Then, he sets up a show where the whole point of it is that you cannot win the game, just to break your streak of the whole thing. Your trust breaks just a little bit.

Next time, he asks you to put on a mic pack for another episode of the game show, turns out it’s a heart rate monitor for another episode where you have to sit there and be almost tortured as you attempt to keep yourself calm. Your trust is devolving.

Next time, you come on the show, he tells you to go and wait in the green room and locks you in there, he’s a recording on the screen because he’s locked in the bathroom, he’s been there the whole time, you’re forced to do an escape room to go to work. You don’t know if you can trust him anymore.

i feel like this perfectly summarises how i feel about them two. it was too late for him to change his fate, so despite all the effort into not being like house, it happened anyways. and that is why i love nobody's fault/chase. they're such interesting episodes because of how chase centric they are. and i think there's a great line from "chase" specifically. 'You're going to get away from him by turning into him?' sorta shows the inevitability of the situation. anyways thanks for listening to me ramble at 11pm at night

honestly nobody's fault/chase is just. chase cutting his hair short was worth it just for these episodes, for getting him unshaven and messy and looking like house, limping even — house telling him he doesn't want chase to turn out like him (cameron in s6, leaving because she thinks they're too alike). chase wanting to change — he spends half the show emulating house, wanting to be like house, and house tells him: i'm worried and i don't want that for you. and chase shaves, and he stays clean-shaven, and he no longer limps.
