Have you already sent out the emails to the artists you've chosen?

Notifications to our contributors has been slower than anticipated. I'm worried about being flagged as Spam again so I'm sending out invites 3 at a time.

The order of notifications is first batch of artists and writers will be invited. Then we'll deliberate again to fill any other spots and send out those invites. Then anyone else will be informed they weren't chosen at the moment. I'll make a post when all messages have been sent out!

Has any of the mods hosted/participated in a zine before?

We all have different levels of experience with Zine and publishing in general. In college I edited and helped pick content for the school's magazine!

The other mods have a mix of experience from professionally published magazines to a variety of different zines!

Have you also made an account for the jsa zine on instagram or twitter? :O you may be able to reach more people this way, especially since there’s a possibility physical copies will be sent out + it’s also a charity zine

We do! I'll admit I dropped the ball a bit on that front. I'm hoping to pick it back up though! I've never really been Twitter savvy, and even though I use it for my illustrations Instagram is kinda fuzzy for me. However, I'll get better!

Will people who aren’t selected also be receiving an email telling them they weren’t in the zine? Or will they only know when they don’t get an email. I know at the beginning you guys said they’d get one, but I don’t know if that changed or not 😅

Yes, I'll be sending out messages once the decisions are made!

Right now we're about halfway through the art submissions and still need to review the fics. I'll keep everyone posted as we move ahead!

Is there an estimated day by when the contributor results will be sent out?

We've already begun discussions! We're taking our time to discuss things like page amounts offered and details in the applications. Selected contributors should hear from us between now and the end of March!

As we enter the Dawn of the Final Day of Contributor Apps,

I just want to say a major thank you to each and everyone who applied, spread the word, or just liked a post and moved on. This is going to be such a team effort and already I'm confident we have one of the best teams imaginable.

I also want to thank our mods for everything so far and I look forward to continuing to work with them!

Hey I really wanted to apply as a writer but I see you are only accepting PDF format. Is there a reason why? /gen

PDF is preferable for download reasons but if you need an alternative that's perfectly okay! You can try submitting in your preferred format and if it doesn't work we can work it out behind the scenes if that's okay?
