we move to reopening the economy. We need the new @fordnation. #onpoli #covid19 #cdnpoli
Yesterday’s big anticipated news was Premier Doug Ford’s outline on the long awaited stage 2 reopening of the economy in Ontario. The guidelines were announced on which businesses could reopen and under what measures. The big catch though is the majority of people can’t benefit. The GTHA, Haldimand and Norfolk region and Windsor are all still in stage 1. Whatever that was. A full detail of the…

A Sign of Things to Come
A Sign of Things to Come. A new voice is coming to the 905 area. #the905er #burlON #oakville #milton #haltonON
For the past few weeks, I’ve been working behind the scenes to help build a new locally focused media platform to address issues here in the 905 area. More details will be forthcoming, however the recent march in Burlington was too important to ignore.
Please read the post below on The905er. Like and share, and follow the page for when it launches soon. Thanks.

For Burlington, this is huge
For Burlington, this is huge. I’ve never seen anything like this in #burlon, if you live in #haltonON you should be paying attention to this #onpoli #blacklivesmatter
In my white corner of suburbia, we don’t protest for anything. The most angry we get, is for old retirees to voice angry petitions about something that might possibly inconvenience them at some point down the road.
This is earth moving. If you look at this and can’t see the shift in conscious here in Burlington, you’re going to be surprised when it steamrolls over you one day. I’ll just leave…
