Golden Moon & Silver Sun

• The Sun of Silver Threads •

Silver crown of disks on head, reminder of pride, a sign of her achievement. A daughter of her clan, a sister to her tribe. Deya was their future guide, the pathfinder who’ll guide them to tomorrow’s dawn. That was her role to fill. She saw the way her sisters bowed to her, like flowers following the sun. What did they see? A the leader perhaps? A future center of clan’s star system? That mattered little. Still it let the sinking feelings grew bigger. The dread of expectation. Fear of fail.

But all fell flat upon one look. Alcmene’s. Her presence shattered doubts, made monsters crawled back to the shadows. Around her she was but a satellite, destined to follow her pull. She was no longer Sun, but Moon, bound to be forever lost without her light. Alcmene shined with warmth and care.. And yet herself, she was so clueless of her own brightness.

• The Disk of Golden Moon •

Her golden, claw-like, charms sparked in candle light of healer hunt. No longer child that was found amidst the ruin. She was a healer now, like clan-sister that she called her mother. A peaceful soul. And yet Gods blessed her with a gift of Magick. A well of untapped potential that she refused to touch for anything but healing. Some thought her coward, she had no doubts. The Clan had always lived by hunt. It’s sacred ritual above the starry skies that she did not partake. Her sisters were the constellations of bows and arrows, but she had thought herself a Moon. The one that mends the unsalvageable and heals the incurable.

Yet Moon is always full when Sun directly shines at her. The only star that mattered. Her star. Alcmene felt alive in cool blue light, she felt herself, she felt enough. The wave of comfort. True home. The Sun that’s weaved with silver threads in tapestry of sky. Like morning star that showed the way. Her guiding light. Deya. Her home.
