YOU play video games to feel powerful. I play video games to feel new, previously undiscovered shades of grief and sadness. we are NOT the same.

when Mae Borowski said:
"But when I die I want it to hurt. When my friends leave, when I have to let go, when this entire town is wiped off the map, I want it to hurt. Bad. Until that happens, I want to hope again. And I want it to hurt. Because that means it meant something."
I truly felt seen.

xavier and simon weren't really the duo I thought I needed, not by a long shot, but their trust exercise in ep4 really sealed the deal for me. like yes thank you actually I do need more moments with simon being too stressed out and xavier being the shrug emoji about it. they balance each other so well, it's hilarious.

simon is probably one of my favorite characters in all of school spirits because I love love when someone is the embodiment of the most loyal, most rabid cat imaginable. he’s ready to go after anyone and everyone for maddie, just say the word. maddie’s like ‘idk if this person could have done anything to kill me :/’ meanwhile simon is already breaking into their house and smothering them in their sleep for being mean to maddie one time three years ago. good for him.

No matter what schools spirits will have a very bittersweet ending and it hurts.
Either Maddie ends up alive and she has to say goodbye to the people and afterlife she has grown to love and care about.
Or she ends up dead and she has to say goodbye to her best friend and accept she will never get to grow up or move on. She will have to watch everyone she once knew and loved slowly leave her as they go onto their futures knowing that she will never get to experience that, knowing that she’s forever stuck in a town she hates.
No matter what option the ending will be bittersweet.

Nendo saying that protecting/being protected is what is means to be human and Saiki immediately saying that he's become someone who gets to be protected—he's become someone who gets to be human.
And then he thanks Nendo because for all his talk big talk, being allowed to just be human is something he's been denied by everyone who knows his secret, and it's a right he's always craved.

Saiki knew it might happen again because he cared. He cared about Akechi, and despite how hard he tried, he cares about them now. And he's never once blamed anyone but himself. That's why he goes back in time to prevent the others from ever knowing: he thinks of himself, the knowledge of his powers, as a burden. He essentially tells his brother as much, that it's too much to know who he is and accept that before he's already "fixed" it.
Here, Saiki doesn't want them to know because he doesn't want them to be disappointed in him when he doesn't deliver. Or when he's selfish. Or when he's scared—especially then, because he runs away when he's scared. The guy who never wants to be in anyone's debt sees their acceptance of him as a burden they've taken on, and he never wants to fail to make up for that.

Just finished saiki and when I tell you I was not expecting the show to have that much depth to it
#saiki k#the disastrous life of saiki k.#kusuo saiki#like I went into this show assuming it was just a comedy#which it is#but the characters and show itself had a surprising amount of depth#and there were a fair amount of moments that made me cry#especially the last few episodes#and the characters themselves had a lot to them#I just really enjoyed it

Just a reminder that Reid is not helpless in the face of authority. This is a man who told Strauss to her face that she was taking the easy way before saying ‘the problem is I have an eidetic memory, and that’s not what happened.’ This is the man who told an entire station of police officers that they could’ve prevented a death before sarcastically yelling at Hotch ‘oh you’re punishing me?.’ This man sat slouched in his seat whilst his team were all sat pin straight in front of a board of people who wanted them all fired and said ‘this is calm and it’s doctor.’ He looked Linda Barnes in the eyes whilst she was in the process of trying to destroy the team and said ‘if you’re going I’m not.’ This man does not care about authority.
