hey so protip if you have abusive parents and need to get around the house as quietly as possible, stay close to furniture and other heavy stuff because the floor is settled there and it’s less likely to creak

Some places don’t even name the charity like you’re just donating to the corporation’s tax writeoff. You’re better off giving that money to a homeless person on the street who needs it more..

Adulting but not really
In my life I want to earn enough that I can afford to not need social support system. Especially if that support system is made of individuals I tolerate only cuz my partner used to have something common with them years ago. I am done with superficial friendships.

Now, how do we fix this??
So I was reading about how the meritocracy is really bad - it’s a system that makes people more selfish, less self critical, and more prone to being discriminatory. I’m paraphrasing a publication here anyway.
So that’s cool and that got me thinking about my position and how I’ve always felt that yes I’ve been privileged to receive education, support, and opportunities. I recognize that.
Buuuutttttt how do I reconcile this with my imposter syndrome??? I always have felt I’m not good enough for my job and now research is backing me up?? Ughhhhhhhh.

Please be fair, employers
I am so incapacitated when I have to talk money - even if it is money I deserve. I would rather let myself starve to death than ask someone for money for my efforts.
I’m struggling to give myself a pep talk to ask for a raise that I deserve- I’ve had no work done in the past hour cuz of the anxiety. The wage gap is not just a financial blow - this fucks mental health and productivity imho.

Merry Christmas I guess
Everyone from my Muslim boss to Hindu friends is wishing me a Merry Christmas, in spite of knowing that I’m not a Christian. Why did they not feel obliged to wish me for Ramadan, or Diwali???? The way our culture is so Christian-centric irritates me, cuz it’s a product of our culture being US-centric. Ughhhhhh.

The greater common fucking good
Ok my late-night thought diarrhea.. I’ve argued against so many people regarding “it’s ok to sacrifice a life to save a thousand”. But it just struck me- this argument is incomplete without knowing the value of these lives.
Would a Syrian be sacrificed to save 1000 Americans? Hell yes
Would 1000 Syrians be sacrificed to save an American? Yes
But would an American be sacrificed to save 1000 Syrians? Bahahahaha bitch please.
You can change the nationality anyhow to get an honest individual perception of racism.

Ugh Obama whyyyyy...
Ok I’m a huge fan if Obama and all that.. can’t believe I begin by defending myself.
Anywhooo.. why was he asking women to step up at the Nelson Madela event?? Why is he not asking the men to fucking grow up? Why is the improvement of the world on only women’s shoulders?!! I’ve seen this enough number of times where a man’s assfuckery is explained as “oh but his wife/mother did not teach him anything...”.

It has come to my attention that most people don’t know this about Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and that’s a goddamn crime against humanity.
Back when they were young and poor they had to share a single person bed for six months. As Pegg put it, they started out sleeping head to feet, but after kicking each other in the face one too many times they started sleeping head to head. It wasn’t long after that that they gave up on being macho “no touchy” dudes and just snuggled up during bedtime. In the morning they “couldn’t tell where one began and the other ended”.
That’s why they’re so cuddly today. They’re so physically close that it worried Frost’s fiance at the time and she asked them to never share a bed again after she got married to Frost. The night before the wedding Frost wasn’t allowed to see her anyway, so Pegg dropped by his house so they could share a bed one last time (Frost since got a divorce though). Pegg’s wife has no objections to any of this. If it’s important to her hubby, who is she to judge.
Pegg recommend all male friends to try sharing a bed. If it turns out you want to fuck each other, great, you’re going to have a lot of fun. If you don’t want to fuck each other, well, then nothing happens anyway.
(Side note: That’s also why there’s so many photos of Edgar Wright cuddling up to various guys. He learned that from Pegg and Frost. They created a cuddle monster that can’t be stopped)
