I keep seeing hopecore videos of this guy and it's literally just him giving compliments to people he walks past. but then the comment section actually appalled me because it was FULL of people being like "second hand embarrassment" or "my introvert ass could never". Do y'all in America just not regularly compliment other people?? yes these videos are sweet and they make me smile, but is this not a normal thing in America? this is also how I learned that apparently in America they don't say thank you to the bus driver or "sorry" when they bump into someone. ik there's cultural differences between countries but do y'all just not have kindness normalized

NOW THAT I'M DONE BEING IN DISBELIEF OVER THE FACT THAT AN SU SPINOFF WAS CONFIRMED, I wanna talk about my wonders and hopes and theories for this show.

Im wondering if there's going to be any animation changes in Lars of the Stars. And if there is going to be one, is it just going to be a subtle upgrade or more dramatic changes? I'd be fine with most things but I'm just wondering if there would be any.

Side note, Idk if I pointed this out in my last post but ADORE the logo. Lars would 100% be the kinda guy to use spray paint as protests to stuff and they are definitely gonna be protesting authorities so I think the pink spray-painted star is really really cool. I also LOVE the skull in the "of" as a nod to the skull gauges that Steven brought Lars in the Lars of the stars episode. the font is also very much giving star Wars vibes which I feel is fitting. It also makes me feel like (this is just a silly theory) they might lean into more of a darker tone throughout everything? I know that SU was already pretty dark sometimes but it feels like this is gonna be more mature, like for older more teenager audiences, especially since they know that the fan base of Steven Universe has grown a lot.

With that said, I really hope they have Lars begin to grapple with and be thrown into the true realization that he is going to live a lot longer than his family and (most of his) friends. Humans aren't built to be able to withstand immortality mentally like gems are, mostly because gems aren't often friends with organics that live shorter lives. I hope they put Lars through a kind of depressive arc for him to really carry the weight of that.

I also hope we see Steven in the show, but at the same time I hope he's not a major character at all, because he should be done with dealing with gem stuff.

I really hope we see more of the OG main gems. I hope that Lars needs their help at some point for whatever reason and forms some kind of bond with some of the crystal gems. I also NEEDD to see Lars and Peridot meet each other.

Considering the description of the show stated that we would be going into the past, present, and future of Steven Universe, I hope that they tackle a lot more backstory for the diamonds, maybe even their origin since that's what a lot of people have been asking about.

I hope we get to see Connie fight with Lars at least once. I hope we get to see Connie in general

"erm actually that's a dragon not a wyvern" to the contrary, dragons are mythological creatures. Not only that, but They are the most vague in classification out of any fantasy creature to exist. ESPECIALLY in terms of limbs. in a lot of cultures, dragons are shown as feathered, and in others, they have fur, BUT THEY ARE ALL STILL DRAGONS.

Chinese dragons, for example, don't have wings at all and have 4 legs. They are described as a mythical shapeshifter whose most common form is a composite of various animals. Mesoamerican dragons have 0 legs and 2 wings and are described as a "feathered serpent". Dutch Angel Dragons have fur instead of scales and feathered wings instead of bat-like wings. Ancient Greek dragons sometimes had multiple heads. The word "dragon" itself derives from an Ancient Greek word: drakōn, but when you see a 1-headed dragon you don't call it out for not actually being a dragon.

European dragons were depicted as a fire-breathing, scaly, horned, lizard-like creature with bat-like wings and 4 legs. some depictions have spines going down it's back. This is what you think of when you hear the word "dragon" because this is what is depicted in a lot of Western media.

The people who say "Those are not dragons, thats a drake/wyrm/wyvern" are the people who think of European dragons as the only definition of dragon. But all of these mythological creatures from all of these cultures are still dragons, despite not being like the European dragon description.

The term "wyver" first appears in Great Roll in 1312, and is derived from the Old French "wyvre", meaning "serpent". The term "dragon" appears by the following century. Afterwards, four-legged dragons become increasingly popular in heraldry and become distinguished from the two-legged kind during the sixteenth century, at which point the latter kind becomes commonly known as the "wyver" and later "wyvern"." Which is why the terms are separated in the first place.

I'm not too sure on the history and culture of Drakes and Wyrms and Wyverns and how they originated, but from my understanding, they could all be classified under the general umbrella of dragons. So saying "that's not a dragon, that's a wyvern" is the same as saying "that's not a bird, that's an owl" or "that's not a dog, that's a German Shepherd"

TLDR: if the author or artist says it's a dragon, it is a dragon, because the word dragon in itself is so incredibly vague because how different and diverse interpretations of dragons are from eachother.

As an overall message, don't believe everything you read online. Dragons and wyverns aren't always completely seperate species. Check your sources when you read something. Yeah I'm talking to you, dear reader, go check tour sources right now. get off Tumblr and go find out what Dutch Angel Dragons are. Anyone can spread misinformation.

I find differences in weather across countries really funny because I just got an emergency alert for destructive winds and all my friends are giving each other instructions on keeping the windows locked and going to the basement if it gets rough, but then meanwhile my friend over in Florida a few months ago during Hurricane Milton was just like "yea I'm finna sleep through it, no big deal 🧍‍♂️"

and when said friend talks about how cold it is, I'm just appalled, not only because of the use of Fahrenheit but because they are talking about what nice autumn/early spring eather is for me in Canada. but then when I complain about the heat they talk about how nice and cool that temperature is.
