loves ice cream

he works at the town ice cream truck on weekends and most days during summer

he eats TONS of ice cream but dances it off and also eats super healthy so he wouldn’t be unhealthy

health freak

the truck wasn’t even his but he had named it

he named it berry nice

adorable

the owner actually painted it a cute shade of rose quartz over 

with a darker pink text saying “berry nice”

chan was overjoyed

on sundays, chan hands out free ice cream to the kids who chase after the bus

it all started when he spotted three kids staring longingly at the bus

when he asked them why they didn’t buy a cone, they replied “we don’t have cash, mister :(”

HE PAID FOR THEIR DOUBLE SUNDAE SCOOPS

when the manager found out

he was like

“…..ok so sundays are free ice cream for kids BECAUSE i don’t want you to empty out your bank account feeding kids ice cream”

CHAN LOVED GIVING PEOPLE ICE CREAM

all those smiles

all those toothy grins

all those sticky hands

he initially wanted to work for free

when he was nine, he begged and begged the owner to let him work

“yah, don’t you have school to go to?”

the owner finally gave in and let him work on sundays

chan had a very soft spot for the owner

she was a middle aged woman, who lived by herself

once every few weeks chan would visit her with some food his mom cooked

he would pout and sulk if his mom didn’t want to cook for this woman

“chan, she doesn’t even pay you.”

“mooOoOMMMM i get to work ! it’s so fun.”

then one fateful day

it was scorching hot

everyone wanted ice cream

and chan, mingyu and seungcheol were the only ones in the truck.

you were in the massive line with your friend, fanning yourself

you often bought ice cream from the truck, but you had never actually seen chan work there

finally, after what seemed like forever, it was the man’s turn

the man in front of you

you spotted a red cheeked, tired looking chan handing an ice cream cone to him with a forced smile

but apparently it was the wrong flavour

the man threw a fit

“how stupid are you?! it’s one cone!” he roared, throwing the ice cream cone to the ground.

“i refuse to pay for something i didn’t order.” he growled, and when you saw chan’s ashamed gaze, you knew you had to step in,

“there’s really no need to get so worked up over it. fine, he got your order wrong, but did you really have to throw that ice cream cone away? did you really have to yell at him in front of everyone like a tyrant? no.”

“mind your own business, punk,” he muttered, before storming off.

chan handed you your cone with a shy smile

he gave you a pale pink napkin along with it

when you had glanced at it, a phone number caught your eye

along with the word “thanks :D”

later that evening, you decided to call him

little did you know, he was pacing around his room

he couldn’t believe he had forgotten to ask for your number

what kind of gentleman asks a girl to call him instead of doing it first?

aFTER ALL, HE’S THE ONE WHO WANTS TO TAKE HER OUT

he shuddered at the thought of telling one of his friends, joshua

he wouldn’t be able to live to hear the end of joshua’s rant

anyways, as he was pacing around, you called

he jumped three feet into the air, and scrambled to answer.

“Hello? Is this the Berry Nice guy?”

“Damn, I didn’t know you thought I was really nice.”

“I’m Chan!”

“Are you sure you’re not named Berry Nice?”

“Ha ha ha, very funny.”

The conversation lasted twenty minutes

and you had planned a date with him

at an ice cream bar, no less

he hoped that the date with you would be as sweet as strawberry ice cream

so he tried to sketch a little cone for you

he handed it to you with a lil blush

“I just thought you should know that you’re as sweet as strawberries.”
