I'm basically just using Tumblr to rant / get my thoughts out. I'm an artist, writer and somewhat of a theorist (even joke theories). I absolutely love the Big Four, Jack Frost (rotg) is my favorite character of all time and Merida is my favorite Disney princess.

Miraculous Art Club AU part 3
Part 1 / Part 2
(I have lightly changed Marc's ladybug mask)
I had originally planned to just share a little on this au before I make a YouTube video for it but with how long it's taking for me to finish my High Guardian Spice rewrite first, it's not gonna happen for a while. Meanwhile I genuinely wanna share more on this au because I'm on a miraculous fix right now.
Tumblr media
Notice that I low-key put the couples in similar poses to each other? This was 100% unintentional 😆 (Edit: changed Mari's pigtails)
I had also wanted to finish my redesigns for our main character's civilian fits before anything else just to try and keep myself in some type of order to get this done.
And you know that fun little fact of how Marinette and Adrien's color pallets are the inverted colors of each other to kinda showcase they were made for each other? Well, I decided to have some fun and apply a color language for all of the couples in this au. They're not all inversions, but they all have some type of rule to tie their color pallets together in pairs. I also decided to challenge myself and apply it to their superhero forms as well because I hate myself 😂
So we'll get into the designs as well as some of my rewrite storyline. I ended up sharing a lot more than I expected so this isn't super organized. Especially when I got to the Adrien section I kinda just started talking about potential Nathaniel plot. But I did my best to keep some sort of order.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, I think I'm the only person who's realized that, while Marinette and Adrien are inversions of each other, Ladybug and Chat Noir also have their own color language.
Ladybug is red and black while Chat noir is black and green. They share one color and sport an opposite color, red and green. And which color that's mainly sported is switched (red = Ladybug's main color vs green = Chat Noir's secondary color).
That being said, I decided to not only use that for Marc and Nathaniel's colors, but to have them wear each other's colors in the miraculous like in canon with Caprikid/Roosterbold. So Marc's colors are black and green while Nate's are red and black.
In my au, Marc starts the first episode in a much more boring fit of a green hoodie under a black hood jacket with black pants and boots, but then Juleka would try to help him express himself more by letting him borrow some of her clothes (they just happen to be the same size). And Juleka is much more into the vampire/witchy aesthetic, hence why he has a crop hoodie with the moon phases on it. The backpack is her's from the year before as well. The frog purse I thought would just be cute for Tikki to be sticking out of, but I like to think it's a present from his mom before the big move or maybe something he got as a kid but never used again because he was bullied for it (finally using it again now that he's gained some more confidence). Now don't get me wrong, he's not going to be more confident like Marinette was after the events of origins. He's still going to have this extreme social anxiety that he has to deal with, but with the help of his childhood friend, Luka, and now Juleka, he's finally found it in himself to at least dress the way he wants.
I don't have nearly as much to say about Nate's fit because he doesn't have the symbolic costume change that Marc gets. Just that while his colors are red and black, the splotch pattern on his shirt is kinda meant to look like the cataclysm of the cat miraculous he uses. Similar to the moon phase wheel on Marc's hoodie (a spot/circle shape), it's a peek into the actual miraculous that they use.
Now, despite his last name, I personally never saw him as Jewish for the longest time. I've never really been one to actively look for someone's ethnicity but when the topic came up, weirdly enough, if anything I got more of a Viking vibe from him. Though it wasn't until after saying that out loud to myself that I realized that might be because he reminded me of Hiccup in the first How to Train Your Dragon 💀🤣 But I am more than willing to make him both Viking and Jewish. Both on his deceased dad's side, his mom isn't very present in his life (emotionally). His cuffs are kind of the calling card for my viking headcanon, while his miraculous/ring's disguised form has the Chai symbol on it, which means life. And because he's Jewish on his dad's side, it's almost like a sign from his dad to keep living his life 🥹
Again I'm not going super deep into the family drama right now because this post is already going to be long enough as it is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their colors are inverted like Marinette and Adrien. I will say, when you look at Luka inverted, the gray of his shirt and the teal of his hair may be more light brown and orange. But that's why Chloe has sparkly brown eyeshadow and orange lensed glasses 😋 I make it work.
Luka is canonically the only other boy Chloe has considered attractive so how could I not pair them in the au? Luka is a very calm and collected person that can bring Chloe down to reality and because he's always been so responsible in helping others most of his life, Chloe makes the time to spoil him while trying to be more responsible around him so he can stay loose.
Yes, Luka's gonna be less of a heartthrob musician cliche in this au. He's already canonically the therapist of basically everyone in Paris while keeping Ladybug and Chat Noir's ID's secret, boi has to be stressed out.
He doesn't go to Collège Françoise Dupont because of a delinquent rep he indirectly built while protecting Marc from bullies growing up. So he'd meet Chloe for the first time, outside of the school bully context and be able to see through her spoiled brat persona.
I'll note here that in my au, Chloe doesn't see Adrien romantically. She's gonna be more like the protective sibling and see Adrien as family. But she's willing to make people see them in a romantic light if it means protecting Adrien from fangirls who'd take advantage of him.
Which would make it kinda funny when Adrien and Marinette start liking each other. Like, by the time they do, Chloe's redemption arc has already happened (she's still the sassy queen we know and love but she's much less insulting and more mature now. I see her being pretty similar to Stella from Winx (s1-3 Stella, we don't talk about Stella passed the first movie)(I my god I just realized Luka x Chloe is totally super Stella x Brandon coded 🤣🤣🤣)) so she no longer holds any antagonistic will towards Marinette but because of their past, she knows that she has no room to go against the adrienette ship. So she's kinda just watching their feelings grow and is like, "... This is so weird."
Now, is it kinda gaudy to wear pearls, diamonds and gold all in one outfit? Yes. Is Chloe also a teenager trying to show off how rich she is, partially in the hope that she'll make more friends using her money? Very much so. I doubt her shorts pass the school dress code but she most likely paid off the school board to let her dress however she wants.
(It wasn't until after I finished writing this post that I realized I never said what their super names would be ☠️ I was just expecting to share some art in my first post before my video. So before we go any further:)
Marc/ladybug = Beetle Bug
Nathaniel/black cat = Catico (like calico but cat pun)(I'm gonna make it a thing that Nathaniel's dad loved puns and dad jokes)
Luka/fox = Otocyon
Chloe/dragon/bunny = Ladoness/Bella Bunny
Alix/ox = Onyx
Juleka/turtle = Marina
Rose/bee = Zinnia
Adrien/butterfly/snake = Papillon/Aspik
And I'll also say this here; that I did draw these fits with what miraculous they'd end up with in the end (though I also kept in the butterfly on Adrien just so you could see what it'd look like for him (he's wearing the brooch on a chain necklace)). I've shown Chloe having the dragon and she'd be getting it the same way she got the bee in canon. But before she ever gets the chance to crash out and reveal her identity to the public, the moment Audrey says Chloe wasn't exceptional, Nathaniel (who had been invited to the show by Marinette as her +1 because they're pretty close friends by this point) goes off on Audrey about how much of a horrible mother and person she has to be for saying something like that. He wouldn't care that she's famous because she has no effect on his life and let's just say, he could kind of relate to Chloe in that moment 🫢. So my plan is that she finds the dragon miraculous but no one finds out, and then a few days later a new dragon hero called Ladoness starts joining in on the fights. Not even Beetle Bug or Catico know who she is and at first they do try to get the dragon miraculous back but after a while of her evading that, they realize that she's genuinely trying to help and be a good hero, so they decide to give her the chance.
And because Loong is kinda meant to be like, the typical wise one of the kwamis (edit: for some reason my brain mixed Loong and Sass as one, Sass is more the mentor-ish kwami but I can still see them having similar personalities as close friends), he kinda becomes like Chloe's "Uncle Iroh." It would be a lot of fun banter because of Chloe's selfishness but because he is a cosmic entity, he's the only one she felt like she couldn't exactly say no to without repercussions. Yeah, he never told her that the holder could control kwamis. 1) To be safe, and 2) If she's gonna keep evading giving the miraculous back to its rightful guardian then he's gonna take charge to at least try and make her a better person while he's here.
Now I'm explaining this because she's not exactly wearing the dragon miraculous here. Luka would originally only have the silver diamond shaped necklace before getting the fox, who's disguised form is the boat anchor necklace. And I'm sure you're not blind, noticing that she has the rabbit miraculous on her design sheet. Because my plan is for her identity to eventually be revealed unwillingly, to which she would have to give up the dragon. Symbolizing how she no longer needs one to feel more important now that she's finally made new friends in the art club. Though it is still sad because despite their troubles, she and Loong did grow to care for one another. In the same vein of a responsible older sibling taking care of their troublemaking younger sibling. Think Lilo and Nani from Lilo & Stitch.

Their couple color scheme? Similar clothing colors and opposite hair. Hair: purple vs yellow, easy. Clothing: purple & pink being next to each other on the color wheel. Sharing some light pink while that pink on Juleka is also near white to be compared to the white on Rose's top. Sharing dark/black leggings & shoes. Also giving their tops the opposite design for who you'd expect to be wearing them. To showcase their connection but I also think it better showcases themselves as characters. Because while Juleka is very goth and into the dark and spooky, she also very kind and shy. Meanwhile we know that Rose is sickeningly sweet but she's also into hard rock and heavy metal. I totally see her as being the type of person who you'd never expect to like horror films, but it turns out that she actually loves them. Because they can be a source of releasing pent up stress and anger.
I'mma make a canonical reason for Juleka having red eyes being that she has ocular albinism, which from what I know, can have a side effect of being sensitive to light. Hence how she got into the dark and creepy. Just wanting to be inside or in the dark because of her eye sensitivity. Vampires + other supernatural creatures often being depicted with red eyes in movies/stories, which made her feel a little more seen as a child who had no one else that shared this unique trait of her's. So despite being made fun of for her red eyes as a kid, she's always emulated the aesthetic of vampires as a way to kinda embrace it. Encouraged by her mother. Who taught her that bullies aim to make you feel bad about what makes you special and if you take pride in it, then those bullies can't win.
Juleka still has some sense of self diffidence about her eyes because of the bullying and no one else in her real life not having it, but she never lets it show.
As for Rose's story, she was still sick at some point like in canon. But I'm specifying it so that it was a massive tumor she had in her head. One so big that when it was finally removed, it left a massive empty space in her head and that is what causes her headaches. Her head muscles pulsating because there's not supposed to be a pocket space there. She is perfectly fine but because Juleka looked up on tumors to be safe (if you still have pains after a tumor removal, it might mean that it's grown back) she now has a constant fear about it. And yes, having an empty space in your head and still being perfectly functional is possible. I've seen situations where the brain was even worse but the person was fine and I even went over this idea with my mom who works at a hospital. The human body is fucking insane.
Though this is how Juleka and Rose actually met. The year prior, Juleka was repeating she was assigned next to Rose in class to help her with class work (because she was having memory/learning troubles during treatments and after the surgery) for extra grade points. And befriending Juleka is how she was introduced to the horror genre as well. It's... weirdly what helped manage to emotionally get her through the stress of having surgery. The logic would probably be something along the lines of, "nothing like what that slasher or werewolf did would ever happen in the operating room." To us that's very weird logic but to a child/preteen, that makes sense, ya know? When Rose is older and looks back on it, even she's confused about that logic.
And just to leave off to the next couple, with their pair coloring rule on their superhero forms: While the deep green of Juleka's turtle suit is kind of a stretch to match with Rose's bright yellow, they still share black, and Juleka's suit also sports plenty of light green, light yellow and orange accents. And the opposing hair? Rose's is yellow with black bits and Juleka's is black with yellow bits.

I'll be deadass that I basically just straight up yoinked this outfit for Marinette from Zoe-oneesama's Scarlet Lady au Bubbler ep. That being said, I did change it up a little, like the dots on her dress top not being messy splotches rather than a polkadot pattern. Adding a little pink stitching to the vest, and including the flower pattern that Marinette has on her canon shirt onto her new shirt AND on her shoes. I also changed the necklace to make the heart pendant smaller, but then the fit felt too bottom heavy so I tried to even it out a little by putting pearls on the chain that got bigger the further back they went on her neck.
Now you already know their colors are inverted and where so I don't need to explain that. Though I will say that instead of Mari's hair being canonically black, just looking blue to the audience because it's easier to animate, in my au Marinette straight up just dies her hair blue. Everyone else that had the blue hair effect like Marc, Sabine, Kagami, etc, their hair will be just straight up black (with a blue sheen for Marc just bc). Marinette dying her hair will be similar to Marc's clothing switch; she's her scaredy cat self in the origins episodes, but then she sees how scared Beetle Bug also is on TV before he fights through the fear and it inspires her to do the same. The next day her hair is dyed and she finally takes her first stand against Chloe. Though you may have noticed her eyes are brown. Straight up, I just think she looks cuter with the dark eyes.
And as you can see above, she'll be getting the pig miraculous. 1) Because the colors I'll use are the perfect inverted colors of my Aspik design for Adrien (ironically I had picked the pig before I realized this) and 2) Part of Marinette's character in this au is that she helps brighten up Marc's school life, doing everything she can to try and help him make friends in spite of his anxiety. Her super name is Primrose.
And you know what? I'll put this here just for clarification that the whole Kim at the Pool incident does not exist in this au. It was a spiteful attempt to further assassinate Chloe's arc, make you feel bad for Marinette, justify her stalking, and it ruined Kim in the process. Meanwhile I had been planning out this au for a long time – back just before season 4 ended – I had already planned for a scenario similar to the Kim/Pool incident to be something that happened to Marc in the past. So no, this is not me taking Marinette's development and giving it to Marc or anything. This was me deleting it from Marinette bc it makes no sense for her and then my own idea I made before certain episodes had been released happened to match up in show later. It happens all the time within fanworks.
So the pig's powers will stay the same, as it represents Mari's role in Marc's life now and because it does essentially trap opponents in a trance. So it's perfect for distractions.
And I already gave a summed up rundown of Adrien's plot in the pt. 2 post. But what I will say while I'm on the topic, is that the canon plot that is going on about keeping the truth about Gabriel a secret from Adrien; I'm just gonna kinda slide that over to Nathaniel's mom...
...
...
Don't look at me like that.
Yes, unlike the bully/pool plot thread going to Marc because of coincidence, this is literally me just recycling Adrien's plot for Nathaniel. Because in this au Adrien starts off having already found out that he's a sentibeing and having his villain era, so there was really nothing else to take from the canon show for Adrien's plot here. He's still very present mind you, he'll have his own redemption as well, but it's nothing from the canon.
Listen, the plot going on in canon season 6 right now can genuinely be super interesting. It's just with the way this show built up to it, I can't bring myself to be invested. Not to mention I had already written my au to make it so that Gabriel never uses the butterfly miraculous, therefore he never goes batshit crazy and genuinely tries to be a better father for Adrien after he sees what Adrien was willing to do because he emotionally neglected him. I had done this because in early seasons, we had seen hints to the idea of Gabriel actually caring for Adrien only for that to be retconned until the very end when he died and finally seemed to care... I think. (This man's definition of love makes no fucking sense y'all).
However in my rewrite, I was already making Nate's mom a piece of shit with no redeeming qualities and I was just gonna leave it at that honestly. Because sometimes abusive-parent situations just aren't solved and people can do nothing but try to move on afterwards. But recently I was thinking over the au and what I may need to edit/change and I suddenly just had the thought of like... Maybe I could make it work. Because I like to challenge myself in my rewrites by trying to recycle everything. Nate's mom wouldn't manage to make the wish, fuck that noise 'cause she'd trade Nate for her husband without hesitation. But the idea of Nathaniel's mom being a villain and defeated (she had to be killed to be stopped) but then Marc – who has already been also dealing with a ton of other stresses I won't bring up here – doesn't know how to break it to Nate that he killed his mom and doesn't know how horrible of a parent she was. So he lies that she sacrificed herself to stop the big bad. Which would do nothing but shatter Nate's brain because "wtf do you mean? Since WHEN would she care?!!"
Just that tension you'd feel. The weight of the lie hovering while Nathaniel starts reimagining his mom in a better light for her sacrifice, only to eventually find out he had been bamboozled? It would be like losing another parent all over again for him as well as another betrayal. This time from his mother as well as his partner. Bro would full on. Crash. Out. Deservedly so. Low-key that would straight up break Nate's psyche, 'cause he already heavily blames himself for his dad's death. This plot just makes more sense here than what canon has offered this far imo.
That situation really is juicy as hell and as a writer/artist, I know that you need to make the most compelling story beats connected to your main character(s). Which in this au, is Marc and Nathaniel.
But idk, let me know what you think on this idea, I could just completely drop it for what I was doing before if y'all feel like it's too much recycling between characters. I would genuinely love the feedback, I'm always second questioning myself with these things.
Exhale 💨
Well on to our last design I GUESS 😅🤣
Tumblr media
And Alix being the easiest to make color-wise because she's not being paired with anyone. Go my Aro Queen 😚 Her look might just be my favorite out of the bunch, she just looks badass. I did get the fit design from THIS Pinterest pic but the colors are all my choosing. I usually use a mix of Pinterest and Gacha life 2 for the character designing process. Which, funnily enough, when making the fit on gacha I had used a few different things to make the shoes sport all the colors in a way to connect the color pallet across the board. Only to realize like a week ago that I basically just straight up gave her her canon shoes 🥲 I mean if it works, it works and it helped me in designing the front of her hat to match. I like to think her shoes and hat are merch of a popular roller derby team and then she just switched out the black laces for pink. I can then imagine her recycling one of the black laces to use as her hair tie as well, she would totally do that.
And yes the backpack is just an Arcane/Jinx backpack recolored and drawn over, I just did not have the energy to trace and re-color in the backpack myself like I did for the others. Maybe later, I'll edit this post. But I do see Alix as being one to draw/color/spray paint all over backpack for fun.
In terms of her backstory, she is raised in a family of historians/egyptologists but she never gained the same love for it that her parents and brother did. Instead she was always more active and wanted to watch the sports channel more than the history channel. So because her family doesn't know how to further connect with her, they just kinda leave her to her own devices. They're not neglectful by any means, in fact her dad feels awful about how he can't really connect with her interests. But they all, Alix included, decided that they're fine just kind of doing their own things during most days and then just having dinner to talk about how each other's day went before bed. Staying connected in their own way while not annoying each other by trying to force a closer connection. Though Alix does go out of her way to stick to the louvre when she has nothing else to do or is doing homework, so she can read over the paintings and scriptures while skating around, so she can at least keep up with what her family talks about during dinner. (She and fam live right next to the louvre bc her dad is also curator.) Though even with them all understanding, that doesn't stop her teenage emotions from feeling just a little resentful about being stuck in a family where none of them understand her.
That being said, Alix is Nathaniel's childhood friend. Having met at the louvre when Nate went with his dad to see the pretty art. Always having his back and trying to get him to socialize again after his father's death. Making sure to cover for him whenever he "disappears."
To which I'll finally say this here to leave this post off with; that I do plan on changing up the whole "secret identity rules." Because Beetle Bug and Catico have no idea where their miraculous came from or anything, they had just decided to keep their ID's a secret from each other as well just to be safe until they learn more. (Note: my Master Fu is gonna be more competent but would've expected them to share their ID's. When he finds out, he decides that as long as they still have total trust in each other, it probably is the safer option for now.) Within the first or second season, the pressure of being a superhero on top of meeting new people would definitely get to Marc eventually and he would break the secret to Luka. Some time after (1-3 eps later) he talks to Catico about how he's revealed his ID but it was to his closest friend during a low moment. Talking it out, they decide to still keep it a secret from each other, but they're both allowed to intrust their identity to 1 in their civilian life. To make things fair and for better support outside the mask.
Hence Luka would know Beetle Bug's ID and Alix would know Catico's.
Now knowing Nate is a super hero, she ain't gonna lighten up into terms of athletic training. She used to go easy on him when they'd play wrestle and such growing up, because he was never as strong or active... Not anymore. He needs to stay vigilant for any scenario, she's going all in from now on because he needs it and it's funny when he fumbles. She'd be a lot like Toph with Aang in ATLA, Alix be a real G out here 😂
And that's pretty much it for now. Let me know what y'all think, I love comments 🥳 @634783

I have been made aware of the Shrek 5 teaser trailer 😬
I wouldn't have minded design changes if it hadn't been a complete art style change like this. Puss in Boots and the Last Wish came out just a few years ago and you couldn't have stuck with THAT style!
False advertising much.
But the worst atrocity is Felicia. Apparently they had the designers from Trolls on this team because what tf is this design? What are her ears doing? They didn't even bother to make sure she had the same eye color. Unless one of the boys is now trans and this is Fergus or Farkle. But I doubt that.
Anyway, just to be petty, I decided to edit a pic to mainly fix her proportions.
Edit: I have realized I should make a with and without my personal changes. I had made my initial first edit like, the day after the teaser trailer dropped so my tension was high and I let myself change a little too much. Green lipstick is a general ick for me and my I do actually like a good nose ring in a design as much as the next guy, it just doesn't feel like it fits within the Shrek universe considering that the only piercings we've seen, even on pirates, were only earrings. And it's like it's a part of ogre culture or something (like I've seen a few people try to suggest) because we meet A LOT of ogres in Shrek 4 and NONE of them had piercings aside from the Chef with an earring.
So I went back and undid all the unnecessary design changes so to better showcase that my main problem is the proportions.

Eh, relatively the same. Adrien takes the butterfly miraculous before Gabriel gets the chance to be Hawkmoth, so he inadvertently avoided becoming the crazy psycho the writers accidentally wrote him to be.
I'm writing for season 3 to be the end of Adrien's butterfly era. Spoilers I guess but he'd succeed in wishing his mom back (the wish does not destroy the world/rewrite all of reality to come true because huh? dramatic much?) and as he's slowly fading out of existence, Emily would cradle him while basically giving him the emotional speech she recorded in canon; telling him that she had only ever wanted him to to be happy and live his life. Which gives Adrien the closure he needs and then she uses Gimmi to undo his wish so he'll live and she dies again.
Gabriel would be there to see all of this, which helps him see the error of his ways and he goes on to try and be a better father from then on. Along with finally starting a relationship with Natalie somewhere around the end of season 4 because Emily giving that speech also finally gave him closure as well.
I have no memory of whether or not they made Gabriel born from wealth or not in canon so I'm just having it so he's not. Both he and Audrey Bourgeois grew their fame from the ground up as, like, college abroad fashion friends (because I made Audrey originally from America).
What all do you like about Miraculous Ladybug?
I thought it was fun/funny and the concept of magical jewelry that give it's wielder a power based on an animal is super interesting. And most of the miraculous box being based on the Chinese zodiac was a really cool touch.
Miraculous had A LOT of really cool ideas that it eventually floundered in the end. As sad as it is, season 4 broke my trust and I'm just kinda keeping up with the show through a window at this point while only really watching the specials.
It's because of how much I used to absolutely love this show and am still interested in its ideas that I'm really passionate about this Art Club AU I'm making.

I doubt it was their idea in all honesty. They probably had yet to come up with a reason for Gabriel & Emily having the peacock miraculous but also keep them as being sympathetic people. But then viewers were starting to get the idea of her having used the peacock in the past might insinuate she wasn't actually a good person, so the team scrambling to come up with an excuse as soon as possible. And the theory of Adrien being a sentimonster was already floating around the internet so they just took it for themselves without putting much thought into it.
This ties back into what I said about them having really cool ideas that they floundered. They had not fully defined the miraculous powers when going in, so there's a lot of inconsistencies. Like how tf did the peacock miraculous get cracked or how Alix's watch break when only the black cat miraculous can break the jewels? (Thinking about it now, how tf did Gabriel disintegrate them to turn them into rings?! God damnit!!!) They didn't think to make the jewels indestructable until they were trying to make Chat Noir feel more needed in the hero dynamic. Because let's be real, he was never actually planned to be a main character and people were rightfully complaining about that.
Not to mention Adrien being senti brings up the whole debate on his humanity and what gives one the right to create living creatures. Which it would honestly probably be safer to not bring that topic up in a kids show but it's not impossible to and as far as I'm aware (again I did not fully watch season 5) barely even mention it in a few episodes at most. Which makes it feel even worse somehow. They didn't plan any of this out, they were just writing on the fly.
But even just as writers who like to write in as much drama as you can, you choose to ignore the gold mine of angst that was Adrien questioning his humanity? It's because he's just a love interest for Marinette, isn't it? His feelings aren't as important?😒
There shouldn't be a miraculous that can create sentient life to begin with. That feels more like something from Gimmi itself.
I do think the idea of Adrien being made by the peacock could work if it was better thought out. Kinda selling my AU right now, but I'm making it so sentimonsters are NOT sentiant. They're like plants or robots. But Gabriel and Emily used the butterfly miraculous to power up the peacock to create a human baby. Also adding lore in the idea that the jewels were only made to hold a single kwami's power, so akumatizing it is adding some of the butterfly power and thus it overloaded. So that's why it managed to crack without a cataclysm.
I'm doing what I'm doing with Adrien's character because I truly believe that there is SO much potential with him that's just never touched on in show, and it would be a shame+waste to not touch on it myself.
(Sorry, I tend to turn everything I talk about into a mini essay😅)

There's a thought that I've had for a few years now: The Rotg art book states that the nightmares eyes are gold because the dreams they were made from are still there within the corruption Pitch put upon them. Essentially foreshadowing that the good magic is still there, buried within the dark magic. Thus they can be reverted back into dreams by the end of the movie.
But here's the thing...
Tumblr media
Pitch's design is the exact same way. His entire being is all blacks and gray, except for his golden eyes. Does anyone else think it's possible that that was meant to also be foreshadowing? Matching the nightmares he makes?
Rotg was originally planned to be a trilogy before it failed in the box office, and if his backstory is anything like it is in the GoC books; is it possible that they may had been planning to reveal his backstory in a future instalment? His golden eyes could've been foreshadowing the idea that he'd been corrupted/possessed as well and that the true him is still in there. That the Guardians could bring him back into the light.
After all, in the GoC books, as much as they say that it's impossible to save Kozmotis Pitchiner, there are plenty of moments that showcase that he is still in there as well. Even just Pitch trying to turn baby MiM or Katherine into a nightmare prince(ess) in an attempt to replace Koz's daughter. GoC is far from being the same universe as Rotg but they were made from the same source to be essentially the same story. Like how the Rotg art book also says how Bunny's Warren was designed with the intent to look like there used to be a civilization there but they've long since disappeared. Meaning Bunny is still the last of his kind in Rotg like he is in GoC.
This really makes me think that a sequel was going to be about the Guardians needing Pitch to stop the next bad guy and befriending/saving him in the process. Especially since fear isn't inherently a bad thing, Pitch was just going too far in revenge and making the world go depressed. And it's not like the Guardians were trying to stop fear all together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They didn't denounce the fact that fear will always be around, they're combatting fear enough so that no one has to live in it.
This bit in the final scene of the movie always felt almost like they might have been setting up for the next movie specifically being about how fear is a part of human instincts and life. It helps to keep one alive, but too much fear can cause someone to stop living their life as well. Pitch could've become the Guardian of Safety, an embodiment of the very thing the Guardians fight for. He'd still have shadow/fear powers, but using them to help caution the reckless kids while pulling back the fear to help the overly frightened ones.

Miraculous Art Club AU pt.2
Tumblr media
@634783 You ask, I deliver (me taking the first chance I can to share more 😅)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like I said in the original post, I plan to make a youtube video on this au AND it's a bit of a rewrite, where I'll explain further. So to just summarize Adrian here; it's an au where he found the safe behind his mom's portrait before school started, where it holds a journal that held all the plans and info about everything behind Adrien and Felix's creations. So Adrien learns everything and decides to try obtaining the wish to sacrifice himself in place of his mom, "since I wasn't supposed to exist anyway" he thinks (the angst).
The season 3 finale would be when everything comes to light but Nathaniel and Marc decide to not turn him in (give him a second chance if you will) because they understand that he's a grieving teenager. Plus Adrien is not nearly as bad as Gabriel with the butterfly miraculous. He did try his best to avert his villains from really hurting many people, though damage was caused nontheless.
Again, that's just the abbreviated explanation.
This finale also has them lose the butterfly miraculous to which it's picked up by Lila. (Note: I've been trying to avoid season 6 spoilers so I have no idea if a canon design has come out for Lila yet, I do not care if it did anyway, this in my au damnit.)
Chloe redemption true au, and then Zoé will be season 4/5 Chloe and be COMPLETELY redesigned 'cause fuck it. Zoé in canon has nothing going for her and was conceived as a spiteful attempt to replace Queen Bee, so in this au I'm gonna make her a representation of what Chloe used to be to showcase how far Chloe has come🖕😂
And I haven't done any other characters yet so I included black cat!Marc for the kwami swap episode and mouse!Nathaniel for the Kwamibuster episode. I was hoping to make all their civilian redesigns first, then I think I'mma make Marinette next.

Miraculous Art Club AU
What if the art kids where the main characters? (Marcaniel main ship)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An au idea I've had for a long time now that I'll make a YouTube video on eventually. Where I go deeper into explaining back stories and families I've made for all the characters.
I know Luka's technically not part of the art club in canon from what memory serves, but in this AU (which is also a little bit of a rewrite) Marc and Luka are childhood friends.
I've made a lot more pieces than these, including most of their "grown up" forms, because I like the idea of their fits only changing once and when they reach adulthood age rather than multiple times almost at random like for Marinette in canon.
I also went ALL OUT in changing + building more of the magical jewels' powers & lore, and I think I burnt a few braincells to do so 😅
Edit: I made Nathaniel's hair darker.

Crack Idea
Tumblr media
Imagine if like, post Arcane, Jayce and Viktor went off to be space husbands in the cosmos or landed in another reality (doesn't matter which) and ended up being able to have a kid because of remnants of the hexcore still within Viktor or something. And that's also how Miguel had the technology to travel between universes, because his parents already did/do.
Their last moments on screen even had them in the same colors as Migual's spider suit

I had my own thoughts but I had so many it came out too long. So I just made a separate post for it 😅
I don't think Jack knew the tooth fairy, santa, bunny and sandy were in a club together before the beginning of the movie. obviously they were all big names but like he has to be introduced to the concept of them as a group

Rotg world building — Thoughts and theories
This was originally just going to be a reblog to THIS post but then I ended up going down a rabbit hole of my thoughts and opinions, so it became too annoyingly long for peoples/my preference.
Most of the post really expresses how I've always viewed the world of spirits in Rotg. The only thoughts I'm not really a fan of is the idea of some spirits not having physical forms and just being like big storms. Because what's the point of humanoid spirits being invisible to humans if they have no physical forms to other spirits as well?
I never saw Jack talking to the wind as the wind being an active spirit, I saw it as him just being so lonely he'd pretend the wind was alive to not feel so alone. After all, he only addressed the wind 1 time, if it were an actual being I feel like it'd be addressed more than once. Especially when Jack needed to get out of Antarctica: why would he need to fix his staff to fly out if the wind could've just picked him up, unless he was the one making the wind? And like the post linked above said, the comics are unofficial. They're cool and I love them but they're not canon.
I do love the idea of their being 2 generations of spirits. Pre-MiM and post-MiM where the legends of Gods and myths are tales of the original spirits mistaken for higher deities and distorted over time. After all MiM wasn't always there (at least in the books) so how were their seasons/seasonal spirits on earth before him unless they were just natural to earth?
Plus it's made apparent through Sandy's death in Rotg that spirits are not 100% immortal, just non-aging. I think there is an open window for spirits to come back like Sandy did, if an influx of enough people believe, Tinkerbell style. But after maybe a year or so, that window is closed, that spirit is full on dead and that spirit needs to be replaced to keep the world in balance. So there could've been hundreds of spirits that have been lost but then replaced by MiM. I also think only magic can kill spirits, since Jack managed to fall from like 300+ feet in the final battle and walk it off without so much as a limp. Like, it still hurt, he clearly felt the pain, but he could still run, jump, throw hands and everything. He only groaned like he tripped down a small set of stairs.
Guardians are the only ones who could die without belief due to the vow they take. I feel like that vow tying their lives to belief could've actively been like an insurance policy to insure that the Guardians stay true and keep doing their jobs to fulfill childhood. It may be controlling and borderline manipulative for MiM to make them do that but I'm sure we're all in agreement that he is pretty gray as a character in the movie when you really think about it. And I could even see where he's coming from with this idea. After all, who knows how many spirits he may have made thinking they were good people, only for them to go dark and become evil. I'm sure MiM would hold a lot of guilt whenever those bad spirits hurt others or even feel at fault for making these decent people, eventual villains. Besides the Guardians know they could die if they lose belief when they make the vow, so it's not like MiM tricked them, that's consented. The Guardians just forgot to tell Jack that.
Now, I always saw "Spirit Society" as all spirits know of each other and word always gets around when new ones are made. I don't think there's a hidden city or village (other than maybe Santoff Clausen if it's even still around. And only for some of them, it wouldn't be big enough for all spirits in my mind) but rather they make homes for themselves and just cross paths with each other all the time. Kinda like the countryside; everyone's homes are far apart, but you still see each other in stores or at work.
I'm not quite sure how the news and knowledge would spread between spirits so often unless they were either all huge gossips or had yearly meets or something. But you know what, I'd be willing to bet that there are a few "messenger" spirits similar to Hermes in Greek myth, that just fly everywhere, spreading word for other spirits to make sure everyone is in the loop.
In my mind, Bunny's aggression early in the movie was meant to kinda show how most spirits saw Jack. After all, he's the only one who didn't feel like he'd be super recluse due to his job as he's the only one who doesn't work all year-round.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unless he's a complete hermit, what is he doing for the rest of the year other than going out and hanging with other spirits?
I think most spirits hate Jack for being a troublemaking spirit that honed the deadliest season. That could just be my angst fanfic brain making things up but why else would Jack be so desperate to look towards humans to connect with unless he has tried with other spirits who could see him and was only met with backlash?
'Cause I have seen a few people complain that the ending of the movie contradicted Jack's arc of wanting to be seen only to leave the few believers he'd finally made. But that was never the point. He has what I like to call a fake-out arc; where it's said he wants one thing but his actual goal is different. He asks why he can't be seen, he tries his best to get people to believe in him, but he's doing it in an effort to find a family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He mentions how no one can see him but he's more devastated over why he was left alone. That's his main question in this scene. He doesn't outwardly ask why he's alone specifically, but asking MiM "why" just after he was looking so longingly at Jamie's family is clearly meant to insinuate that that is what he really wants. He may even be telling himself it's just to be seen because he's been alone for so long that he just wants the bare fucking minimum. That's why the end of Rotg is still satisfying despite leaving his new believers, because being seen was never truly the end goal, it was finding a family and he finally found that in the other Guardians.
He clearly believed that he couldn't be accepted by other spirits, so he looked to humans to find that connection and getting to be seen by them was just a first step towards that goal.
It's the same thing in Tangled (because I have encountered someone who thought Rapunzel was one-dimensional for just wanting to see lights 😮‍💨) Rapunzel sang and always told Gothel + Eugene that she just wanted to see the floating lights, but the moment she steps out of her tower she starts singing in exhilaration about how she can finally go running, dancing, jumping and splashing. She never even mentions the lights. It had nothing to really do with the lights, she just wanted to leave her tower and explore the world. Seeing the lanterns was just her externalized and internalized excuse because she wanted to feel less awful for going against her 'mother'. Her wanting to explore the world was then more blatantly explored in Tangled the Series.
Edit: Pitch even straight up mentions about longing for a family when trying to sympathize with Jack and it's that very line that makes Jack lower is guard. Not the line about not being believed in, longing for a family. Jack even looks super sympathetic for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Pitch killed Sandy, after witnessing first hand the belief fading from all the kids around the world and being framed for Easter's failure, possibly ruining Jack's relationship with the Guardians, Jack still feels bad for Pitch in this moment. That's why Jack lets Pitch say his piece in this scene despite knowing that he was never going to join him (you can tell he was never buying into Pitch's words and Jack didn't hesitate to refuse). He was even willing to try and just walk away after refusing his offer rather than keep fighting. Because he understands that desperation of wanting to be loved by just being seen and/or heard.
That's part of what makes him such a good layered character: the fact that he always used mischief in an effort to try and be seen, similar to when kids act out to get their parents attention. It leads the other spirits to think that he's nothing more than a troublemaker (and even audience as well, the amount of mis-characterization I've seen people make of Jack, istg) when in reality he's actually a very respectful, emotional, sweet and even responsible person that does know when to stop being silly. Jack never played around when actual danger came around, the only time he did was a single quip to Sandy because he was nervous and in the final battle when he realized being funny takes away Pitch's control.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And even then it was brief, after the kids started turning the sand gold again, Jack went right back into serious battle mode.
Kinda shows how not really mischievous Jack truly is when it takes him so long to realize that being fun can weaken Pitch. Because he's not really a trickster, he doesn't even really pull any pranks, he's just playful. But he had been cranking that up to 11 for the past 300 years in an effort to be seen, he inadvertently kept deterring other spirits away, who may had already not liked him just for being an ice based spirit. After all, whenever Bunny wanted to take a stab at Jack it was either at his invisibility or for his ice. Granted that could just be because Bunny himself just doesn't like the cold or even strictly because Jack made that blizzard on Easter but then again, we never got to see that for ourselves. We don't know if Jack even did that on purpose or not.
Last note; I don't think any other spirits died to become spirits like Jack did. It's my personal headcanon that the reason Jack couldn't remember his past is because he's the only one who had actively died before MiM got the chance to turn him. Though for all we know there could be a few others who also forgot their pasts. If there are, Jack clearly never got the chance to ask.
The way this kinda diverged into a mini Jack Frost character analysis though 😅

Just to add my thoughts on the "his family are oddballs" idea; we see in the flashback that the lake Jack had drowned in was right in their front or backyard. But if you remember in the beginning of the movie when Jack awakens, you can see that the settlement is quite a ways away from the lake.
Considering people of the time were very negative towards things/people that tended to be different from the norm, if they weren't farmers then this would insinuate that Jack's family moved to live away from others so they could be themselves without constantly being scrutinized. Either that, or they had been kicked out for being different.

What fairytales make up the Schnee family? (Theory/Thoughts)
Tumblr media
I'm bored and can't mentally finish any of my other projects right now, so I think talking about something less complicated would be a nice way to try and loosen the mental gate that's refusing to open right now.
Now it's strange that most of Weiss's family don't have fairytale origins when everyone else's families do. Even throwaway characters you see one time will have a fable origin. So I've taken the time to actually come up with 2 groups theories for what I think the Schnee family's fairytale equivalents could be. I believe it's basically been confirmed that their grandfather was Santa, I know that. And I do understand that it's apparently been confirmed that Jacques is meant to be Jack Frost, but considering his character hasn't done anything directly connecting him with that character yet, along with how I think RT is willing to retcon origins (Oscar seemed to be based on Dorothy but then retconed to be Tip from the Oz book (not confirmed, just speculation)), I'm not really a big fan of Jacques being Jack Frost and I don't see why we can't just change his fairytale.
Theory group #1: Winter characters
Jacques = Krampas
I think instead of Jacques being based on a character that's usually categorized as just pretty mischievous, have him based on a fable that's actually more outwardly evil. Granted there are different takes on the Krampus tale, including him and Santa actually being in cahoots, Santa rewording good children and Krampus punishing bad children. It's been a while since I really watched RWBY or the Remnants series, but I do believe Nicholas Schnee and Jacques were work partners for a minute before Nicholas died. As well as the connection of Jacques's abuse toward his kids and Krampus being known for beating children.
Willow = Jack Frost
While I did say Jack Frost is mostly just known for being mischievous, he is a pretty flexible myth, given that no one truly knows the origins of it. He's portrayed as evil sometimes, sure, but the actual myth itself is just an obscure being who spreads frost during the fall season to let humans know winter is coming. Willow was also an obscure character for the long time she was never on screen, and you could see this 'spreading frost' aspect as an allegory for Willow giving Weiss the security footage to warn her that danger is coming (ba-dum-cshhhh). Not to mention it is theorized that the Jack Frost myth originates from the Norse deity of winter, Jokul Frosti. Who is also known as old man winter, which is also another title that's associated with Santa Claus himself. Further connecting Willow to her dad. And it would mean Willow is the third person connected to the Schnee's who is based on Norse myth (Nora being Weiss's friend and Fria being based on Freya). Maybe Willow used to be much more mischievous and playful as a kid/teen before Jacques came along; as a way to really allude to her being Jack Frost as well as show just how far she's fallen from grace.
Winter = the Snow Queen
Pretty sure most people have theorized this and it just makes the most sense. Especially now that she's the winter maiden and actively has snow/ice powers (yes all the maidens control in the elements in RWBY, but Winter and Fria clearly favor snow). It would be cool if this meant that Weiss and Whitley doubled as the two main kids, Gerta and Kay, from the Snow Queen tale. Which could also make sense because Kay was a nice boy before a piece of the queen's cursed mirror got lodged into his heart and turned him cruel. Only for Gerta to come back and heal his heart. Winter having left the Schnee manor (leading Weiss to do the same) and leave Whitley behind, would definitely be that glass shard here; as it is most likely the first step into how Whitley became as jaded as he was. And as much as Whitley's 'redemption arc' was not done well, Weiss being the cause of him becoming better was what the writers were aiming for.
Whitley = Rudolph the red nosed Reindeer
Look I'm not very well-versed in old or not-well-known fairytales, and considering their grandfather being Santa, there is some connection here 🤣🤣🤣 And yeah, Rudolph is a more modern tale... but team FNKI are literally based on memes. I could also just keep the idea of him being Kay from the Snow Queen but I like thinking too much and Weiss already doubles with Snow White + Gerta so I'm doubling him too.
Hear me out: a young boy who is isolated for being different, not allowed to join the other kids because of this difference, only to use his uniqueness and skills to help save the day. We don't really know how Jacques treated each of his kids when they were younger, but Whitley was left behind by his sisters and he had no way of joining them in their reindeer games because he had no semblance. Only for Whitley to come around, saving the day by sending Schnee airships to save civilians when the grimm were attacking. They could even take it a step further if there ever is a volume 10. Have it start where volume 8 left off; with Winter killing grimm in the sandstorm. Have this intense life or death situation be what causes Whitley to finally unlock his semblance. And the reason he couldn't before was because his semblance is not the Schnee glyphs. Thus him protecting people in this sandstorm with energy shields that look like bubbles of bright red light. Harkening to how Rudolph led his way through the snowstorm with his red nose. This all may kinda sound ridiculous but I think it's fun.
Theory Group #2: Snow White characters
Family members in RWBY don't have a trend of being connected fairytale-wise as well. After all, Ruby and Yang themselves are based on Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks, tales that have basically nothing connecting them. And from what I understand, Blake's parents are Jungle Book characters, despite her and Adam being Beauty and the Beast. So it's not like Weiss's family needs to be Snow White characters. However, if their fairytales are not my first pics as above, I think it would be really cool if they were. And we've already seen their butler, Klein, fall into the category of being the seven dwarves to compliment Weiss as Snow White. I clearly don't have nearly as much to say or explain here so let's just get through them.
Jacques = Evil Queen
Just makes more sense as the villainess parent who keeps trying to stop his daughter from being happy.
Willow = Poison apple
Considering she wasn't seen for the longest time, it's easy for an off screen character to just be a reference to something rather than a character (I.e. Summer Rose being based on a poem). And even now that she's had screen time, her main character trait is that she poisons herself through alcohol.
Winter = The huntsmen
The one who has a profession in huntsmen-ship and ultimately protects Snow White from the Evil Queen.
Whitley = Magic mirror
From what we've seen from Whitley, he's definitely the kid in the family who adapts to who he's surrounded by. He was left alone by his sisters with their father and by proxy, started becoming more like Jacques. Not really because he wanted to be, but as a means of survival. And then in volumes 8/9 he's shown to became more sympathetic and even heroic to an extent (I.e. calling a doctor for Nora, using Schnee resources to help civilians, and he + Willow crushing the grimm). Aka; the more time the "heroes" were around him, the more he became heroic. His character probably wouldn't keep bouncing around like this depending on his companions, but it comes to show that on screen thus far, he's a character who is reflective of the people around him. And it's not to say that he can't just act certain ways to manipulate the villains in the future, in order to keep this reflective aspect of his character. After all, he just acted more like Jacques as a defense mechanism and to become the favorite child. He was only annoying towards Weiss because she and Winter had left him behind, we never got the chance to see what he was like towards anyone else.
These are just my thoughts/theory for now, let me know what you think.
