a new challenger approaches to make naming sumeru characters EVEN HARDER

i was wondering if i should name alhaitham as “alhaitham” or “al-haitham”, following genshin or proper localisation of arabic names

but as i was looking through alhaitham’s name and was wondering if the team localised it to chinese wrongly, and proceeded to mess up the localisation to english

for NPCs, al is 阿 (ā) / 阿尔 (ā ér), with one 爱 (ài), but for haitham it’s 艾尔 (ài ér). with 阿, i’d understand dropping the al (which means the), since 阿 is just a prefix that doesn’t have any meaning to the name

but for 爱/艾, it seems to be legitimately part of the character’s name — THUS, my confusion
