Did some diet coach tell you that you don't need to be on a diet: but you need to make a lifestyle change? They are essentially telling you that you need to avoid the food you enjoy, eat less, and exercise more FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! That's the equivalent of being in Diet Prison! Why doesn't my thin friend Yolanda have to live in a "lifestyle change" where she pushes aside the desserts, pizza, chocolate and ice-cream? That is the big question isn't it? Why do some people just eat, and not get overweight, and others feel like if you just look at food, you gain weight? These are legitimate questions that the Diet Industry doesn't want to answer. They just want you to eat their diet food, diet supplements, diet plans and exercise plans to lose weight. The fact is, these are only temporary measures that will sabotage your ability to lose weight and keep it off permanently. That's the real success of a diet: not the original weight you lose, but the ability to maintain weight loss. "Eat less and exercise more" has become the common knowledge that is accepted by the public. It's been the excuse that thin people use to berate, and shame overweight people; to make them feel like it's THEIR fault that they gained weight, and can't lose it. Losing weight is something many people strive to do, yet most never manage to maintain any weight loss for too long! But why is this? Simply because people go on diets or try to starve themselves, but we all know this is only ever going to give short term results! Once you stop following the diet or return to eating normal again the weight will slowly pile back on. What you need to do is make simple changes in your lifestyle that you are able to maintain as part of your daily diet. These changes basically center around the food you eat. You gain weight from the food you eat, not because of a lack of exercise. Food is without doubt the number one cause of weight gain. The average female needs 2000 calories a day just to keep her body alive and functioning properly. So if you can make wise food choices and stay within your limit of 2000 calories each day then it's a fact that you will maintain your weight and not gain weight. So can you just imagine if you ate less than 2000 calories a day? It would result in you losing weight without doing any exercises at all! Then think about how much you could lose each week if you added a little exercise to your daily routine, you could get the body you always dreamed of with just a little bit of discipline. It's unfortunate that many women oppose even trying to lift weights for weight loss and fitness.The benefits (toned muscles, increased energy, and lost pounds) show in a few weeks. Lifting weights, done correctly, is the single best way to rev up your body to burn fat. The List of Reasons Why Women Won't Lift Weights But women find reasons to ignore weight lifting advantages and focus on the negative instead. Some of the more common reasons are as follows:
I'm afraid to compete with men for weights in the weight room.
I'll bulk up and look muscular.

In fact, one of the most popular exercise DVD systems uses body weight resistance exclusively. By the way, I am distinguishing between exercise DVDs and exercise DVD systems. A single DVD may focus on one specific type of strength training in a single session. The systems are usually a set of DVDs you use for a long time frame (90 days for example). Many start with easy routine and eventually move into much more intense workouts. They may also combine strength with interval training. Which One to Pick? My recommendation is to experiment with exercise DVDs (they are fairly inexpensive) geared to the type of strength training you think you would enjoy. Eat plenty of vegetables and fruit, these have vitamins and minerals you need to stay healthy and strong. Eat slowly, enjoy your food and taste every bit of it chewing each mouthful slowly and thoroughly. Eating three plates of salad instead of a burger and fries will not help, do not eat until you are completely full, eat until you are not hungry anymore. Your body has alarms that tell your brain it has received enough, pay attention to them and eat reasonably. A neat trick is to drink one or two glasses of water ten to fifteen minutes before a meal, this will fool your brain into believing you have already eaten something and the alarms will go off before you are actually full. This water will also make your digestion easier and faster. Drink plenty of water, all day, every day. Most of your body is made out of water and it is necessary to stay healthy. Water is used to replenish blood, to digest food, to get rid of waste, to liberate and eliminate fat and toxins from the cells, it is used in almost every process in the body, keeping your body's water reserves always full accelerates the fat burning process and helps your metabolism eliminate waste and unwanted toxins from your body. Like I said before burning body fat is easy, it is a matter of organization and determination. All you need to do is to eat any kind of natural, fresh food you want reasonably, exercise for at least half an hour everyday if possible, get plenty of rest and keep your spirits high. Remember this is a process, it will not happen overnight but you will see the changes in your body almost immediately. The most important thing to remember is to stay on it, the weight and body fat will come off and in this case will stay off.
