Jackson!
( ... )
he’s still there in bed where jackson had left him untouched except for the shoes he’d loosened, slipped off, while his glameow watches from the window with sleepy eyes and a yawn as if, in the bustle of jackson cooking and stepping outside to feed whatever pokemon had arrived, he’s the one to look over the man. the cries collect, become a layered stream of sound – spearows caw and an aipom responds while the light of the rising sun rests against them as though it’s still sleeping, waiting.
jackson yawns, slips off his shirt to wipe at his forehead, his cheeks; he, too, waits, but for something else.
Things start of completely black. There are sounds of skittering claws and someone rushing around, but it’s hard to understand when he cant see. His head feels light, but at the same time there’s a notable ringing in his ears. It hurts. There are a few seconds where nothing makes sense. His body moves on it’s own- forcing him upright only for him to feel like everything around him has started spinning. He covers his eyes and lets out a hiss. It hurts a lot more than he wants to admit. Medicine... He needs medicine. Is he in his room? Where’s his bag? Where are his pokemon? He moves one of his hands slowly, and for the first time, he can see again.
This isn’t his room- his bed- none of it. In fact, this place isn’t even vaguely familiar. Minwoo’s eyes take a moment to adjust to the light- brows furrowed and fingers digging into the sheets in hopes of alleviating some of that painful sensation. He lets out a heavy breath. Was he breathing regularly to begin with? He doesn’t really know. It’s a little hard to think. He slowly swings his legs over the side of the bed and stands- footing not great but not enough to make him tumble to the ground. He walks toward to source of the commotion. There’s a glameow, one he’s never seen, but he doesn’t pay it too much attention. It’s cute, if nothing else... Maybe it belongs to the owner of this house.
He places a hand on the doorframe and looks into the other room. There’s a man there along with enough pokemon that Minwoo can’t help but feel just a little shocked. His eyes widen and he clears his throat just a little.
“Uh... Excuse me.” His voice is a little more clear now. The noise isn’t helping his head, but it would be rude to comment. “How... How did I get here? Who are you?”
ready for it

Hive Badge - If you were a Gym Leader, what would you specialize in? What would your Gym look like?
Minwoo’s eyes narrowed just a little at the question. Maybe his mood was particularly bad, but lying didn’t feel easy enough to bother with at the moment. He smiled darkly- keeping the slight feeling of intimation in his glance. No one would hear about this anyway, would they? So what did it matter if Glow had a taste for Pokemon most people didn’t think of being so cute.
“Dark types.” His voice was low. “I’m pretty good at training them, so I think it would go over pretty well. The gym could be set up like an underground rave. When the lights flash to different colors, different colored platforms appear with them. You’d need to turn switches to get all the colors to come on in the order you want. The rest of the time, it would be nice and dark.”

He pauses for just a moment- hand on Popcorn’s head. Is it really right for him to admit the truth here? It certainly would sound a bit odd coming from the Top Coordinator who was supposed to specialize in all things cute. His smile grew just a little wider as he let out a cute laugh. He certainly wouldn’t be openly admitting his dark type choice.
“I think I would go with Fairies!” The lie made him laugh a little louder, but hopefully it wasn’t too suspicious. “I would set up the gym with lots of spot lights. Maybe the people fighting in it could have to walk tight wires or something. I dunno’.”
He continued petting Popcorn slowly now.

Nightmares
@jytaekwoon
Traveling wasn’t uncommon for Minwoo. There were plenty of places that he had business to take care of, and Ulsan happened to one this time around. He had taken care of his work early in the day, settled into a hotel with his Pokemon and quickly fallen asleep. If only he could’ve stayed that way.
The night brought flashes of colors and lights from behind his eyelids that he had no desire to see. They took the forms of people he didn’t know, things he wished he didn’t see. In his dreams he couldn’t breathe or move. His body felt trapped as it had all those years ago and he could only beg in his own mind for it to stop. But it wouldn’t be a real nightmare if anyone could actually help him. If anyone cared enough to save him, he wouldn’t be waking up screaming and clawing at the sheets. His mind reeled as the blood rushed away from it. He grabbed Butcher tightly. The sableye only wrapped its arms around his neck- tired but understanding. This happened often enough. He was used to it- Minwoo never would be.
His breath shook as it came out in uneven pants. It was over, but it didn’t stop the way his head felt. The pain was getting worse by the second, and all he could think about was the sights of the night’s choice of nightmare. Was it a memory? Blurred faces remained burned into his mind, and for all that was happening, he could only think of one thing to do. He needed to talk. He needed to leave this cramped room.
So he grabbed Butcher with perhaps a bit too much force- allowing the Sableye to hang onto his shoulder. He then swept up Pocky, who had been still sleeping despite everything. He returned the other pokemon to their balls, grabbed his bag and left.
The sky felt darker than usual, but perhaps it was that his vision didn’t know how to cooperate with the pain in his head. There was someone he needed to talk to. For a while he walked, but it felt pointless. It wasn’t until he reached his friend’s door that he even realized that he had been walking for so long.
He tapped his knuckles across the door, far louder than intended. Butcher’s gem eyes only glinted in light. It was apparently from the way that he was bristling up that he was concerned for his trainer. But Minwoo didn’t budge until the door opened. He glanced up far slower than normal. At least Taekwoon was awake... Or maybe it was more correct to say he had been woken up. Minwoo let out a nervous breath before speaking up. He probably looked ridiculous- standing outside Taekwoon’s door in only an oversized t-shirt and sweat pants. He didn’t really care at the moment though. He didn’t even really look up as he finally managed to speak.
“Can I come in?”

Feather Badge - What is your favorite childhood memory?
His expression has gone completely cold. His head feels like it could explode, and honestly, he doesn’t want to answer this question. There’s nothing he can say that feels real enough, because he doesn’t have any sort of childhood to speak of. He rings his hands and grits his teeth to try to rid himself of the pain. His headache isn’t going to go away. He’s more than aware of that.
“...How about not having one?” His voice is low as he speaks. “I don’t remember it... I don’t have a childhood. So I guess my favorite memory is the only one I have... Being crushed under a bunch of rocks and wishing that someone would save me... Waking up in a hospital.” He taps his fingers against his leg and sighs.
“I don’t want to sound rude, I just don’t have much I can share... I’m sorry.” He leans down now. His headache is going to keep going until he goes to sleep. He just closes his eyes. If he could have a memory worth talking about, he would. He honestly wishes he did.

Feather Badge - What is your favorite childhood memory?
His expression is slowly growing a little more bitter. More about his childhood. Right, the one that doesn’t exist. Is this intended to be a reminder? He shakes his head and crosses his arms. His headache is getting worse and he’s grasping at straws to try to find some sort of memory that’s worth talking about.
“...I don’t remember much. I guess one of my favorite memories is... Sleeping in a warehouse with my only my Pokemon to keep me warm? Things were going poorly... So I ended up needing to hide out there for a while.” He sighs. His head is really aching as he continues to speak. Why can’t he come up with anything for his childhood? He honestly hates that there’s so little for him to talk about.
“I liked it because it let me grow closer to my Pokemon. It was miserable at the time, but looking back on it I’m very glad.” His voice is growing quieter. He doesn’t really want to think anymore.

Feather Badge - What is your favorite childhood memory?
There’s a pause as he stares. His mind is completely empty and, for a second, he just feels bitter. He doesn’t have any memories of his so called childhood, and trying to come up with one is just making his head hurt. He’ll have to settle for something different. He sighs just a little.
“I think one of my favorites is getting Butcher. He’s always there for me, and I honestly think of him as my best friend.” His head is still hurting. “He was always really tough in my opinion, but some of the people I, er, got him from didn’t think he was the best I could have. I think they were giving him to me because I was low ranked...”
He smiles to himself despite his throbbing head. Butcher is an amazing Pokemon. That’s some sort of memory... right? Hopefully it counts.

Double Trouble
@jysuga,
It’s not everyday that Minwoo finds himself wandering around with two Dendenne in his arms. One of them is, of course, Pocky, his precious little electric mouse. The other, however, is far younger and he has absolutely no clue who it belongs to. The little thing is absolutely distraught, and that fact alone is enough to make Minwoo equally upset. People suffering is one thing, but there’s something about the little mouse feeling so upset that is really throwing his entire groove off.
He has been pacing around looking for the poor thing’s trainer for about two hours already, but there hasn’t been much luck yet. Pocky is doing everything in her power to keep the other Dendenne calm. It’s cute to watch, but Minwoo’s sure it won’t work for too long. Something in him is more bothered by the lost little Pokemon than he should be. Maybe he relates- he’s not sure. He just wishes there was a way he could help more than what he’s already doing. If all else fails, he’ll take the little thing home and try again tomorrow. It is sort of late.
He wanders into a shop quietly- still holding both of the Pokemon. It’s really the last place he plans on looking around. His body feels tired from his panicked search and he honestly wants to just go home and sleep, but he needs to keep up the search just a little longer. He approaches the counter slowly- head starting to hurt from the activity. Why does this always happen at the worst times?
He pinches the bridge of his nose in hopes of some relief. Pocky is crawling over to his shoulder and continuing to reach down to try to wash the smaller Dendenne. She’s honestly behaving far better than Minwoo is even used to. It’s amazing to see her being so sweet instead of trying to steal the nearest shiny object.
“Ah...” His voice is a little hoarse. Maybe it’s just because he hasn’t had anything to eat or drink... Wait, did he seriously forget that? Oh well... He’ll handle it later. He addresses the person at the counter slowly. “Pardon me... Has anyone come by looking for a lost Pokemon today?”

There’s a combination of guilt and relief that hits Minwoo the moment he gets an agreement out of his new found scape-gogoat. If nothing else, maybe most of these girls will bug off and let him enjoy the rest of the party without asking if he’s available. Sure, the way the news would get a hold of this was going to be one hell of a pain, but Minwoo didn’t really have as much time to care about that. No, he was far more concerned with the Now than the future. The now had him acting like he had been dating Day for a while. The now had him smiling still and trying to remember what a person looked like when they were in love.
He doesn’t even flinch when there’s a hand on his thigh. Sure, it seems a bit odd but maybe Day is just as good at acting as he is. He tilts his head to the side and listens for a moment. He definitely picked a good target to avoid suspicion. It’s always good when someone is willing to play along to this extent! Plus, Day is pretty charming on his own... Minwoo lets out a small hum of recognition before giving a quick glance to the fans. Most of them are buying into it, but there’s one in particular who’s skeptical. Unfortunately, she’s the same fan who was asking far too many questions. There’s a nagging in the back of his mind that it had to be her who wasn’t buying into the story, but he’s also sure there’s a way to correct the issue. He slowly drops his arm from around Day’s neck and sighs.
“Well~ To be honest I just couldn’t hide it anymore.” He pouts a little. “I can’t stand just hiding it from everyone! I love you too much for that!” His acting certainly isn’t bad. He could be in a drama with these sorts of lines. He slowly reaches to hold Day’s hand and gives yet another somewhat apologetic smile. The skeptical fan is tapping her foot now- arms crossed. Minwoo wants to frown at her, but knows better. She’s still not buying what he’s selling, which annoys him to no end. What does it take for a guy to get a little time alone with his “date”? ...Which is to say he would like to apologize for all of this as quickly as possible.
“I’d like to have a little alone time with him, if you girls don’t mind?” His voice is still kind, but inside he’s trying to be forceful. A few of the fans seem to agree and leave, but there are still about three who aren’t budging. He frowns internally and leans over to Day- gripping his hand a bit tighter. He’s going to make this work if it kills him. Mochi is sitting on his lap- more amused than she should be.
“Hey... I’m really sorry about this.” He manages to whisper the words quietly enough for the fans to not hear. There’s not even split second allow for the apology to set in before Minwoo turns the others face and kisses him full on the lips. Well, if nothing else, hopefully this was convincing.
For the Tabloids
( ... )
“Uh…” He says, trying to read the hidden message in the other’s eyes. “Yeah!” He agrees, surprisingly. Ugh, he was not looking forward to all the gossip blogs later. He didn’t really know why he was going along, maybe it’s because Minwoo had a nice smile. “I was wondering what took you so long!” He tries to reach for the other’s hand but it’s a bit farther than he realizes and he ends up just patting his thigh, earning another squeal from the fangirl. He can’t help but notice the one in the middle keeps looking at him suspiciously. “We haven’t even announced our status yet, and you’re already having fans take our picture?” He teases, seriously not knowing what to do in this situation, but he smiles anyway. What’s the worst that could happen?

Day 608 - Meecle | メェークル | Skiddo
Meecle’s leaves change color in the winter just like any other tree. Meecle can get nourishment through two means, eating regularly and photosynthesis. Photosynthesis shuts down in the winter, however. They like to charge into tree stumps to strengthen their horns. When you touch a Meecle’s horn, you share memories with it.

Having a member of the elite four actually want to teach him something was honestly a huge shock. Minwoo was used to people offering to help with his Pokemon, but they were usually fans who didn’t know what they were doing. He was used to turning people down with a friendly laugh or just telling them that he had his own secret training schedule, but not Mark. No, when Mark had made the offer, Minwoo had jumped on the chance. It was an advantage just to see the Elite’s Pokemon at all. He could hopefully learn a thing or two that maybe Rocket would like to hear... And maybe he could make a friend.
Who could probably end up telling him things Rocket might ALSO like to hear.
So he smiled brightly as Mark called his name- turning to blink just a little. Mochi was sitting on his shoulders and just leaning on one of her hands. She was most likely looking Mark over, but it was usually hard to tell with Abra. Minwoo reached up to scratch one of her ears before giving a rather excited wave. That Delphox was impressive looking. He really didn’t expect much less from one of the elite four.
“Mark! Hello!” He giggled to himself. “I’m really glad you came out like this for me. I’m so excited to have Mochi learn Pyschic! I think she’ll do a great job!” Despite being a little melodramatic, his voice was smooth and natural. Psychic didn’t seem like a normally cute move, but in the back of his mind Minwoo knew he didn’t care as much if it was. Psychic was a strong move... The TM in his bag had been meant for something, after all... But learning it from an Elite Four member’s pokemon somehow seem so much more... ironic.
► psychic
( ... )
The idea that Mark could possibly have anything to teach him and his Pokemon absolutely baffled him. It didn’t seem possible with Minwoo having such control over his team. But there he was, meeting up with the coordinator to help bolster his Abra’s movepool. Yāohú, Mark’s Delphox, glided along side him, turning her head from time to time to observe her surroundings. He was sure Abra could learn Psychic through a TM, so why was Mark there? Maybe learning it from a Pokemon who could learn it naturally would make Abra a better user? Who even knew. Mark didn’t mind either way. He was content enough just being there.

He was very used to traveling. There were often events that he found himself making the trek too, and this one was no different. Apparently it was a little gathering for a coordinator that Minwoo had only read about in a few books or magazines. Sure, it sounded like a fun enough place, but this sort of thing always drew a good bit of publicity. Publicity meant Glow was going to have to smile and laugh even more than normal, and at the moment, that sounded a bit stressful.
But it didn’t stop Minwoo from going. No, he always knew when he needed to attend such an event and as he arrived with a few other coordinators he braced himself for the screams. There were people calling his stage name and expecting him to respond as though it was the most normal thing in the world. Of course he did. He waved and laughed cutely- throwing up little peaces signs or hearts at anyone who he managed to catch saying his name. His fans seemed to appreciate it. Mochi, on the other hand, was less happy. she kept herself curled around his neck limply and tapped her fingers lazily. She was tired... Not exactly shocking for an Abra.
Minwoo soon found himself suddenly inside the venue of choice- dealing with a rather enthusiastic group of fans. It wasn’t exactly hard to keep up small talk with them, but he did start to notice something... One girl was not letting up with relationship questions. He got them a lot, so it wasn’t hard to try his best to avoid them, but this girl really wouldn’t let it go! Before to long more girls were asking, and he started to become rather concerned. He wasn’t going to be able to just slip out of this, was he?
Judging from the way the girls followed him as he stepped toward the bar, he certainly didn’t stand a chance of escape. He couldn’t help but blush as one of the girls asked if he would be willing to date her. Was this really happening? Didn’t fans know that their idols didn’t date them for a reason? He laughed awkwardly before shaking his head. He really needed to play this as cool as possible. The quicker he could get out of this situation, the better.
“I’m very sorry...” His voice didn’t show his nerves. “But I’m actually already dating someone! In fact, I think... They’re waiting for me, so I should go find them.” He smiled cutely at the lie. This would keep him safe, right? Well, in hindsight it was an idiotic plan. Now the girls were asking with the lucky person was. His eyes just widened. He dug himself an even deeper hole.
He glanced over his shoulder at the bar with the smile still on his face. He need a scapegoat and NOW. There happened to be someone he didn’t mind looking at sitting around, an elite four member, if he remembered correctly. Was it Daehyun? That seemed correct, and at the moment, he didn’t feel like he had a choice. So he took a few steps toward the near stranger enjoying a soda at the bar and put an arm around his neck. He was rather glad for his acting skills at the moment... But hopefully the stranger would get the picture.
“This is him~!” He laughed cutely at the words and gave Daehyun a somewhat apologetic smile. The poor guy really didn’t deserve to be dragged into this. “Hi babe~ I was just telling these girls here how we’re dating now. They were asking me all about my relationships and stuff so I thought it only made sense that I come find you to help explain it to them...”
He really hoped this would work...
For the Tabloids
( ... )
He was grateful that this event was for a retired coordinator, most of the fans out there hardly knew him from the Elite Four and seemed to be screaming for the arrivals of all the famous coordinators from all of South Korea. He made his way to the bar, helping himself to a peach flavored drink as he waited for the event to start, wondering what other interesting events would happen tonight.

Memorize.
He wakes up with a headache and a desire to fall back asleep. There’s something in the way that his mind is twisting and turning that makes him think that something is wrong. Today is supposed to be important, but for some reason No Minwoo doesn’t know why. He never knows why and that drives him to want to scream. He crawls out of bed- stumbling to the bathroom before taking what few pain killers he has left. There aren’t many. Honestly, he never has enough to keep the headaches down. He’s not even sure why he tries.
He walks back to his room in silence. Butcher is the first to wake up, the first to notice that his master is stumbling around like he had too much to drink the night before. But both the Pokemon and his master are well aware that Minwoo didn’t go out drinking. No, Minwoo had gone to bed early- tried to get extra rest for once. Butcher approached slowly- gripping Minwoo’s pajamas as he stared up nervously. Minwoo could only shake his head weakly. The headache was worse than his normal one’s. He sat back on his bed and let the Sableye crawl into his lap. If nothing else, having the little Pokemon was worth some comfort.
What about today was so important? His heart felt heavy and the way in particular it did bothered him. His heart said he should remember- he was an idiot for forgetting in the first place, but he had no way of bringing the memory back. He clicked on his phone and checked the date. Was it a holiday? A day of a particular accident or contest? A friend’s birthday? Nothing was marked on his phone, and that only proved to frustrate him more.
He flopped back on his bed- pulling Butcher with him and noticing that both Coffee and Popcorn had made their way to the bed as well. He slowly patted their heads- alternating so as to try not to give anyone more attention than the others. All three were patient enough. His stomach growled but he ignored it. He didn’t feel like eating until his headache left him alone. For now, maybe he would go back to sleep. It was noon and he could probably use the time to do something else-- but what did it matter? If he left with this pain it would probably just cause him to pass out anyway.
He closed his eyes again. Whatever today was, he wished he could remember why he cared so much. He wished he could find a way to revive all the memories he had lost, if only for a moment, to ease that heavy feeling in his heart and the sharp pain in his head. But he knew he couldn’t. There was no point in even trying. So he would just sleep. Sleep and forget.
