My plans for Selkie are going to be really limited. I still really love this character, but he’s hard to play in a serious manner. So I’m going to try and shoot for less serious roleplays with him (with a few exceptions). like with eri and my overhaul, I’m going to be really picky with who I roleplay with, and be mutuals only. I hate to say I’m going to be exclusive, but, I have to for the sake of my energy and time management.

I have some drafts, and if you’re interested in continuing those threads, please let me know. Otherwise, hmu for any new thread ideas you might have!

As his lover, would you rather have Toshinori get quirked into four 1'8" versions of himself, or would you rather have him get quirked into one 14'4" version of himself?

Selkie nearly chokes on the tea he was drinking, a blush coming to his face.

“A little presumptuous grey face, we’ve only been on a few dates!” He cleared his throat, wheezing a bit after being caught off guard like that.

“And, well, both aren’t really desirable outcomes from a Quirk, but I supposed a 14 foot tall Toshinori would be easier on his own psyche than 4 smaller ones running around. The recombining of them and their memories would probably suck just a bit.” He winced at the thought of going through that himself.

“Fairy toast?” Selkie tilted his head. “Is that the toast with sprinkles on it?” He knew of it, the kawaiicore fashion community had it as a jewelry. He thought he had a little necklace with some on it somewhere...

“I’ve never really had this kind of toast before, it never occurred to me to make it like that.”

Toshinori brought out a knife to begin cutting slices. He made a little sound of surprise at the multitude of colours inside. Even if Selkie had told him before, he hadn’t quite expected something so colourful “Oh my! How pretty. It’s just like a birthday cake, even!”

“That’s what I was aimin for!” The seal hero grinned, whiskers twitching up. “It’s birthday bread!” The inside of the loaf was marbled like a marbled birthday cake. It had taken Selkie so long to do but it had been worth it.

The blonde moved to the fridge and got the carton of butter–salt and fat free of course, as per his diet. No don’t look farther back where the normal butter is, that’s totally not for him he doesn’t eat it at all–and sat it on the counter, before moving to one of the shelves to grab the cinnamon “I feel like a little kid. I haven’t done this in ages!” he giggled a bit, covering his mouth “I used to have sugar and cinnamon on toast all the time when I was young. My father and I would eat that, or make fairy toast! He had quite the sweet tooth.”

“I didn’t want you to get sick on your birthday! I used food colouring to make the inside look pretty.” The outside of the loaf looked very ugly, but it was still oven warm.

Toshinori gave him a heavy hug, grinning “It’s the thought that counts regardless! I’d be happy to share it with you if you like!” he took the bread and carried it to the counter “We can put butter and cinnamon on it and it’ll be like a cake anyway! I even have some uh. Sugar substitutes that we can sprinkle on too if you like….though I must admit it’s not really great.”

“I think butter and cinnamon would be great on it!” Selkie had a brief moment in his mind where he felt small in Toshi’s hug, but he nudged it away, following the retired hero.

“If that makes you a freak then it makes me one too.” Selkie barked out a light hearted laugh, gesturing to the room they were in. “I don’t think liking feminine things makes you weird.” He paused before he spoke again, turning some thoughts over in his head.

“Do you feel insecure in your masculinity because of this, or do you feel like you’re forcing yourself to be masculine to avoid this?” The distinction was important, Selkie knew that. One was a conversation he’d had with himself a million times. The other needed Google.

It was a simple enough question, yet Toshinori found himself…utterly floored by it.

He looked at Selkie with a blank expression, just trying to process it in his head “I….Uh….I-I…” was he? 

Was he forcing himself? As All Might it had never felt forced. It was just…what he was. Before that….and now…It felt.

Different. 

Like an act he could no longer perform.

A song and dance he’d forgotten the steps to.

Truth be told the only reason he had ever cared about his ‘masculinity’ was simply because he’d been afraid people would think he was…weird…if he acted and did the things he truly wanted to.

It’d been an easy enough thing to ignore when he was over 500 pounds of pure muscle, grinning and flexing and laughing for the camera…but now. 

Now that he didn’t have that mask of Adonis to hide behind and submerge himself in…

“It….Feels…..forced.”

“Okay... Then lets... do some research on the computer.” Selkie shifted and sat at his desk, cutting his monitor on. “I know there’s a few different labels that apply, the difference is in how you feel I think? I haven’t done a lot of research into this.” He’d done a few searches here and there when it came to interns so he would know the right language to use, but that was it.

“So do you feel like, specifically like a girl? Or just sometimes?” Selkie googled ‘definitions of different genders’ and clicked the first link, then went a little wall eyed That was. A lot.

He tried the next link and that was better. He turned the monitor towards Toshinori so he could see too. “Maybe this will help?”

Oh god they’re doomed

Enji is an idiot savant who literally only knows how to get people pregnant and fight he has no idea how to properly socialize or express his actual emotions or even properly please a partner he is a complete novice he might as well be a newborn babe and Selkie is the only one so far willing to give him the tutelage needed to learn these things now that he finally realizes what an absolute shitbag he’s been his whole life.
