SYNOPSIS .. ?! sharing a shitty apartment with anyone is a pain in itself but with sim jake that was another story, on the most impossible night to sleep, you shamefully knock on your roommates door, asking if there's room for two.

NOTES.. ?! funny story i probably rewrote this like 5 times trying to figure out an actual story line w roommate!jake but it literally still did not work so have this garbage... but if u enjoyed pls share reblog and like hehheehehe <3

You shuffle in your sheets, trying to find a comfortable position on your stale mattress.

Both sides of your allow were warm and your eyes just couldn’t keep closed. Twisting and turning some more didn’t help either. You checked the time, 01:43 AM. You bring a pillow to your face and let out a muffled groan.

Sleeping in your rundown little apartment was tough most nights, especially with the train line right next to your window coupled with the little droplets of rain you could feel from the window on rainy nights like this. But you were the one who chose this room for yourself, the other was perfectly fine, not amazing but anything was better than this room. The question is, why this one? Because you’re a push over and wanted to be a nice person. That’s why.

Joining a new college mid semester was a pain, and no one told you that all the dorms were full, practically leaving you begging for a roommate in some apartment, you didn’t really care how bad it was. (Well, you regret those thoughts a little now…)

There was only one person who was kind enough to offer you a space, he had already rented the apartment under his name and he was even offering you his room, claiming that the other wouldn’t be suitable for you.

While arranging the living situation, you texted Jake back assuring him a thousand times over that you were fine to take the smaller room, you were just grateful for him to have given you a space at all.

It’s true, you meant what you said. Jake was too nice of a person to push him out of his own room when he’d already been kind enough to share rent in the first place. But sharing an apartment with Jake was… more troubling than you thought.

When you first met him you didn’t expect him to be that pretty of a person. His sharp jawline and happy smile in harmony with the way his hair fell around his face, the cherry on top being his golden retriever like personality.

You wondered deep down how you were going to last living with practically your ideal type for at least the rest of the year.

Leaving you back ni your room, time now 01:46AM and you still couldn’t sleep, your eye twitching at the sound of a train passing through the neighbourhood. Your eyes scan the room again, your small desk and makeshift wardrobe, the thin walls and the strange brown circle right above your bed…

Wait.

You hadn’t noticed that before.

You sit up right, gazing at the patch that had formed on your ceiling, it seemed to be growing rapidly. Just as you were about to get up, grab your phone and inspect it with the lights on, a droplet of water fell on your forehead. No, it wasn’t coming from the window, you were sure of it because the droplets were coming hard and fast.

“Shit, shit, shit.” You mumble underneath your breath, bursting your door open and trying to grab a bucket from the bathroom as silently as you could, not wanting to disturb Jake in the next room over. Taking the bucket from beside the shower and bringing on top of your bed, you place it directly underneath the leak.

Which also happened to be directly under where you were supposed to sleep for the night.

You were stumped. It was too late at night to get up and do something to waste time and too early to tough it out till the morning. You’d barely gotten an hour of sleep at this point.

You chew your lip as you go over the options in your head.

1.Sleep on your rooms molded, squeaky wooden floor with no blankets too… yours were getting a little wet now.

2. Knock on Jakes door, swallow all your pride, and ask for some spare blankets and sleep on his floor.

You were seriously considering a third option of flushing yourself down the toilet, but you knew the option A was just as bad as staying up until the sun rose, knowing you’d get no sleep either way. The couch was out of the question too, it would probably give you scoliosis if you tried laying down to sleep on it.

You sucked in a breath. You needed your sleep… this was going to be the only way, besides what's Jake going to do? Reject you? What’s the worst that could happen…

Throwing on a hoodie over your tank top you make the walk of shame out of your room, and gently knock on Jake’s door, praying to get this over with quickly.

At first you thought you heard nothing, knocking gently again, you get a small hum in response. You feel your cheeks heat up at his deep voice. You open the door handle to a bleary eyed Jake with messy bed hair, hunched over his bedside table as he turned on his lamp. Jake’s room was nice, much better than your own with space for a double bed and a built in closet.

“Hey, what are you doing up? You should get some rest, go back to sleep bunny.” He covered his yawn slightly, leaving you standing there, stupidly trying to get out the right words to explain your situation.

“Sorry to wake you up,” You start slowly, Jake starting to look more awake now. “But the um, the ceiling it started leaking.” He tilted his head in question over this. “Over my bed and I uh, don’t have anywhere else to sleep, could you lend me some blankets maybe? I-I could sleep on your floor…” You mentally slap yourself for stuttering like an idiot asking him a simple question.

Jake looked more awake now but still seemed to be processing everything you just said.

“You want to sleep on my floor?” You wanted to hide from embarrassment, was that seriously all he got out of your little proposal?

“Uh, yeah if that’s okay… we both know how gross mine is.” You laugh a little to fill out the awkward air. Jake is sat up right on his bed now, humming to himself as he puts his head on the headrest.

He rolls his head towards you, making sharp eye contact as he gives you his usual puppy like smile.

“There’s room for two in here you know?” He looks at you as if it’s the most obvious solution in the world to your problems, the 1+1 = 2 to your dilemma. You widen your eyes at him to which he only chuckles, shuffling over and flipping up the blanket to invite you in.

So he wasn’t kidding.

This wasn’t a little Jake ‘gotcha I’m such a prankster lol!’ moment, this was him seriously offering to sleep in the same bed. You were sure he was delirious.

“Don’t make me wait for you forever, I have sleep to catch up on bunny.” He raises an eyebrow at you which snaps you out of yoru daze, almost jumping as you slowly close the door behind you and take padded footsteps towards his bed.

You could not believe you were doing this right now.

Gently you sit on his bed and shuffle to lie down, pulling the sheets over yourself. Jake got comfortable pretty quick turning away from you and seemingly fell back asleep within seconds, but you just lied there staring at the ceiling, questioning whether the moldy floor would’ve allowed a more peaceful sleep than this.

Of course, his sheets smelled exactly like him, and the way he looked when he was sleeping as adorable, all curled up with tiny light snores escaping his lips. You squeeze your eyes shut and consider getting out, knowing there’d be no way you were falling out of consciousness this close to your roommate. But your escape plans rendered useless, a heavy arm locking the route out and trapping you close to his chest. You let out a small sharp gasp, even you could barely hear it yourself, but you were so sure that you could feel Jake smiling against your shoulder.

Your breathing slowed and your hearts pacing matched his, your eyelids felt heavy and you finally felt yourself drifting off into unconsciousness. A warm fuzzy feeling keeping you smiling in your sleep.

The sunlight gently wavered over your face and an unfamiliar light breeze drifting through the the curtains allowed your eyes to flutter open once again. A split seconds worth of panic arose in you as you noticed the pale white bed sheets and the strange soft mattress. Your surroundings felt all too… nice, you quickly remembered the events of last night and you sighed in relief, only to be swallowed in panic again once you noticed Jake was not sleeping beside you. You looked at the time: 9:30AM.

Although you were thankful it was a Saturday, it felt odd to be up this later, stranger yet in Sim Jake’s bed… without Sim Jake.

“Oh the bunny’s awake, morning sunshine.” Jake’s voice startled you form the doorway. He leaned onto the door frame, sipping a cup of coffee in hand and giving you a warm smile. You were dumbfounded at how casual he was about everything, but then again you weren’t going to deny that that was the best sleep you’ve had in months.

“How long have you been up?” You questioned him.

“Hmm, maybe since 8? I didn’t want to wake you up, you were sleeping so peacefully.” You blush at this, knowing that he’s seen what you look like sleeping gave you that feeling of intimacy that dwelled inside of you.

“You should’ve woken me up… I feel bad for taking up your space.” You heard Jake chuckle at this, he shook his head, allowing his messy hair to fall over his eyes again.

“You keep saying that, but we share the rent to this place together, don’t worry about it.” You hum at him, suddenly feeling self conscious under his gaze, clad in a hoodie and pyjama shorts, your hair probably a mess as you try and smooth it out.

You cough, “So are you gonna call someone to fix the leak? I can call up the landlord of you want me to.” You break your eye contact from him for a moment.

“No.” He replies flatly, causing you to look back up at him in confusion. “You should sleep in here more often.”

You feel your face go hot again, mouth falling open in an attempt to say something, but Jake had already gotten out of the doorway with a small smirk and a wink.

Leaving you in his sheets,

Time: 9:35AM.

it’s not a continuation but it’s heavily inspired by this lil thing i wrote <3

it was a bad idea.

horrible, actually.

niki was in mood for mischief today and you - as unfortunately - per usual were the victim.

it was supposed to be a lovely day off with your boyfriend, just the two of you since it was weekend. just gaming, napping and probably movie watching.

but no.

firstly, he messed with you while baking so the kitchen was covered with flour.

then he started tickling you.

and now he played a movie, reassuring you it’s a romantic comedy.

you were exhausted because of today’s events that you accepted niki’s weird choice and stayed glued to him like a panda.

while he dozed off, you actually got involved into the movie. and by every passing moment the movie did not seem like a romantic comedy.

when it was nearly the end of the movie, you already felt tears prickling the corners of your eyes.

the movie was about mom and her daughter. they got lost and separated due to some natural catastrophe. after some unfortunate events like getting hurt and robbed, they seemed to get closer.

niki stirred in his sleep and frowned when he didn’t feel your arms wrapped around him. niki lazily opened one one and then another just to see you sitting on your lap, leaning forward and being totally invested in the movie.

right, the movie.

he forgot about it.

niki knew what was coming next so he stood up and excused himself, going to the bathroom. just to hide.

niki didn’t have to wait a long.

"what?" you whispered when the girl took a wrong turn. she was about to meet her mom but she went the wrong way! "no–?!"

niki peeked from the bathroom, analysing the situation.

"no, come back!" you yelled, snatching a pillow and hugging it tightly to your waist "turn around! it’s the wrong way–!"

guilt started washing over the teen. he remembered how the movie really shattered his heart and how many tears were streaming down his cheeks the night he watched it.

"no, no, no–" you mumbled to yourself. even from his safe hiding place niki could see the tears threatening to spill in your eyes. "no!"

niki felt bad.

"what?! this is the end–?" you whined when the ending subtitles suddenly appeared. "NIKI!"

your eyes met his and niki knew he was in trouble. but your features softened and you bursted into tears, hiding your face in your hands.

he didn’t know if he should be relieved that you didn’t threw yourself to claw his eyes out or if he should be… sad. he did not wanted to make you cry. because, god, it was heartbreaking.

"y/n?" he asked quietly, posture composed as if he was approaching a wild creature.

"niki… they didn’t…" you sniffled, looking up. your teary eyes made his heart ache. what have he done…

"i know, y/n." niki whispered, letting his silly facade down. he came up to you, sitting down.

"why they didn’t…?" you continued to cry, leaning on his shoulder. niki wrapped his arm around you, soothingly rubbing your back. "why… why would you EVEN RECOMMEND THIS MOVE TO ME?!"

here it is.

niki yelled, jumping back as you started smacking his arms.

"I’M SORRY I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUNNY!" he laughed, trying to loosen up the tension but if looks could kill, he’d be dead.

"WHAT?! FUNNY?! YOU… YOU…–" you hit his arm with a fist.

"ow?! y/n!" niki scoffed dramatically

"IDIOT!" you huffed answer turned around to grab a pillow and load it onto his head.

but as you turned back to face him, you saw the rest of enhypen in the hallway.

"UGH!" you groaned and took advance of confused niki, launching the pillow at this head.

"y/n, come on–!" niki turned around, pouting.

"why is y/n crying?" sunoo asked, rushing towards you.

"because he… he…" you started, the images of heart shattering movie flashing before your eyes. and a bright perspective of niki getting scolded.

"did niki hurt you?" heeseung sent the younger one a dangerous glare and crossed his eyes.

"they broke up, you fools" sunghoon gasped dramatically, shaking his head

"WHAT–!" niki yelped as they all rushed to you, to close you in a tight hug. as you were sobbing, jungwon turned around.

"niki, i’m disappointed in you. y/n is a perfect girl, she’s so patient with you and your little pranks and yet you broke up with her? i’m speechless, really" the leader said, coldness in his eyes making niki shiver.

"i couldn’t agree more. she’s our little sister, you know?" jake furrowed his brows and hugged you closer, patting your head. niki could see a mischievous smile forming on your lips.

"but we– she’s– that’s not…?!" he was out of words.

"im gonna beat you up" jay suddenly said, pointing his finger at niki.

suddenly you snorted with laughter. quickly realising your mistake, you hid your face in jake’s hoodie.

jay smiled softly when he noticed how niki’s expression relaxed. the teen was trying so hard to look like he doesn’t care about you but… he’s whipped, he can’t hide that.

"what?" jungwon asked, crossing his arms.

"i’m trying to tell you that we didn’t break up. i just recommend y/n a sad movie and she was mad at me for doing that" niki huffed. the faces of his older members turned into relieved ones (but jay did not hesitate to smack his arm). "ow?"

"i don’t know what would i do if you broke up, honestly. as much as i love you, niki, y/n is just my best friend. well, sister" sunoo cooed, nodding his head. you finally showed your face, mischievous glint in your eyes.

"she literally has the devil horns right now, look how happy she is he got scolded" heeseung laughed, ruffling your hair.

"look, i’d be happy too. we’re y/n’s protection squad" jake grinned and you poked your tongue at niki.

fine, you won this one.

but he couldn’t help but feel relieved that you weren’t no longer crying. and he took a mental note not to make you cry again (not only because it breaks his heart but also for his own good)…

Sometimes we don't get what we deserve

(when you comfort him after a harsh breakup)

Pouring rain perfectly captured complicated emotions on the boy that lied down on your lap, sobbing loudly. You tried everything you could in order to make his day better but nothing seemed to work. But you couldn’t feel anything apart from pity for your best friend. Anybody after such a harsh breakup mixed up with witnessing their partner cheating would be in such a state as Jay was at that moment. Her being his first girlfriend didn’t make things any better. Words like: “I’ll never fall in love anymore” or “Why would she do that to me” escaped his mouth in between his crying session. All while you tried soothing his pain by ruffling his hair.

“Jay you’re gonna dehydrate yourself,” you said completely serious. “Let me get you some water.”

“Don’t you dare move,” he said sending you a threatening glare. “Don’t even think of leaving me right now”

“No please don’t…” you thought to yourself just for him to say what you predicted.

“Just like she did!” he cried bawling his eyes out.

“That’s enough!” You had enough of his hopeless state. “Jay you better get up, right now. We’re going on a trip,” you spoke firmly knowing how he loved spontaneous trips, praying his current state wouldn’t change that affinity.

“Where?” he asked making you sigh in relief.

“Surprise.”

Both of you sat in your car, and none of you spoke any words during the ride, silence engulfing you in a warm embrace. While waiting for a green light you took a quick glance at your friend. His tired eyes were still a little bit swelled, hair a total mess. Yet he still looked as good as always, no matter how long he had cried that night.

After a while you stopped a car, snapping Jay out of his unmatched thoughts.

“Y/n what are we doing here? Why the beach?” he asked but you already jumped out of the car. Without saying a word he followed you, stepping out of the comfortable car to stand in the pouring rain. To your surprise, he didn’t ask any questions or protest against your questionable techniques to make him feel at least a bit better. Because when it came to his well-being he trusted you fully.

Even though the rain never stopped pouring, the weather was warm, just like any day in the middle of the rainy season. You walked on the path leading to the beach. Feeling you started to feel the water in your shoes you took them off and left on your way. Jay just like a lost puppy followed all of your steps, leaving his pair next to yours.

You stopped your tracks to watch wild waves from a safe distance. You looked at your friend wondering if the droplets of water are caused by his tears, the rain, or both of them.

“Do you feel any better?” you asked, hoping for a positive answer.

“I don’t know,” he answered simply, before glancing at her, eyes even more exhausted than before. Never in your life have you felt worse than right now. You had never seen Jay in such a miserable state, all because one girl.

“Then scream.”

The simplicity of your statement made him frown. “What?”

“Scream, Jay. Nobody’s gonna hear you here. Just me, you and the sea.”

Jay thought for a second, the idea of just screaming his heart out seemed ridiculous, but also strangely liberatory.

So he did.

He screamed until he could’t think of anything else he wanted to say.

He screamed until all the tears he had left were resting on his burning cheeks.

He screamed until his heart stopped beating so fast, and gradually slowing down its pace.

“Am I not deserving to be loved?” he whispered lowering his head.

You bit your lips lightly, relieved to see your friend pouring his heart and worries out, but also concerned by the last thing he said. You hugged him tightly, him hugging you back almost immediately. Both of you sat on wet sand still in each other embrace.

“Jay, you, out of all the people I know, deserve to be loved the most,” you whispered feeling your own salty tears brimming in your eyes. “Sometimes we don’t get wht we deserve, though. You are the most hard-working, loyal, inteligent and beautiful man I know, both inside and out. Person that waits for you in your future is safe to say the luckiest person. And if she didn’t see that in you, means she wasn’t deserving and didn’t unerstand the values you treasure. I hope you know that you deserve to be loved brilliant and dazzling love.”

He pulled out of your hug and looked down at his hands, just to look back at you. “Thank you Y/n. You always know what to say to make me feel better,” he said, a glimpse of bliss in his brown orbs.

“That’s what friends are for,” you smiled beamingly.

The ride back to his apartment to drop him off was once again silent, this time in a comfortable and a blissful way. Just before he got out of your car he turned to face you and said: “Y/n, I just want you to know that I also think, no, I know you deserve the best, I hope when you’ll find somebody you like they’ll treat you just like you deserve to be treated.” With that he left you in your car, and ran to the entrance of his apartment complex.

“If only you knew, Jay,” you said single tear falling on your cheek.

- heeseung was doing a dance practice with his members which took a bit long for you

- you missed his warmth, scent, just everything tbh.

- so you stole his hoodie! it had his scent on it so why not?

- you watched a kdrama while waiting for him

- after a few hours he came home, it was about 11 pm

- you quickly ran too him and hugged him, he was blushing a bit because you were wearing his hoodie, he later complimented you and told you to wear it more often.

- you didnt know what to wear so you just took his hoodie because it was for some reason very comfortable

- "hey my lovee" you said softly, back hugging him

- "huh? oh!- hey darling" he replied softly recognizing ur hoodie

- "you look cute in my hoodie" he shyly admitted

- he was cooking dinner so you decided to continue back hugging him instead hugging him normally

- "wear them more often." he mumbled cutely

- you were bored so you asked cute layla which hoodie you should pick from Jake

- layla picked up a white hoodie with a pink smiley on it

- "woah, layla!! good girl~" you said while ruffling her fuzzy fur

- he came to the bedroom and immediately dropped his phone not caring about it and ran to you immediatly
