For Your Own Good is the buzzy, summer book from Samantha Downing. “Teddy Crutcher is Teacher of the Year at the esteemed Belmont Academy. He only wants his students to excel and succeed. He can’t be bothered with the death of a parent or a fellow teacher. Sometimes excellence has a high cost…” I love the characters that Downing gives us here. Teddy really does want his his students to succeed but he has a warped sense of what success looks like. I have been teaching a long time so I know what Teddy is going through with the parent phone calls and emails. Teddy has some different methods to deal with those helicopter parents 😨 Downing keeps you guessing along the way. The short chapters make this a fast-paced read. I like the ending and the little twist at the end was a nice touch. Maybe we’ll see a grownup Zach down the road from Downing. Happy Monday everyone🙌🏻 I know it’s been so long since I last posted, but life has been crazy. (Lies🙄 I’ve been too lazy to write reviews for my books.) I love writing reviews, but I really have to be in the zone to write one and I kept not being the mood to do it. I finally got the energy to write them though and I can’t wait to share them with you😬 . . I’ve read some great books these past few weeks and they have been blowing me away. Also, I’ve gotten into a real audiobook kick and I haven’t even been in the mood to read physical books which is why I kept finishing books so quickly🎧 . .
