I was just doing psychology work, and I couldn't stop thinking about how Elias' past actions would be traumatizing to himself and how they could affect him mentally and physically. You can take these as head cannons or theories or whatever you want, lol.

Elias has not only committed crimes but also seen them take place. He has plotted, he has been killed and tortured and covered with blood and guts and has seen people mauled and stabbed and shot. Those crimes to a normal person would be traumatic, but to Elias, they would probably be even more traumatic. He would not only have to cope with seeing murder but also the way it physically felt and the way he actually did it. He would have to process the sights, sounds, smells, and feelings while people begged for their lives. But I feel like the even harder thing to process would be the mentality shift.

One day, he goes from a serial killer with a god complex to an empathetic, lost child who's just trying to figure things out. I feel like people look over this fact, but HE HAD TO LEARN HOW TO WALK AND TALK AGAIN. That would be frustrating, and, unlike the show timeline, it would possibly take weeks or months, maybe even years, for him to get those abilities back. The first thing he thought was that Rossi was his dad and the next was that for whatever reason his dad was upset so what did Elias do? HE APOLOGIZED. Just like a scared little kid.

I feel that this entire physical and mental shift would fuck up Elias in soooooo many different ways that aren't just suicide and self harm. An example of mine is his romantic life. He might not consider himself worthy or safe enough to be around for a romantic life (and we know his family is his driving point). Elias needs a social life to survive and heal, and his ability to socialize would very likely be affected by his traumas. He's still sadistic and he shows psychopathic tendencies, and that could also translate to his everyday life or romantic life. He has visions about killing people, and he's paranoid that someone is going to recognize him. All of this stress and isolation could very well make him feel impotent, especially if he actively tries to pursue any kind of relationship and fails.

Sorry for the long ramble, lol. I'm just putting my thoughts down while waiting to get picked up from college. Sorry if any of that didn't make any sense or was just repeating.

I like the idea of the entire BAU team being queer, even the older folks. EXCEPT Rossi needs to be a completely confident bisexual and Hotch needs to have no fucking clue that he is also bisexual. Morgan and Prentiss are chitchatting about how they figured it out and Hotch walks in looking absolutely gobsmacked and goes "you can have both???" I need cluelessly bi hotch. I just finished Criminal Minds for the first time yesterday, and i am absolutely obsessed with the Elias Voit storyline, when i first moved onto Criminal Minds Evaluation i didnt like the way it was shot, the over use of swearing it just didn’t feel like the show i knew and loved, so i took a break. funnily enough the whole reason i decided to try again was because i heard M.G.G was gonna be in season 18 and i love spencer reid’s character so much that i decided to watch the reboot. i’m so glad i did the show was absolutely amazing, Zach Gilford’s (Elias Voit) acting was phenomenal and had me on the edge of my seat! his psychopathic nature of being so incredibly calm, the mind games, the back story! everything Zach did to portray Voit, made him my new favourite character!!!

AND THEN get gets brain damage! and is no longer the person he was- THE REDEMPTION ARCH FOR THIS MAN; and after all the pain and suffering he caused he knew what he had to do in order to keep people save, the scene at the end of season 18 episode 10 where Elias imagines killing the man sitting in front of him proves that he knows what he’s capable of, and this time around he wants to do better, not repeat his mistakes.

Rossi wakes up early due to his time in Vietnam but has learned to take his time getting ready in the morning because of Krystal.

Luke also wakes up early because of his time in the military but also so he and Roxy can go on their morning run before breakfast.

Matt is the only military boi on the team who knows how to sleep in because the mother fucker has 5 or 6 kids (he still gets the least amount of sleep).

Tyler was both shocked and impressed when he found out that Luke had been demoted before due to not following orders. (Luke will definitely do it again)
