Happy 40th Birthday emo!!!
For those who aren't aware, in June 1985 Rites of Spring released their first (and only) album! Rites of Spring were among the first bands to be given the derogatory title of "emocore", short for emotional hardcore, which over the years got shortened to just emo, and this album was the first album to be released by an emocore band, therefore making this month Emos birthday! Happy Birthday Emo you're middle aged now!!
