The past months have been sleepless. Dreamless. Even loveless. I loved her and I love a different one now. The first loved me in a weird unappreciative way and the second doesn't love me at all. Now I'm bouncing like a pinball between her screams and moods, I am afraid to even exist around her. I fear it might be the last time. But, I don't want to be away from her. They'll never know the war I waged inside me. Out of sight, and out of my fucking mind. I'll never believe their eyes.

So, they told me this is what anxiety is. Constant dread and impending doom that never arrives. I know it never comes, but I welcome it unbeknownst to my mind. Not enough A/Cs can break this night sweat. I honestly feel like everyday, one more shovel of soil is placed over my face.

Most often, women complain about men being emotionally unavailable.

I'm too emotionally available and it's killing me. I wish I had that same heart that I had when I was in the Navy. Cold. Gray. Solid steel.
