I've seen a lot of ppl frustrated at Kant/the Captain for meeting up outside the bar, but my take on it was that was a deliberate power play by CC (not that I don't think he's inept enough to do so out of sheer stupidity!) - Kant had clearly been ignoring his calls, as implied by his convo with Style and explictly seen in his convo with Bison (and when he says he's sick of his 'customer' flip-flopping and doesn't want to talk to him anymore, that's obviously a declaration of intent vis a vis continuing his relationship with the police), and what do cops do when their informants aren't co-operating? They pile on the pressure. And one way to do so is to turn up in front of their informants in public spaces, because they are happy to use the threat of blowing their cover as leverage - talk to us, or else we'll make sure everyone sees/knows what you are. Wouldn't surprise me if they had someone tracking Kant and CC sent him a message along the lines of 'either you come out or we come in.' Look at Kant's body language - he doesn't want to be there, he's frustrated, he's on edge, but at this point he's also visibly exhausted and probably on some level thinking slightly self-destructively - if he gets caught then at least it'll be over, at least CC can't use him anymore, at least he doesn't have to tell Bison himself and see with his own eyes what the truth does to him.
I know fandom in general is sympathetic to the ACAB sentiment, but I'm getting the feeling ppl don't fully appreciate just how fucked up the dynamic between a handler and an informant can be at the best of times, let alone when the handler is corrupt or at the very least abusing their position! I've seen (valid) accusations of grooming levelled against Lilly, but it's not something that only happens to children - all it takes is a significant power differential and someone who is at risk. And we've seen CC using the classic combo of praise and pressure - he switches from flattering Kant ('I know you can do this', 'you certainly lived up to my expectations') to threatening him (which goes beyond the initial outright blackmail - when he says stuff like 'you think they'll let you live once we arrest them?', that is a threat, that is him saying to Kant: we won't protect you - you quit now, you're on your own).
I really appreciated your tags on the height as power play thing, because that jumped out at me when I watched that scene, and it was so sad seeing Kant desperately trying to wrest back the upper hand and suddenly looking so much younger and more vulnerable as soon as CC stood up. And I admit we're veering into fanon rather than canon now, but it just makes me even more curious about his timeline - how old he was when he got caught? Did CC start off as a sort of quasi-father figure? Is that how he reeled him in? Did it begin, not with blackmail, but with manipulating Kant into wanting his approval? Perhaps my most burning question, however, is: what if this isn't even the first time he's been used as a honeytrap?? And I know it's most likely just First being incaptable of not having ridiculous chemistry with every single man who so much as breathes in his vicinity (let's face it, there's a reason the top three 'ghost ship' pairings on that poll are all First-based! But isn't it also because of the potential Kant brings as a character - the potential backstory tween him and Style/CC, the potential hate-sex with Fadel...), rather than anything deliberate but...the *vibes*! If you lean into that side of things and headcanon that yes, Kant did in fact fuck that cop, then phew, there is SO much to unpack there!
This is why I don't get viewers sleeping on Kant - imo he's the most interesting character! There are so many layers! Out of the main four, we probably know the least about him, and part of that is because we can't even trust that what we've ostensibly learned is even true! That whole riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma thing? That's him! And not even because he's that complicated a person deep down - most of the meta I've read here has, I reckon it'll turn out, already nailed it. It's just that a combo of the tricksy and subtle way he's been written/played and the narrative role he's been given requires us to do some of the legwork ourselves (by which I apparently mean, you know, actually paying attention and caring??) to determine what in his words/actions/feelings/face is authentic and what's not, and when, and why, etc (heaven forbid we have to read between the lines!). Maybe some more casual viewers aren't used to that in their bls, and I totally get that ppl go into shows for different reasons and some just want the light entertainment/aesthetic appreciation of it all and aren't interested in deep dives and 10,000 word analyses, and that's absolutely their prerogative! We've all been there! But equally, you don't then get to complain about the writing/acting/characterisation when, by choice, you've skipped/missed/misinterpreted what's being put onscreen (disclaimer: I'm not saying no criticism allowed - there's things I'd have tweaked - just not when it's unfounded cos it's based on viewer indifference/ignorance). I don't want to use the term 'spoon-feeding', it feels ungenerous, and yet...!
Eek, this got away from me. Long story short: don't underestimate the lengths CC will go to just to keep Kant dancing to his tune, including risking his cover by showing up outside his favourite bar!
first of all, thank you for such a long ask, i love getting things like this in my inbox and be prepared for an equally long essay of my own shskdhd i will put it under a cut since your ask in itself is pretty long, but i agree with everything you said basically
i feel like every complaint i hear about kant just leaves me so very baffled. like at a certain point, you’re just coming up with reasons to be mad at him. and like i really wish that people would just fess up to the fact that they just don’t like him. that fundamentally something about him annoys them and that’s okay! you don’t need to like every character, but it pisses me off when people try to justify their dislike of anything by pulling reasons out of their ass. and like, okay, i understand that i obviously over analyze the shit out media i enjoy, and there are a lot people that don’t do that and watch with their brain turned off or just don’t put all the little things together. and that’s fine, but if you’re gonna complain about things at least make sure you’re complaining accurately. like some people didn’t even realize that christ was a cop until ep6 and apparently thought kant was doing it all for money?? when in their FIRST scene together, it is made explicitly clear that not only is christ a cop, but that kant is being blackmailed into this in order to keep his brother in his custody. you may not personally agree with everything he does, you may disagree how much of a choice he has in everything he does, but that does not change his motivations or the power that christ holds over him - and if you don’t realize at least those things, it’s not even a matter of media literacy, you are just not paying attention! or you’re skipping scenes and like, im not telling you how to enjoy shows, if you wanna skip scenes go ahead! but you can’t then complain about things that aren’t actually happening just because you tried to piece together what happened in the scenes you skipped 💀
and this complaint is especially silly because not only does kant explicitly emphasize that he’s been avoiding the captain and therefore we can assume the captain showed up to put pressure on him, but i feel like it’s been made pretty obvious that he doesn’t really have a choice in the meet up spots regardless? like they either meet at the police station/christ’s office, or he shows up in places that kant already is to talk to him, like the pool or the bar. so, i feel like getting mad at kant for that is so stupid? especially considering even IF meeting at the bar had been kant’s decision… he didn’t know bison was gonna show up?? he thought bison was in hiding and it’s his friend’s bar, so it’s a perfectly reasonable place for him to be and to be willing to meet up with the captain like?? he could not have predicted bison showing up after disappearing for a week post-failed murder attempt. like be serious.
when it comes to the acab aspect, i think trying to dive into people’s actual beliefs on that is a can of worms that will not end well shskdhd but in the very least, looking at it from a media perspective, i think in general people expect us to be supposed to root for the cops. like whether or not what you personally believe, the general sentiment in most media is that the cops are the good guys - because that’s the way we’re trained to believe that in society at large, so more often than not, it’s assumed that the cops in most shows are the good guys.
however, when you walk into a show like the heart killers, where 3/4 of our main protagonists are criminals (two murders and a former car thief) and the genre is explicitly a romcom, you have to also understand that the cops in a show like that are not gonna be the good guys! and i think in general, you have to be willing to understand that your personal morals and beliefs are not going to line up with the things these characters are doing. this is a show about assassins! if you’re going to try and argue for who’s morally in the right or who’s the most fucked up one, maybe this isn’t the show for you. and that’s okay!
all that to say you SHOULD be suspicious of the captain and his intentions - you should not trust him as some morally good figure because he’s been explicitly shown to be blackmailing and manipulating kant in all of this! he is a villain, explicitly so. and while i know we don’t have an exact age for when kant’s parents died and he had to start raising babe or for when he got caught, it’s very safe to assume this has been a long time thing. kant says their dad died young, babe says that kant raised him, so kant had to have been young when he had to start taking care of babe, and i’m assuming also pretty young when he got caught for his car thefts. so, it would not at all shock me if the captain saw a young, college-aged kant, who’d just lost his father and was desperately trying to keep himself and his pre-teen brother afloat, and saw an opportunity to put on the mentor role and mold this kid into what he wanted and needed. i think the lilly comparison makes perfect sense - because we’ve already been shown time and time again the similarities between the captain and lilly and the ways they manipulate kant, bison, and fadel. this being another way theyre similar would be no shock to me.
nor would it be a shock if the captain also made the relationship sexual at some point and kant having daddy issues and therefore being into it makes perfect sense as well shskdhd like you said i think it’s a combo of first having insane chemistry with everyone but also just kant’s character making these dynamics interesting - which is why first was the perfect casting choice they could have made shskdhd kant’s character in general is exceptionally fascinating to me, but i feel like i’ve made that pretty obvious with all my kant posting, and i don’t get how anyone can just write him off or view him as being one dimensional in anyway when he has SO MANY layers to him. he’s incredibly complex and that’s what i adore about him.
#yup yup tup#I said it before and I will say it again#both Madam Lilly and Captain Christ are the same just in different mood#both groomed our boys#the heart killers#kant pattanawat#kantbison#THK ep 6

A First Kanaphan Gifset | First + All the Boys I've Kissed (2024-)
I know it's established news that First has been collecting GMMTV boys like trophies, but it's sort of hilarious to recap. I haven't included Fluke (from The Shipper) because this is just on-screen kissing and I saw no actual lip-to-lip contact.
(Also, I made this pre-THK airing. Not gonna lie, I want First to add Joongdunk to his collection. I would dig it if Kant kissed Fadel just to wind him up, and/or Style just to make their respective boyfriends jealous).

Kant, a truly misunderstood protagonist (THK EP 1-6)
Welcome to First’s 101 class in microexpressions to understand the journey of how Kant by Ep 6 has fallen deep into the clutches of our baby assassin (because it seems some people out there skipped the entirety of KB’s scenes and missed out K having a brother and was being blackmailed by Captain Christ – like how? This scene was pretty much in the first ½ hour of the show)
EP 1:
We can all at least agree Kant is super attracted to the cute dude in red, yeah? – Instant attraction:

And immediately falling in bed with a beautiful man like Bison – the whole red room scene (which I am not putting up for reference in this post because it will just chew up my photo limits – but go rewatch the scene to learn what First and Khaotung are portraying): pure lust & desire (no emotional attachment involved).
However, by the next day, where Kant still has no idea who Bison was apart from his hottest (to date) ONS – he was reminiscing and smiling like a fool about said encounter (and here, let me outline it for you what First was trying to portray – Kant having a crush on his ONS), daydreaming of what he just experienced:

When he finally met up with Bison again in the diner, which he engineered – that’s when his mission started. We can assume Captain Christ (CC) painted the picture Bison as a hard-ass killer. But how to reconcile this with sweet, baby face Bison?
There is certainly an element of deception to Kant – it was easy for him to “fake” some of his attraction (if you want to call it that) because at baseline, there is already an instant connection. Bonus if he can score some kisses and make out session with this beautiful assassin. This is a guy who has tangled with drug lords before and some danger excites him, yes?
So, the rest of Ep 1 was Kant being flirty and suave (and yes, with some trickery to those flirtatious manner). And you can tell, because Kant was putting all these big, exaggerated moves (like wanting to date and become boyfriends with Bison straight away) when he normally would have started cautiously:

However, he mixed this deceit with sincere tidbits about himself like the conversation by the lake when he shared the meaning of his name and his aquaphobia:

But by end of ep 1, Kant was starting to get slightly desperate. Bison is happy to flirt but not commit. Fadel is also in his way. Bison, being a good younger brother wants Fadel approval, and I suspect, a way for Kant to prove he is serious about pursuing him. Bison is also diabolical in that way because he is a cheeky, not-so-naïve baby boy (as proven by his sharp observant of Babe and James) – the only blinkers he appears to have been when Kant is involved (or Fadel) – the 2 persons he cares for the most.
And so, he enlists his trusty bestie (who else would he have called? Kant circle of friend starts and ends with Style. Otherwise, he only has Captain Devil breathing down his neck and his baby brother who he wants to protect from the big, bad world). Yes, it was misleading of Kant not to tell Style the truth immediately. However, Style is 100% chaos and unhinged at best (and to be honest, I don’t think he would have said no if Kant explained his situation).
** Style comes off as charming, but he is also annoying, has stalk-ish tendency, does not know personal boundaries and outside of Thai BL world, we would have called what he did to Fadel (in the locker room at the gym) sexual assault (because you don’t kiss someone without consent and get away with it as easily in real world).
EP 2:
The desperation is now in full force. Kant wants to get this mission underway quickly. He turns up the volume of his charm and repeatedly try to sneak in kisses or showing his big boba eyes to Bison in the hope of melting Bison’s heart. Bison does clock on desperation – but he is happy to continue to with the charade. After all, having a gorgeous, hunky tattooist hitting on you will be good for the ego (and soul)?
Kant and Bison’s scene at the tattooist place? – when Bison was showing his “cat underneath the Northern Lights” design, followed by Kant trying to feel up Bison’s thigh - now that was Kant being sleazy and Bison incredulously laugh, and smile showed he is very much aware of it but still attracted to him.
Despite the sleaziness though, there is still hint of Kant being attracted towards Bison too (see exhibit below) - that lips biting and quick top to bottom survey by Kant 👌
And while it was not shown, we can assume Kant is being hounded by CC about his mission. Thus, to get his mission further, we have Tawan and the whole “make Kant jealous and showing his possessive side” towards Bison. However, Bison does not seem that impressed with it. Amused, yes – he knows he can kill these 2 buffoons with his pinky if he wants to.
By now, Kant is starting to get annoyed. Bison is still playing hard to get. The whole milkshake scene – when Bison challenged him to prove his worth and join him in the dance-off challenge. Here, again let me point out to you the micro-expressions First were making – fond smile by how cute Bison was acting, followed by the minute change to his eyebrows and clenched jaw to express how irritated he was but quickly smoothing it out to hide his annoyance (link)
Now, the whole dance sequence is a masterpiece. Yes, it’s campy and an ode to Pulp Fiction but it also showed the state of Bison’s mind and if you look closely, you can see both boys relaxing and giving in to the silliness of the dance as it progresses until they become a unit and converge at the end – where Kant gives a genuine smile to Bison:

It was also the first time Bison finally gave in and gives those sweet pecks to Kant when the latter asked for it (I truly think it was the first time Bison saw the person underneath the suaveness, and he liked what he saw – someone who is happy to indulge in a bit of silliness and fun):
EP 3:
Just as Kant was relaxing somewhat, we have CC coming down like the devil he is. Kant expression at the pool – that’s a man who is fed-up and frustrated.
Because of his conversation with CC, he had to accelerate his timeline. This is when he started to make huge mistakes in the name of his mission.
Firstly, by hastily agreeing he is into BDSM. Oh, I have no doubt he could have learn to enjoy it in the right circumstances and if Bison had the opportunity to show it in a safe and controlled environment. At the very least, we could agree these 2 were horny of each other - as shown by the beautiful gifs: link here. And remember, this was after Bison put on the nipple clamps on Kant.
Alas, with Fadel cockblocking them, all that was left was lingering pain + bad experience for Kant. So, it was not surprising he looked wary and hesitant when Bison brought up the BDSM expect to their wager at Kant’s friend bar. Nevertheless, Kant pressed on because he needed to finish this mission (and preferably before his feelings get even more tangled up).
Either way, Kant is starting to feel fonder of Bison. Mission is still on the front, but cute scenes such as him helping at the diner is a reminder to the viewers that Kant does have some feelings for him (even as he used it to get ahead of his mission):

The whole bar scene followed by the sequence in Bison’s room was designed to provoke uneasiness. Here are 2 men who are not on the same wavelength in terms of their sexual desire. I hope people can at least read how uncomfortable and discompose Kant was even as he allowed Bison (in his drunken state) to tie him up.
EP 4:

The cracks are starting to show. Kant taking pictures of the BDSM gears and Northern Lights photos are unnecessary for the mission – and after revisiting the episode, I think he took those pictures as part of him learning more about Bison (just as he jots down all of Bison likes/dislikes when they officially start dating in Ep 5). Similarly, him caressing the trophy he won with Bison? – that is Kant subconsciously showing his fondness (and perhaps wistfulness) to simpler time:
Anyway, this episode was when Kant and Bison starts to communicate slightly better – progress! I mean, it’s more about Babe but you know – baby steps. All Bison wanted was for Kant to open to him (one of the main reasons why Bison has hesitated before because he could sense that Kant has never fully made himself feel vulnerable).
So, Babe and “being bullied in school” is the catalyst for KantBison to truly form a connection – they both value family and brotherhood above all others, and in this, we can see Bison softening towards Kant (especially as Kant opens up about his past as a car thief, admitting he is not proud of it but he does want he must to feed Babe). Similarly, Kant is starting to see Bison as more than just a beautiful, merciless killer. This man helped him without hesitation, be his Robin to his terrible Batman. He sees someone with some moral compass – Bison powerful statement to the paedophile about “grooming” must hit a nerve in the boys (because I hope we can agree here that both Madam Lilly and CC ‘groomed’ our boys). Bison since he was a child and Kant, barely out of high school, not knowing about laws and scared out of his wits, agreeing to do the police dirty works to make sure Babe is not put in the foster system (which really hits me – HOW LONG HAS CAPTAIN DEVIL BEEN USING KANT AS HIS LACKEY???)
By the end of this episode, Kant is oscillating between relief, joy and guilt depending on what is the most pressing thing in his mind at that time – CC or his blossoming affection towards Bison. Sadly, no matter how much he likes Bison, Babe will always come first – all good parents put their children first and Kant who has parent-fied his younger brother for god knows how many years, will do the same.
The scenes when Bison gave his heart (and HeartBurger pin) at the bar followed by Kant’s showering scene highlights this beautifully:

(such a contrast when Bison is the one initiating the sweet pecks - Kant looking pleasingly surprised)

Guilt in his face
EP 5:

Kant is now slowly falling in love with Bison. All the little things he jots in his phone about Bison’s quirks, likes and dislikes show this. He didn’t have to show this off to Bison for his mission. Same with the date at the Arcade as it doesn’t really add on anything else towards his mission. He did all of these because he wants to learn about his boyfriend.

However, the introduction of James does highlight several things about Kant.
It underscores Kant’s worry about Bison (and how much he still does not know about Bison’s core values even as he is slowly getting to know him). We know Bison won’t kill the innocents (even if those people are jerks like James) but Kant doesn’t know this. Even then, he is still concerned for both James AND Bison. He doesn’t want Bison to hurt anyone not just because of altruistic reasons but he has started to care for Bison (and his soul).
Kant reaching out to Fadel and getting Style to persuade the latter to call Bison proves this. Even more when he subconsciously called Fadel “brother-in-law.” Kant said it in a rush as he quickly ran out to catch up with Bison – which means he really didn’t have the time to “plan” this encounter.
However, Bison and James confrontation made Kant determine to finish his mission off. It’s a reminder that dating Bison comes with risk. The double-date may have doubled (heh, a pun!) as a cover for him to put his shoddily espionage plan in motion – yet we could see Kant really enjoying himself when he was singing with Bison. Even those sweet pecks and pinkie gestures were genuine (or as much as it could be given the circumstances):

But by the end of the episode, when Bison worshipped Kant’s body (and I must say, what a wonderful scene to see Bison choosing to yield when he would have previously challenged Kant), that’s when viewers could see it. Kant’s soft tone as he gently caressed Bison’s jaw. And that tortured look as he closed his eyes even as Bison trustfully snuggled by him – yup, this is man who is regretting and tormented by his choice. I think we can safely say, he has truly fallen in love with Bison.

EP 6:
Kant is now way too deep and stuck in a hard place. He tries to get out of his deal with Captain Devil without success. His silence speaks volume when Captain Devil stated Kant has fallen in love with Bison.

His discussion with Style further emphasized this point – Style asked whether Kant could give up Bison. But he also pointed out Kant is toast if Bison finds out the truth.
And so, if he must give up the boy he has fallen in love to make sure Babe is not left to fend alone in this world – he planned the most elaborate, romantic date of what he wished he could have with the man who gave his heart to him in the initial place he saw said man when everything was clearer without any lies between them.
Kant broke countless of rules (as listed by Bison including trespassing, breaking & entering, destroying property and thieving) to have one special, magical night of what he envisioned to have with future Bison if things were simpler.
It is a testament to First (and Khaotung) as amazing actors that we can feel the wistfulness and bittersweet feelings from Kant while Bison shows a hopeful beginning to what he thinks is a joint future together. It was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time:

Link for above screenshot here
After the ill-fated mission where we sees Bison saving Babe, Kant has truly fallen for Bison. Even as he tries to convince Style to move on, he struggles to do it himself. Style intuitively perceives this when Kant joined him to find their respective lovers at the burger joint – hence, why he suggested that Kant adopts Bison’s black cat.
So, by the end of the episode 6 – we see Kant pining away while drowning his sorrow and regrets by drinking at his friend’s bar. The hope and guilt in his eyes when Bison called out to him is palpable:

If you reach the end of this long post - I salute you. Because this was just me rambling on to make sure I did not misjudged Kant's character (and I didn't!) - First has done a wonderful job portraying himself as a single parent who sacrifices his needs and desire to make sure his younger sibling has every comfort and leisure he can give - even if it means he plays dirty and make deal with the devil.
#first kanaphan#just a post to appreciate how layered and complex Kant portrayal is a character#in awe of First's acting and microexpressions#He is not even my favourite character in THK hehehe - that belongs to my chaos gremlins - Bison & Style#But First acting is top notch and he always deliver#kant pattanawat#kantbison#the heart killers#thk musing for me

THK random thoughts post Ep 4
1) I’ve come to the conclusion that Bison is a sharp cookie and using his unassuming cuteness and sweet smile to lure people in 😅. I kinda of suspected it but this episode really clinch the deal for me. However, despite that, he seems to have soften slightly towards Kant, especially after the latter showed vulnerability when it involves Babe, his younger brother. Perhaps it’s partly because Kant does seem to resemble Fadel in some ways (and you know what they say that we usually fall in love with someone who resembles our love ones - and one thing is for sure, Bison loves his big brother even as he annoys the heck out of Fadel).
2) Got to say, I love the whole Batman/Robin sequence. It was truly the first time I think Bison saw Kant being somehow truthful and not his usual suave front - cause even as he was charmed by Kant’s smooth talking and attention, he only really let his guard down (slightly) when Kant was being goofy (like during the dance sequence in Ep 2) or when Kant was dealing with the disgusting teacher in Babe’s school.
3) Also love that after Bison agreed to become Kant’s boyfriend despite him “not 100% trusting” Kant - he immediately dropped his sweet unassuming nature. From the casual way he asked Kant whether there was anything else he is hiding from him? To him showing his jealously streak and warning Kant not to mess around with him 😂 - I’m very amused by Bison saying he will make Kant into burgers if he cheats on him 🫣
4) I also love the vulnerability that Fadel showed in this episode - his outburst at the creepy farm place (really Fadel? Of all places!!) was beautifully done and emotionally charged. Such a contrast to their cold intimacy in the spare room!
5) I am also in awe of Style tenacity and his self- awareness (I can’t help but cackle how he keeps reminding Kant and us, how handsome he is!). While yes, he did agree to hit on Fadel because of Kant’s car - I truly believe he does have some sort of feeling (or at the very least, attracted to this broody hot man). And he is certainly intrigued by him! It will be interesting to see how he is going to cope now that he knows Fadel is a hitman. It seems he is slightly regretting it already with what we see at the end of ep 4. However, Style is bold and appears to adapt quickly. I get the feeling he will bounce back and be his usual gutsy self in no time.
6) I’m also intrigue with the underlying mystery of their next target and how it ties with Fadel/Bison’s parents being killed. I personally do not think he is responsible for the death of their parents - although it does seems Madam Lilly wants them to think that way? I might be wrong but I really do think Madam Lilly controls the narrative on what is being presented to our brothers and I suspect some of the killings she has presented to them are actually not really “bad people”.
Anyway, I remained obsessed with this show. Can’t wait for episode 5! We have our double dates (and it really seems to be the calm before the storm…either way, I’m here for the ride!)

THK Musing Episode 3 - so, after watching the episode several times, the following scenes stick with me the most:
1) The opening scene with Madam Lilly: She is a manipulative witch who has her 3 sons in chokehold. Played masterfully by Parn Thanaporn, Madam Lilly holds command as soon as she walks in the room (or foyer).
Keen, the oldest son (hello Pepper!) yearns for her mother approval. He is eager to please her and she knows this very well. She casually demeans him by stating his younger brothers are more adept in the field, knowing this frustrates him and will make him more determined to prove his worth to her. I also wonder whether we will see anything more with the short interaction between Keen and JJ’s character? - Madam Lilly definitely clocked on that encounter.
Fadel loves younger brother Bison the most. Most of us think Madam Lilly has a hand on Fadel’s first love disappearance or death? Either way, Fadel is desperate to stop Bison from making the same mistake as he did. And the way he did not outed Kant to her tells a lot. Bison is partly why I think Fadel continues to obey her. He may not like the tattooist and suspicious 🤨 of him, but we all know Fadel will inevitably give in to his beloved younger brother.
Bison, truly the youngest. He has a blasé attitude and seems to get away with almost everything including the casual way he cutely says “bye bye” to his adopted mother with Madam Lilly reciprocating. And dare I say, likely the favourite son? (for now) - although Fadel seems to be the spokesperson on behalf of the 2 of them (which I think again speaks volume of Fadel protectiveness by shielding Bison from the worst of Madam Lilly).
Either way, it’s hard to go against your adopted mom who has raised and molded you to take her word as gospel. I’m not buying the whole “we only kill the bad people” thing from her. I think the boys believe they are doing the right thing but I suspect Madam Lilly is also taking hits for people that while they may not be angels are not necessarily evil. She just presents the targets to our boys in pretty lies to fit her narrative.
2) Style and Fadel relationship: Style is a ballsy, shameless man who has too much time in his hand 😂 (and I say this with such affection cause this is Dunk’s best role to date). For a mechanic who technically should be working in his father’s garage, he appears to rarely spend time working his actual job. Instead, he stalks Fadel, working for free at the market/burger shop and spends time sipping cocktails at the poolside with his bestie.
Also, only Style will have the audacity to keep pursuing a man despite thinking he is a hitman....
Plus, I’m putting him on notice (although it is in keeping with Style character!) for crossing the line by intruding Fadel’s support group and making up the most outrageous lie (hah! And what’s up with the name Boonterm? Madam Lilly has a dinner meeting him and now Style using it as the name of his “dead dog”).
The sexual encounter that follow suits is well done. It is explosive but lack intimacy and emotional connection between the 2 boys (and I think it is meant to show this). Fadel's almost clinical approach... he is attracted to Style but he is not (yet) in love with this infuriating man. He said yes because he was partly angry with Style but also a way to claim back his control that is currently shaken by Style (plus the lust he felt 😂 - can’t deny that! And I think he believes this will get Style to leave him alone so that he can continue to brood in peace. But as we all know - Style once he is fixated, does not let go)
Similarly, Style had this satisfied look on his face as he slyly clocks on how Fadel responds to him during the NC scene. Again, I don’t think Style himself is in love with Fadel (yet) - more intrigued and he wants to peel layers of the gorgeous and sexy, brooding man in front of him.
Also, the song choice during the NC scene between Style/Fadel! I don’t know the artist or song name. However, the lyrics talks about being in the moment, having a reason to be someone else (which reflects well on Fadel state of mind as he continues to grief his first love).
3) Kant and Bison relationship: Kant is desperate and it shows in this episode. While he likes Bison, he is definitely thinking more about getting the job he is assigned by Captain Christ done (for now) so that he can finally get the clean slate he wants to live with his younger brother.
I personally thought the discussion on BDSM etiquette at the tattoo parlour quite well done - the hesitancy from Bison part as he gauge Kant's limit plus Kant fake enthusiasm when he said he enjoyed the slapping part. Bison is a novice dom and it shows. However, I did think Kant was starting to enjoy the nipple play/pain before Fadel cut short of that encounter - unfortunately, once the sexual component is gone, Kant is only left with the painful part as Bison was not given the opportunity to give the aftercare to his partner to make the encounter a pleasant one.
Which brings us to the ultimate ending scene - it is uncomfortable to watch and meant to be depicted that way. Bison thinks he has finally found someone who matches his taste. However, high in drug and alcohol, he cannot read Kant's expression, which clearly screams discomfort. An experience dom would have stop the scene. Bison is neither experience nor coherent enough to do so. Kant, trapped (by his own making because he underestimated Bison's tolerability to whatever drug he gave in the club) and now, in the mercy of a hitman. He can't even say his safe word (I will never be able to see a penguin in real life ever again without thinking of these 2!) because he needs to be at the house to complete the mission.
(I must add - the background music choice while Bison gleefully ties Kant is a good choice!!)
Either way, it will be interesting to see whether Kant will eventually enjoy this aspect of a relationship as they move forward. Also, I'll be interested to see if Bison will ever find out that Kant was faking his enthusiasm/consent re: BDSM cause I can't help but think that it will devastate him.
shout out to all 4 boys - I think all of them played their roles masterfully

THK Musing of Kant and Bison relationship so far (Ep 1 & 2)
I can’t stop thinking about this especially after I find out that there is a more accurate translation of what Kant said to Bison when he was trying to teach the latter how to bowl (from ep 1)

Source: link (the screenshot is from this link!!!)
Because oh, the 🐈⬛ & 🐭 teasing we see after the above scene gives such nuances beyond just Kant flirting and Bison playing hard to get (and also wary with Kant's motive).
The now infamous red room scene - we have Kant doing that little pat on the pillow, it’s a gesture of Kant being dominant (and he strikes me as someone who has always been in control, except when he had to obey Captain Chris, where he was basically coerced into doing the spying for his younger brother sake🫣)

Which led to Bison’s almost incredulous smile even as he felt instant attraction to the gorgeous guy he just met at the bowling alley.

Because Bison himself has never yielded to anyone, apart from Fadel (and he is already testing his boundaries with his older brother) and likely "Khun Mae."
We see the dynamics between these 2 established after that with Kant keeps trying to reigning some sort of command on Bison but Bison resisting, all undertone by them flirting like crazy (heh) (either Bison reminding Kant that he is still his own person or him positioning himself higher than Kant)

Even when Kant has the slight upper hand (because he is just physically taller than Kant), Bison is quick to deny him (like the toilet scene)
Or the garden scene (where again, Bison's is sitting higher than Kant, plus that chin gesture - it may look sweet, but it's a reminder to Kant that Bison remains in control)

Followed by the bowling scene (where Kant was quick to remind he allowed Bison to win)

Bison was then quick to counteract by challenging Kant to prove himself devoted to him by dancing together. The slip up of Kant's mask while Bison sharply observing that change in his face 🧐

And oh, that dance no!!!!
Everyone should take note not only the lyrics (which reflects Bison's heart and mind warring with each other - how clever of P' Jojo), but also the dance itself - I had to watch it several times to notice the first few sequences were the boys dancing on opposite directions (although still complimentary), but as they converged, the boys start to become in sync and came together at the end

I might be alone in this, but I think it was only after that dance Bison realised Kant can yield some of the control and meet him halfway, which then led to himself relenting and giving those sweet pecks on Kant's cheeks/lips.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see their tug of war power balance continues because as the preview in episode 3 shows, Kant continues to push but Bison does the same and refuses to bow down (I suspect Kant will end up liking the loss of some of his autonomy to Bison, at least in the bedroom anyway)

#thk musing for me#thk ep 1#thk ep 2#kantbison#I love StyleFadel cat and mouse games as well and I might write something about them later on#But for now KantBison still holds my heart#firstkhao#the boys have always excelled in microexpressions and the past 2 episodes continue to highlight how amazing they are as actors#the heart killers

Me and @williamrikers were talking today about how there seem to be some pretty significant differences in the Caged Again subtitles on WeTV vs Gaga and it got me curious about THK. So for anyone wondering, the YouTube and iQIYI versions of THK both have the exact same subs 👍🏻
#wow….😳#make so much more sense now#I already like the tug and war dynamic#but now something in my brain click!!#khaotung thanawat#first kanaphan#kantbison#the heart killers

THK Episode 2 Rambling Thoughts
Still obsessed with this show. All four boys have firmly established their characters, which continues to fascinate me.
Some stuffs that strike me as I watched the episode for the 4th time 😂….
1) Bison and Fadel’s opening scene - Bison is suffering from burnout while Fadel is exhausted (with everything).
Bison being more careless with the job? - not only it is a sign he is getting distracted by Kant but also signalling to Fadel he no longer cares about what could happen if they get caught (and I’m sure this will bite them back in the future). We already see glimpses of it - the police are suspicious of them, which means they have already been making mistakes.
Fadel’s world (at present) consists of his brother, his one reprieved as a cook and assassin. He seems depressed and apathetic to everything else. So, when Bison calling him out saying he has “no heart” - it’s a reflection of Fadel’s emotional state. Luckily we have Style starting to shake his world.
2) Kant and Bison tug and war continues to be intriguing
I have no doubt they are attracted to each other. However, Bison despite his naivety (in some ways) is smart enough to be wary of Kant’s motive. You don’t get to be an assassin (plus having an older brother that keeps harping you to be careful) and not be somehow paranoid. So, while he allows Kant to court him (if you will), Bison still keeps Kant in arm’s length.
It’s fascinating to see Kant’s suave mask breakthrough time and time again each time he is denied by Bison. Must be a hit on his ego. And oh, what a nice surprised to see him being calculated - hiring Tawan, knowingly turning late to his date with Bison and then acting all possessive of Bison.
But it was only after Kant did the dance number with Bison that the latter thawed a little bit - giving him those sweet pecks on Kant’s cheek and lips (when previously he denied all attempts by Kant).
Speaking of which, the dance routine is cute and cheesy but has several hidden contexts - our boys matching each other moves? - tells me they are quite equal in their power balance here (even if at present Kant has the upper end because Bison doesn’t know the former is aware of his other occupation). And those lyrics!!! - it reflects the Bison state of mind - he doesn’t fully trust Kant (yet).
Either way, the sneak peak we have from ep 3 tells me the tug/war power balance will continue to occur and I’m looking forward to it
3) Style and Bison conversation in the burger joint is also interesting to me.
Style immediately clocking that Bison is Kant’s type. Bison giving his blessing for Style to pursue Fadel (and in fact wants Style to fall in love with Fadel, if possible) tells me Bison does care for his brother deeply. Similarly, Bison’s admission to Kant he allowed Style to pursue his brother because he wants Fadel to live a little (and the aim of Fadel being distracted was just a bonus).
It’s also the point where Style realised how to get under Fadel’s shield of armour. Bison hinting on Fadel’s nature gave Style the ability to know what he needed to do beyond just annoying Fadel to submission.
And since Style (out of all four of them) who actully has zero idea whatsoever of the situation - his actions towards Fadel is his genuine attempt to help Kant (what a good bestie 😂).
4) Which brings me to Style and Fadel relationship. Yes, Style is boisterous and shameless but he is also sharp and likeable, pretty much by everyone except for Fadel (soon to change!)
That’s why the sauna and locker scenes were great to watch. He realises Fadel despite his taciturn nature is attracted to him. Prior to the Bison/Style conversation, Style’s method of flirting with Fadel was more relentless badgering mixed with some cheeky revenge (he probably wasn’t thinking much of seducing the man, beyond just wanting to distract Fadel from noticing Bison/Kant interaction).
But soon after that, he shifted gear and lean on seducing Fadel with his look and body more (good on him).
And the ending scene of Fadel being angrily upset with himself cause he can’t help but be attracted to Style? - oh yes, that really reflects the turmoil in his mind.
Can’t wait to see how this unfolds in episode 3 😆
- also, I am intrigued by Bison decision to draw his brother’s daily activities rather than writing it down. It kinda tells me he is artistic and likely detailed orientated. The latter important for his job as an assassin while the former is what he really wants to pursue in his life.
#purely for me#thk episode 2#my rambling thoughts#likely won’t make sense#but eh I already wrote how much I adore the boys characterisations in my main blog#lol#the heart killers#kantbison#stylefadel

THK more stray thoughts - Episode 1
Bison knows he can kill Kant with his pinky if he wants to but he doesn’t know Kant knows that.
Bison thinks he hold all the power when really Kant chose to flirt with death and I think about that a lot cause that makes Kant the bolder one.
Style clocks on how dangerous Fadel is from the get go. It also seems he already has some semi-awareness Fadel is somewhat shady. And so, for him to consciously still choose to pursue Fadel aggressively and shamelessly even with the sweeten deal of Kant’s car make him the wild one.
I can see why Kant and Style are best friends - their concept of fun is by being insane.
Bison and Fadel truly have no one but each other - I am not sure how amiable their relationship with the adopted mother and older adopted brother. But I am guessing the adopted mom/older brother relationship with our assassin brothers are more align to somehow boss/worker rather than true familial ties. So, I can see why they are protective of each other. Fadel’s protectiveness towards Bison is obvious. However, despite Bison cavalier attitude at times, I get the impression he is just as possessive towards Fadel.
I also think it will be the best interest of everyone that Bison and Style do not meet and become besties - otherwise I fear for the health of Fadel and Kant.
#I guess you need to be bold shameless and fearless to court hitmen#and that actually makes Kant and Style the more dangerous duo of our foursomes#THk rambling thoughts#thk episode 1#first kanaphan#khaotung thanawat#dunk natachai#joong archen#kantbison#stylefadel

THK episode 1 rambling thoughts
I am obsessed with this show. I have watched episode 1 five times! And I am absolutely in love with all 4 main characters.
I am not good at writing in-depth analysis or meta of any series as I tend to take things to literally sometimes. However, several things that strike me:
Kant and Fadel are more similar than we (I) think: Fadel with his job as an assassin by night and chef by day is precise with whatever he does. One only needs to see when he cut those tomatoes perfectly and carefully prep the burgers. Similarly, Kant as a tattoo artist means he needs to be meticulous and patient when he designed + apply those tattoos on his clients. Both also clearly love their brothers and willing to do die anything for them - including letting said self being blackmailed multiple times by a shady cop or moving your entire life hood/business to another town cause your beloved baby brother went bonkers during a drunken karoake session. Both also internalised their problems and project calm externally - although Fadel comes across as broody (but handsome) while Kant appears more affable (also handsome!) because of his flirtatious nature. Nevertheless, this is one of the reason why I think Kant & Fadel clashes (apart from Kant wanting to boink Fadel's baby brother) - they are too similar in nature and knows how the other operates.
Style and Bison are chaos incarnates and gremlins to the core. While Style may come of as ridiculous and bold, he is sharper than he looks. The fact that he can get under Fadel's skin so quickly means he clocks on what irritates Fadel and just roll with the punches without fear. Similarly, when Style told Kant he will only hit on Fadel if Kant gives up his precious car? That is him checking out Kant's interest in Bison because he knows how much Kant adores that car. Bison despite his sweet look is cunning and knows how to play to his strength. We know he has Fadel wrapped around his fingers. And while Kant may be the one flirting (at this point), Bison is the one pulling the strings. Even from their first one night encounter, Bison sets the pace (and tone) - from declining to give his name to boldly stating "You're not doing this solo, you know?". Plus while he seems receptive towards Kant's flirting (later on), Bison is constantly watching Kant's moves and calculating in his mind how much he wants to trust him.
Fadel and Bison relationship as brothers - they are polar opposites. However, it is obvious Fadel loves Bison even though he does not truly understands his lil brother. Similarly, while Bison may rebel, he ultimately obeys his big brother. After all, he wouldn't have asked Kant to win Fadel over if Kant ever wants to date him. May I also add that both Bison and Fadel are broken in some ways and it will be interesting to see their background story as the series progresses. I also personally think while Fadel is more stoic on the outside, he also has the gentler/fragile heart when compared to Bison.
Kant and Style are crazy - the former knows Bison is a hitman but still decides to seduce him (even with him being blackmailed, you can't convince me that is enough reason to proceed with the seduction). Style does not know Fadel is a hitman - however, the fact that Kant does not feel the need for his best friend to know of this important fact tells you a lot about how bold and fearless Style can be.
Kant, Bison and Fadel have control issues - in some ways they are all powerless and have no say on how to live their live. From Kant being frequently used by the police to do their dirty job to Bison/Fadel being raised as assassins. So, it certainly will be interesting to see how the 2 couples face their lack of control - some people have already theorized the BDSM scenes we will be seeing from KantBison stem from the need to have/give up control and it certainly seems to be heading towards that direction.
Either way, I am enjoying the cat and mouse game both couples are playing (although Fadel is clearly an unwilling participant at present). Both sides are convinced they have the upper hand, but I think all 4 are actually on a more even plane than they themselves realised.
#this is purely for me#not expecting anyone to agree with me#the heart killers#random rambling#thk episode 1#kantbison#stylefadel#i adore all 4 boys but I have a soft spots for my gremlin boys
