The Life of an Average Gamer
Good day, dear reader. My name is John Mark S. Opano and I am 17 years old. I am currently living in Quezon City and I am studying in New Era University as an 11th grader. I’ll stop beating around the bush and start this rabbit hole that is titled, “my life.”
Tumblr media
It all started on May 12, 2004, when a certain boy was born on a hospital in Pasay City. I was out of my mother a tad too early and I had to be placed in an incubator for 11 days. After that went down, me and my family moved to a locale congregation known as Panaon. It is located in the province of Quezon. We would spend our lives there for 4 1/2 years until we moved to Tayabas, Quezon. This was when I became a kindergartener. By 2009, we moved to again to Canda, Quezon. Not going to lie, the entire experience I felt there was that of a fever dream. We only lasted there for 2 months until we moved to Pasay City had to stop a year of my school year because my older sister was diagnosed with Patent Ductus Arteriosus; it’s an abnormal opening where too much blood enters both the lungs and the heart and it can be found on fetuses. Her condition was only found after 9 years and she didn’t realized it. Thankfully, the surgery went well and she was cured from it. We moved to Sagana Condo and that was where I spent my 1st and 2nd grade in New Era Elementary. By 2012, we had to move again. From Metro Manila all the way up to Cagayan Valley. We moved to Old Centro, Isabela and that was where I spent my 2nd and 3rd grade years. This was also the first time when I got bullied because I didn’t know how to tie my shoes back then. In 2013, we moved yet again but this time to Nueva Viscaya. Diadi was a huge step up for me. I mean, yeah, the bullying worsened but this was when I participated in contests. Well, forced to participate in contests but it felt astounding. Moving to Echague, Isabela was calming for me. The bullying drastically lessened, I had my first best friend, first crush, first playwright, first wifi I ever used. No one was forcing me to go contests except, for the sports writing one. Echague remains a good place in my heart but moving to Burgos was an absolute pleasure. This was when I became a hymn choir for the worship service. 7th grade was fun, too. I don’t have to do group dancing activities because my groupmates kept forcing us to practice at their homes, and every time it happens, mom disagrees. The teachers made me clean the classroom instead, which, is a win-win for me. I always liked cleaning. This was when I also had my first group of friends. Calaocan was when I became extremely active in church duties. A small locale with a lot of people, yet so little time. After 2 months, me and my family were finally going back to Metro Manila. Well, sort of.
Tumblr media
F. Manalo, San Juan. Beautiful house of worship, extremely nice people, ghosts in the hallway. One of the most Ying-yang places I’ve ever been in my entire life and it only lasted less than a month. By 2018, we moved back to Sagana Condo, back when our 5 year-stretch in Isabela started. 8th grade felt like a breath of fresh air. No bullying, nice teachers, clean classrooms. It was nice to be in. That was when I met my group of friends whom I’m still friends with ‘till this day. 9th grade was the same except the extra added friends on my group. This was also the first time we had to make a game for our school fair. Our game trivia-type of game and a lot of people went on board with it. When we were “forced” to watch a German live concert in our school, we were “livid.” The band was called AB Syndrom and their music was a bop. I went to their Youtube channel from time to time. Even though I can’t understand a single word they sing.
I think we all know what happens after all of this. The pandemic happened and we can’t go out. I was devastated when it was announced that we can’t do worship services in worship buildings. We still did it in our homes but it felt like something was missing. 10th grade felt like a dream but at least I still have someone I know when I entered 11th grade. I’m talking about you, Alegre.
Now, I’m in 11th Grade, studying through google meets, online modules, and doing activities like these.

CHIKEMPIT
“Bat ka umaabot dito? Walang meron dito. Gago ka ba?” These words may sound confusing, funny, or offending to people but these are the words of CongTV’s Youtube channel description. CongTV is a Filipino Youtube channel that was founded by man named Lincoln Cortez Velasquez, who we’ll be reading about.
Tumblr media
"Cong” was born on October 27, 1991. He was the eldest among his 4 siblings. He joined the website around 2008 and uploaded his first video on December which was a parody music video of Rebound by Silent Sanctuary.  He continued making parodies and short skits until he took a hiatus in 2009 and came back 2 years later. He and his youngest sibling, Marlon Cortez Velasques or Junnieboy/JunJun (now Junniedad), were networkers. While doing his own job, he was inspired by several youtubers such as Logan Paul. He quit his job to pursue his Youtube career. After returning from his hiatus, he started racking up videos. This was when he also started the well-known “Usapang...” and “Sampung utos” series.
Tumblr media
By 2015, his channel reached 100,000 subscribers. This was when he started vlogging until it became his main content. This was also the year when he revealed his girlfriend, Viy Cortez. Vlogging became the main source of his views and subscribers and in 2017, his channel reached 1,000,000 subscribers. In 2018, he formed a metal band “Coln” with him as the lead vocalist and guitarist. The band released a single titled Baliw gaining more than 11 million views and it became the most viewed video on his channel.
Tumblr media
Cong’s Youtube channel went third place on the list of top Youtube ph creators on December 3, 2020. On September 2021, he and his brother was included in a Mountain Dew advertisement along with Filipino actor, James Reid. The advertisement went viral after Cong released a vlog about it with the ads’ behind the scenes. By December 2021, Viy announced on her channel that she and Cong are expecting a baby and by 2022, it was announced that the baby was a boy. As of now, Cong’s channel has 9 million subscribers with millions of views still uploading videos with his still unchanging personality and humor.

My Fear of Falling
Tumblr media
I always hated heights ever since I was a kid. My acrophobia came in when I saw the ground when me and my sister were swimming on a tiny swimming pool on the second floor of my grandma's house. Everytime whenever I see those accursed ledges, all I could do is instantly look away while my body begins to sweat like bullets and my legs start to uncontrollably shake. I thought I would escape from this and hide my fear forever but all of that changed when and my family went to Star City, before it got burnt down and re-opened.
Tumblr media
This is The Star Flyer, one of the extreme attractions in Star City. While we were walking, I noticed we were going outside to the extreme rides. Then it hit me, when everyone was eagerly walking towards this rollercoaster. I kept asking my dad why are we walking towards the Star Flyer. The only thing my dad told me was that the Dragon Express was a trial. A trial... the second ride, yes just the second, that me and my family are going to ride after a kiddie ride is an extreme ride. I was spaced out while I didn't even feel my legs walk towards the ride. Next thing I know, I was on it. My aunt was right next to me, my mom and my sister were behind me, and my dad, with my uncle, was at the front of the ride because wanted to feel like Superman. Not gonna lie to you, I was shook to the bone while I was sitting there. I never told my family about my phobia because I kept forgetting to tell them. When the ride started all I could do was curse on my seat. Everyone was smiling and screaming while here I was, trying to find my happy place. When slowly reached its peak, all I could do was stare at the damn ground. I was cursing, I was thinking of ways on how to escape the seats, I was getting drenched in cold sweat, and my body was shaking to the point of sounding like maracas. You know that feeling when a you're in a fast car, it drives down a short hill. That feeling in your stomach whenever that happens? Imagine that feeling but prolonged. That was what I felt when the coaster went down. The ride felt like it was going to the speed of sound, I was going crazy, but, I felt... ecstatic. Throughout the ride, my eyes were open. I begin to scream-laugh. My acrophobia suddenly, just, vanished.
After the ride, I switched my clothes my mom brought and fixed my hair the bathroom. I walked back to my family's circle and my dad asked me if I enjoyed it. I told him that it was one of the greatest experiences in my life. I kid you not, he told these exact words, "Well you ain't seen nothing yet, son. Check this out: My favorite ride in this amusement park!" And pointed at the attraction that was known as Surf Dance. Unlike the feeling I had before riding Star Flyer, I was actually looking forward to ride this and other extreme rides. He asked if I was ready and, like the cured man I was, I said I yes.
Next morning, I told my family about my acrophobia and they were surprised that I didn't say anything about it. I told them it was alright though and I thanked them for curing me from the phobia

Describe two characters having a wordless conversation, communicating only through gestures. Try to see how long you could keep the conversation going without any words spoken, but end it with one of them saying a single word, and the other one repeating the same word.
James was trying to finish his miniature scale of New York city. The reason behind it? He's bored. The only thing he needs is a bottle of glue to finish the Empire State Building but the glue was in his brother's room, which was directly across his room; far away from his reach. Luckily, his brother, Marcus, went up to his room, checking how James' project was doing. James waved his hand, signaling a "hello." Marcus did the same. James tried asking for the glue by pointing at it. Marcus looked at where James was pointing and nodded his head. Marcus ran into his room and back while holding a pair of scissors. He held it up and point at it with a raised eyebrow signalling if this is what James was asking for. James shook his head and pointed at the bottle again. Marcus looked outside of his brother's room and his face brightened. It looked like he knew what James needed. He ran downstairs and James was dumbfounded. Marcus went back up holding a cup of water. James shook both his hands and his head and pointed at the bottle of glue vigorously. Marcus just shrugged, drunk the cup of water he's holding, and looked at his room. Marcus' eyes grew wide and spat the water by accident. Marcus then shouted, "Glue!" Then James stated, "Glue," with disappointment.
