Hate how people pin all the blame of the Al-Ghul's racist writing on Grant, who is going to hell for it and is a big factor for sure, but the Al-Ghuls were racist since their inception. There is no recongizable Talia or Ra's that is not in some way racist. They are 70s style racism of being an eco-terrorist who are often also trying to force Ra's old way of life onto people.

OCD symptom i struggle with but don't see talked about a lot: inability to trust your own memory and/or perception.

as an example: i put my headphones in my bag. i say im sure they're in my bag, but what if i imagined putting them in my bag? i have to check, so i stick my hand inside and grab them. but then i have to check *again* because what if i just so happened to have another object shaped and sized exactly like my headphones that i just forgot about? so i have to pull them out of my bag and look directly at them to fully confirm they were in my bag

this is a fairly benign example but this also happens with other worse scenarios for me and it's. not fun

you’re referring to impulsive thoughts, intrusive thoughts are undesirable and often horrific for the person experiencing them. you dyeing your hair randomly is not an intrusive thought.

I don't think there's enough visibility for people who have bigoted intrusive thoughts (unwanted, uncontrollable thoughts) especially for those who aren't part of the groups the thoughts are bigoted towards. So shout-out to everyone who has these intrusive thoughts. People with racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, xenophobic, ableist, and anything else. Your intrusive thoughts don't define you and don't define how you truly feel about different groups of people. Your intrusive thoughts don't make you a bigot.

I think the most fucked up thing about intrusive thoughts is it's really difficult to discuss them without discussing their content, because without a discussion of their content it's impossible to get across just how distressing and debilitating they are. "Oh, you have unpleasant thoughts sometimes? Yeah we all have that, I guess."

But if you discuss their content there's this huge risk of people just pulling away in disgust. "Oh god, you have THOSE sorts of thoughts? They should lock freaks like you the fuck up!" As if they think people act on every single thought they have.
