Very excited to have a pope who will work in accordance with God’s will: by that, I mean excommunicating people for putting ketchup on their hotdogs.
#pope Leo XIV#I don’t actually have a problem with ketchup on hotdogs#but my inner Chicagoan still cannot resist the jokes

Something I'm wondering about - for us fantasy writers, how many write in a different subgenre that's not their favorite? It's a silly musing since genres and subgenres are, in the words of Captain Hector Barbossa, less like rules and more like guidelines, but I'm still interested.
Only including those genres because a.) those are my favorite types of fantasy, b.) we got limited space here, c.) I don't want to search for every subgenre of fantasy there is.
I wouldn't really say I have a favorite, but if I had to chose I'd probably go with Urban Fantasy. While I write a lot of that, I haven't released any of it. So the closest poll option for me would be Option 4 lol
#writing#writeblr#fantasy#high fantasy#low fantasy#urban fantasy#dark fantasy#science fantasy#literary genres are more real than musical genres#but they're still not as real as people think IMO

Welcome to Ordinor Ultor!
You’ve ruled the Duchy of Akize, the southwesternmost duchy in the Kingdom of Ribaur, for 15 years, since the year 1107 ME.
15 years ago, your Liege had your parents executed for a plot they had no part in.
Despite becoming a ruler while only a teenager, your lands have done well - no thanks to your Liege’s proclamations. Despite the annoying interference, you would have been content to just administer your lands and pay your taxes.
But one day, your Liege goes too far, and wrongs one of your siblings - personally.
You’ve had enough. You and your siblings will chafe no longer under the yoke of that tyrant. You will be free from oppression - whatever it takes.
Choose your character's name, the name of their noble house, and whether they are a Duke (male), Duchess (female), or Dux (enby).
Choose which foreign land your mother hailed from - such as the northern court of Ostroway or the island nation of Sayland.
Pick the type of education you received - were you taught how to use the shadows of Intrigue? How to construct Martial strategies? Or something else?
Interact with your friends and family, possibly including your foreign cousins.
Choose how to deal with your Liege - will they be put on Trial, will you lead an armed Rebellion, or will you take to the shadows to have them Assassinated?
Pick from four gender-selectable ROs - two fellow vassals and two foreign nobles.
Deal with various interest groups - such as the Peasants you rule over, your fellow Vassals, the religious head known as the Hierophant, and more.
Ordinor Ultor takes palce in a low(ish...) fantasy world, with the protagonist's home country of Ribaur being inspired by medieval France.
I'm relatively new to coding, so I can't promise a concrete update schedule yet (also, if anyone has any advice and/or resources for me to use, I'd be very grateful!). That being said... DEMO BY APRIL 29TH 2024
I hope everyone enjoys!

…“We don’t want your money, we want your life,” a masked thief said, front and center.
Robin scowled. “Not for sale. Leave now, or be destroyed.”
The masked thief scoffed. “A wyrm as obstinate as any of the Fell Star’s blood kin. Men, advance!” He and several of the others charged straight for Robin, brandishing wicked looking knives, and he could feel the remaining attackers begin charging dark magic to sling at him.
Very poor decision, that.
Really, all of this was a poor decision - he’d faced far worse odds than this and come out on top, and that was still when he was only Robin.
…
Byleth shook his head. “Professor Byleth Eisner of the Blue Lions. The Church sent us, said your company has been having some problems with bandits?”
She grabbed her chin, letting out a small hmm. “I was, yes, but my problems have been mostly solved for a week or two now.”
“Strange,” Dimitri replied, “usually we would be directed elsewhere in such a case. Is it possible you forgot to inform the officials you’d petitioned for help?”
She shook her head. “Trust me, Your Highness, I don’t forget things. It is possible my messenger got lost in transit, however. He’s… not from around here. He might have gotten lost, or even injured, in the mountains or on the road.”
Chapter 18, ‘Consequences, Part 1,’ of my fanfic Time is Not a River came out the other day. This was originally going to be a much longer chapter, and was simply going to be titled ‘Consequences’ but my computer’s fans totally died and so I had to send it in.
Writing on my PC is just more comfortable, so sue me.
Might try to work on my FE Fates fanfic Unbroken Ties, the supports the TiNaR, or even both, while my PC is being repaired.

Pitch #2– Edelgard & Rhea– Rhea uses the hidden passages within Enbarr to find Edelgard when she was a child and rescues her from further experimentation by TWSitD.
Rhea will make sure no one ever hurts her family again.
So, the '"my favorite is a war criminal" support server' holiday exchange has come and gone, and here's my entry! This was a lot of fun to write, I love doing stuff centered on the Nabateans and/or the Agarthans, and this let me do just that.

I made the bio cards for Brother Leir Brutan, Sir Glevus Glow, and Priska Sigeian, the surfacer disguises of the leaders of the Agarthan Resistance from my Fire Emblem Three Houses fic Time Is Not A River. Still no portraits because I still can't draw. So far only Leir Brutan has shown up - first in chapter 13 as his real self, Silenos, and later in chapter 15, both as his disguise and his real self.
Fun facts:
Priska is the oldest and Glevus is the youngest (though he's still around 300 years old), but the age gap between Priska and Leir is *far* greater than the age gap between Leir and Glevus.
All three's true identities are connected to one of the noble houses of the region they oversee. I tried to hint at which ones via their likes and dislikes.
Silenos actually bears a Crest (mentioned in ch.15), but just like how Edelgard's Crest of Flames and Lysithea’s Crest of Gloucester don't show up until they’re revealed, and like Byleth and Marianne's Crests are obfuscated, it's not shown on his disguised bio.
