I enjoyed this book a little less than the first, but it was still an entertaining read. I fell in love with the characters in the first book and didn't see as much of them as I wanted to in this installment. Looking forward to finishing the trilogy.

This book was a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed the setting, characters and basic plot. I didn't mind the jumping between the three different timelines as they were distinct enough to follow. However, about halfway into the book, I felt that the story became very convoluted and lots of things were happening that didn't really move the story along. 猸愶笍猸愶笍猸愶笍 #rosewater #tadethompson #scifibooks (at Gray, Louisiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt7aRfVnU6c/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1tjtalnuechye

This book pulled off something very unique for me...it was suspenseful and humorous at the same time. The main character is very self-absorbed. The extent of this and details of his life are slowly revealed as the story progresses. The tension continues to ramp up as we discover more about this character and his life. I listened to the audiobook version and it was well done and an enjoyable ride.

I really enjoyed the audio version of this book. The characters and story are interesting and surprising. The writing was crisp and the ending was satisfying. Looking forward to discussing this one with other readers.

This book had a fantastic beginning and I was very drawn into the story and couldn't wait to see how it would unfold. As it progressed, however, I became less interested in what was happening and was quite disappointed with the ending. The writing was good, but the story seemed repetitive at some points.猸愶笍猸愶笍猸愶笍 #thecabinattheendoftheworld #paultremblay #suspense (at Gray, Louisiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsoxCkGnqVG/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=m0mhee2sghhn

3.5 stars. This book was a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed the writing and dual timelines. The comparison between what was occurring in the past and present was interesting to me. At the same time, the characters seemed one dimensional and there wasn't much nuance when it came to their views on social and political issues. It is worth the read if you are a fan of Barbara Kingsolver and like literary fiction. Otherwise, you might not find this to be a compelling novel. #unsheltered #barbarakingsolver (at Gray, Louisiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsoTdBxHqL1/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1iszfx96rcuf8

This book is a page-turner. The story and characters are interesting and Eskens does a good job at surprising me with unexpected twists. Great ending, too.

As a fan of Karin Slaughter, I was highly anticipating reading this book. The beginning of the book got me engaged in the story but it lost its momentum after that. I typically like dual timelines, but in this case, I didn't find the events in the past to be that interesting. Character development was also lacking. The ending was satisfying and answered all my questions, which was a plus. Would recommend for Karin Slaughter fans, but it is not as gritty, engaging, and suspenseful as her other books. 猸愶笍猸愶笍猸愶笍 #piecesofher #karinslaughter # suspense #bookreview (at Gray, Louisiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/Brz41JFnHFF/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1h3s7laf62vns

After reading "The Life We Bury," I was looking forward to reading another book by this author. During the first 3/4ths of the book, I thought that the plot was predictable and the story was so-so. The final 1/4th turned things around and surprised me, which I really enjoyed. Looking forward to reading more by this author and recommend to readers who enjoy mystery/thrillers.

First, let me say that this is a thriller that kept me turning the pages. The story is compelling and drew me in from the start. That being said, much of the plot and actions of the characters seemed to me to be unrealistic. Thus, if you are looking for a tightly woven plot and believability, you might not enjoy this book. If you are willing to just go along for a crazy ride, though, this is an enjoyable read.

Another great book by Jane Harper. I enjoyed The Dry and Force of Nature, so I definitely wanted to read this one. I found this book to be a page-turner with interesting family dynamics and a mystery that kept me wondering until the end.

This is the sequel to The Life We Bury, and I enjoyed it more than the first book, which was also good. It has great characters and a compelling storyline. A definite page-turner. I think this is one of the best in the series so far. I enjoyed the story but also love getting to know the characters better and seeing their relationships evolve over time. My expectations were high going into this book and in the end, it didn't wow me. The story felt long and meandering and the main character, Toby, never really grabbed my interest. There were elements of the mystery that I enjoyed and the reveal was satisfying, but much of the book felt like a slog to get through.

This was a fun and surprising read. The main character, Murderbot, is a robot-human hybrid and is so interesting and well drawn. I was fascinated from the start. Since this is a novella, the story just scratches the surface, but at the same time felt like a complete unit. I am so happy there are more stories in this series.
