hey again!!!

We worked a little bit more on our game concept and we wanted to share a little bit of it <3

Task 1: a.) Our game is a jump-and-run game in which the aim is to learn more about a future-oriented life. It is designed to provide users with information about specific living spaces, packaged in a cozy game design. b.) The main character in our game is Bouncy, a kangaroo. In worlds such as the underwater world, other characters help him to master the levels, as a kangaroo cannot swim. Our game combines fun with learning. c.)

Version 1

Our game is a cozy jump-and-run adventure that invites players to discover a sustainable way of living. With Bouncy, a curious kangaroo, players explore exciting worlds like the underwater realm, where new friends help overcome challenges. Fun and learning go hand in hand!

Version 2

Dive into a charming jump-and-run game that playfully teaches insights about future-oriented living. Guided by Bouncy the kangaroo, players navigate unique environments and learn valuable lessons along the way.

Version 3

A cozy jump-and-run game where learning meets fun. Join Bouncy the kangaroo on an exciting journey through imaginative worlds, uncovering tips for sustainable living while enjoying a delightful gaming experience. Task 2: In our game you can collect coins, unlock new worlds and levels and you can choose different characters and accessories (for example: depending on the season, such as Christmas hats). Our game aims to captivate its users with its coziness. It should be a moment in the day where the gamer can forget all his worries and relax.

Keypoints of our game <3

What makes it a game?

The game structure is based on levels, points, and challenges to overcome. In general, the interaction is what makes the game unique, as Bouncy can move freely.

What is the challenge/fun?

The challenge in our game is to complete the levels with various obstacles. The fun of the game comes from the rush of endorphins you get as Bouncy (our protagonist) hops through different worlds and meets other characters along the way.

What is the feedback and awarding scheme?

You can unlock characters or levels, so you can look forward to the next level with excitement.

Why is this a game and not homework or a simulation?

Unlike homework, which is task-oriented, this game is designed to be enjoyable and engaging. Emotional engagement in our game is more central in games than in most simulations or homework. Targetgroup:

We also started thinking about our target group and came to a decision, that we want to address teenagers and young adult at the age of 15-27 years old, who love to play cute detailed indie-games on their mobile phone. So that they can really play it anywhere on their phone, in the public transport or in school or university, wherever. Teamwork 🫶🏻

Since a game design requires different role distributions, we decided on Emma as manager, Larissa as artist and Kathrin as tester/analyst. With our different skills that we can use, we make a great team for kangaroogames <3. Update: We just redesigned our logo to make it cuter and more cozier. This is the result:

Larry: 

I really love Super Mario Bros, since it is a fun jump and run game that you can play solo or as a multiplayer game. There are a lot of Easter Eggs and different worlds with many details. The level of difficulty varies from world to world. I’ve been playing Super Mario Bros since I got my first Nintendo when I was 10 years old! 

Emma: 

I decided on the game Mario Kart since it is a very variable game. You can play it on your own or in a group up to 4 people. It is also possible to play it on your smartphone or on all kind of game consoles. You can personalize the characters and their vehicles. There are also a lot of other features. Nowadays there are many different editions. 

Kathrin: 

One game I really liked was Sims 4, where you could create and design Sims, dress them in clothes, build houses and generally guide Sims through life. There aren't really goals in this game that you can/should achieve. But rather tasks and jobs that you can fulfill. In my opinion, it's simply a fully comfy game.
