Yesterday I got into a lengthy discussion with someone on reddit because I said that Ozempic and Wegovy have a lot of potential uses beyond diabetes and adipositas.

For example people who had to take high dosage cortisone and were suffering from Cushing's symptoms like excessive weight gain.

He insisted that it will go away after you stop the medication. Moonface is just water.

So I sent him studies about excessive belly and shoulder fat deposits.

I gave up when he came out with "Well, *I* have never kept any belly fat from taking prednisone"

As if that is a valid argument against medical studies. At least be honest that you think weight gain is a personal failure.

(And no, people don't need to lose weight. But belly fat especially can cause health problems, and being overweight is bad when you have joint problems to begin with. Cushing's also causes muscle loss and loss of aerobic capacity on top, which makes it even harder to control weight gain, and is also exercerbated being overweight. Having spindly arms and legs, fat on the back of your shoulders and a big belly also makes it absolutely impossible to find clothes on top of everything <- very personal pet peeve)

Know what’s sad?  When Steve’s plane was going down and Peggy proposes a date a week from then at the Stork Club.

The Stork Club was in New York.  They were working out of London, if not France, by then.  She suggested someplace they both knew, but wouldn’t have been able to get to.

idk if this is a hot take necessarily but I will only be satisfied with 2o2g if it is mediocre at best. I want a cheesy action movie with gratuitous explosions. yeah good writing and acting and directing would be nice or whatever but this way I am pleasantly surprised if it happens and not disappointed if it doesn’t. but really I would be thrilled if it is your run of the mill action movie and nothing all that special.

i'm at the exact same place to be honest my no 1 hope is that it is either watchable or so bad it's good. if we're being completely honest, my personal take is that tog 1 was also.... mediocre at best, and i say this as someone who latched onto it like a baby bird. it absolutely has compelling characters and concepts but oftentimes those concepts aren't quite followed through fully, which i think is what contributes to it being such a good piece of media for fan content because there's so much you can explore that the movie doesn't. and admittedly it only has 2 hours. tog 2 has been through so many reshoots and crew changes and the like, plus rucka is writing again and the screenplay is easily the weakest part of the film. it was never particularly well written. if we're being real. the performances are solid, because the cast are all very good at their jobs, but the dialogue is awkward enough that there's some lines that still come out strangely. i like the general approach gina had when directing, some of the stuff she altered / brought to it is compelling but visually / stylistically it ranges from ok to. well. not good. we all make fun of how grey it looks. i say all this with all the love in my heart. but building off of tog 1 as an admittedly pretty solid foundation with an added villain, added lore, more characters and less breathing room (100 mins vs 120, which is still wild to me), i fear we have a Mess on our hands. so i have given up hoping for something good and am instead hoping for something fun. if quynh doesn't walk away from an explosion with sunglasses on i don't want it
