Cetaphil Baby Products Review
I don't have a baby anymore but I still use baby products for ONE reason ---
My son may be 5 years old but his skin is still a baby!  He got my super sensitive, dry skin and using the wrong products will cause him to itch the whole day!
I have used a number of Baby Care products, I've tested a couple but one brand that was stuck in my head was Cetaphil Baby.  Why?  I'll tell you why when you scroll further down!
Kyle is a great reader, he reads ALL the product names and even product description whenever I introduce him to new bath care products.  Ever since I used Cetaphil Baby products on him, he has been requesting this brand out of all the brands available inside the bathroom for a couple of reasons --- he likes the scent and he likes how moisturizing it feels on him after every bath.
Cetaphil Baby Moisturizing Bath & Wash is  a favorite of mine because I use this on days I feel like my skin is tight and dry!  This is a great all-over face and body wash that is gentle enough for both babies and kids alike.  I like how it does not irritate my son's eyes considering he likes to wash his face with this product.  That said, I can tell the product is indeed very gentle to use.
Cetaphil Baby Shampoo is what I use for Kyle's hair and he enjoys doing Mohawk look with it.  Even leaving the shampoo for several minutes, I don't have to worry as it never dries out his hair!  I love how his hair feels after every wash!
On the other hand, when we go on a weekend staycation, I like to bring 2-in-1 products such as the Cetaphil Baby Gentle Wash and Shampoo.
I tend to be "that mom" that goes "NOOOoooo!" whenever your kid uses the body wash on his/her hair!  Thankfully with the Gentle Wash & Shampoo, I knew that the product would work for both Hair & body and I honestly love the No-Tear formula!  Kyle loves to wipe his eyes so many times during wash as water tends to get into his eye and thankfully, no tantrums - instead, I get stress-free bathing time with him!
Because of the pH balance of all Cetaphil Baby products, my son does not suffer much from skin irritations like before.  Because of the added ingredient of almond oil and soothing aloe vera, his skin doesn't feel as dry like before.  Thankfully, I read ingredients and there are NO paraben, mineral oils and other harmful ingredients so I know it is safe for my son!  No wonder this brand is highly recommended by his Pediatrician.
Now of course, on colder days and months, and since we sleep in an air-conditioned room (he gets sweaty just like his dad so hello Meralco bill!)  I like to apply a good amount of Cetaphil Baby Daily Lotion and it was a pleasant surprise for me that my son actually looks forward to this nightly ritual!
I can honestly say, after trying out all Cetaphil Baby products, I am also proud to recommend this brand to my mommy friends because it really worked for my son!
The price range of each product is approximately Php300.00.  Not bad considering how long it lasts since a little goes a long way!  And it is a small price to pay for your kid's protection.  To know more about Cetaphil Baby products, like Cetaphil Philippines on Facebook and you may purchase Cetaphil Baby products at SM Hypermarket, Supermarket, Shopwise, South Star Drug, St, Joseph Drug, and Baby Company.
Have you tried Cetaphil Baby?
Which particular product is your must-buy?
Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

Saks Friends & Family Early Access
The Saks Fifth Avenue Friends & Family sale started early access online today and will begin in stores on Wednesday. Despite the attractive 25% off discount clothing, shoes and accessories, there aren't many designer options included in the promotion.
JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content.
Far gone are the days of a friendly Prada discount but there are still some designer-y items from which to choose. The friends and family sale is bundled in one link but Saks was extra tricky and added sale merchandise that's not eligible for the additional discount. Look closely before clicking.
For example, here is a Gucci dress reduced to $2250 from $4500 but it's not an additional 25% off even though its included in the friends and family section. The same goes for this Gucci blazer that's also discounted 50% off and this Valentino leather trapeze jacket. We also happened to stumble upon a bunch for Saint Laurent and Vetements reduced 70% off.
Within the special link, shoppers can apply the discount to Alice & Oliva. We love this leather moto jacket with rainbow fringe. Speaking of fringe, here is an MSGM denim jacket with fringe that is perfect to pair with your new cowboy boots. (We would take a hard pass on the coordinating jeans.)
We aren't too surprised by this sly Saks friends & family sale but think it would be more fitting to change the name to the Saks Trick or Treat sale. For what it's worth, the promotion runs through Tuesday, October 9  but we wouldn't be surprised if there was an extension. Tick or treat...

Kilts, scotch, & lush greenery reign at this Denver art gallery wedding
Photos by June Photo & Films
Caroline and Andy wanted a wedding that was uniquely theirs, with none of the fluff or traditions that were not meaningful to them. Instead, they opted to bring in things they love together. This included a “scotch blessing” before dinner for everyone with custom shot glasses. They even carefully curated an intimate wedding party pre-wedding cocktail hour at Death & Co. in the new Ramble and Co. Hotel in Denver to ease everyone’s pre-wedding stressors.
In lieu of traditional floral blooms, Caroline wanted lots of lush greenery to accent the chic and industrial backdrop of Space Gallery. They also got married in front of the epic greenery walls on the gallery’s patio. Their wedding recessional music was played on the bagpipes by a family friend, another homage to the Andy's Scottish heritage. And of course, don't miss the kilts!

MORE JAW DRAMA…LIKE IT’S ALWAYS SOMETHING
MICHAEL SAID IF HE HEARS THE WORD JAW ONE MORE TIME WE MAY DIVORCE.
Lol.
But seriously, I am sick of it too. Such a drag.
So basically as you guys know, I had double jaw surgery about 4-ish years ago. Well, recently I realized that my lymphatic system in my face wasn’t draining properly- this was causing me to swell up like a balloon any time I stepped on a plane, traveled to higher altitude, &/or drank too much alcohol. Even salt! Like forget it- one too many grams of salt & I was immediately Fat Bastard.
I was over it. Personally, I became convinced that the reason I was swelling so much was because of the screws & plates in my face. I mean it can’t be GOOD for you to have metal in your face blocking your flow. My acupuncturist told me this too- he said the screws/plates from double jaw surgery were JUST BAD. Especially because it goes against everything Chinese medicine says.
So I said to myself “fuck it- I want this shit out!”
MY JAW SITUATION
If you can’t tell, when I get my head stuck on something, I get my head stuck on something. I couldn’t let it go.
So I found a jaw surgeon in LA ( as you know we recently moved from San Diego to Los Angeles ) & immediately booked an appointment. It all went well. We didn’t remove every single screw but the majority of them. Immediately after surgery I SWELLED RIGHT THE FUCK UP. Which is to be expected- it happens after an invasive surgery. But now, 3 weeks later, I am feeling better…& I should add: more contoured & less swollen than before the surgery. WHICH WE LOVE.
You could definitely say it was a success…& I am convinced my theory was right.
Anyway, so that’s my jaw drama. & while we are at it- let’s talk tips to fight inflammation because boy I am the fucking queen of that. AHEM:
♡ Watermelon juice!!!
Watermelon juice was my main request because it’s non-acidic. I like to add a TON of lime too. Lime is acidic but turns alkaline in the body. So watermelon x lime is just fucking gold. I’ve been chugging it like a sorority sister chugs Jungle Juice at a frat mixer. Watermelon juice is just perfect in every way. Go for the juicy red flesh at the center of a watermelon because it’s the only nutrient-rich area, forget the white part. The white part sucks, kinda. Some other benefits: watermelon is great for blood flow, it’s anti-inflammatory ( perfect for surgery ), & has TONS of vitamins and minerals. ALSO IT’S A DIURETIC. Cleans you out. Bottoms up!
♡ Next up, Mr. raw coconut juice.
I like this baby for its electrolytes. Raw coconut water is filled with electrolytes which REALLY boosts hydration. Hydration is key in sickness recovery. I always search for the pink coconut waters because supposedly they contain more antioxidants. This one is my favorite brand by far! Love it when it’s a baby pink mixture ( this happens only sometimes depending on the coconuts they get ).
♡ Heyyyy Kefir!
Since I had to take some more antibiotics for this surgery, I needed something with probiotics to coat my stomach. This kefir smoothie makes all the difference. Kefir is a whole different blog post but basically it’s “a sour-tasting drink made from cow’s milk fermented with certain bacteria. Also, a great source of probiotic bacteria and yeast, and requires daily maintenance, if using milk kefir grains. It is generally more sour in flavor and of a pourable consistency. Milk kefir may also be used in many, many recipes.” When I take antibiotics I ALWAYS balance it out with a probiotic. This is why kefir is amaze; it balances the antibiotic out by promoting good bacteria. This smoothie is simple. Nothing crazy because I definitely don’t want to shock my system.
♡♡♡ TSC Kefir Probiotic Smoothie
1 banana 1 cup kefir Handful of kale 1 splash almond milk Handful of ice Top with cinnamon ( << an anti-inflammatory )
Directions: blend. Garnish with cinnamon & cheers!
♡ Now let’s talk about liquid gold!
A full blown Vitamin C juice!! My favorite…orange/carrot/ginger/turmeric. SO healing for the system when you’re in recovery ( or on any day ). The orange relieves constipation, is full of potassium, & again, turns alkaline in the system ( so it’s essentially NON acidic ). The crunchy powerfood carrot does wonders: they’re full of fiber & literally flush nasty-ass toxins from the body. SO cleansing. Ginger, one of my favorites, is a real life saver because it takes away nausea. And typically surgery brings on nausea, yuck. Ginger also reduces gas, has a warming effect, & stimulates circulation. Lastly turmeric root!!! My home girl. Turmeric ( like real turmeric. Ever seen it at the grocery store? It looks like a sick bug. You can actually buy it online too ) is the shit in juices. Turmeric root is INSANE for inflammation. I’ve been shooting it in shot glasses #rebel.
♡ ICE ROLL THE FUCK OUTTA YOUR FACE.
Here’s the deal. I’ve been doing ice facials since Sonja Morgan from RHONY recommended them after a brutal hangover circa 2014-ish when noble Countess Luann was yelling at Heather Yummie Tummie about being ‘uncool.’ It really wasn’t until my brutal jaw surgery that I discovered the IT beauty tip of 2016 ( AKA MY LIFE LINE ). IT FIGHTS INFLAMMATION- I DO IT EVERY MORNING. TRUST ME.
Let me set the scene, years ago: I was actively perusing Amazon ( SHOCKING, this is something I do on the regular ) & was searching ‘jaw surgery book.’ Weirdly, an ice roller popped up.
So I was like, “umm, yes. This will make life easier PLUS give me a little lymphatic drainage while I’m rolling downward on my swollen jaw.”
Added to cart……..& then shit, the rest is history.
Not only did I fall absolutely HEAD OVER HEELS in love with my ice roller ( I use the white roller with a blue handle ), I also entered into a committed relationship with my ice roller. Like I said: I use it every ( EVERY ) day, once sometimes twice a day for as long as it’s cold ( usually 2 to 3 minutes per time ). In fact, I’m grumpy if I don’t get to use it first thing in the AM! Bye swelling.
♡ Lastly: TEA.
This one isn’t really too healthy but it’s keeping me refreshed. I get a large Starbucks iced green tea with two splashes of passion fruit & no sweetener. Obviously this isn’t like organic, homegrown, gold star tea BUT it’s cold on my throat & feels good plus it forces me to drink more water. And well, I just like it. Also, I’ve definitely been sneaking some mint chocolate chip ice cream because ‘help me, I’m sick.’ If you’re so healthy, lucky you, drink organic Numi green tea & skip the iced Starbucks.
♡ Oh, & another one not pictured:
I HAVE BEEN CHUGGING OWL VENICE BONE BROTH IN DISGUSTING AMOUNTS. I’ve been told it’s the best thing you can put in your system BEFORE & AFTER surgery. I add lemon & seriously GULP, GULP, GULP. A post on the broth can be found here.
ALSO: using Valor oil, taking massive amounts of arnica & turmeric ( I AM OBSESSED WITH TRUVANI’S TURMERIC TABLETS because they’re real deal turmeric with black pepper- I take them all the time ), using TONS OF ICE for ice facials ( which has helped me the most, especially this specific ice roller ), dry brushing, detoxing, juicing, applying real aloe vera/raw coconut oil, & also I’m really trying to avoid salt. ANY OTHER TIPS? Please share.
Before we go I also want to discuss pros of having double surgery in the first place because it seems like it’s been an on-going thing. Also this is important because I receive a lot of DM’s on questions about the initial surgery:
SO PROS OF MY JAW SURGERY:
+ I feel balanced now. I felt out of whack/alignment for my whole life. Towards the end I started to get used to being uncomfortable. Now I feel at peace. This is me now ( still have a long way to go, but this is without photo editing & no makeup- you can’t edit on Snapchat ). Swollen still, but coming down.
+ I haven’t been grinding my teeth AT ALL. This is huge for me because I’ve been grinding my teeth every night of my life to the point where Michael couldn’t sleep.
+ I haven’t snored once. This is another big one because I sounded like a freaking wildebeest when I was sleeping. Now I sleep like a baby without waking up in the middle of night…& Michael can sleep peacefully. This is AMAZING.
+ My bite fits together. Before I could only chew on one side of my mouth & my bite never fit together. Now my teeth fit together like a perfect puzzle piece & my mid-line is on point.
+ No more headaches, cracking my neck, or anxiety around my neck. I would also try to fix my bite myself by holding my jaw in the proper place. Because the issue was skeletal, it put major anxiety in my shoulders & neck. This feeling is gone, gone, gone.
+ Michael has literally seen me at my lowest point looks-wise, so I’m thinking he’s a keeper….LOL.
+ Lastly, my cheekbones look a little higher. A vain plus, but hey it’s a plus.
So that’s that. Thought I would share the process with you guys because you know I like to get specific.
I am off to eat a sourdough peanut butter & jelly sandwich because I got food poisoning last night. The culprit was either bad shrimp or bad cauliflower rice- you decide. If anyone has any food poisoning tips, I am all ears because man, do I feel queasy. Like I said- it’s always something! LOL.
HOPE YOU’RE ALL HAVING A PRODUCTIVE WEEK. See you tomorrow, lauryn x

Nonprofit News Outlets Give Local Communities Control of Media Narratives
When Irais Urias reads headlines about the Mexican border, they don’t often match her experience as a young Latinx woman who lives in Texas along one of the busiest international crossing spots in the world. Irais worries that national reporters and prominent politicians misrepresent the Mexican border as “chaotic and disaster-ridden,” when in her experience, “it’s actually the opposite.”
Irais is a 23-year-old student in El Paso, Texas, working with Borderzine, an independent, nonprofit news organization that partners with the University of Texas at El Paso to accurately cover the often-mischaracterized Mexican border. Irais, who is also working on an e-book to tell people what living in a border city is like, believes that local organizations like Borderzine are the best publications because young people can accurately report information about their own communities.
“There’s a peaceful environment here, everybody is very friendly, and we very are welcoming to both cultures,” Irais tells Teen Vogue about El Paso and its sister cities along the Mexican border. “We have created a culture here in El Paso that you don’t see in other border towns. We were born here. We were raised here, and we can tell people what’s actually going on here because we live it every day.”
Irais’s passion for local journalism is mirrored by a broad world of nonprofit newsrooms, each of which strives to provide relevant, investigative news from within their communities. Several of the newsrooms work with an organization called NewsMatch, which helps raise money for nonprofit journalism partnerships ranging from El Paso, Texas, to Flint, Michigan. The aid that NewsMatch provides with fundraising allows the small news teams to continue providing accurate coverage and representation within their communities.
“In order to actually understand what is going on for people of color — either on the border or within different cultures — actually having reporters who represent those minorities is the goal,” Irais tells Teen Vogue. “That’s the way to go. A lot of people are reporting on situations, people, experiences, or cultures that they are not even familiar with. But we are familiar. We can actually tell people our experiences and what we’re going through, as long as we are represented.”
Zita Arocha, the director of Borderzine, said nonprofit newsrooms across the country allow young people to receive hands-on journalism training so they are prepared to represent their communities on a national level. The local organization uses donations and funding from NewsMatch to expand students’ reporting experiences with the goal of breaking stereotypes about the southern border.
“You can literally toss a stone from our building and it lands in [Mexico]. That is how close we are,” Zita tells Teen Vogue. “There are so many misperceptions about this area in the general public. It’s vastly misunderstood. The narratives are all about drugs and crime and people climbing over walls, and that’s so far from the reality. If people follow a news site like ours, they are going to get a different perspective.”
More than 1,600 miles away along America’s northern border, Jiquanda Johnson, a journalist of color with 16 years of reporting experience in Detroit, built a small, independent newsroom in Flint, Michigan. Jiquanda founded Flint Beat after hearing complaints from members of her community that the only news coverage that the city received was based on the city’s water crisis, which gained national attention after officials switched Flint’s water supply but failed to treat the new water source, causing lead to contaminate the city’s drinking water.
“In reality, the Flint water crisis is just one of the many issues that the city faces,” Jiquanda tells Teen Vogue. “We listen to the community. I don’t tell them what their issues are. I’m from Flint, born and raised, and I don’t tell them what they need. They tell me what they need, and that is how we shape the content in our newsroom.”
Jiquanda believes that independent publishers like Flint Beat are able to break away from metric- and traffic-focused benchmarks that can drive coverage in for-profit, corporate newsrooms. The small news sites build a sustainable model with the help of donations, relying on the idea that people will voluntarily pay for the news coverage that they recognize is making a change in their communities.
About 1,200 miles from Flint, 2008 Pulitzer Prize finalist Susan Greene left Colorado’s legacy newspaper, The Denver Post, for a similar venture. Susan felt that she could only pursue the investigative stories that her community valued while working for a nonprofit organization. She became the editor of The Colorado Independent because “there were too many stories that needed to be told,” and she believed a grassroots model could fuel the essential type of journalism she was interested in.
“It’s no mistake that we are called The Colorado Independent,” Susan tells Teen Vogue. “When you have big money — big business money, especially — going into political candidates or news, there is an effect. There is a silencing of people’s stories and issues. It’s enormously freeing to not work under those constraints, but it is also challenging because then journalists need to spend time raising money.”
Without the support of larger outlets, it sometimes requires creativity to keep things running. Back along the border, Irais is working with her peers to create more resources for nonprofit storytelling with the help of grassroots funding. She believes that young women like herself are energized by news that actually reflects their experiences and backgrounds, and she hopes more people get involved as local reporters.
“This year is when I started to realize how important it is for everyone, but especially women, to get involved in covering politics. I was originally intimidated by immigration and border issues. I thought it was too much for me,” Irais tells Teen Vogue. “But we have a voice as journalists, and we can actually be a voice for many people and bring awareness to the issues that are not being talked about. It’s what we have to do. We can actually make a change and produce accurate work.”

Hailey Bieber Addresses Bullying and Negativity on Instagram
Social media can be a powerful tool, and a great way to stay in touch with friends, but it can also be a dark place full of cruelty — and Hailey Bieber has had enough of the negative energy.
On Saturday, December 8, the model posted several messages on Instagram Stories to address the way that the social media platform — and the mean people on it — affect her mental health. “Being off of Instagram is the best thing ever,” Hailey wrote. “Whenever I take breaks from it, I feel so much better, so much happy as a person. The second I come back on I get immediate anxiety, I get sad and I get worked up.”
Hailey went on to explain that, despite the fact that Instagram can be “incredible,” the app also comes with a negativity that “screams so loud.” She added that it’s sometimes hard for her to focus on her well-being and mental health when “someone is tearing apart your job, or your relationship, or essentially any of the things in your life that are positive.”
And Hailey isn’t alone; celebrities are often unfairly the recipients of hateful comments on social media. Just a few days prior, Pete Davidson posted a note on his own Instagram account, telling his followers that he’s been bullied for months. Selena Gomez once said that she deletes the app on a regular basis, due to the hurtful things people say that “cut to your soul.” Paris Jackson has also opened up about being cyber-bullied, commenting that she doesn’t understand “how there can be so much hatred in the world.”
Hailey expressed a similar sentiment in her Instagram Story. “We need to take a step back and realize we need to express more love and encouragement to one another instead of constantly tearing people down and judging,” the model wrote, adding a powerful conclusion to her message: “And I won't let people make me feel like I'm doing something wrong by enjoying my life and being happy.”
It’s important to remember that bullying other people online is never OK, regardless of their celebrity status. The internet does not make you anonymous, and words carry an impact, whether they’re communicated in-person or through a screen. Fortunately, it seems as though Hailey has a positive attitude about it all — seems like the haters could learn a thing or two from her.
Let us slide into your DMs. Sign up for the Teen Vogue daily email.

Travel Like a Supermodel
Tumblr media
She’s sauntered down hundreds of runways and graced the covers of every notable magazine on the newsstand. She’s raised kids, traveled the world, and mastered both sides of the camera. She’s even modeled G. Label. Twice. Elaine Irwin, you could say, hasn’t lived a typical model’s life.
“I’m always up for an adventure,” says the model in what is likely a gross understatement. (She also used to race cars.) “Traveling and exploring new places is one of my passions and a favorite thing to do,” she says. Another passion to add to the list of things she’s preternaturally good at: collecting and selling mid-century modern Danish furniture. So it follows that when we asked her what her favorite place (okay, one of them) was, she didn’t miss a beat. Copenhagen. The Danish capital—and the minimalism capital of the world—is never far from her itinerary. “I keep a bag of toiletries and travel accessories packed so I am ready for a last-minute getaway,” she says.

“Hotel Nimb is my favorite place to stay in the city. In addition to its great design, it’s located in the Tivoli Gardens, which is a magical place. It’s a mix between an amusement park and a street festival set up amid beautiful architecture and greenery.”
Tumblr media
“The restaurants in Denmark are extraordinary—you really can’t go wrong. But the Nimb hotel Brasserie, Geist, and Studio at the Standard are a few of my favorites.”
Tumblr media
“Ruby and Lidkoeb are excellent cocktail bars to soak up the city’s atmosphere.”

How to choose a coat – a complete guide for buying the right coat for your style this season!
As the weather cools down in the Northern hemisphere it’s time to think about womens winter coats!
A great coat is an essential element of your style in cold weather and it’s one of the most important buying decisions you will make this season. A good coat can truly elevate your style.
It can set your style mood or even pull your look together on a day that you don’t really feel like dressing up so much.
A good coat will make an entrance and leave an impression. Plus, you will wear it many times over the season. Enough good reasons to buy a really good one! Let’s explore how to choose a coat and select the right one for your style!
What are the essential coats for your wardrobe?
The essential coats will be different for each person as we all have different style personalities, lifestyles and comfort levels. You also need to determine if you want to have multiple coats or go for a one coat suits everything solution.
Ideally though, you will have multiple coats in your wardrobe as it’s difficult to find a coat that would be ideal for all situations.
There are some great coat trends for fall 2018, including the beautiful plaid coats in this round-up of the best fall 2018 trends.
Here are my suggestions for a coat wardrobe:
One regular coat that you wear during the day and would be your most regular coat. Ideal length is around knee-height or mid thigh. This can be a dressy or casual coat depending on your style personality.
A super chic coat that would be great for the evening or dressy occasions.
A more casual coat for the weekends. Usually this one will be shorter.
A warm parka or short pea coat.
A raincoat or trenchcoat.
1, 2 and 3 could be combined as well as 3 and 4 if your budget is limited or you prefer a smaller coat wardrobe.
The trench coat makes almost every essential items list by celebrity stylists since it’s just so timeless. This coat could last you a long time and is great for those in-between seasons.
If you are like me you may want to add one really current and fashionable coat which you could use for either your number 1 or 2 coat.
Some questions to ask yourself when buying a coat
Do I want something timeless or trendy?
The smaller your budget the wiser it is to choose a coat that is more timeless and classic.
Am I happy to invest in quality?
A good coat can last you several years so it is often worth it to buy one of great quality. You may choose to go for lower quality when it comes to very fashionable coats. To determine the quality, check the lining and finishes of the coat. They are usually good indicators.
How practical does my coat need to be? will I be sitting a lot while wearing it? Will I ride a bike? Or will this coat mainly be for evenings out and walking?
Clearly, have the function of the coat in mind when you buy one. It’s very important to have coats that make you feel comfortable and do their job well. When you have a lot of evening events, it’s good to have at least one good 3 quarter coat that will fit well over your dresses.
How thick does the coat need to be? Do I get cold easily? Will I be wearing it a lot outside? Or will it mainly be used in already heated trains or buses?
Similar to the question above, but really consider the thickness of the coat here.
What will I wear underneath? Will it have to accommodate bulky sweaters? (very trendy this season) Will it cover my longer skirts? Can I still wear it with a lighter jacket or blazer underneath?
Be sure to have at least one coat that easily accommodates a jacket underneath. Although it’s not necessary that your skirts are completely covered these days, you may still like to have one long coat that does as it’s a very clean and stylish look.
Do I want to make a statement or blend in? Do I dare to take a risk with a color or pattern?
Although it’s good to always have one black or very neutral coat, you don’t need three of those. I have often expressed my wish for more colorful and unusual coats on this site. Even if you are normally a neutrals person, a colored coat would make a really good addition and fit well with all your neutral outfits. We need to brighten up those dark streets in winter ladies!
What shape of coat should you go for?
When choosing a coat it’s good to consider your body type. Try to determine where the bulk of the coat is and how that affects your figure.
Almost straight coat
Vince Camuto plaid jacket – Ralph Lauren wool blend – Marks and Spencer red funnel neck
Ideal for daytime especially the shorter versions. Still very chic and can be dressed up for a special occasion too.
Tailored coat for dressy days and evening
Mango military coat – Double breasted checked coat – Hearts and Roses coat
Dressy coats are usually more tailored. They can have a straight or a-shape silhouette. The sightly tailored coats that skims the body is one of the most versatile of coats that will suit most body type is the three quarter slightly tailored coat.
Opt for a fabric that is not too thick to maintain a sleek clean line and make sure your coat closely follows the contours of your body. You may want to go for a coat with a flared skirt for added drama, or perhaps take inspiration from tailored menswear. If you love the menswear-inspired coats which are very on-trend now, there are more below for you!
Menswear-inspired coats
Mural plaid blazer – Mural oversized midi – Kensie plaid coat
Still very popular this season, this coat is wider and more bulky. It’s a more trendy option, but also very comfortable that will make it easier to accommodate the bulky sweaters that are very much on trend this season.
This coat can make you look boxy through, so if you are shorter or curvy you may want to go for a more tailored coat.
Belted coat
Vince Camuto belted navy coat –  Tahari belted pink coat – H&M belted coat –
Belted coats are chic and comfortable and often very figure flattering on many women. Apple shaped women may want to opt for a slim tailored coat without a belt that creates a similar effect but will often look better.
Long coat
M&S longline coat – M&S long black coat – M&S linen belted coat
If you are taller, you can also opt for longer coats, which are currently very fashionable and can add drama to your look. They are slightly tailored in the waist and create a long lean line. Shorter women should be careful with this coat as it can overwhelm them. They often look better with a shorter coat.
There is more advice here on how to dress if you’re petite.
Short coats
Mural color block coat – M&S gray coat – M&S checked open front coat
Short coats are very practical and can be very hip. Choose something that is slightly tailored or has a bit of an edge.
Parka
Gallery black puffer jacket – Bernard feather fill jacket – Bernardo bib parka
Practical and handy for weekends and great for keeping you warm, but be mindful that puffy thick parkas will add bulk. The most flattering parkas are usually tailored at the waist.
Leather coat
Levis leather jacket – Lamarque burgundy jacket – Black NYC jacket
A leather coat is a great addition to your coat wardrobe. Great to make a classic outfit more edgy or practical for the weekends. A great advantage is that you can wear a light leather coat both indoors as well as on warmer fall or winter days.
If you already have a black biker in your closet, you could look for a different color, such as burgundy, navy or olive. Take a look here at the most on-trend colors for fall 2018.
Trench coat
Mural trench plaid coat – Ralph Lauren trench – Ralph Lauren trench coat
The classic trench is always chic and is frequently recommended as an essential wardrobe piece by many stylists.
It never goes out of a style and you can’t go wrong with the standard three quarter camel version but shorter versions are very practical and chic too. Go for a well-tailored cut that fits your body well without too many embellishments, but make sure it has a belt.
A trench coat is one of the best pieces to transition your closet from summer to fall.
Quilted
Ralph Lauren quilted jacket – Barbour quilted – Barbour quilted
A quilted jacket can be a shorter, less bulky option instead of a parka. A great option for a winter walk!
Which colors should you choose?
It’s always good to have at least one neutral coat in your wardrobe or perhaps two. A black or dark navy coat is very practical in climates where the weather is wet or unpredictable. Be sure to have a good assortment of brighter colored or light scarves though to brighten up your face.
I also love the look and sophistication of a cream or light colored coat. Very chic for both the day and evening.
I would definitely encourage you to add a colored coat as well. Choose one in a color that suits you well. They are much easier to wear than you might imagine and they will make lots of impact on your style.
How do I fit a coat?
You will want to buy a high-quality coat that will last you several seasons, therefore a perfect fit is crucial! Here are some pointers to get it right.
Be sure to get a good fit from the shoulders. It should hang straight down.
Make sure there is enough room through the armholes.
Make sure that any seams, pleats closures or pockets lie flat and that the hem is even.
Coats with full arm lengths should cover the wrists.
Close the coat completely and make sure it does not pull anywhere.
Make sure you can move around in your coat comfortably. Walk a bit and sit down and ensure that the fit and weight suits you.
Which coat(s) should you buy this season?
Which coat is right for you depends on all the points we have discussed above, but here are some of my favorites. (RSS readers, please click through to the website to see the options).

The Best Vegan Sugar Cookie!
I love a good sugar cookie. Even though they may be considered a more “simple” cookie, sometimes simple is still the best and I love to eat these with a mug of hot tea at the end of a long day and just savor all the sweet buttery goodness. I used to make “regular” sugar cookies, but this past year I’ve especially been avoiding dairy and egg, so I wanted to find a good vegan sugar cookie that would fit our food plan and accommodate other pals who avoid those things at parties and gatherings as well (I also have been making fun cookie videos for our Instagram as well recently, which has been so fun to learn). I tried a few versions and ended up tweaking the below into what’s now my favorite recipe …
The Best Vegan Sugar Cookie (I get around 20 3-4″ cookies with this recipe) Adapted from It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken
Dry Ingredients: 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet ingredients: 1 tablespoon ground chia (or ground flax works too) 2 1/2 tablespoons water 3/4 cup vegan butter 3/4 cup white sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon butter flavor 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Combine your dry ingredients in a large bowl and whisk together to mix. Add your ground chia (or flax) into your 2 1/2 tablespoons of water and mix to combine. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until you have a thick gel. Mix your butter and sugar with hand or stand mixer until light and fluffy (should only take a few minutes depending on how cold your butter is). Add in your flax or chia mixture, vanilla extract, butter flavor, and almond extract and mix to combine. Slowly add in your wet ingredients into your dry and a dough will start to form. If your dough is too dry, you can add a tablespoon of water at a time until the dough comes together (you don’t want it to be a wet dough though, just add enough until it stays together and doesn’t look dry).
Gather your dough into a ball and place it between two pieces of parchment paper. Roll out your dough between the parchment until you have a circle that is 1/4″ thick. Place in the fridge for about 30-40 minutes or until it feels very firm. Prep a cookie tray with parchment paper on the bottom while your dough chills.
Preheat your oven to 350°. Take out your chilled dough and place it on a flat surface to cut out your cookies. If your dough is chilled enough, it may stay in your cookie cutter when you lift it up after cutting so it’s easy to transfer to your baking tray and gently push out. As your dough warms, it will stay in place on the counter and you’ll have to lift the excess dough around it to gently pull out your cookie. If you reach a point where it’s too warm and pliable to pull out a cookie successfully, you’ll need to re-roll and chill the dough again before cutting more (if you care about perfect shapes, that is!).
If you don’t care so much about looks, you can bake your cookies right away, but if you are decorating cookies and want them to keep their shape, pop your tray into the freezer for 5 minutes or so until the cookies have firmed back again so that it only makes a small dent when you press your finger into them. If they feel solid and you can’t make a dent at all, they are too frozen, so let them sit out on the counter for a minute or two before baking. I like my cookies on the underdone side and pull them out just before they even start to brown (and under-baking sugar cookies makes them hold up longer as well if you are making them ahead of time for a party or trip), so I do about 9 minutes in the oven. But your oven and cookie taste may be different, so cook longer if you like it a little browned.
Once your cookies are done baking, let them sit on the pan for at least 5 minutes before trying to carefully transfer them to a cooling rack with a spatula and allow the cookies to totally cool before icing.
There you go! Now you can please more people at parties and no one has to sacrifice any flavor or fun. If you love to ice and decorate your cookies like I do, I’ll post a vegan royal icing recipe as well so you can get your decorating on as well … stay tuned! xo. Laura

Video of Cat Breaking Out of a Bathroom Goes Viral
If there’s anything that can bring people together — especially on the internet — it’s a hilarious cat video. So it’s no surprise that when Aliyah Steele shared footage of her roommate’s cat stealthily breaking out of the bathroom, the video quickly went viral — and plenty of other people soon joined in on the fun.
Aliyah and her roommate Ciara Davis first decided to rig a “hidden camera” on Cubby the cat after they noticed that he was easily able to find his way out of the bathroom while the door was closed. “Cubby is very intelligent,” Aliyah, who is currently studying criminology at the University of West Georgia, told Teen Vogue. “He can give kisses on command, he can lay down on command, and he understands many words! … Cubby is the type of cat to reverse any skepticism about cats.”
In order to catch Cubby in the act, Aliyah and Ciara set up a cell phone in the shower to watch the cat’s movements once the door was shut. “Ciara knew if she asked him if he wanted food, he’d start trying to open the door, so she rattled his food bag loud enough for him to hear and said ‘Cubby, you want some food?’” Aliyah recalled. “He immediately became eager to get out.”
The video, which Aliyah posted to Twitter on February 21, shows the orange cat leaping on the bathroom counter and essentially scaling the wall, Spider-man style, until he jimmies the door handle open with his paw. From there, it’s smooth sailing, and Cubby is seen quickly exiting the bathroom. “I could not believe it,” Aliyah said of the moment she and Ciara reviewed the video footage. “I couldn’t stop laughing. I’m like, ‘We have to post this now!’”
It wasn’t long after the 24-year-old posted the video that her tweet went viral. At the time of writing, it has over 3.5 million views and more than 221,000 likes. “I’ve always wondered what it would be like [to go viral], but I never thought it would be because of a cat,” Aliyah told Teen Vogue, adding that it’s “very humbling” to get such a response.
But part of what makes this particular viral video so hilarious is the replies. It seems as though Aliyah and Ciara aren’t alone; plenty of cat owners have caught their pets doing equally impressive — and hysterical — things. One person shared a video of their cat standing on its hind legs and reaching up towards the door handle to break free. Another posted a video of their cat literally jumping at the door, while this Twitter user’s friendly feline manages to use the top of the door like a skateboard (I kid you not). There were videos of kitties turning on water faucets, opening cabinets, and even one of a dog with some tricks that might make a cat jealous. Moral of the story? Pets are definitely a lot smarter than we might realize. If you need me, I’ll be rigging up a hidden camera of my own to see what my cat’s up to after I go to sleep.

Sorry, but Mercury Retrograde Is Back to Eff You Up Again
The hectic astrology of November (and 2018 in general) has almost been too much to handle! Just in this month alone, chaotic Uranus entered Aries, expansive Jupiter entered Sagittarius, action-packed Mars just dove into Pisces, and Venus retrograde ends soon—and there’s still more drama coming up!
Advertisement - Continue Reading Below
We’re all ready for the planets to take a seat (or several) and chill out, but there’s one final dramatic twist before the year is up! On November 16, the third and final Mercury retrograde cycle of 2018 begins! This happens in the fire sign, Sagittarius, and is felt strongest by Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces.
With this hotheaded energy flying around, choose your words carefully.
As with all Mercury retrogrades, you need to watch out for the standard issues around miscommunications, travel delays, technology errors, and unplanned events disrupting your schedule. The travel delays part is especially true with a Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius, as Sags are the sign of traveling and adventure. The biggest communication problems you’re likely to face will stem from Sagittarius’ tendency to speak first and ask questions later. All fire signs share this hot-headed trait—and interestingly enough, each Mercury retrograde this year was in a fire sign. Because Mercury’s energy is so not Sagittarian, speaking too much and not listening enough is a huge issue! When the Sun enters Sagittarius on Thanksgiving, this fiery energy is amplified even more.
Sagittarius loves to turn up the volume and is notoriously blunt, and loud-mouthed Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius can make everyone doubly tactless. With this hotheaded energy flying around, choose your words carefully. Sagittarius is prone to overreact and fly off the handle, and when everyone feels that way, there can be a ton of drama firing off from all directions. Even the most polite, soft-spoken person might get caught in the crossfire of the heated arguments sure to pop off during this particularly high-energy retrograde.
Advertisement - Continue Reading Below
This retrograde cycle is definitely a doozy, but after such an outrageous year, would you expect anything different? Luckily, Venus no longer being retrograde helps put everyone in a more congenial mindset. Venus in Libra helps fix any of the drama disrupting your relationships that come from Mercury retrograde. The astrology of 2018 has been very big on relationship issues—every major event from eclipses to retrogrades has had a substantial connection to relationships.
This final retrograde of 2018 (and the energy of Mercury in Sagittarius in general) helps you speak your truth and defend your beliefs unapologetically—even if it means ending relationships and cutting off loose ends in the process. This has been a year of transformation and tons of tough changes. The clutter has been cleared out, though, and after this final speed bump ends on December 6, it’s clear skies ahead in 2019!
Aries
Re-evaluating your goals for the future is thematic for this retrograde cycle. If you’ve been making plans for travel or higher education, don’t expect any substantial progress to be made—your chart’s zone of learning and adventure is being smacked around by this retrograde. If you’re traveling to see family for the holidays, check and double-check that you have your schedules lined up correctly, you have everything you need packed, and you know exactly what time you need to hit the road or board your plane.

The little things that slip by unnoticed when it comes to travel plans and important discussions now pile up and seriously bite you in the ass if you leave them unchecked! It’s also important to remember to listen more and talk less. Others will take offense to being overpowered or talked down to, and whether that’s how you want to sound or not, it’s easy to come off like a know-it-all without realizing.
Taurus
Mercury in Sagittarius activated the zone of your chart relating to intimacy, and sex has been a hot topic for you and your partner! Trying new things in bed has been a fun aspect of this Mercury phase, but now that the retrograde has started, you might find yourself feeling lost or unconfident in new territory. Frustrations and miscommunications in the bedroom are reflections of issues existing in other areas of the relationship, so dig deep and figure out what’s really going on.
With this astrology, it’s likely that an issue outside of your relationship is the major component in all of the drama you’re facing. You’re a fixed earth sign, so honor those traits and be your S.O.’s rock—they need it! At the same time, don’t just sit there and take it if someone is jumping down your throat with all this argumentative Sag energy—you can use these fiery vibes to speak up for yourself now. This energy also runs the risk of bringing old sex partners into your life if you're single—tread carefully!

Gemini
You’re a master at thinking on your feet and adapting, but with the retrograde happening in your opposite sign, you feel especially unbalanced and overwhelmed by others now. No matter where you go or what you do, somebody has something to say about it. Don’t just pop off at the next person who bugs you, though—breathe!
They’re saying something for a reason, not just to annoy you or berate you. It’s your responsibility as the communication expert to figure it out. By carefully choosing your words, you can smooth out any communication issues between you and others. You likely find out that they thought you were imposing on them, even if you felt the opposite way. Warning: Ex-partners and friends may suddenly come out of nowhere now too!
Cancer
Your day-to-day routine is getting all kinds of shaken up. Make sure every day on your schedule is planned out perfectly, and follow that plan the best way you can. In fact, take it a step further and compare your schedule with others’ to make sure it’s all lined up. Mercury retrograde is notorious for screwing up your routines, and when it’s in Sagittarius, your daily operations are disrupted from other people’s mishaps.

Your biggest headaches start in the workplace or classroom. You have to try and try again to complete even the simplest tasks because of others distracting you or
last-minute changing things up on you. This is also a good time to get a check-up at your doctor’s office—this part of your chart has to do with your health and wellbeing as well.
Leo
If you’re involved with any sort of artistic projects, expect progress to slow down. Mercury retrograde is stirring up drama and miscommunications in your chart’s zone of self-expression, so you may feel like your creative juices are totally dried up.
This part of your chart also has to do with sex and romance, so whether you’re dating, committed, or single, tons of communication issues revolve around your romantic/sex life. The like-minded vibes of fire sign Sagittarius might feel like you’re filled with tons of bright ideas, whether for romantic or personal pursuits, but don’t hold your breath on those. Anything started during Mercury retrograde rarely reaches completion—but if you still like the way your vision looks by the time the retrograde is over, go for it!
Advertisement - Continue Reading Below
Virgo
Thanksgiving might not feel so thankful this year, as Mercury retrograde tears up your chart’s zone of home life and family affairs. Mercury is also your ruling planet, so each time it goes retrograde, it’s an especially big headache for your sign. The best thing you can do is stick to light, fun conversation topics and avoid getting too heated unless it feels absolutely necessary.
You might also have to deal with old faces suddenly reappearing—think childhood friends, family members you haven’t seen in a long time, or anyone from your upbringing showing up. Whether this is good or bad entirely depends on who it is!
Libra
As Mercury goes retrograde in your chart’s zone of mental activity and communication, it looks like it’ll be an especially confusing next few weeks! Conversations don’t go how you plan them to, ideas get mixed up in your head, and you confuse even yourself with the word salad that falls out of your mouth.
You’re naturally pretty tactful and diplomatic though, so you have the ability to still sound like you know what’s going on—even though the madness makes you feel like the opposite. Don’t upgrade your phone or get any new electronics, because with Mercury spinning backwards in this part of your chart, they’ll likely crap out in the next few weeks. Issues with technology and your car are likely, so if you’re traveling for the holiday, be prepared.

Scorpio
Hold on tight to your wallet! Your chart’s zone of finances is where Mercury retrograde is happening this go around. Now is definitely not the time to spend frivolously, so sorry if you were planning on blowing some cash on Black Friday! Sure, it’s okay to splurge on some of the crazy deals, but with Mercury retrograde in impulsive Sagittarius acting up for the next few weeks, you might overdraft your account.
This zone of your chart also relates to your self-esteem and your morals, both of which are seriously sensitive and important topics. Thanksgiving dinner is usually a hub of heavy conversation, but if the topic dips into anything controversial, prepare for the worst if you disagree with a family member’s opinion. You defend your beliefs relentlessly with this energy, and it’s easy to just say the first thing that comes to mind with fiery Sagittarius’ vibes taking up this horoscope.
Sagittarius
Happy almost-birth month, Sagittarius, though with Mercury retrograde in your sign, it might be a little less of a celebration this year. You’re honest (to a fault) and DGAF about how others feel about your opinion—and that’s okay! You do you! Just be aware that you’re particularly susceptible to sounding extra harsh without meaning to with this retrograde.
Advertisement - Continue Reading Below
With Mercury in your sign, you dominate conversations more than ever now, and the ball is always in your court when it comes to a discussion or argument. That being said, if the discussion gets heated, you’re the one responsible for toning things down and not letting things escalate to a shouting match. Mercury is the planet of communication, and you love to talk! But talking is only half of the communicating process—you need to learn to listen, too.
Capricorn
With Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius, your chart’s zone of isolation and the unconscious is activated. It feels like you just aren’t able to put two and two together—there’s a disconnect somewhere. You hear what people are saying, but it just flies over your head, and when you try to speak up, it’s in one ear and out the other for whoever you’re talking to. The general confusion is pretty frustrating, and you often find yourself asking the same questions over and over but getting different answers each time.
Your dreams of the future are foggy and unclear because memories of the past keep coming up, and you don’t know where you stand. You can’t keep focusing on the past and the future at the same time, especially if you’re ignoring the present. Ground yourself and center your attention on the here and now. Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius is an opportunity to find closure with old people and projects that are holding you back. In a few weeks, you’re back to normal and you can proceed confidently!

Aquarius
As Mercury flies retrograde through Sagittarius, you notice a lot of in-fighting and squabbling with your besties. When preachy, opinionated Sagittarian energy permeates your friend group for the next few weeks, you may discover that everyone isn’t on the same page when it comes to your values. One conversation goes awry and the whole bunch of you are pissed of at each other.
Opening a discussion with one another to figure out the reasoning behind your views can prevent future headaches! At the same time, if you discover that someone in your usual crowd has a mindset that’s legitimately problematic, you can use this Mercury in Sag energy to your advantage and really explain to them why they're wrong. If you can't meet halfway, then it might just be time to move on from the friendship.
Pisces
What’s your reputation like at work? Are your ideas well-received? Do you finish your tasks efficiently? Or, are you the opposite—notoriously tardy or always ready with an excuse as to why you can’t finish a project? With Mercury retrograde, your every move
in the workplace is being noticed. Every misstep you make receives retaliation and backlash, while all of the good work and little victories go unnoticed—or so it seems. This is actually a period of time where your performance is under review, so make the most of it!
Advertisement - Continue Reading Below
Mars is in your sign now, so it’s possible you’re coming off as aggressive to others without meaning to, especially at your job, so talking back to critiques from your supervisors doesn’t go well! Be on your best behavior and take any criticism. Your boss will remember how well you took their coaching and in the long run, you’ll look way better. Mercury isn’t usually a hard-hitting moment for your sign, but a promotion could be on the line now!

Karlie Kloss Says Designers Stopped Working with Her After She Went Up 3 Sizes in a Year
Since she was 15 years old, Karlie Kloss has been a household name in the modeling world. But in the decade since her runway debut, the 26-year-old has experienced almost every up and down one can think of, especially when it comes to the fashion industry’s ever-present body-image pressures.
In an interview with Vogue, Kloss recalled a time in her early career when the fashion industry stopped working with her after she went up three sizes in a year. The experience happened in Kloss’s teens when she started using birth control, which made her body look more “womanly,” with bigger thighs and hips. “I started taking birth control, and my body became more womanly—hips and thighs appeared,” Kloss said.
But not everyone was a fan of Kloss’s curvier body. As her body changed, so did the fashion industry’s opinion of her, and soon, Kloss saw herself losing jobs and become blacklisted by designers after she went from a size 0 to a 6 in less than a year. “I started losing jobs; I wasn’t getting booked for the runway; designers stopped working with me. It felt as if my world had been turned upside down,” Kloss said.

It didn’t help that Kloss held herself up to one of the most successful models in the world, Gisele Bündchen. But something good did come out of Kloss’s time off. Instead of sulking over her lack of jobs, Kloss was proactive, which led her back to the classroom where she studied computer coding at New York University. Eventually, the course inspired Kloss to start Kode with Klossy, a coding camp that encourages young women to enter STEM fields.
“I’d always measured myself against Gisele—to me she was the pinnacle of modeling success—and that was not productive,” Kloss said. “That’s when I had a breakthrough: I realized it was time for me to do me, to embrace the things that make me who I am.”

We’re pleased to hear that Kloss’s story has a happy ending for both her and the young girls who she’s teaching to code. Keep on keeping on, Karlie.

Camp is Turned Gorgeous With This Cedar Lakes Estate Wedding
Imagine the rugged beauty of Hudson Valley paired with a breathtaking camp-like backdrop of Cedar Lakes Estate, plus a truly gorgeous wedding day and you get this gem planned by SociaLife. The layers upon layers of white florals by Faye + Renee are tucked inside Brklyn View's imagery. See the FULL GALLERY and be sure to carve out some time for the film by NST Pictures as well.
Cedar Lakes Estate is one of those dream venues because everywhere you look it's picture perfect. From the mountain top views, to the outside amphitheater, gorgeous outside garden, adorable cabins and of course, the beautiful lake the venue sits on so when Megan and Sam reached out to me about capturing their wedding day I was beyond excited.
They are the most gracious, kindest and genuine couples I have every had the pleasure of working with and so honored they chose me to photograph their amazing wedding weekend at Cedar Lakes Estate. They put together a stellar collection of wedding vendors and created a true dream team. Socialife Events planned an coordinated the entire weekend and Faye and Renee Floral and Events created truly spectacular florals for the happy couple.
Megan wore a gorgeous lace wedding dress from Monique Lhuillier and crystal encrusted nude flats from Christian Louboutin. When the couple shared their first look on the mountain top, it was truly breathtaking. Sam could hardly speak after seeing his gorgeous bride! The weather was perfect for their mountain top ceremony and outdoor poolside cocktail hour.
Inside the reception space, Faye and Renee created the most amazing hanging floral installation over the couples head table. One of my favorite places at Cedar Lakes Estate is the dock sitting on the lake and I made sure to take Megan and Sam there for their bride and groom photos. Seriously, some of my all time favorite wedding photos for one of my all time favorite couples.
Megan and Sam met when they were teens, then again in college and then finally a few years later, they got together - FOREVER! They are the real deal and going to grow old together and I cannot wait to be part of their lives and capturing all the big milestones these newlyweds are going to create. Congratulations Newlyweds!

What's New (and Old) About the Nike Polo
The polo shirt — the one worn while riding horses and swinging mallets — was invented near the turn of the 20th century (the fin de siecle, if you’re fancy). Its more-athletic evolution, the tennis polo, came into play in the 1920s, and was later adopted by golf and, subsequently, as a casually elegant, versatile wardrobe staple.
For some years there was a harmony — what was good enough for sport was good enough for style. With that, the polo enjoyed a glorious duality. Somewhere, somehow, things changed: As sport advanced, the needs of athletes became more nuanced and the fabrication of the polo shifted from pique cotton to more progressive materials. This resulted in two general iterations: a polo for sporting pursuit and one for relaxing.
