You and your partner need to sit down and figure out what's cheating, what's hurtful, what's disrespectful and also what's needed for a good and healthy relationship for you as a couple because these things are not universal and you can't just assume you share the same definition

Tumblr media
let’s talk, shall we?
it’s no secret that tumblr writers have been leaving or deactivating their blogs, especially in the last year or two. and i think the reason why is even less of a secret.
the fact that writers have to practically beg for feedback and interaction on a site where they post their works for FREE is ridiculous. the fact that most of the people who are reading and consuming these works don’t even spare 10 seconds to add a nice tag to their reblog (if they even bother to do that) is borderline enraging. this is tumblr, not instagram or twitter. likes on tumblr do nothing for the writer. i don’t care if you think that it helps them appear in the tags, or if you think that seeing yet another “___ liked your post” is encouraging to them, because it doesn’t and its not.
and speaking of likes, why is the ratio of likes to reblogs so fucking huge? and before you think i’m being dramatic, lets take a look at some of the notes from my own works.
at the time of me writing this, my one-shot, dream lover, has 821 notes. that’s pretty good right? but let’s see how many are empty likes and how many are reblogs.
Tumblr media
769 likes.
52 reblogs.
out of those 52 reblogs, 35 of them are empty. no tag, no comment.
one of my reactions currently has 2,038 notes. you may be thinking that’s a lot, which it is and i’m incredibly thankful for how many notes i’ve gotten on it. but how many are likes and how many are reblogs?
Tumblr media
1,924 likes.
113 reblogs.
out of those 113 reblogs, 81 of them are empty.
one of my headcanons currently has 1,110 notes.
Tumblr media
1,069 likes.
41 reblogs.
28 of those 41 reblog are empty.
why is it so hard to reblog things and give feedback?
“oh but it won’t fit my blog theme!” if you’re so fucking concerned about what your precious tumblr blog looks like, then send an ask. they’re just as appreciated.
“i don’t know what to say tho!” we’re not asking you to be shakespeare. if you’re really that no thoughts head empty just put a keyboard smash, if nothing else.
“but i’m shy and embarrassed!” the anonymous option is there for a reason, and most writers have it turned on. being shy when you have the option of keeping your identity a secret is no excuse.
and yes, i’m aware that some writers don’t have the anon option on, which brings me to my final point.
stop. demanding.
if a writer has requests open, be a decent human being and use your manners. going into their inbox and saying “____’s reaction of this.” is no way to request something. saying please, thank you, or even “hey, could you do a reaction of _____?” is a thousand times better than just telling them what you want them to write.
writers spend hours of their time and energy to write things for you to read, and leaving an empty like is meaningless to them.
if your liked a writer’s works, reblog them and maybe add some nice fucking tags while you’re at or send an ask to them about it. because sooner or later, after so many likes and barely any interaction, more and more writers are going to leave.
stop making them desperate for any spare crumb of interaction and start leaving feedback if you love these writers so much.

Isolation
A/N: I’m back! Well sort of anyway. I have like three different wips and a million ideas for other stories that I’ve had for awhile but I did this instead. I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile though because I had a anonymous request for it forever ago so here ya go anon! (Sorry it took so long anon, I hope you still lurk somewhere in the vicinity of my blog so you can see this!) Check out my masterlist here! If you want to be added to any of my taglists let me know!
Anon’s Request: Ensign! Admiral Stabby wants to know how extraterrestrials might view social distancing when the Handbooks all say that Humans require contact with other beings to maintain peak efficiency.
Content: Mentions of disease, isolation. (Basically what’s happening now but in a sci-fi setting.) Please let me know if I need to add anything!
Word Count: About 1k
En’thaar lowered the chart and clipboard grasped tightly in his pinchers and looked up at the airlock of the ship docked before him, bracing himself for whatever he may find behind the door. In spite of Human-Anastasia’s reassurance, he was on edge, for he had no idea what to expect. The ship they were about to board had just returned from the outer rings of Kolstaj. When the ship’s last exploratory mission returned, a few of the mission members exhibited symptoms of Spirlux. It was a disease common enough to many species, with treatments and preventative measures available to nearly all of them. All, except, humans.

Note
What are "words"?
Words are what we use to convey our thoughts and ideas, what we use to communicate, however we are not limited to just words for these.

I challenge you to a 10 minute writing challenge based on "Flumpf"
Is that like a hurt/comfort thing? Well my shift is about to start. I’ll see what I can do tonight once I’ve got my start of shift stuff out of the way. 😂

Note
How would you describe "describing"?
Describing is when you use words to inspire an image of something in another person’s mind. If you do it with enough detail and in just the right way, they will picture what it is that you are trying to get them to think of.

I’m know I’m not the first person to say this, but any newbies on tumblr really need to understand how different this is from a lot of other social media. Particularly tiktok.
I just saw a creator on tiktok reminding followers that it’s actually a problem when someone goes back to the earliest post and watches all the posts chronologically, liking and commenting along the way. The stupid app recognizes it as spam or something and then kinda puts a halt on their account? Literally punishing people for positive engagement?? 🥴🤦‍♀️
I’ve already heard people saying years back how they don’t want to be “creepy” and go through a persons blog, liking and reblogging tons of stuff. But think how many more people are going to be worried about it now, thinking they might do actual damage! Most people, especially younger people, are so used to the way tiktok works now. So please, do not ever worry about this on here. Just remember-
You will never do any harm if you go on a like and reblog fest through someone’s tumblr blog! The only risk you’re taking is to make the blog owner weep for joy!! 😭🤣

I just realized I never shared this here! I can’t believe it. It’s an old story I wrote awhile ago for a writing prompt. I actually had a sequel in the works for a bit plus an outline for a whole series of sorts but it just never caught on. So enjoy something technically new from yours truly! 😂
Sting-Op Mixup
I wrote this as a response to a writing prompt and reblogged it a few days ago. The story took way longer than expected because it just kept growing and life got in the way as it does, so the reblog came three weeks after the original post. On top of that, for whatever reason my ‘read more’ link didn’t work so it pretty much died after that because its a bit on the long side for a short story. To be honest though, I worked too hard on it though to let that happen. I really got invested in this one to a degree that I haven’t with my other stories so far, so this is my attempt to revive it. If you want to see the original reblog and the prompt itself click here. Again, it is a bit long so you have been warned! Feedback is welcome. Hope you like it! :D
Thanks to @writing-prompt-s for the inspiration!
*If you like this and want to take a look at my other stories, click here.*
You stare dumbfounded at the group of people gathered in the dingy warehouse in front of you, as the door slams shut behind you.
Hey…! You thought. Thats my jacket!
Standing in the middle of the group was a worn, denim, military-green jacket with long sleeves faded a bit at the elbows and pockets on the sides as well as one on the wearer’s left side of the zipper. You would know that jacket anywhere. It had been your favorite one before you donated it last week to the old clothing collection for the undercover units.

I finally felt that I had enough written to create the new masterlist I spoke of when I created this blog. This will include everything I’ve written since starting this blog, including the rewrites of stuff on my main. If you want to see the original versions, don’t worry, I’ve included a link to the original masterlist below. I will update this and reblog it as I write more. My newest pieces will be indicated. Enjoy! Feedback is always welcome and my inbox/messages are always open! If you are ever inspired by my work, feel free to use it, just be sure to tag me so I can see it and share it! :D

Contrary to popular belief, abandoned WIPs are crucial to the writer ecosystem, as they become the fertile soil from which completed works grow. Without them, the landscape would be sterile and barren

Don't you sometimes get an absolutely extrodinary, mind blowing, such an awesome idea for a story, but you just don't have enough skill level to pull it off?
