Wk 36: What Florida Could Look Like After The Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Ever since the coronavirus pandemic took over the world, it was all staying quarantined in your homes and only going out for essentials, like groceries, hygiene products, and clothing materials.
We see new developments, thoughts, and theories by scientists and medical professionals, giving their own personal opinions/insights to the public.
What I wonder to this day is the possibility of what laws that our nation has to follow permanently. I know there’s a great chance that the world won’t be the same like it was previously. When a big pandemic like this happens, it is more than likely the case that normalcy might never happen again. This is known as  a new normalcy. Changing the way we live is often not a good thing, because we never had to change our lives before this pandemic. Now that the virus cases are beginning to decrease, there will still be more people afraid of contracting the coronavirus, and social distancing might be in place permanently. That means that no one can be beside one another anymore, and you can’t gather in groups where you’re extremely close to another individual either. This is what the United States may end up looking like in the future. Let’s just hope and pray that we can get as close to normalcy as we can, regardless of what laws the government will make up.

Wk 35: Reopening Florida Phase One begins today, Monday, May 4th!
The world has been plagued with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has issued a Phase One of reopening Florida that went into effect today.
Personal services, such as hair and nail salons, are still currently closed in this phase, as well as bars and gyms. The governor has speculated that he projects that the other phases are measured in weeks, rather than months.
Restaurants will start to open businesses, but indoor seating will reach at a capacity of 25%, as outdoor will be the same, as the tables and chairs are separated 6 feet away from each other, to follow the social distancing guidelines issued by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), the WHO (World Health Organization), and the Gov. DeSantis.
Playgrounds are still expected to remain closed, unless said otherwise by certain Florida counties. This is expected to be the new normal for a couple of weeks at the least, but it is still unknown when Phase Two will be upon us.
Continue to stay updated with all of the coronavirus related information, so you know what will go into effect globally.

Wk 34: Candyland Skate Park Doesn’t Look Great Abandoned
Many people know how the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has changed the world and its economy. It has taken the success of many businesses, and if you have driven to Longwood’s Candyland Park, it doesn’t look that great when the park looks abandoned. I have gone to Candyland Park ever since the new pump track has opened, and seeing it closed, and when no one is riding it because they can’t, it is incredibly sad to see that small groups of people can’t exercise together, due to the stay-at-home orders effective by the state of Florida. Riding your bike is a great way to get some form of exercise in, and when you can’t ride your local pump track, it takes bmx riding away from people, and that’s not good. The pump track shouldn’t be closed because of this, as people aren’t anywhere near each other’s face, and all those who arrive bring their own equipment. They are riding their own bikes and skateboards. It does give the grass more time to grow, at least.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am waiting for the day when the skate park and pump track at Candyland Park reopens for good. It will be great to get on this new track again.

Wk 33: State Reopening
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to put pressure on business and their successes, the president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, has issued plans to reopen the state, in a timely phased manner.
Since there are loads of people who are tired of staying at home for months, they agree with Donald Trump in reopening the state, because at least people can leave their houses. Ever since the governor in ever state, including Ron DeSantis, issued a stay-at-home mandate for the United States, there have been riots in the streets of various states, because people are sick of not being able to make money, especially those who have lost their jobs, since the virus had spread across the U.S.
Orlando is hurt bad, because they rely on the tourism industry. With all of the tourist destinations temporarily closed, they lose more and more money the longer the theme parks close. They have already been closed for weeks, and that’s long enough, but there is still no opening dates in sight for the tourists to travel to the theme parks around Orlando.

Wk 32: Completed the Roblox Egg Hunt!
Roblox is a game that contains millions of players, and a lot of their games are loads of fun. For Easter, the Roblox Corporation decided to make a really fun egg hunt for the new decade, 2020! They have done egg hunts like this in the past, but this one is themed around to spies. I have completed it already, and since I have every egg in the egg hunt, the game is supposed to automatically give me the new FabergEgg and it should appear in my inventory at the end of the event. Here is what I have done and what you should do if you want to play in the egg hunt:
There are 49 different games that have eggs in them, and you have an egg phone that you must equip in your inventory and follow the directions to get the egg. The egg phone tells you all you need to know in order to complete the hunt. Some of the eggs are very difficult to obtain, because they are challenging. If you don’t give up trying, eventually you should get the egg.
There are three eggs that are rare to find and they are launched by special launchers. If you want to get them, go to the Roblox Admins page and look for an admin who’s in a game and if the option to join them shows up, you can join their game. Most players encounter a full game when they try to join, because a lot of people don’t leave after they have their eggs, but they should because they need to let other players have a chance at collecting the eggs. I never gave up trying, because I was watching a helpful tutorial by DeeterPlays on how to get the eggs, and when Deeter was doing a livestream, he joined another server, and I joined his game instantly on Roblox, and I was able to get in and get all three eggs! The key here is to join quickly after he switches servers, because the truth is, the server fills up very quickly.
Here are pictures of the special rare eggs that I obtained:
Tumblr media
Each egg you collect, you will earn not only a badge, but you will also receive the egg as an owned hat for your avatar to wear.
If you want to see the eggs that you have to collect, click here: https://www.roblox.com/games/4669707158/HUB-Egg-Hunt-Leaks-2020. You must have a Roblox account to go into this game.
Note: You don’t need these three eggs in order to get the FabergEgg.
Here is a picture of the FabergEgg that you would win if you collect all the in-game eggs:
Tumblr media
If you want more information on how to complete this egg hunt, click this link: https://blog.roblox.com/2020/04/egg-hunt-2020-agents-of-egg/. Hurry, because this event only lasts until April 28!

Wk 31: Skate Park and Pump Track at Candyland Park is Closed Until Further Notice!
In my last blog post, I talked about the closure of Longwood’s Candyland Park pump track and skate park. They were both originally closed for almost a 2 month period to let the grass grow around the sides of the track, but it now seems like it will be closed for a lot longer, since Longwood Leisure Services (LLS) has commented on the closure on Facebook.
The post states as follows: “In observation of CDC recommendations about keeping crowds to a minimum due to the increase in cases related to COVID-19, the skate park and pump track will remain closed until further notice. Once it is safe for crowds to gather again, we look forward to notifying the public and re-opening the skate park and pump track for good. Thank you and please be safe.”
Also in the report is the confirmation that the restrooms at both Reiter Park and Candyland Park will also be closed until further notice, since the increase of the coronavirus (COVID-19) cases has brought more companies to either shutdown for good, or to keep crowds to a minimum, and take more preventive measures to ensure the safety of everyone who visits the parks.
There is no opening timeframe or month when the pump track and skate park will reopen, but LLS has speculated that they plan to reopen it when it’s safe for groups to be together again, and when the coronavirus pandemic has died down immensely.
Tumblr media
Stay tuned to LLS and give them a follow on Facebook for updates!

Wk 30: Velosolutions Pump Track in Longwood Closes!
In a recent blog post, I stated that the Longwood Velosolutions pump track at Candyland Park in Longwood, Florida had opened to the public and it gained not only the BMX pros, but it drew in the media as well.
When I went to the opening on February 7 after school, I had no idea that what I was going to witness was going to get me on my bike again. It was really fun to ride when I went on the track a couple days after opening, because I loved it! I enjoyed it so much that I was going to ride it every weekend, and even had the opportunity of riding it at night... but it closed in one week.
The pump track closed on February 14, so the grass can have time to grow, and take root. Prior to the closing, the grass that surrounded the rollers was coming off the area around the pump track, and it didn’t look great when it did. Now, I have gone there on more than one occasion, to check out how they’re doing with sprinkling the water around the track, and it is looking better than before they closed it, because Longwood Leisure Services had planted new sod around the track and used a sprinkler to get the grass to hold onto the roller surface. The reason they have used a sprinkler, is because there was barely any rain this time of year in Florida, so they made the grass grow quicker by getting it wet with the sprinkler.
Tumblr media
Longwood Leisure Services’ Chris Capizzi said in a statement on the Orlando Sentinel’s website, “We want to let the grass grow, and we plan to reopen it around March 31.”
I will be very happy when the pump track reopens. Hopefully it does reopen at the expected March 31 date, and not get pushed back further because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Wk 29: Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Is Now Open At Walt Disney World!
March 3rd was the media event and dedication ceremony for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort. It is now open at the park, and the attraction transports you to the premiere of a new Mickey Mouse short at the Chinese theater, and it is called Perfect Picnic. When guests are ushered into the theater, they watch the beginning of the preshow where conductor Goofy runs the train next to Mickey and Minnie’s red car asking them if they want to see Runnamuck Park (the name of the park that guests are transported to). The screen then opens up, and guests walk through the screen to the loading area of the attraction.
Tumblr media
The queue brings a nice touch to the environment, with the wood panels looking very cartoon-y.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The actual attraction itself, in my opinion, gives people at least something to check out if they are ever in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The environments look kind neat, even if there are a lot of screens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are a lot of people who think the attraction is just ok. The reasoning behind it is that the new trackless ride-through attraction uses mostly screens. A lot of theme park fans believe that screens are just a cheap way of creating rides, rather than making something unique that everyone will love and will want to ride more of. With companies as successful as the Walt Disney Company, the majority of the people who have ridden Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway believe that Walt Disney Imagineering could have done a better job, than relying heavily on screens and projections. The attraction has been dubbed “2 1/2 D” by the Imagineering team behind the attraction.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another reason why this attraction is average to most people, is the fact that the animatronics in the ride are shaped weirdly, because it’s hard to align the face of Mickey and Minnie, because it’s difficult to build something to be exactly how you want it. I do think it’s something to check out, and I will see it next time I go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Wk 28: New Pump Track Opens In Longwood!
There is an activity that I recently gained interest in. I was not expecting to have so much fun as I did when I went to this new pump track that opened in Longwood, Florida.
One Friday afternoon, I got picked up from school and my mentor told me about a grand opening happening over near his house. I go to his house a lot and that’s usually how I spend Fridays and Sundays. He told me there is something new that had just gotten added to Candyland Park. He said he went to a bike shop called Mr. Bikes And Boards to get a part for his bike and the employees told him about the opening.
We both went to see what this new opening is all about. When we got there, there were some people who are officials for the City of Longwood talking all about how they made the pump track possible. The track construction expenses were covered by donations, and there were many people who were waiting for this pump track to open.
A pump track has these waves called rollers that you ride on a bicycle, skateboard, or scooter. Riders use a pumping technique to generate momentum and gain speed to go around these curves called corners, and it’s a full body exercise that is a lot of fun. The goal of a pump track is if you are on a bike, you ‘pump’ your bike instead of pedal.
Tumblr media
When people started riding it, I was thinking to myself, “That would be really fun to do.” While watching these teens ride this pump track, I wanted to try it out another day, because it was a crowded day and it was a little too cold.
I rode the pump track a couple of days later, and I am super interested in them to this day. It has since become my favorite outdoor activity, and it’s also what I love about biking now.
There was a news station covering the opening as well, which made the grand opening much more of a big deal to the City of Longwood.
It has closed recently to make the grass grow, because it was very slick and I was slipping on it, while going up the inclines to take a break. It is expected to reopen at the end of March.
Read the full story of its grand opening and how it was built in Longwood here: https://www.news965.com/news/video-longwood-opens-new-bmx-track-funded-100k-grant/yahh1SeK8jFp9R2FDnuPYJ/

Wk 26: Neon Sign Arrives at the Entrance To Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway!!!
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is an upcoming attraction that is set to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on March 4th. This groundbreaking new attraction will put you in the middle of the story inside a very old vintage Mickey Mouse cartoon short. With special effects and projection mapping technology, this new trackless ride, much like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, will be a one of a kind experience, and it sure seems like it will be a guest favorite. The short that you will travel through is ‘A Perfect Picnic’.
There was so much interior work that needed to be done, and it is almost finished. With less than a month until this attraction’s debut, a new outdoor neon sign has arrived and it was installed overnight Walt Disney Imagineering gave guests an inside look of them setting it up.
Tumblr media
Since guests have an up close view of the entrance marquee sign, the Standby and Fastpass+ signs have arrived at the entrance to the attraction as well. Although they are still covered up, it won’t be long until the protective covering comes off and reveals the design.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here is an A-frame that has appeared at the entrance along with the entrance sign. It matches the same aesthetic with the Standby and Fastpass+ entrance signs.
Tumblr media
Here is an up close look of the sign that was installed just days ago.
Tumblr media
Disney has recently put out the opening date around the front of the attraction under the cartoon posters letting guests know that it will be opening soon. The photo op that was placed on the side of the Chinese Theater is now gone, with scrims that have gone up around that area. This will be work for the exit area.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am very intrigued to see how this attraction plays out when it opens on March 4th. Fastpass+ reservations have now become available for opening day, but they have run out. If you are an Annual Passholder to Walt Disney World, keep checking the MyDisneyExperience mobile app to check for any updates!
With Cast Member training and testing already taking place, I am looking forward to experiencing this attraction. The Runnamuck Railroad (with Goofy as your engineer) will open to guests in 2021! It is almost time to step into a world where Mouse Rules Apply.

Wk 25: Arrows added to the TRON Lightcycle/Run Display at the Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World Resort is currently ever evolving as construction continues on the TRON Lightcycle/Run roller coaster attraction that is set to debut next year for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
There is no construction update on the attraction itself, due to the fact that the walls are the only elements going up as of right now, but there was a small addition that was added to the TRON Lightcycle vehicle displays.
Tumblr media
There are now arrows on the ground that give guests an idea of how the boarding process will work. I thought originally that the arrows were drawn out with concrete, chalk, or if it was just some material that was placed on the ground. It turns out that these arrows are made out of tape. The tape is very similar to that of packing tape, because it can still be ripped off. It’s there to direct you how you would get on the left and/or right lightcycles.
Tumblr media
I am very excited for this new addition to arrive at the Magic Kingdom!!!

Wk 24: New Pathway Opens at the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Construction Site!!!
Epcot is under a constant state of development, and new attractions never disappoint those who love new attractions that are going to exceed any guest expectation. That is the case with the construction of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Even though we had a great loss of a classic attraction, Ellen’s Energy Adventure at the Universe of Energy, there is always room for a much better, much more anticipated, and more state of the art attraction that will make guests want to return to the park on multiple visits to Walt Disney World, and Epcot as a whole.
Tumblr media
As construction rages on throughout the park, temporary pathways are currently being built to bypass construction in certain areas of the park. At some point, the entire center of Future World will be walled off, in order to accomodate the construction of the permanent festival center in World Celebration. One pathway has opened, which is near the Future World East restrooms, which are currently closed off, due to more construction and landscaping work taking place over there. That pathway will bring you out to the Port of Entry and the World Showcase promenade. Another pathway also opened at The Seas pavilion which has been open for more than a couple of weeks with construction walls themed around the Moana characters and the Incredibles. The construction walls also feature the logos that will be/are used throughout current and upcoming attractions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The most exciting news out of this is that on the other side of Future World East, there is a small section of pathway that opened to guests very recently. Guests can now get an up close view of the Guardians of the Galaxy building that will house the preshow and queue. Since there is a lot of construction noises happening frequently, you do get a closer view of the building. In the not so distant future, the walkway will be complete, which goes from Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, all the way to Guest Relations over by the side of Spaceship Earth at the front of the park. Not only are you able to view the building, but you are also able to get an up close look at the futuristic lighting that was installed specifically for the attraction as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In order to make the park look a little more lively instead of a construction zone, the construction walls were also themed to Guardians of the Galaxy (of course) and the upcoming PLAY! Pavilion.
Tumblr media
Stay tuned for more construction updates from Guardians of the Galaxy:Cosmic Rewind and more from Walt Disney World.

Wk 23: Gusteau’s Restaurant Sign And Fountain Arrives at the World Showcase!
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is an attraction that has been announced at the D23 Expo last year, and progress has been full speed ahead. The construction crews were working on the show building and now, a lot of exterior theming elements have already been brought to the site and installed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first decorative element was the Gusteau’s restaurant sign that has a five star rating underneath a picture of Gusteau himself. This sign is located in the queue for L'Aventure Totalement ToquĂ©e de RĂ©my, which is French for  Remy’s Totally Zany Adventure. It has appeared in the film Ratatouille and seeing this exciting progress means that the opening of the new France expansion in Epcot is nearing ever so closely. The sign and the fountain have now been installed, with lots of work needing to be done on the fountain. Based on the fountain construction, the fountain in Paris features rats from the film holding up bottles of wine, but as of right now, those decorative carved elements have not been added in yet. On top of this progress, some window thematic elements were added to the site, so the project is moving along very nicely. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is only one of several new construction projects that are happening all around Epcot for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary and the ongoing re-imagining and transformation of Epcot.

Wk 22: More TRON Lightcycle Run Wall Panels Go Up!!!
I have been continuously checking in on the construction progress of the TRON Lightcycle/Run attraction that is currently being built behind Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort, and I am very pleased to inform you that the wall panels that have started to go up at the beginning of the month has progressed rapidly! The entire front portion of the TRON show building is almost completely covered in wall panels, which is the direction facing the Barnstormer in Storybook Circus.
Tumblr media
In the photo above, you can see that over half of the front part of the show building is covered in wall panels that are two various shades of gray.
Tumblr media
On the side of the show building, the center of the building is covered in wall panels, while there is still work to be done on both sides of the paneling. Scaffolding has gone up, and you can see a little bit of the inside of the show building, but if the construction crews keep up construction at a this high pace, it won’t be long before we can’t see the inside of the building anymore, which means that the whole building is going to be covered soon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There have since been more supplies that were shipped to the construction site, to continue the foundation work for the launch section of the coaster. These poles are supports for this side of the show building. There are also concrete pillars and pads with rebar that have been added to the site. This attraction is starting to come together! I cannot wait for the canopy to be added to the exterior portion of the queue!!!
Tumblr media
One of the most exciting additions to TRON Lightcycle/Run is the addition of steel arches that were erected to the site a few days ago. These arches will serve as the attraction queue, and the attraction facade should be going here as well, when the attraction reaches completion.
TRON Lightcycle/Run is expected to open in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. Are you excited to ride this groundbreaking E-ticket attraction when it opens at the Magic Kingdom?
Stay tuned for more information on the construction progress of TRON Lightcycle/Run and other projects happening at the Walt Disney World Resort!

Wk 21: My Experience on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance!!!
Since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was a great addition to the park on August 29, 2019, the land was supposed to open their headliner attraction, but it got delayed. Instead, the only ride guests were able to do was Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run, where Hondo Onaka recruited you to fly the most beautiful hunk of junk in the galaxy. It really is a cool ride, where you can be Pilot, (to steer the ship and make the jump to lightspeed), Gunner, (where you can fight off enemy ships) and Engineer (to fix issues on the ship), but it is nothing compared to what Star Wars:Rise of the Resistance is.
Tumblr media
This attraction is so much better than Smugglers Run hands down, because you’re not in a screen based only attraction like Star Tours, but it is made up of several different components that make this the most immersive experience that Walt Disney Imagineering has ever created!
Tumblr media
With 3 preshows, 6 different ride systems, and more than 60 animatronics, there are multiple effects, props, projections, and screens spanning across a 2-story show building, which are very mind-blowing. All the windows inside the attraciton look out into space. One of my personal favorite effects was Kylo Ren’s lightsaber cutting through the ceiling of an elevator.
Tumblr media
The First Order officers stay in character at all times, and they make the experience more immersive than ever before, especially when you become interrogated by both General Hux and Kylo Ren, before the Resistance comes for you and helps you escape the Star Destroyer and from the evil grasp of the First Order! I enjoyed the experience so much, that this attraction is capable of re-ridability. This is a massive attraction, and is currently the best attraction that was created by Imagineers in all of Disney Parks history!!!
Tumblr media
This is a must-see attraction and one that is in high demand at the moment, so if you plan on riding Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, you must arrive at Disney’s Hollywood Studios early (like 5:00 AM early) and wait for the gates to open. Once the Cast Members start letting guests onto Hollywood Boulevard, make sure to have a My Disney Experience mobile account and have your friends and family linked to your Family and Friends list. Once you have the app all ready to go, you must wait for 7:00 AM (hours may vary). Once you reach park opening time, then you must reserve your boarding group quickly. I did it quick enough to get boarding group 35. The faster you do it, the lower the group number you will be in, and also don’t wait because the boarding groups are all out within minutes! You and/or  your party must be scanned in the park in order for your group to be confirmed (another words, anyone who is riding with you needs to be linked to your account or they are not able to ride). If you receive a backup boarding group, it depends on if you are able to ride or not, since you must wait for all the other boarding groups to be called, in order to see if there is availability for more riders. After you secure your boarding group, then you can do whatever you want in the park (or you can even leave the park) and you will receive a push notification in the My Disney Experience app in order to let you know when your boarding group is called. You then have two hours to return to the attraction entrance to scan your group in. Once you do that, you can experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note: Joining a boarding group DOES NOT guarantee the ability to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, as stated in the My Disney Experience mobile app. Be aware that unexpected downtime (breakdowns) may occur. The “Join Boarding Group” choice will be grayed out when no more boarding groups are available for the day.

Wk 20: TRON Lightcycle/Run Vehicles Arrive At The Magic Kingdom!!!
We have been closely monitoring the progress on Magic Kingdom’s new and upcoming attraction, TRON Lightcycle/Run and back in early December, a pair of TRON Lightcycles appeared outside of Space Mountain’s gift shop (The Tomorrowland Light and Power Co.) for guests to try out way before the new attraction makes its debut. There’s a sign that shows guests how the loading procedure will go once TRON opens, but the lightcycle designs are very much like the ones found at the Shanghai Disney Resort theme park. The only minor difference that I have l have found on the ride vehicles are the back restraints: the half circle design is flipped so that the cutoff ends are right-side up, and the ones in Shanghai are upside-down. I am super excited for this ride to open. If you want the best photo-op experience to test out these new vehicles, then head on over to the Magic Kingdom towards the evening hours, as it gets dark, so the neon lights will turn on. The lights aren’t on in the daytime, when the sun is up, so be there when it’s completely dark outside.
