"J-Rite | Children $tory" Cliche intro, Here: Reflecting, I think the year was around 1992, or maybe ‘93. I remember coming to, sun rays already beaming threw the WWF Wrestling curtains that hang in my window. You know, the ones with Hulkamania, Ted Debiase, Road Warriors and all the other OG wrestlers on there.. I wonder what my parents ever did with those curtains? No doubt, they could be worth something in 2015. Sh*t But anyway, Uhmmm…. Oh yeah! I remember awaking from my bottom bunk only to realize that the alarm had been going off for quite some time! I hopped up, threw my shirt on, scrambled for my LA Gears and hurried out the door! As I made my way down the drive way I see the bus doors closing as the bus slowly began to accelerate. NOOOO!!! That’s when I had to put the jets on.. But to no avail. I ran harder and harder and HARDER!! The harder I ran towards the buss door, the more I realized, he’s not even trying to look in my direction. After an extremely long 30 second chase, I finally hung my head in defeat, and made my way back towards home. As I contemplated I how I was going to break the news to my Moms about missing the bus.. All at once, my neighbors from down the street, Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly and Chris “Daddy Mac” Smith.. came trotting towards me. Come to find out, they had missed the bus too! Any normal day I would’ve been blown away by there presence, but today I was cool. A light bulb went off! “Come on!” I said reassuringly. Booked to the back yard where three bicycles lay behind the house! We all hopped on one and took off like light. Peddling as hard as we could, we had finally made it to our destination! Walking in behind them I noticed that somehow we had used the auditorium entrance… TO THE STAGE! The room was packed with thousands of people. That’s when the boys glanced over at me… “You coming?” I hopped off the couch where I was napping, ran in the living room!! Excitement rummaging all over, to tell the grown ups about my dream. You know it’s real when a 4 year old has your full attention! But to me that was real. Still is. Have you ever had a dream so vivid so real, that you’d never forget? So surreal, so great that you’d never want to forget? My dream is rap music. Every since I could remember. In 92 I was 3 years old. Wasn’t no school bus! No riding of bikes! But one thing from that dream is real! And lives on with me for ever. I guess the message I’m trying to convey is this; No matter how old you get, no matter who is against you or how far fetched your inspirations may seem, you should never let that kid down. The one that lives in each of us. The dreamer. The believer. YOU.
