As someone who sold adoptables, i feel this needs to be said.

if you make adoptable characters and sell them for money, you need to understand that you're selling the character. Don't sit here and make people pay money for a character,then say "you can't use this character in anything you make a profit off of!"

no, okay. you're selling the character for money. when you do this, the person who PAYS for the character, get all of the rights to it. the only thing they can't do is say they came up with the design. 

For example, a company doesn't say "we'll sell you this paper, but if you use it for anything that you make a profitoff of, you're violating my copyright!"

No, the paper now belongs to the person who purchased it.

if you don't want people to use your character designs for commercial use, Don't Sell Them! 

Seriously guys, if a person is out looking for a character, chances are they're wanting to use that character for something specific, say a webcomic, and would like to help artists by purchasing a design. only to turn around and figure out that "Oh, i cant use this in a webcomic because i could potentially make a profit off of it." It's one thing to claim the design as yours, but once someone buys the character, it becomes THEIRS to do what they want with it. 

please come to terms with this.
