Robby speaking Russian without realizing it when he gets really drunk. He’s so out of it that he starts flirting with Jack too. Jack, of course, has no idea what he’s saying, but gets curious after a while and opens up google translate. However, he assumes that the app is wrong and is probably picking up other people’s conversations around them because this is Robby they’re talking about. The man turns into a tomato when someone so much as asks for his number. No way he’s saying stuff this flirty (and maybe a little dirty) to Jack.

Cheaters rabbot is so good and so insane (not to condone cheating, but these are fictional characters).

The way I’ve had this scenario in my head for months. Robby and Jack meet later in life and Jack is married, but Robby doesn’t know that because he doesn’t talk about his spouse (they’re going through some tough times) and he wears his wedding ring on a necklace so that it doesn’t get damaged or lost and always has it tucked underneath his shirt. Jack and Robby get along really well and pretty soon they develop feelings for each other. One night, they just sort of get caught up in things and go for it, only for Jack to suddenly push Robby off and pull out his wedding ring (because he knows it’s not fair to keep going if Robby doesn’t fully know what he’s getting into). Robby freaks out for a minute and is pissed that Jack didn’t tell him, but Jack explains that he hasn’t been happy with his spouse for a long time and that he wasn’t expecting this to happen. He says that he likes Robby so much and he wants this- wants him- so much more than he ever thought he would, and how’s Robby supposed to say no to that?

Widowed and divorced rabbot is great but I’m thinking about cheaters rabbot right now and think it’s under appreciated.

Abbot and Robby both married, both doing something they know is wrong. Just something else to add to the weight of their guilt but they can’t stop.

okay... hear me out...

a rabbot cheating fic where abbot and robby are in a casual relationship (i.e. lots of fucking, zero emotional intelligence) because they don't want to talk about their feelings for whatever reason. maybe robby is down bad for abbot, for a few years now, but he doesn’t want to say anything because he doesn’t want to ruin whatever it is they have. maybe abbot is down just as bad, but he has several hangups—from his dead spouse to how people perceive him.

now, they have an arrangement, but they didn't really talk about it so there aren’t any real rules except they have to tell each other if they plan on getting in a relationship with someone (like how robby gave abbot a heads up about dating collins). anyway, it’s been a while since either of them saw other people and there’s more domesticity in their arrangement lately that robby let himself hope that maybe this is his chance to make his feelings known.

what if, just when robby decides to tell abbot how he feels, he finds someone else in abbot’s bed. to make it worse (because i love angst), it’s someone they work with. and robby is just devastated but he just plays it off. abbot tries to explain that it just happened and that he was gonna tell him, he just didn’t have a chance. robby says it’s fine (it’s not) and says he’s happy for them (he’s not).

this incident makes robby take a good hard long look at himself and he decides that he needs a change in his life. so, he goes on a three-month sabbatical to rediscover who he is at this point in his life. meanwhile, abbot is panicking because he saw the hurt on robby’s face and he knows deep-down that the only reason he slept with the other person was because he wanted to bury the feelings he had for robby. and that he didn’t mean for all of this to happen.

anyway… that’s all i have for now. i don’t know if this story is gonna go anywhere, but i just wanted to put it out there. ending will be rabbot (of fucking course) but it’s gonna be a long journey to get there.

Sleep-talker Robby accidentally falling asleep while he and Jack are watching a game together and confessing his feelings to Jack.

Robby gets hurt at work somehow. It’s nothing too serious, but he should probably still get scans done just to be safe. Of course, though, he insists that he’s fine and wants to continue working. Dana tries every trick in her book, but can’t convince him, so she calls Jack. He shows up at the hospital in less than 15 minutes and is ranting about how Robby needs to let someone take a look at him the second he walks through the door. Robby still refuses and they start arguing about it in front of everyone. Finally, Jack gets so frustrated and annoyed that he says “Robby, so help me god, if you don’t go get scans done, I’m finding the nearest lawyers office and filling out divorce papers!” Robby grumbles, but ultimately leaves with Jack to go get the scans done. Meanwhile, everyone else is standing around staring at each other because since when are the two of them married??? Finally, Santos breaks the silence by asking who wins the betting pool on when the two of them were going to get together if they’re already together. (Spoiler alert: it’s Dana).

Jack watches Robby’s profile in the low light of the beach. Beyond them, Lake Michigan laps at the sand. The waves are inky, the only indicators of their existence being the sound of the tides pulled by the moon and the reflections of light dancing off the jagged movements.

He stares at Robby, silent in the stillness of three am, the unease of being on a beach before there’s any life in the sand settling in his bones.

The man in front of him isn’t Robby, nor is he Mike. This is Michael. Young and terrified, lost and yearning, holding himself by the elbows and hunching in his shoulders.

Jack reaches out, wrapping a hand around a bicep, curling around momento mori, “And you didn’t.”

Robby shakes his head, finally looking away from the call of the waves, or perhaps the memory of the desire to walk in until oxygen was futile. He meets Jack’s eyes through the dark, “And I didn’t.”

I don’t necessarily love the idea of Robby as an older Carter, but sometimes I like to imagine the things that Carter went through happening to Robby simply because I know that Jack would lose his fucking mind if they did.

Jack and Robby who are each other’s exceptions to most everything.

Jack, who hates when people try to help him after getting his prosthetic because he thinks that they pity him and is terrified of losing his independence. Robby’s the only one who can get away with it because Jack knows that Robby’s just concerned and wants to make sure he’s okay.

Robby, who will never admit that his mental health is as bad as it actually is. Who will yell at people who try to suggest otherwise or tell him to take a break, until it’s Jack saying it because Jack’s known him at his lowest points, so if he’s saying that it’s bad, then it must be.

Both of them not being willing to stand up for themselves, but god forbid someone insults or hurts the other one.
