Call me jack (jacksparrow589 over on AO3). I read, I might be 3 writers in a trenchcoat, I garden, I do kitchen things, and I nerd out. I probably excel the most at that last one, but I have fun with all of them and that's what matters to me.

Alright! Sorry for being so absent today! I was building a tool so you can all check your own names on demand.
I am asking that you not talk about it on Hugging Face. I'm sure word will get there eventually, but I'd like to avoid them accessing this as much as possible. Feel absolutely free to spread around Tumblr.
Tool is here! Use page 1 to search by username. Use page 2 to search by work ID (which you'll need to do if you're looking for an anonymous work).
That said, I did pay out of pocket for some of the accounts I've needed to do all this. If I need to, I'm fine with eating that cost, but I am going to ask nicely that if you feel like kicking in toward it, you donate to the Ko-Fi I made specifically for this technical project. I was hoping to get a short-term membership, but I was only able to buy access to host this for a full year lmao. BUT regardless, this is freely available to everyone. Do NOT feel like you need to donate if it'll put you in a bad place or even if you just don't want to. Just figured I'd ask instead of quietly sucking up the $180.
Thanks to everyone who helped with the cost to host the tool! I appreciate you so so so much. As of this edit, I'm at $185 total, and right now, I don't expect to have to pay for anything else to keep this available.
I gave the tool a quick test, but please come yell if it stops working. I'm around; I'll fix as fast as I can. It's slow as hell, but it does load eventually. Give it up to 10 minutes, and if it seems down after that, please alert me via ask! Anons are on.
Now with all that being said, time for me to start focusing on how we stop the next scrape.

The tribes of Tumblr appeared to worship Apollo as their primary patron deity, most often under the epithet Apollo Spairahemon ("Apollo the Ball-Thrower") as a god of prophecy and sport. His name was typically invoked to celebrate a user blessed with uncommon prescience. Moments of prophecy were considered highly sacred and were often recorded, and such texts are sometimes accompanied by an artistic depiction of the god — either his traditional masculine image or, unusually, in the form of a young woman, which appears to have been an earlier style before a conservative shift toward more conventional iconography — preparing to cast a round rubber ball that our scholars believe was used in the sport known as "dodge ball". Much as other cults regarded his arrows as bringers of disease and health, this community believed that being struck by this ball would bestow prophetic visions.
Some icons are reproduced below:

An earlier depiction (c. 2020) of Apollo as a girl clad in a simple tunic and playing with other children. Figures are smiling and the image is brightly colored, indicating a celebratory outlook toward knowledge of the future.
A later piece (c. 2022) that resembles the traditional appearance of Apollo. References to childhood and play are omitted, and the god carries a more frightening aspect; perhaps this icon represented grim omens rather than good tidings.

(by worldvisualized/instagram)
#the wikipedia map isn't perfect#for example greenland does in fact celebrate may 1 as labor day#probably just got lumped in with denmark#which is honestly still wild to me#it's not that i don't find it weird that the us celebrates on a different day#but we do in fact have a holiday of this type#and at least where i live may 1 is a rally day

Kinda in love with the idea that different places on other sides of the world can look so similar. Something something universal human experiences

NOTICE: As more and more fanfic writers are using generative AI for their works (you uncreative dweebs), I hereby swear on everything I hold dear that I have not and will NEVER use generative AI in ANY of my written work. Everything I post will be organically and creatively my own.

I'm excited to read some of your work! It's on my list!
For the Ask game, for Chaotic Sonata #1, for Kingly Ambitions #2 and #11!
Oh boy, we are getting back into the weeds! (Because I haven't written much Royai lately, I am aware. 😅) Thank you very much for the asks!
1) What inspired you to write the story this way? (Chaotic Sonata)
The 100 themes challenge was a big thing at the time I started writing it. I was also writing over on ffnet, and my recollection is that I had to publish it all in one fic to keep to the rules of the time? I knew there was no way I could make a cohesive story out of it, and I nearly always write inspired by music if not actively listening to it, and since I was keeping notes about which songs inspired what, so I decided to tie it all together that way and make that my readers' problem. 🤣 (I also don't remember if it was supposed to be strict drabbles, but I was young—I started writing Chaotic Sonata in high school and didn't start publishing it until early university—and had not yet absorbed the exactly 100 words rule.)
2) What scene did you first put down? (Kingly Ambitions)
Oh God help me, do I actually remember this?
I think this was one of the last ones that I handwrote a lot of, so I would have started writing it during high school. My recollection is that I actually wrote the whole of Chapter 3 (by title, not by chapter count, as there is a prologue) first, in teeny-tiny handwriting, during 3rd period precalculus.
11) What do you like best about this fic? (Kingly Ambitions)
This is a toughie because my style was still immature and I was a very naive and sheltered kidyou will absolutely be able to tell that I started writing it at about age 17. Were I to come up with the idea today, much of it would be drastically different.
As much as I do mean all of that, it is kind of foundational for me. I'm pretty sure it was my first cohesive multi chapter fic that wasn't off the rails. (There are earlier stories I did not port over for ffnet and there are reasons for that. 😅) I think writing it gave me the courage to take more risks, and I appreciate it for that.
On an actual story content note, I think this is where I really started making Roy an utter and unapologetic Riza simp, and I cannot and will not fault myself for it.
And on a cheeky note, as you'll see in the author's notes for chapter 5 (again, by title rather than count), this began my crippling addiction to writing train station kisses for these two. Always having to leave, always missing each other... There is just something so delectable about that and I always thank past me for writing that bit if nothing else.
