I know Percy's desperately trying to escape the godly world but not only do I think the gods aren't going to leave percy alone once he's in New Rome, I also think Percy's in the situation now where he can't refuse at all because like, if he was in the mortal world at a mortal college he at least would be able to try and be like "sorry I can't do a quest right now I've already used up my three excused absences this semester try again in the spring :/" but in New Rome? They will be like "Percy! It is an honor to be hand-selected for a quest. And by the gods no less! Stars above, you should be grateful! I don't know what your little greek camp has taught you but here in Rome, we respect the gods' requests. Your absence will be excused. Now go."

Do you know what it’s like to be pushed so close to the edge you had fully intended to jump into the unknown but then you get forcefully yanked back by the crushing power of reality and the deteriorating job market

This is about me believing for a solid week I was going to quit my job spend the savings from my first year working + interest (I’ve worked for almost 5 years) to live in London for 2 and a half months going to a gastronomy course next year

I was so close 😭 but then another company in my field announced layoffs and like my job is stable so like do I stay? Even though my soul is being slowly crushed and destroyed by metrics and engagement targets I am failing and the executive that used to praise me was like oh “she is not a top performer anymore”

Like why did that hurt me so much 😭😭😭

The thing about the "white cube" style of art gallery display is that it's actually not letting you appreciate the art in a vacuum. Art looks different in different displays, and I appreciate the attempt to solve that problem, but a blank white wall is itself an aesthetic, it has its own cultural connotations and background and associations. It is not devoid of extraneous meaning. A white cube is not a vacuum, it is a white cube. It looks sterile, empty, industrial. Not all art was meant to be displayed in a white cube. Leonardo Da Vinci never intended for the Mona Lisa to be displayed in a white cube. There is no such thing as a vacuum.

I know Young Justice is dead but I was watching 9-11 and Stephanie Lemelin is on one of the episodes and just hearing her voice again was such a whiplash.

I miss the show 😢
