sometimes writing isn’t about talent. sometimes it’s about sitting in your chair and suffering for 45 minutes until a single sentence crawls out of your skull

the thing is that childhood doesn't just end when you turn 18 or when you turn 21. it's going to end dozens of times over. your childhood pet will die. actors you loved in movies you watched as a kid will die. your grandparents will die, and then your parents will die. it's going to end dozens and dozens of times and all you can do is let it. all you can do is stand in the middle of the grocery store and stare at freezers full of microwave pizza because you've suddenly been seized by the memory of what it felt like to have a pizza party on the last day of school before summer break. which is another ending in and of itself

idk the thing i like about the lonely is that theres no one traumatizing incident. its a slow and oppressive fear. like i dont think jon was 'marked' by the fifteen minutes he spent yelling 'mahtin' in the lonely, i think he was marked by the weeks and weeks of everyone hating his ass through season 4.
Martin wasn't the same. he was isolated, and sad, but he found comfort in the lonely the same way Lukas did, and the same way Jude did with the desolation. He was letting the lonely into himself, not being sacrificed to it.
i always saw it more that Martin was being groomed to become an avatar, and jon was gonna be his first victim.

fanart for @kahnah23's fanfic Throwing Rocks At Your Windows
I would say these are doodles or sketches but they took me way longer than that ...
Still not 100% satisfied with this but oh well, embracing imperfection

there is nothing quite like being interrupted while absolutely immersed in whatever you're writing. i think this must be how fish feel when they're snatched out of the water by a bird of prey

It has been bothering me for months (or however long it’s been since we got the episode with Archives Verse! Alice)
How in the hell did Alice and Sam have an amicable breakup in one universe and get married in another? Because they seem to be getting along too well in the Protocol Verse for their breakup to have been very ugly, and amicable breakups are typically more of a ‘actually, our personalities/life goals/circumstances don’t align’. And I cannot understand what could be different in the Archives Verse for that not to have been a problem.
And then it hit me.
The Magnus Institute.
We know it works completely differently in the Protocol Verse, and I can’t see Elias in the Archives Verse having tolerated kids enough to even experiment on them.
Archives! Sam didn’t attend a gifted children’s program screening at the Magnus Institute and didn’t have a strange experience he couldn’t explain that then ruined his life and relationships.
It all comes back to the Magnus Institute.

I recognize terror as the finest emotion and so I will try to terrorize the reader. But if I find that I cannot terrify, I will try to horrify, and if I find that I cannot horrify, I'll go for the gross-out. I'm not proud.
