hobbies include: close reading the Redwall series to answer my most burning questions. such as:

- can I replicate any of these delicious-sounding foodstuffs and would they in fact be delicious if I was able to

- corollary to the above: are we just supposed to read “oat cream” and “nut cheese” every time we see the words “cream” and “cheese”? I think so. bc if not, what tha hell are their livestock animals

- what is Society like? I don’t think we ever see a Mouse City or even Mouse Town though we do see castles and obviously an abbey. are we supposed to believe that most creatures are either in wandering bands or these societies based around a single structure (castle/abbey?)

- they appear to have an idea of what currency is (the bad guys always want treasure — maybe just to have, not to sell? but less ambiguous is some dialogue I just read, “acorn for your thoughts?” “you can have them for free”) but again, we never see anyone using money or making goods for the market. is this after the fall of Mouse Capitalism? are the bad guys (the idea of rat pirates gives me a headache, vis a vis the political/economic systems needed to power piracy) raiding preindustrial mouse societies for treasure/meat?

- corollary to the above: the abbey creatures have oats and wheat but we don’t see anybody farming or trading for farm goods on a large enough scale. is the abbey “orchard” really a like an indigenous forest farm of mixed foodstuffs? is that possible if you live in the same place the whole year or only if you travel each season? I have to do some googling

- both the lack of mixed-species families and the idea of mixed-species families give me a headache. has a squirrel never fallen for a handsome otter? what is the culture shock like if you marry into a subterranean mole family?

- this is the least “important” question but this read through I’ve been desperately trying to figure out What Size Everything Else Is. i’ve come to the conclusion that everything other than animals are at mouse scale, given that they can make seaworthy vessels their own size (a mouse sized vessel with real-world-sized waves seems impossible) and pick and eat apples and plums. but so far it seems like they’ve avoided mentioning how tall trees are — like a person compared to a tree or a mouse compared to a tree?

Last! Character! Intro!!! Today we're talking about Opal, our wonderful deity who knows just about everything. There are a few blocks in her knowledge, largely put there on purpose by those trying to avoid their gaze. But she knows as much as she can about everything there is

For voicing Opal, I wanted their words to be slow and deliberate as they process everything in the multiverse that flows through their mind at once. That much knowledge could wreck a weaker person, but not Opal. They were built to know and to last while knowing. I genuinely just love opals which is how they got their name but her entire concept is so Beholding TMA based that I almost regret not giving her a name that aligned with that

Opal is being played by the fabulous @just-jessie-d!! Jessie absolutely nailed that slow, deliberate speech and has brought Opal to life more brilliantly than I ever could've dreamed. They're also just lovely to work with and endlessly talented

With that, we're done introducing our cast of characters! Season two officially kicks off at 10AM CST tomorrow

I cannot wait for yall to hear what this fantastic cast has done with this story I wrote

Hello hello! I'm incredibly excited to announce that auditions are now open for Forged Bonds! If you're new here: Forged Bonds is a myth-bending love story following Aphrodite and Hephaestus from Greek mythology. It's a queer inversion of the story and I'm so excited to share it!

We currently have 3 phenomenal cast members on board for Aphrodite, Ares, and Dionysus, but all other parts are open for auditions!

Our Aphrodite is the brilliant @totcoc0a! I've sung Tot's praises many a time and it's because she deserves it. Our Ares is the incredible @taytayheyhey ! I've also sung his praises many a time but again it's because it's well deserved. Tot and Tay have been instrumental in the early development of this show and im so grateful for them

I'm also delighted to announce that our Dionysus is going to be the incomparable Mike LeBeau! Mike (he/him) is best known for his role as Tim Stoker in the Magnus Archives, as well as his phenomenal work in Tiny Terrors and The Town Whispers. Hes also in the upcoming @souloperatorpod (which you might recognize as being Tot's upcoming podcast) Its an absolute honor and pleasure to have Mike on board for the show! Hes a remarkable VA and is going to bring Dionysus to life brilliantly

Hello again my dear wanderers! We have another cast shout out for you, this time for @just-jessie-d! Jessie deHaan (they/she) is a scientist, podcaster, and streamer who is giving voice to our lovely Council member Opal!

Opal is probably the only Council member I didn't have a solid image in my mind for before hearing Jessie's audition. Everything kind of fell into place after that and im so excited to see what else they do with the character. Her audition was absolutely incredible and I know she's going to knock the role out of the park

I have some time off of work this week and have used part of that time to meet with some of my incredible cast including today's shout out person, Julian!

Julian Dailey (any pronouns) is playing Guillermo in s2 of the Fringes and my gods am I excited for them to do so. Julian's reads of the audition lines for Guillermo absolutely pulled a voice I had only had in my head into the real world. It really was a magical experience to get to hear this audition and go "Oh. Oh it's Guillermo. Oh hell yes." I can't wait for yall to hear what he does
