Nerding out to be featured in one of my favorite magazines ever. Thank you TapeOp and Lisa M for the conversation!
In this conversation with Lisa Machac (of Omni Sound Project), she opens up about her unconventional journey in the industry, her passion for creating a nurturing environment for artists, and the art of balancing technical prowess with raw emotion in the studio.

I got to hole up with @thisisbeckyw and her rad band (@avrilplaysguitar, @jkmbassist and @meganjanemusic) to live track a collection of songs Becky had written chronicling a heavy and "Sick Season" that kept her home for nearly 16 months. The level of cheeky fortitude that she's able to speak to that dark cloud with, sung with a helluva swampy rock swagger, makes it seem like itās gonna be ok despite all evidence to the contrary. No stranger to such Sisyphean mental health adventures myself, so many of these lyrics hit true, made even more cutting because Becky is just such a dang good writer. Also, did I mention she was on Jeopardy?? I mean - in the Hamlin family, thatās tantamount to knighthood. Thank goodness I got to hear these songs in my ears for so many days making this record. Iām glad you get to hear them now, too. Stream / Buy / Listen where music is, go face the day, and in the words of BW herself, Good Luck, Youāre Gonna Need It šāš¼

It was both a fun & meaningful experience producing this new song, "In My Blood" for Tenille Townes.
I was so blown away by this woman's talent as a writer, singer, song interpreter and human!

The record that Sarah Potenza and I made this year is finally released into the world today!
What I remember most vividly, at this moment, is how Sarah and I tried to show up for each other at every turn and what a riot of a time we had.
This record feels as big, bold, fun, and generous as Iāve experienced this woman to be. As we made this record together, brick by brick, in small and large ways, we established a very real trust and respect for each other which freed us up to make something as honest or weird or demented as we wanted. I feel so grateful to have made this record with herā¦especially in a time when I was in a huge confidence slump. I am grateful to have gotten to be around someone who was as righteously supportive and understanding as she was to me.
You can order the record straight from Sarah here https://sarahpotenza.net/or hear it on any of the normal places that people stream music.

Recently, I got to collaborate with choreographer Gina Patterson and write the score forĀ ā72 Stepsā, a ballet chronicling the story behind the fight for the 19th amendment. It was an incredible experience for me and weāre already dreaming and scheming up more.Ā

CHINA! (see? You canāt not say it that way anymore) On the bright side, I adore Rachael Yamagata and am so grateful to get to kick around China this month and play with her (and Michael Chaves). I like these people and I like pandas...a lot. #notfakenewsĀ

Cayamo always has a special place in my heart. Watching the Wainwright family (individually and collectively) win over that seafaring community was such a thrill. Grateful to get to join in for some on-stage fun and low tones.Ā

Almost 2 years ago, Latifah Phillips was kind enough to ask me to collaborate on the production, playing and writing of the vision she had been developing for her first solo record under the moniker Moda Spira. A lot of heart went into making this record and I'm so proud to see it released today. It's a document chronicling what it's like to love well through all matter of trials, growth, light and shadows. If you're in Colorado, you don't want to miss the release show tonight. If you have ears and live anywhere, get a copy of your very own.

Itās officially released into the wild! I have the deepest gratitude to the Indigo Girls for trusting me to produce their new record, One Lost Day. A labor of love, indeed. Iāve admired their work for decades, and finding them to be as kind, talented, soulful and generally badass as one would hope they would be was icing on the cake. This record is a testament to how engaged and present they remain after 30+ years of being a band. Kudos, yāall.Ā
