I had a thought today after I weighed. "I can't believe I'm only losing 1lb a week." Then I realized something. Despite it feeling slow, I've consistently lost 1lb a week.
This is after the initial drop of 10lbs when I did a life overall 1.5 months ago. So, instead of what I lost, I reframed and asked:
What have I gained?
Energy
A proper sleep schedule
Quality sleep
Zero stomach pain
Nonexistent inflammation (for potentially the first time in my life)
Feeling Good about life and myself
Mental clarity (goodbye brain fog that plagued my daily life)
Relearned actual hunger signals
Feeling completely satiated from my food (a much healthier relationship)
Reduced mental health flare-ups and bouncing back
A whole new viewpoint on what "giving up" something means
So yes, sometimes it feels like it's going slow. But I'm not too worried about it, because I'm feeling better than I have in years.
And, as I feel stronger and stronger, I'm getting closer and closer to my goals.
Progress is a process, and a process is a roadmap to success.
Sanctuary. While it true the gym can build muscle and physically make you stronger, it can also mentally bring you health. Relieve stress, anxiety, and even help with depression. Lift often. Lift well.
For those that may have stressful holidays, I hope this floofy cat can bring you some comfort. It’s not always fun and cheer, but I hope we can acknowledge the stress and make it through the end of the year okay. 🙏
