It’s not abnormal for the Mormon to escape his household in the middle of the night for a walk ; the cool air brushing against his face and dimly lit sky calms his nerves from the overbearing pressures he’s expected to surpass. Allows the blond to sleep with ease and rest his weary head. With a long and much needed sigh, his lungs is filled with icy air as he walks along the empty streets. That is, until, he turned the corner and spotted a figure not too far from his general direction.

Distance was kept until the figure fell to the floor and was greeted with a hand full of snow. It didn’t take long for Gary to quicken his pace, desire to help the fallen figure. With each step he took, familiarity jogged his mind and soon, he realized just who it was who had lost his steps.

      ❝      -----Stan ?      ❞

Steps halt, sneakers grounded onto the snow below. Worry appears on his face within seconds as a hand extends outward.  

      ❝      Hey, man. It’s just me, Gary. I’m not going to hurt you. You’re alright ? Not to sound rude but, you look awful.      ❞

        here’s the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth   :   she always feels at a loss when it comes to his religion. mormonism and catholicism are not so wildly different that she can’t find any common ground, not to mention her stepdad in the past having been a jehovah’s witness, which bore even more similarities. still, she looks like a lost puppy, but she’s trying. a delicate hand finds his, her thumb rubbing comforting circles across the back.

                ❝   honey, you’re not your brother. i know things aren’t goin’ too great right now, but that’s not a guarantee of anythin’, y’know ? you’ve got time   —   besides, everythin’ is to plan, isn’t it ?   ❞

He knows she’s trying, how soft and genuine her words leave settles his nerves --- even if it’s for a brief moment. Fear looms him. High school will come to an end and he will be off to spread God’s gospel to wherever they place him. He’d have minimal communication with his family and his girlfriend and, dear god, only He’d know where he’s going. There’s excitement but also distress he will disappoint himself and his family. Grip tightens around her fingers, desperate for her gentle touch.

     ❝      I --- Yeah. Yeah, you’re right. For now it is. It won’t be if I decide not to go on my mission. ❞

          bambi caught in the headlights of his affections   —   words that seem to shake her to her very core, word’s shes heard again and again. this time, this time is different though. she believes him and she prays he will never give her a reason not to. still, there’s nothing stopping the tears that brim in her eyes and spill down her cheeks. without another moment of hesitation, her face is shoved into his chest, arms clinging tightly.

                ❝   don’t go, please don’t go.   ❞

Breath lost, hidden within his lungs. His heart aches at the sight. She should never feel sorrow ; have tears like diamonds on the floor. Arms instantly wrap around her figure, tugging his girlfriend close, protective. He meant it. Every word that leaves his lips he meant and he hoped to god she knew. A palm rubs along her back, trying his best to calm her with his touch.

VISUAL ATTRACTIVENESS  :  💗💗💗💗💗he can honestly tell why people find stan stunning. he’s got an amazing smile, bright blue eyes and he’s built. there’s a reason why stan is popular when it comes to his features and gary is one of those people who fell for them.

FRIENDSHIP LEVEL  :  💗💗💗💗not going to lie, gary didnt trust stan after their falling out. stan talked and gary listen. he listened for a long period of time before he deemed the apology was acceptable. but, he still didnt trust him. he was willing to be friends with stan, to start anew, but it was going to take time. and it did. gary now finds stan to be one of his dearest and closest friends who he invites over for dinner or school work. he says hi to him in the halls and offers him the warmest of smiles, and stan does the same. he can tell stan grew up, which was all he ever wanted. to be accepted by him.

ROMANTIC  INTENT : 💗💗💗💗💗 okay but gary has the biggest crush on stan he just doesnt know how to tell him. he’s pretty blunt and straight forward with his emotions, but he’s just uncertain if stan feels the same – and he doesnt want to tarnish what they have. there’s something about stanely that feels so incredibly genuine and it makes his heart flutter and get butterflies in his stomach. he feels almost at home with him

okay but stanley is super handsome ! even when they ended their friendship, gary admired stan from afar. how can he not ?

its a slow process. to a degree he does forgive him but also not really. he’s not ready to do so, but he’s willing to try. and it looks like stan is also so it’s a start

ROMANTIC  INTENT : 💗gary honestly likes stan – both as a friend and a bit more – and that slightly terrifies him. he’s scared stan might end up breaking his heart once more because his friends see him hanging around gary again and it’ll affect his ego. he’s scared he’ll revert back to his youthful self and judge him for his religion again. he’s just scared in general, and it’s hard to trust him after what had occurred. it’ll take some time for him to develop anything, really, but he does honestly find stan to be attractive.
