THE LAST TIME I SAW "YOU"

“When was the last time that I saw you…” Elisabeth looked out of the windows and thought to herself. A thick Murky layer of fog enveloped the busy city. The road was busy with people coming and going, but no one here would stop for her… just like the man she never forgot in her heart would never stop for her.
“Where are you, Noah?” She asked with tears trickling down from the corners of her eyes.
“I miss you, I miss you every single day even every single second of my life. It’s always so painful when I think of you. I shouldn’t let you go… I know I shouldn’t.” The lady whimpered.
As she continued to gaze out into the foggy street, Elisabeth heard the pattering of tar drops hitting the pavement. The sound seemed to echo the rhythm of her heart, slowly breaking into pieces with every passing moment.

Suddenly, a silhouette appeared in the distance, walking towards her through the thick fog. As the figure grew closer, she realized it was the guy, the one she could never forget in her life.
“Noah.. are you…really Noah?” The words were on the tip of her tongue, but it seemed impossible to ask. Perhaps, Elisabeth is afraid of an answer from him. She cannot believe her eyes; everything is so surreal.

Gradually, she could hear the footsteps of this tall, mature gentleman with black hair. Elisabeth's heart raced as he drew near, wondering if this was really him. The man stopped in front of her and gazed into her eyes, his own filled with tears.
“When was the last time that I saw you…” he whispered, echoing her thoughts.
“When was the last time that I saw you…When was the last time that I saw you…When was the last time that I saw you…” It kept hovering in the ears of these former and familiar lovers. The whole city seemed to be still in this space. Elisabeth couldn't speak, tears streaming down her face as she reached out to touch him. He took her hand and pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her as they both wept tears of joy.
”I thought you would never leave me alone; I thought I was not that important to you…” She said.
“I know that I was too selfish at that time. I was hoping you give up everything you have to leave with me. I left there because it has no more opportunity for me, but also I killed the opportunity for us by my own hands.” Noah's voice was low and sorrowful as he spoke. Elisabeth listened to him carefully, her heart aching with every word he uttered.
"But now, I realize how much I need you in my life. Elisabeth. I can't imagine spending another day without you," Noah continued, his eyes never leaving hers.
Elisabeth felt a surge of hope and love within her. She had never stopped loving Noah, even after all these years. And now, he was, standing before her, confessing his feelings.
"I've missed you too, Noah. So much," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
The two of them stood there, lost in each other's eyes, their emotions raw and unfiltered. The rain continued to fall outside, but they didn't notice. The world had stopped spinning for them.
“Beep Beep,” a vast tuck horned on Elisabeth. She’s standing in the middle of a crosswalk with no one around her.

Elisabeth awoke to the sound of her alarm clock going off. She sat up and rubbed her eyes, feeling disoriented. Last night, she experienced the strangest dreams of her life. She almost didn't believe it was a dream because it felt so real. However, she recalled the dream was so hazy that she only remembered being so helpless on the streets of New York because of an unknown man. 'The last time I saw you…' she thought, but she couldn't remember who she was talking to.
She felt a lingering sense of unease as she got out of bed. She couldn't shake the feeling that something important was missing from her life because the dream was so vivid. She went about her morning routine, hoping the strange sensation would pass. But it didn't work.
She decided to go for a walk during her lunch break to clear her mind. She noticed a familiar figure in the distance as she crossed the street. Sofia, a childhood friend she hadn't seen in years, was there.

"I saw you the last time at your wedding!" As they hugged, Sarah exclaimed.
Elisabeth was surprised. Was it really that long ago? Time had flown by, and she had lost touch with so many people.
Elisabeth was incredibly appreciative of their chance to meet as they walked and chatted. Sarah had always been there for her, even when things were tough. They talked about their childhood, shared experiences, and all the memories they'd made together.
As the sun began to set, they parted ways, promising to keep in touch this time.
Elisabeth felt lighter than she had in a long time when she returned home. The strange feeling from earlier had vanished, replaced by a sense of warmth and comfort. She realized that a sincere relationship could always be remembered.

However, as she lay in bed that night, she had a similar feeling. Hadn't she been through something similar before? She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, only to awaken on the streets of New York once more.
Even so, this time was different. The fog had lifted, and she could see everything clearly. She looked around, attempting to make sense of what she was seeing, but nothing seemed familiar. Suddenly, she noticed the same silhouette from her previous dream approaching her.
"The last time I saw you was in your dream," the man said, smiling.
Elisabeth was confused. Was this man from her previous dream? But she couldn't remember anything about him.
"Who are you?" she asked.
"I'm your subconscious mind, your imagination. I'm here to remind you of the important things in your life "He responded. “The important things in your life should be something that you feel happy and cherish."
With a start, Elisabeth awoke, feeling lost once more.

Elisabeth wakes up to the sound of her mother's voice. She rubs her eyes and stretches, feeling the sun's warmth streaming through her bedroom window. It had all been a dream. The city with its glittering lights and bustling streets had disappeared, replaced by the familiar surroundings of her childhood home.
"The last time I saw you, you were sleeping like a baby," her mother says with a smile. "It's time to wake up now, my dear."
Elisabeth sits up in bed, a wave of relief washing over her. The dream was so vivid and confirmed that it felt like a second life. She now understands that she has been missing something and is glad to be back in her safe haven.
As she goes through her day, she starts to notice the people around her in a different way. She sees the care and concern in her mother's eyes as she prepares breakfast, the playful teasing of her younger brother as he tries to steal a bite of her toast, and the warmth of her best friend's embrace as they catch up on each other's lives.
The dream made her realize how meaningful these relationships are in her life. She had been so focused on her so-called "mister right" that she had forgotten the value of kinship and friendship. The city had seemed like an escape, a place where she could be whoever she wanted, but it had left her feeling empty.
She realizes that the people she loves and who love her back are what truly makes her happy. As she walks through the city's busy streets, she sees people rushing by, too busy to notice the beauty around them. She feels a sense of gratitude for the simple things in life: the sun's warmth on her skin, the sound of laughter from a nearby park, and the company of those who mean the most to her.
Elisabeth returns home with a newfound appreciation for her family and friends. She spends the evening chatting with her mother, playing games with her brother, and catching up with her best friend. She realizes what and who is actually important to her life and makes her feel meaningful.
