ADDING TEXTURE WITH THROWS AND CUSHIONS

Whether you want to change the overall look of a room or would like to add interest to your crisp, plain white bed linen, using a mix of throws and cushions is a good place to start.  We love mixing colours but putting different textures together also gives us a thrill - combine smooth with textured by mixing our Lambswool Angora Throws with a Mini Chunky or Chunky Knit Throw.  Creating this mix with plain bedding, such as our Classic Bed Linen Collection, will not only add a touch of cosy warmth, but will insert a dash of colour to your otherwise simple bedscape. Pair neutral shades, such as our Lambswool Angora in beige or earl grey with stag or slate or for a brighter twist, combine a burnt orange Mini Chunky Knit with a raspberry hue.  For added interest, combine with a scattering of cushions – our Corduroy Cushion Square in plum, hot pink or hay will also insert a pop of colour. ADD COLOUR TO YOUR BEDROOM THIS SPRING

With spring on its way, a fresh and inviting bed is a must. To emphasise the move into a new season and mood, lighten textures and colours – replace heavier blankets and the darker winter shades with spring-inspired hues, such as lavender or soft greens. When looking to create a colourful impact in a bedroom scheme, it is often the little details that work better than large statements.  The use of a few large reading pillows (Continental size) is a great way to create a sense of comfort and an invitation to linger. Pillowcases can be in the same linen as the main bed set but with contrasting coloured piping to add more interest. Another top tip is to use a coloured stole instead of a throw or blanket to add a layer in the middle of the bed (and also hide any wrinkles that appear over the week).  A few well chosen decorative cushions, whether classic pinstripe or pretty florals, will change the mood of your room instantly. Lamp shades are also great for adding further colour and detailing, while balancing your scheme by framing the bed and finishing off your spring-inspired room.

With our new children’s bed linen, our aim was to replicate our ‘grown-up’ range in child-friendly form as we keep hearing of little ones (as well as dogs and cats) who simply won't budge out of parents’ Josephine Home beds.

We wanted to create something that was soft and cosseting – most brands focus on bright fancy designs but the linen feels super rough, which is not ideal on young skin.
