People are age shaming writers and fans in their 30s and 40s for being horny for young characters
people are always mad about something 🤷🏻♀️

who is the YMBQ?
I know people have written a lot of very eloquent metas on this over the years with cited sources and meta-analysis that brings together a lot of threads in a compelling way.
However, the way I interpret it is that it doesn't matter. I don't think we are meant to identify one character and say "She is the YMBQ". In ASOIAF we see many different instances in which GRRM really tries to refute and challenge the idea of prophecy and being bound to things that are supposedly 'foretold'. Specifically with Cersei and her prophecy (including the Valonqar) the purpose is that the mere idea eats her alive! She worries about the Valonqar all the time, she lets her life get consumed with obsession and wondering when it will inevitably happen.
The same thing happens with the YMBQ, the second that Sansa, and later Margaery, are on the scene, Cersei sees them as threats to her power and position as Queen and then Dowager. It's not about them as individuals, it's about what they represent and what she stands to lose.
So much of her arc is about youth and beauty, and just how fleeting they are, how the harder you try to hang on the quicker they slip through your fingers. Especially as a woman in this time period, Cersei's (and all noblewomen's) value is entirely based on looks and fertility, the ability to make a match and have children. Cersei is haunted by it, and importantly I think she is acutely aware of it all, the precarious position she was born into and that even rising to the highest rank a woman can achieve will not protect her forever, without a husband or a son to protect her she is vulnerable, she will crumble. This is her great tragedy.
Sansa, Margaery, and eventually Daenerys are all threats to her in different ways but in the end they are one in the same. Interestingly, Cersei never feels this threat from her own daughter, which is not an uncommon idea to explore, mothers envying their daughters, but Myrcella is the only young woman that Cersei does not associate with the prophecy. In a similar way that she doesn't associate the Valonqar with Jaime.

what I love about catelyn’s characterization is that she isn’t everyone’s mother. she refuses to treat jon like one of her own. she doesn’t have any “motherly instincts” towards theon. even with brienne, she connects with her on more of a woman to woman level than through some mother-daughter dynamic. she never feels obligated to play the angelic “mother to all” figure.
but that’s the best part about her journey as a mother—it’s kind of messy. she has a favorite child, she’s forced to choose between her kids, she actively resents a motherless boy, she dislikes the hostage child living in her home. like yeah catelyn’s love for her children is beautiful and “pure” or whatever, but it also makes her cruel, selfish, impulsive, ruthless, even vengeful.
tbh catelyn’s sense of motherhood is just so unapologetically human, so refreshingly honest. she may be a mother, but there’s nothing romantic or intuitive or easy about it. catelyn stark loves her children, but it’s not that simple.
