Elijah's Backstory... Jesus why did I write so much.

Hello all! This is Elijah's backstory, I hope this is well received this is my first character backstory ever lol!

Elijah James was raised by his father, Elijah Sr. His dad taught him martial arts, weapons, basically everything he knows. He’s been training since he’s been able to walk. Learning various martial arts styles and different weaponry. His dad was an assassin, he wanted to pass down his skills in hopes Elijah Jr would be able to protect himself when the time called for it. However Elijah wasn’t aware of his dad being an assassin. Elijah never knew his mom, she passed when he was around 3 years old. His dad always told him he took more after his mom. Elijah was a kind and sensitive child, always concerned for the safety and wellbeing of others, he was wise beyond his years and strongly felt the pain of others. He wasn’t really a fighter, he more so enjoyed the philosophical aspect of martial arts.

As Elijah got older, he grew both in mind and body, always wanting to learn more and to improve. Always thinking what he could learn next or which learning milestone to complete next.

As he got older he became interested in video games, in fact they were a major part of his freetime when he wasn’t training or going to school. However there was one game which interested him most, Roblox. In his real life, he didn’t really have any friends, people were afraid to approach him because of his reputation. He beat up a few bullies and generally terrible people so he was seen as the scary tough guy on the surface, so he was alone, very alone.

There he met various people, however only a handful remained his long-term friends. There was one who stood out to him the most, a girl younger than him, her name was Daisy. He was so fascinated by her creative ability and her awareness at such a young age, she sort of… Reminded him of himself in a way, she felt like a little sister to him.

They played a lot together, Elijah was so concerned for her. He knew something was up in her personal life, and she always gave these concerning signs. He tried to get her to open up as much as possible so maybe, just maybe he can help. Whenever she told him how alone she felt, he understood. He knew how it felt to be alone, the pain from feeling like a ghost, like no one cares about you, or even thinks about you. Feeling like you’re not even a thought in someone's mind. He had his dad, however he always felt so distant, as if he knew nothing about him. When he wasn’t training Elijah or taking him somewhere, he wasn’t around, Elijah had no idea where he was, his dad never really elaborated on his “Business trips”.

As time went on, Elijah and Daisy grew closer. He always tried to cheer her up and be there for her when she was down or feeling alone. Especially after her arguments with her mom, until one day. She never came back online, he held out hope that maybe she would come back online eventually, a week passed, a month passed, and finally, a year passed. She never came back online. Elijah and the others were so worried for her, given her situation they were wondering if she was even alive. They all held out hope that maybe someday, she will come back online.

Years pass, Elijah is now 21 years old. Everyone is still in touch however they don’t speak as frequently as they used to. Life happens and well, you know how it goes. Elijah thinks about Daisy from time to time, wondering what happened to her. Sometimes he wonders if the others still remember her or even care about what might’ve happened to her.

Elijah’s adult life is uneventful, he’s still pretty lonely. Mostly keeping to himself, training, and just existing. He didn’t really know what he wanted to do with his life, he went to college for a semester but wasn’t interested in the program he was taking anymore, so he temporarily dropped it for the time being. Working part-time jobs teaching martial arts and other odd jobs, doing whatever.

(If you're uncomfortable with vague descriptions of violence don't read this part, skip to what I've bolded and labeled as "Post Fight".)

Until one day, he’s walking home one evening, only to see smoke rising in the distance… It's in the direction of his home. He starts running as fast as he can, he gets there and… It’s his house. His house is up in flames, and he sees his dad fighting someone, clashing blades. This person is wearing dark clothes with a hood and mask. His dad is badly wounded, looking like he can barely stand.

“DAD!!!” Elijah cries, charging in to help him, taking out his hidden katana from inside what looks to be a small instrument case, the katana has a white pattern with the letter E on each side of the katana's blade collar. He starts attacking the masked figure, only to find he is completely outmatched. The masked figure easily defeats him, kicking away Elijah’s blade, completely at the masked figure's mercy, Elijah begs to be spared.

The masked figure gets closer and says.. “Mercy? Your dad over here didn’t have mercy when he killed my dad..” Elijah is shocked, he was always skeptical of his dad’s “Business trips” but surely he wouldn’t kill people… Right? The masked figure has what looks to be amused body language. They say “Haha you should see the look on your face! Oh if only you knew just how terrible your dad is! He’s an assassin, he kills people for money. It doesn’t matter if they have families or people they love, he just goes and kills them for a goddamn paycheque!!” They go from what sounds like chaotic joy to anger really quickly.. This is very personal for them. Elijah’s dad finally speaks up, “Just who the hell are you?” He sounds like he can barely speak. The masked figure says, “Fine, if you want to know so badly then here.. You’re going to die anyway so I might as well reveal myself.” They slowly take their mask off, they appear to be a male, around Elijah’s age. Elijah’s dad is shocked, he says with fear in his voice “No… No… Kid.. You saw me murder your dad.. I didn’t want you to see that but you came in at the wrong time-” The figure cuts him off, “SHUT THE FUCK UP!! YOU KILLED MY DAD AND I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!! I'M GLAD I SAW YOU DO IT BECAUSE THEN I KNEW WHO TO FOCUS MY REVENGE ON!!” Elijah is watching in horror, his entire perception of his dad has crumbled.

While the man is distracted, Elijah takes this opportunity to strike, using a pocket knife he always keeps on him, unfortunately the man notices and grabs Elijah’s arm, and then proceeds to slash him with his blade, grabbing the pocketknife and throwing it away. The man smirks, “You know what.. How about I kill you first Junior?” His blade is right at Elijah’s throat, he could easily pierce it at any moment. Elijah’s dad looks on in horror, despite his wounds, the adrenaline allows him to charge at the attacker with full speed, throwing a knife at the attacker's sword arm. It lands, the attacker cries in pain, Elijah’s dad goes to attack with killing intent but he.. Hesitates, leaving him open for an attack, the man is able to land a killing blow on him.. He lays on the ground, bleeding out… The man says “Now you get to feel my pain Junior.. The grief and anguish that comes with losing your dad.. Watching him get killed in front of you.. I won’t kill you, I want you to suffer with this pain for as long as you live.. Goodbye..” He runs off, with Elijah being absolutely powerless to do anything..

He crawls to his dad.. Crying. “No dad no no dad please keep breathing please don’t die on me!!” His dad looks at him, telling him softly, struggling to speak. “Son.. I’m sorry I never told you about my work, I.. Didn’t want you to get dragged into it, I wanted you to have a normal life. But I was stupid, I should have quit while I was able to.. Your mother always begged me to quit but I just, I was stupid.. Please, remember everything I taught you, be better than me. Go make your own life, just.. Leave me.. I don’t deserve a proper burial, I deserve to burn away with this house..” Elijah’s face down on his dad’s chest, hugging him, the tears won’t stop flowing. “Dad.. I.. I.. I don’t know what to say to you, you were always so distant and you were never open with me.. I can’t believe you killed people. But I can’t hate you, you’re my dad! I love you!!” His dad, weakly smiling.. “Then I.. Can die in peace.. Go son.. Take my blade.. Take on the name of Jumper.. Before the flames take you as well.” It’s starting to burn, really bad.. “Goodbye dad.. I love you.” Elijah finally gains the willpower to run away, taking the J blade with him. Not looking back..

(Post Fight)

He ends up in a field, badly wounded, his mind, and body at the brink of completely breaking down.. He screams, having a complete breakdown, clutching his head. He yells, “I didn’t want this! I just wanted to be happy I wanted to have a normal life but no now my dad is fucking dead!! My life is completely ruined! I don’t want this, I don't want this, I want a new life! I don’t want to remember this!” He hears a train coming, odd.. Eventually he passes out, his E sword and J sword at his side.

He wakes up, in what looks to be a new world, with no memory of anything, all he knows now is he was a martial artist and that he’s “Jumper”.

Personality:

Elijah is a really kind and caring guy, he is very polite and respectful, very warm, tries to be as good of a listener as possible, and tries to help in any way he can. He's very selfless, sometimes to his detriment. He may seem quiet and serious at first but once you get to know him you see more of his true lighthearted personality. However he’s an absolute coward. When he’s in a situation where he feels powerless, helpless or where he has no control he panics really easily. He is a huge overthinker and worries a lot but manages it pretty well with meditation. He talks with his hands a lot, he's also very animated and dramatic. He generally trusts people but can be skeptical at times.

Before Daisy House - June 1996 - November 2016

Daisy House Era - November 2016 - Present:

[Massive WIP]

-First appearance at the house, no memory of anything beforehand, except the alias “Jumper” and being a martial artist.

-Saw all the memories, including the games made by Cultivator, anything pertaining to Daisy’s childhood on roblox and her friends didn’t trigger any memories for him. But there was this familiarity to them.

-First met Daisy again during a November Holy Day, with a small feeling of familiarity.

-Saw the old friends, each time he saw them they felt more and more familiar

-Has gotten closer to Daisy overtime

-Only recently has he started to “Wake up”, keeps getting the feeling he knew Daisy and the old friends at some point. Every time he meditated he saw his old self but he had no idea who he was. (Well now he knows!)

-Became more desperate to find out who he is.

-Was learning magic from various mentors(Still is)

-Will get his memories back from a trigger, most likely from a conversation with Daisy. (He got em back!)

-Went to visit Zailyn, ended up with her guiding Jumper towards the idea of him being Elijah

-Spoke to Daisy, told her that she felt familiar to him. Daisy used her powers to resurface Jumper’s memories, and they had a heart to heart and reunited. He now remembers he’s Elijah. Now… Only time will tell what happens. (PRESENT)
